Megan Jo Wilson is the founder of Rockstar Camp for Women, a transformative leadership program held at the Portland House of Music in Maine's largest city. Growing up in nearby Cape Elizabeth, Megan felt drawn to the arts at an early age. From performing Tina Turner tunes on her parents' front lawn to becoming a professional singer and musician, Megan quickly developed confidence in her ability to use her voice effectively. Throughout her decades of work as a certified coach and leadership trainer, Megan noticed a stark confidence gap between men and women in business. She founded Rockstar Camp with this in mind, providing a space where women conquer stage fright and unleash their voices through performance, empowering them to embrace their brilliance and leadership potential. The podcast episode from "Sense by Meg Fora," featuring Jo Wilson, delves into the multifaceted world of baby swimming, emphasizing its importance beyond mere physical activity. It opens with a recognition of the challenges many children face in conventional swimming programs, stressing the significance of fostering a lifelong love and connection with water. The episode, part of a series aimed at new parents, combines practical parenting advice with insights from experts in various fields. Jo Wilson, introduced as a guest, brings a unique perspective to baby swimming, focusing on sensory methods to enhance the aquatic experience for infants. Her approach is not just about teaching swimming but using the baby's senses to explore the aquatic environment, making her an aquatic educator beyond a traditional swimming instructor. Wilson shares her personal journey from being a new parent herself, finding solace and bonding with her child through swimming, to facing a career shift due to redundancy during maternity leave. This turning point led her to pursue her passion for baby swimming, ultimately creating her own swim centers designed to provide a sensory-rich environment for both babies and their parents. The discussion covers essential questions about baby swimming, such as its importance, the right age to start, vaccination requirements, and the best practices. Wilson's methodology, Aqua Sensory, is highlighted as a way to engage children through a sensory experience, promoting not just physical but cognitive, social, and emotional development. The episode also touches on the critical aspect of water safety, with host Meg Fora sharing a personal anecdote that underscores the life-saving importance of early swim lessons and diligent supervision around water. Benefits of baby swimming extend beyond mere safety; they include enhancing confidence, gross and fine motor skills, social-emotional bonding, speech and language development, and cognitive growth, with studies suggesting early swimmers achieve key milestones more effectively. Wilson encapsulates the essence of her teaching philosophy with the notion that baby swimming contributes to creating "brainy babies," underscoring the comprehensive benefits of early aquatic experiences. This episode not only provides practical advice for parents considering baby swimming but also enriches the conversation with personal stories and expert insights, making a compelling case for the holistic benefits of introducing infants to the aquatic world.

I think it's safe to say that entrepreneurs and businesswomen are done with antiquated notions of "business as usual." In our journeys as successful female entrepreneurs, we are creating new definitions for what it means to "work" and seeking and creating spaces that give us room to be who we are in both/ and our businesses and lives without all of the striving, overwhelm, and exhaustion. As more women and men awaken to the feminine, we embrace and integrate new modalities, embodiment practices, and tools that enhance our connection to ourselves, each other, and our world. Instead of living from a place of force, we are living from flow and attuning to the messages of our bodies and souls- leaving plenty of space on our calendars to remember our need to rest, regenerate, dance, and play. As more of us lean into our intuition and allow ourselves to be guided by our senses, we learn to include and leverage the gifts we used to suppress and hide. We are expressing and exposing what's outrageous about us because invariably- what is outrageous in us is also the animating spirit of our soul- the unique and vital part that remembers that we are alive! In this episode, Libby and Megan Jo talk about How each of us starts our day by centering feminine values as we get shit done. How Megan Jo and Libby became entrepreneurs and how they are leading women to redesign their businesses. Our new definition of "outrageous" and how it keeps us in a state of creativity. What is "jiggle therapy," and why loving your thighs will change your life and business! The difference between clearing emotions and INCLUDING emotions in the boardroom and beyond. Why the masculine is awesome and the patriarchy sucks for everyone. Practical ways to extract yourself from the conditioned impulse to "be busy" all the time. Why we can't continue to separate business from personal. Why starting your own business is a wonderful roller coaster ride. Why taking a dance break is a valuable way to express the energy that needs to move. Why suffering and sacrifice is not a badge of honor and why grind culture deadens us. Why collaboration is Sexy AF How to make new rules in business and why women are taking our pleasure to new heights as part of the "business plan." Why women are no longer manning up. Why we need to premeditate the magic of taking time off. Why the tiniest sip of pleasure will always get you through the day. The pitfalls most women fall into when it comes to business and why we have new radical choices at our fingertips that can change everything.

We find ourselves in our own dark twisty place this episode, as we reflect on our own covid experiences and remark at the relatability of the conversation between Addison and Amelia. Grey Slone memorial is full of familar faces and maybe too many storylines. We say a lackluster goodbye to Addison, Jo Wilson delivers a baby, Owen Hunt gets his army on, Megan Hunt brings faruk into hospital, where is Maggie? and Webber gets the help of Meredith Grey and Miranda Bailey to work on his new "Webber Method" for training the interns ( i mean residents). We also have a little moan that Grey's Anatomy will be on hiatus for a couple weeks. Which means the next episode of our season 18 recap won't be until after November 11. What if you could learn how to raise your voice, trust your power, and overcome your deepest fears? Meet Megan Jo Wilson, the founder of Rockstar Camp. Megan Jo is someone I deeply admire because she is taking the world by the balls and shifting the narrative about what it means to be a woman. In addition to being a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and a leader of world leaders, she is also an entrepreneur that is committed to supporting women to claim their voices and step into their personal leadership. Megan Jo is HOT, feisty, tender, funny, bold and honest. She's not afraid to say it like it is and does not suffer fools gladly. She's been a tremendous teacher and I consider her a dear friend. My prediction is that she will one day grace the covers of popular magazines as someone women want to celebrate and emulate. She stands for every woman to BE exactly who she is, living life out loud and without apology. Megan Jo is also an author of two best-selling books: Who The Fuck Am I To Be A Coach and Who The Fuck Am I To Be A Rockstar. She is the founder of Rockstar Camp, an experimental learning program for women who are ready to step out from behind the curtain to start rocking their business and their lives. Megan Jo Wilson is the Founder and Ringleader of Rockstar Camp for Women based in Portland, Maine. In the last year and a half, she has graduated over 50 women (and 10 brave men) through her experiential Feminist Leadership Camp which gives Women the tools they need to sing on stage in a spotlight with a live band and a live audience for one night. As they take these empowering tools off the stage and into their businesses, they expand their impact AND their income, and have a damn good time doing it. She has been a Certified Co-Active Coach and Business Mentor for 16 years, she is a Certified Sound Healer, and the author of two Bestselling Business-Books: “Who The Fuck Am I to Be a Coach?!” and “Who the Fuck Am I to Be a Rockstar?!” Her BIG-SUPER-NOVA-MISSION is to redirect Financial Wealth, Power, and Influence into the hands of modern-day Healers and Magic-Makers. In this episode Megan Jo and I discuss... Rockstar Camp for Women teaches Women Leaders to be more Visible… Why do you think that’s challenging for Women, and why is Visibility so important? You get Women who have no musical training to sing on stage with a live band and audience - why is the concert so important to this experience and what is your secret?! You also say that this is a Feminist Leadership Development program - what is the role of The Feminine in your work and how does that make it different from other programs? What are some of the results that you have seen after Women get on stage with Rockstar Camp? Links You can find Megan Jo and Rockstar Bootcamp here... We have always loved the art of gifting and we take pride in creating custom curations for our family, friends and colleagues. But working in an entrepreneurial setting and corporate environment, respectively, often left us with little time to roam store-to-store or browse site-to-site to locate a perfect, yet personal gift. Together we thought, wouldn’t it be wonderful if a choice of gifts could be in one place, ready for our next expression of emotion or to celebrate that upcoming special occasion… from here, the idea of Build My Gift was born. We now venture from store-to-store and travel from site-to-site, carefully selecting high-end items from luxury brands, so you can build a unique gift for all occasions in 3 simple steps. Going one stride further (so you don’t have to) we can deliver an elegantly wrapped gift straight to your fortunate recipients’ door. What a great time i had speaking with Joanne Wilson! Podcaster, neuropsychotherapist, counselor, blogger, radio personality, writer, wife, mom of 3...I think I would get a hernia again holding her business card! She really provided a lot of insight into the workings of the brain and how to keep a marriage strong. But I'm positive that those of you who have read her writings or listened to her radio appearances or podcasts already knew that! (Also, her website is worth checking out, too) You can tell that she really cares about people and wants to help those who need it. LOVE her mantra of "It is never too late to begin.". How true is that for all of us?? People like her make me glad that I get to do this. (Okay I think I've gushed enough...do I get a free "Is This Love?" t-shirt now?) But seriously, I consider myself very lucky to have interviewed her. Plus! Chemistry without Bunsen burners! Jo tries not to hit her husband's car! Conversation starters that won't land you in court! What’s important to you?’” (03:44) “It’s [Rockstar Camp] a leadership development program that’s unraveling the shame that we have around being seen and heard. It’s unraveling the conditioning we have that I can’t do something unless I do it perfectly.” (12:21) “I believe that being an entrepreneur and running a business is the most intense personal growth path you could possibly choose.” (14:54) “One of the reasons I started building Rockstar Camp is because, as I was teaching coaches how to build a business, the people who were succeeding were the people that were willing to be seen and heard in public.” (18:37) “Feminine energy is about connection, pleasure, intuition. It’s about outrageousness. It’s about fun. It’s non-linear. It’s non-logical.” (20:02) “For me, it’s [Zen Money] the being and the doing, which is what coaching is all about. And so, I have to be in a right frame of mind and a right frame of being in order to do the things that are required.” (25:46) “It’s being in an empowered state of mind and state of being so that I am more powerful than my money. I’m in control of my money. My money’s not controlling me. That’s Zen Money.” (26:54) About Megan Jo Wilson, CPCC: Megan Jo Wilson has been a Certified Professional Co-Active Life Coach for 15 years and is the founder and Creative Director of Rockstar Camp for Women based in beautiful Portland, Maine.
