經營之神王永慶生前曾表示過，這輩子有兩個產業多少抱有些遺憾，一是生技業、第二個就是汽車業！當年台塑投產韓國大宇汽車(Dawoo)的Magnus、並命名為「台塑一號」，量產車並未使用Dawoo的logo，而是掛上「Formosa」的品牌，其中頂級款在車頭前還配備專屬立標，以彰顯尊貴感，只不過在強敵Camry、Cefiro的環伺下，銷量不見理想，為維持銷售數字，轉而積極投入警用車標案，如果大大們還記得，當年藍白塗裝的台塑一號時常可見穿梭大街小巷。在台塑汽車的乘用車銷售紀錄上，銷售表現最好的並不是台塑一號，其實是台塑二號，也就是Matiz……。
