Ytterligare några år senare gjorde Neant Falk den meditativa konstfilmen Your Mind is Bigger than All the Supermarkets in the World, efter att ha studerat på Konstfack. Resultatet blev konstfilmen Your Mind is Bigger than All the Supermarkets in the World som fick fina recensioner och visades i fullsatta salonger på Folkets Bio. Filmografi: 1996 – Väninnor - berättelser från garderoben - dokumentärfilm, 2003 - Du ska nog se att det går över, dokumentärfilm, 2010 - Your Mind is Bigger than All the Supermarkets in the World, dokumentärfilm, 2011 - Nine Speeches on Violence by Three Wise Men, konstfilm, The Cleansing Ceremony med Nya Konstnärsklubben, 2018- Om filmerna: Väninnor - berättelser från garderoben, 1996, 53 min De är fem kvinnor i åldrarna 60 till 85 år och de är lesbiska. Femton år senare satte hon in samma annons igen. Your Mind is Bigger than all the Supermarkets in the World är en 73 minuters stillsam resa där den största dramatiken är de tankegångar som sätts igång inom betraktaren. Joakim Rindå Premiärdatum: 7 mars 2010 Regissör & manus: Cecilia Neant Falk Land: Sverige (inspelad på Sri Lanka) Produktionsår: 2010 Produktionsbolag: Riot Reel & Bokomotiv AB Medverkande: Medtiationsläraren Upul Nishanta Gamage & Regissören Cecilia Neant Falk Längd: 73 min Producenter: Cecilia Neant Falk & Freddy Olsson Foto: Johan Rydberg & Cecilia Neant Falk Ljudmix: Owe Svensson Copyright: Cecilia Neant Falk Genre: Experimentell dokumentär Bildformat: 16:9, Färg Ljudformat: 5.1 Språk: engelska Textningsspråk: svenska & engelsk Översättning: Agneta Wirberg Textmakarna Distribution: Folkets Bio AB Extra material: Trailer: Your Mind is Bigger than all the Supermarkets in the World Sveriges Radio - Människor och tro: Kvartsamtal med Cecilia Neant Falk. Tune in for Loud & Queer's rundown on the 2021 Melbourne Queer Film Festival! Laura (they/them) and Elizabeth (she/her) dove into four movies across the annual March festival. Laura describes the heartfelt documentary "Keyboard Fantasies" about African American musician Beverly-Glenn Copeland. Copeland grew up in small-town USA in a single-minded religious community where his parents taught him classical and traditional music. Moving to Montreal, he thought he was gay before realising he was a trans man. His 1986 album, which inspired the title of the documentary, was released on a cassette to a local audience but didn't reach further afield until his old age. The documentary follows Copeland and his band as he tours across Canada, inspiring young people with his vibrant and soulful music. The only thing missing for us was more queer content focusing on self-love as Copeland accepted himself later in life. Laura's rating: 9/10 Elizabeth saw "Forgotten Roads" at Como Cinema, a Spanish film which follows the story of widower Claudina who is still discovering parts of her sexual identity. The story follows her close relationships with those in her village, her loving grandson, her estranged daughter, and her new lover, Elsa. These relationships highlight her growth  but aren't integral to it; Claudina is her own person with a loving partner: they both just happen to be queer. Elizabeth's rating: 8/10 Laura visited Cinema Nova with their partner to check out "Kiss Me Before It Blows Up", a Tel Aviv-based film surrounding the engagement of a young Sapphic couple, German Maria and Israeli Shira. The couple goes through the usual trials and tribulations when 'meeting the parents', discussing their future, and the uncomfortable history of ex-flames. Their queerness is hardly an issue, but their family histories are thrown in their faces daily where in Israel, the personal is equal to the political. While the story was your average rom-com in all things cinematography, plot conventions and the like, the characters had no chemistry between them and it seemed the Palestinian issue was always played for laughs in some pretty inappropriate ways. The movie's main saviour is its occasionally witty, disastrous humour on things unrelated to Palestine. Laura's rating: 2/10 | Laura's partner's rating: "Do you accept decimal point ratings?"  Special shout out to "My First Summer", MQFF's principal film for the 2021, which Laura saw out of interest. It follows the lives of two teenage girls falling in love and supporting one another through trauma and neglect. Wildly unique and downright touching, My First Summer didn't condescend to its audience, or underestimate the strength and depth of young queer women. Laura's rating: 8/10 See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The "I just want to give a shout out to..." edition. After discovering that we could literally just keep giving away double passes to the new Nicole Kidman film, 'Destroyer', on Twitter we turn our attention to that very film. What is it even about? Why does she look so weathered? Should she have been Oscar nominated? Who cares? The Melbourne Queer Film Festival is happening and that's got everyone's attention. We'll take your hand, put a negroni in it and see you through to closing night. 00:40 'Destroyer' 06:14 Film Diary part 1 07:04 Anders' picks from the Alliance Française Film Festival 12:03 Film Diary part 2 13:43 'Sauvage' 22:58 'Making Montgomery Clift' 34:31 Eloise on 'Dykes, Camera, Action' 36:35 Anders on 'Sorry Angel'

All The President's Minutes is a podcast where conversations about movies, journalism, politics and history meet. Each show we use the seminal and increasingly prescient 1976 film All The President's Men as a portal, to engage with the themes and the warnings of the film resonating since its release. For minute 34, I join a film fanatic, freelance arts journo, political dork, the rip-snorting Stephen A Russell. Stephen and I discuss Superman, the Henriad, the Cigarette Smoking Man, and SO MUCH MORE. About Stephen A Russell (via MIFF 2017)Imported from Glasgow, Stephen A Russell is a writer and critic who has called Melbourne home for more than a decade. After a spell working at the sadly departed Fairfax Community Network, he has been crafting a freelance career for the previous five years. Stephen regularly contributes film-focused content to SBS Movies and SBS Sexuality as well as Metro magazine, The Music, The New Daily, Fairfax, and The Lowdown Under.Stephen's musical Scottish brogue and the odd rogue snort can be heard on his Friday spot on Noosa FM 101.3, as well as occasionally popping up on Radio National and queer radio station Joy 94.9 FM. He also conducts Q&A sessions with visiting directors and actors for the likes of Palace Cinemas, Nova, the Lido and the Classic, as well as for film festivals including MIFF and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.Twitter: @SARussellwordsOutlets: SBS Movies, SBS Sexuality, The New Daily, Fairfax, TimeoutSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/one-heat-minute-productions/donations
