An appraisal of Formula E's surprising choice of Homestead as a venue for the tenuously titled Miami E-Prix is picked through after a messy end to a race that saw numerous penalties applied. Pascal Wehrlein had elements of fortune on the way to his first E-Prix win of the season, while teammate Antonio Felix da Costa was one of several drivers to be scuppered by a late red flag for a multi-car shunt at a specially made chicane. The possibility of Wehrlein retaining his title is dug in to, as is the poor early season form of Jaguar, who will lose its team principal James Barclay at season end. A miserable weekend in Florida from the Stellantis powered car is also analysed, as is strong performances from Nico Mueller, Dan Ticktum and Lucas di Grassi, the last of which scored a momentous surprise second place for a reborn Lola. Latest news discussed includes the future of NEOM McLaren, the probable arrival of Opel and some details about a new documentary series which is set to hit the screens next month. Dan Ticktum's mighty rant in race one is looked in to a sparks a debate on whether or not drivers' language is really the issue that the FIA believe it is. Kevin Turner hosts the latest episode of the Autosport Podcast as he sits down with Stefan Mackley and broadcaster Karun Chandhok to preview the 11th season of Formula E, which kicks off in Sao Paolo this weekend. After Pascal Wehrlein won the Championship in a heated decider in London in the summer, he's back to try to retain the title, and if pre-season testing was anything to go by, Porsche looks like entering Season 11 as favourites. They've also expanded to six cars on their powertrains as the rebranded Kiro will also be running previous-spec powertrains. Their main opposition will likely be Jaguar, who still carry arguably the strongest driver line-up in the series with Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy. But can the pair of New Zealanders co-exist? There's also a discussion about Lola returning to Motorsport in collaboration with Yamaha and F2 race winner Zane Maloney making his series debut, why it could finally be Dan Ticktum's year, and how the new "Pit Boost" feature will affect the series famous "Peloton" racing style. So you mean to tell me that Ryan King only came back on the show because Dan Ticktum got caught speeding at 115mph?! Yes, yes we did! In this episode of Motorsport101, we catch up with more FIA politics as the sport's governing body clarified its stance on political activism during their weekends... and yeah, the Internet flipped out on this one. But was it justified. King helps Dre and Cam explain why it just isn't as simple as saying they're putting the clamps on the drivers. We also talk about Formula E in Hyderabad and it was a classic case of F-E chaos reigning supreme. Jean-Eric Vergne survived a late onslaught from Nick Cassidy despite the latter having nearly 4% more usable energy in a sprint finish. Sam Bird took out himself and his teammate after missing his braking point, and ruined Max Gunther and Sasha Fenestraz's races at the same time. Jake Hughes crashed after his mirror fell off his car and jammed his steering wheel. And Rene Rast altered the title after doing the right thing and avoiding an Oliver Rowland divebomb. Straight over the top of Jake Dennis' Andretti. Jake Struggles is alive and well. A race so crazy, Nico Muller nearly scored points. In a Cupra. Really. I've missed this series. Welcome back, to Motorsport101...
Porsche's total dominance of the Diriyah EPrixs is analysed in the latest Formula E podcast from The Race with host Jack Nicholls, reporter Sam Smith and guest pundit Andrew van de Burgt. Welcome to episode 42 of the Lovecars on the Grid podcast! Our hosts, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another roundup of motorsport events from the past week! There's no news from the FIA on the overspending from Redbull. Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren has written a complaint to the FIA regarding it. Cheating is cheating! Elsewhere in F1, we have no news on who are going to fill the Williams and Haas vacant seats, although there are rumours of who will be racing in them next year, we're just waiting on confirmation of super licenses! World Touring Cars will not continue after the end of the 2022 season, having just 12 cars on the grid and 20 minute races. There was a horrific crash in the support race to the European Le Mans Series, in which James Hunt's son, Freddie took the win. The Moto GP race in Australia was potentially the most exciting race of the year so far, as 8 bikes crossed the finish line within 0.884 seconds of each other. Suzuki rider, Alex Rins took the win from 10th on the grid. British Superbikes crowned Bradley Ray as their Championship Winner at Brands Hatch this weekend, despite a difficult race for him. We had a Donington Park decider in British GT, with Ian Loggie taking the Championship win in his Mercedes, having finished 2nd in the race. Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson had an altercation in NASCAR, following a risky move from Larson in Las Vegas and Bubba using his car as a missile! Then we crown new Champions in Caterham. (Yes, we know it's a little late, come laugh at our picks at the end instead!) We're about to get into the meat and potatoes of the 2022 Motorsport season, and to bring us up to speed, we're getting into Formula E's 8th season, and 2nd as a World Championship. We discuss the new qualifying format, and how the Groups and Super Bowl format got thrown out for a new, “Duel” system that involves a knockout tournament. We also talk about the newly revamped calendar with some double headers to chuck in there like Diriyah and Seoul! We also go through the teams and preview their chances going into the new season. New debutants such as Antonio Giovinazzi, Dan Ticktum and Oliver Askew. We talk about some of the reshuffles that teams have had, such as Avalanche in life after BMW, or DS Techeetah after a year of relative turmoil. Or Porsche, with renewed focus in their management. And we even make picks as to who we think wins the Championships. Do we go with Mercs as they enter their Last Dance with Nyck and Stoffel? Or maybe Jaguar with Evans and newly extended Bird? Could it be Porsche with Wehrlein or Lotterer? Or even the Venturi team with Mortara or Lucas Di Grassi? Find out in our Season Preview for Formula E, Season 8!
Welcome to episode 28 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast. This week, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman discuss the Formula 1, F2 and F3 at Sochi in Russia, the BTCC at Silverstone, Indycar and NASCAR in America, and of course the motorbikes! Formula 1 was a terrific Grand Prix out in Sochi! The Russian Grand Prix was far from boring this year, with British-Belgian racing driver, Lando Norris led the pack from pole position in his McLaren and George Russell not far behind, all because of Lewis Hamilton's crash into the pit wall in his Mercedes, and Max Verstappen's engine change at Red Bull! Then moving onto the Grand Prix, the tables turned! With the rain coming in with 10 minutes left of the race, Hamilton and Mercedes made the right decision to change their tyres, whereas Norris stayed out. Max also went in early to avoid the change in weather, which benefitted him and Red Bull, resulting in a second place. Hamilton took the win, gaining his 100th ever victory, setting a new record in Formula 1. It will be interesting in the 2022 season, with three British drivers contesting for the top spot. But who be on top in the Mercedes team, George Russell or Lewis Hamilton? In F2, Dan Ticktum won the first sprint race from pole position and then started in 5th place in the feature race, finishing in the same place. Australian driver, Oscar Piastri took first place for Prema Racing, extending his Championship lead. In Formula 3, the Sprint Race was won by American driver, Logan Sergeant, whilst Australian driver, Jack Doohan led from pole position to win the feature race with his team, Trident. Onto Touring Cars, the BTCC was at Silverstone with 30 cars on the 1.5 mile national circuit. Rory Butcher dominated the weekend, finishing in 1st place in the first two races, but then 13th in race 3. Indycar was at Long Beach, with 85 laps of the drivers hitting track limits and smudging the walls! Colton Herta was the fastest all weekend, but qualified in 14th thanks to a crash. The driver fought back through and ended up winning the race. Josef Newgarden finished behind Herta, having started on pole. NASCAR was in Las Vegas this weekend, with Toyota driver Denny Hamlin becoming victorious, with teammate Kyle Busch in 3rd place, and Chevrolet driver, Chase Elliot in 2nd. Over in the world of motorbikes, the Superbikes brought tragic news, with the sad death of 15 year old, Dean Berta Viñales in the Supersport 300 support race in Spain. Our thoughts are with his friends and family. This led to just two races being undertaken at the Motul Spanish round, with Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlıoğlu extending his championship lead, winning both races. Close behind him is British rider Jonathan Rea, finishing 2nd in the first race. In British Superbikes, the Championship was at Oulton Park, with a win for Tarran Mackenzie on his Yamaha in the first race, and two wins for Oxford Products Racing Ducati rider, Tommy Bridewell. Our Lovecars resident presenters were racing too! Nick Ponting was racing at Donington Park, and Ben Collins, Mr. Stig was racing at the 24 hour race at Circuit Zolder in Belgium! Next weekend, the WRC is back in Finland, Moto GP goes over to the USA, whilst World Superbikes are in the Algarve in Portugal and British Superbikes are back at Donington Park. Lots of bikes next week!
This is episode 26 of our Lovecars On The Grid Podcast with Paul Woodman and Tiff Needell! It's been an exciting week, but we kick off with the controversy in Formula 1 at Monza, where Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen ended up with his car on top of of Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton! Following Max's poor pit stop, that took 11 seconds, the two drivers came together. Who was to blame? Nonetheless, McLaren ended up doing very well at Monza, with Daniel Ricciardo taking 1st place, and Lando Norris coming in 2nd. A brilliant Grand Prix. In Formula 2, the first Sprint race was won by French driver, Théo Pourchaire. The second Sprint was won by Carlin Racing's Jehan Daruvala and the feature race in Monza for the F2 was won by Australian driver, Oscar Piastri. Elsewhere, British racing driver, Dan Ticktum admits he may have blown his chances in Formula 1, after being dropped by both Red Bull and now Williams. The driver admitted he probably opened his mouth too many times, when he probably shouldn't have! Is he suitable to be a Formula 1 driver? What do you think? We had an exciting race in Moto GP, at Ciudad del Motor de Aragón. Home rider, Marc Márquez had a great battle with Francesco Bagnaia on his Ducati, but Bagnaia was able to hold out, beating the Spanish rider by 0.6 seconds. The closes British rider, Cal Crutchlow finished in 16th position. The World Rally Championship was over in Greece, with the Acropolis fixture returning to WRC for the first time since 2013! French rally driver, Sébastien Ogier was first out in his Toyota Yaris WRC and edges towards his next Championship win, finishing in 3rd place. The British Superbikes were racing at the Silverstone National this weekend, with a big clash between Yamaha team mates, Taz Mackenzie and Jason O'Halloran. Thankfully, both drivers were ok and were back in race 2 and 3 with both taking a win! Just 3 rounds left of British Superbikes! Over the pond in the USA, Indycar was the Grand Prix of Portland, which has very limited of overtaking. This lead to tactical moves in the pits! Ex-Formula 1 Romain Grosjean caused mayhem at turn 1, with Alex Palou taking the win, followed by Alexander Rossi in second place. NASCAR was at the Richmond Raceway in Virginia, for a fairly uneventful race! Next week, Indycar goes to Laguna Seca for what will hopefully be an exciting race with the Corkscrew and just 2 rounds left. Moto GP is at Imola, and the battle continues between Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and Jonathan Rea in the World Superbikes at Barcelona and there's BTCC at Croft! Tiff's also driving at Goodwood in a Jaguar! Unrelated to motoring, a massive congratulations to British teenager, Emma Raducanu who won the US Open. Thank you for watching!

F24U is a show about second tier race-car drivers hosted by second tier sports analysts. This week we are back for Baku babyyyyyy. Chaos incarnate this weekend and we bring you a full breakdown of all the crazy overtakes, the crashes and the drama. Additionally, Matt is in love with Dan Ticktum.
See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Welcome to Episode 12 of Lovecars On the Grid the global motorsport roundup, where this week we kick off with the Formula 1 in Baku for a Grand Prix full of drama, that had Ferrari on pole and went on to see huge crashes for both Lance Armstrong and Max Verstappen, with a rare mistake from Lewis Hamilton, leading to the most unlikely of podiums you'll probably ever see! In F2 we discuss what to do with Dan Ticktum, was his ranting and raving really necessary? Was he hard done by from the stewards, or should he take his medicine and just get on with it? Plus a far more lighthearted and fun Alice Powell doing a couple of ‘Murrays'! WRC was in Italy and it probably wasn't the most exciting racing you'll ever see! But what car they do to spice things up? But in terms of excitement, MotoGP was as dramatic as ever – and a surprise winner! Over at Nurburgring World Touring, but with only 3 lap races?? Plus the highly coveted 24 Hour race that was blighted by terrible weather! And over the pond NASCAR was once again dominated by that man in Number 5. Next weekend there's a break from F1, but we have Indycar on Belle Isle, Detroit, where Tiff has raced before, WEC in Portugal with Glickenhaus debut, plus the return of the BTCC, oh, and of course our very own Tiff Needell at Thruxton and Paul Woodman in the Caterham Academy at Knockhill!
F24U is a show about second tier race-car drivers hosted by second tier sports analysts. In this episode, we review the hectic weekend in Monte Carlo, sing the praises of a 17 year-old Frenchman and decry Dan Ticktum's haircut

Leider keine Frau in diesem Jahr, was wir sehr schade finden.

Leider keine Frau in diesem Jahr, was wir sehr schade finden. #404 Xmas Special. We review the season gone by, give gifts, virtually, read terrible Christmas cracker jokes, write poems and perform the Welsh tradition of Plygain, and share our hopes for the New Year. Plus new On Speed music with "Before Christmas".
It was the 129th GP of the hybrid era. 146 since a Ferrari, Mercedes or Red Bull failed to win. 24 YEARS since a French driver topped the podium. On Episode 261, we talk Pierre Gasly, and the Miracle in Monza. F1: No really, Pierre Gasly won. Seriously. We break down how. There was a massive accident at mid-distance as Charles Leclerc oversteers himself into Parabolica wall, drawing a Safety Car and Red Flag as Kevin Magnussen's Haas died right by pit entry, causing the pitlane to be closed, however... Lewis Hamilton and Antonio Giovinazzi box during closed pit lane due to K-Mag failure, both get 10-second stop/go penalties. Pierre Gasly however, beat the clock, gained track position on the restart, Stroll gets a free pitstop under red, and Verstappen retires on engine failure after the restart. Sainz guns down Gasly at the end, falls maybe 1 lap short, Stroll 3rd after poor 2nd start. Hamilton drives mad, goes from 17th to 7th on restart after serving penalty. We mention Sebastian Vettel suffering an early brake failure and Nicolas Latifi finishing 11th in the final race for Williams as we know it (but more on that in 262) In F2, we all got dewey-eyed as a Schumacher won in a big red car at Monza. Aww. He took the feature race win after a dream start going from 6th to 2nd in one corner! He would take the W over Luca Ghiotto and Christian Lundgaard after Callum Illot stalled it in the pits. As for the sprint race, Dan Ticktum dominated in hilarious fashion, needing the medical car to get back to pit lane... but his car didn't have enough fuel for a sample so he was chucked out via DQ. So Callum Illot won instead ahead of Lundgaard and Mick! And in F3, Frederick Vesti won Race 1 ahead of Frederick Vesti wins Race 1 ahead of Theo Pourchaire and Oscar Piastri goes from 15th to 3rd, Logan Sargeant DNF’s after being spun off, Prema taking the team title back to "Titletown". In Race 2, Jake Hughes scores a win as Liam Lawson got given a late time penalty promoting Smolyar to his first F3 podium!
So, a brand new race at Mugello and an interesting one it was. Hamilton had to work hard for win #90 and we had not one, but two red flags as Ferrari limped through their 1000th GP! We also got a chaotic F3 season finale, and F2 too! Formula One Grande Premio della Toscana 1000 (at Mugello!) Lewis Hamilton wins #90, and if his shirt makes you uncomfortable, good - I hope he continues to beat all of your favourites for many years to come and suck all of your enjoyment of F1 away from your cold, shitty body Sebastian Vettel is free now! The Aston Martin deal is official! Not one, but TWO multi-car accidents before completing a single racing lap! This sport wants you to pay nine figures to enter! It’s time for another round of Valtteri Bottas discourse™ Alexander Albon finally, FINALLY gets his first podium for Red Bull Is the Renault...good? Yeah, Ocon’s brakes failed, but RIC almost shithoused a podium (4th) Stroll crashes out of the podium fight, Perez salvages 5th on the weekend that he gets shown the door at Racing Point - NOR 6th, KVY 7th Somehow, some way, the plucky Italian minnows Ferrari manage to salvage 8th (LEC) and 10th (VET), but let’s not take Kimi Raikkonen’s pit lane infringement out of context, as entering pit lane past the designated entry line was okay in the early 20th century George Russell finishes just outside the points in 11th, after bogging down on the final restart and burning up his tyres, kismet isn’t real Grosjean drove this race with a car duct taped together and finished the race FOR THE FORMULA 3 CHAMPIONSHIP...OF THE WOOOOOORLD Oscar Piastri overcomes the odds - a grid penalty in race 1, finishing outside the points, but 7th in race 2 is enough to clinch the 2020 title even when he never qualified on the front row for a Race 1/Feature Race It’s Piastri’s second straight single-seater title (2019 Formula Renault Eurocup), now the 8th rookie to win the GP3/International F3 Championship since 2011 (Bottas, Kvyat, Lynn, Ocon, Leclerc, Russell, Schwartzman) Captain America vs Iron Man - Logan Sargent and Lirim Zendeli’s lap 1 crash in Race 2 costs Sargent the title Four straight podiums for Pouchaire to end the season just not enough in the end Vesti wins Race 1, Lawson wins Race 2, to round out the Top 5 in the standings Formula 2 is there too, let’s talk about it Feature Race: Another alternate strategy victory for Nikita Mazepin! A Hitech 1-2, Deletraz makes a late surge to 3rd - and Dan Ticktum has an entire podcast on the radio! Sprint Race: Christian Lundgaard wins lights-to-flag as he’s back on form! Mazepin collides with teammate Ghiotto to undo all that hard work! Deletraz on the podium again, first podium for Juri Vips
Interviewing Formula 2 supervillain. The audio gets sharper around the 10 minute mark.

So the bad news is that we still have the background hum in the recording. The good news is that we’re pretty sure we now know what is causing it and we’re spending the coming week refreshing our podcasting setup in order to take care of the issue. We’re hopeful that we’ll have the whole thing sorted in another episode or so.It turns out that the feedback is unanimous, at least among our sources in F1 - the French Grand Prix was terrible, and it’s all Circuit Paul Ricard’s fault. Romain Grosjean is actually calling it a nightmare scenario.Max Verstappen had an amazing Austrian Grand Prix.We don’t fault the race stewards from investigating Max’s pass on Charles Leclerc, all the same we’re very happy that they elected not to take any action in response to the pass.It took a while before we got the steward’s verdict, and we know why, either way Ferrari will not be appealing this decision.Could there be an exit clause at play between Max Verstappen and Red Bull?Red Bull Development Driver and SuperFormula Driver Dan Ticktum is now Former Red Bull Development Driver and Former SuperFormula driver Dan Ticktum.Marcus Ericsson will drive an F1 car again - in a Pirelli tire test.Could the 2020 spec tires be part of the race weekend at the end of this season?Rumors of a London Grand Prix continue to swirl - could this have an impact on Silverstone?
