Na Slovensku sa zhruba za mesiac stali tri vlakové nešťastia s desiatkami zranených a jednou obeťou. Podľa dopravného analytika Iva Drahotského z Dopravnej fakulty Univerzity Pardubice nie je takáto frekvencia obvyklá. Pred niekoľkými rokmi zaznamenali aj v Česku sériu vlakových nešťastí, ktorá však odštartovala rýchlejšiu inštaláciu bezpečnostného systému ETCS do koľajníc i vlakov, ktorá pomáha podobným nehodám predchádzať. Na Slovensku tento proces mešká a v kombinácii s vysokým investičným dlhom výrazne znižuje bezpečnosť železničnej dopravy. Ivo Drahotský potvrdzuje, že českí dopravcovia sa sťažujú na stav slovenských koľajníc a musia tomu prispôsobovať svoju jazdu. „Slovenské železnice nespĺňajú ich technické a bezpečnostné parametre a české vlaky tak musia jazdiť pomalšie ako je obvyklé.“ Minister dopravy Jozef Ráž teraz sľubuje rýchle opatrenia na zvýšenie bezpečnosti, napríklad v podobe kamier inštalovaných v kabínach rušňovodičov. Podľa Drahotského to môže pomôcť eliminovať výskyt ľudských zlyhaní, ale Slovensko musí nevyhnutne pridať v investíciách do železničnej infraštruktúry. „Rýchle riešenia na zlepšenie bezpečnosti na železnici neexistujú,“ upozorňuje analytik. Okolité krajiny V4 už dlhšie investujú do železničnej infraštruktúry. Napríklad v Česku je aj vďaka dotáciám zavedený systém ETCS na dĺžke 1200 km tratí (12,5% siete), zatiaľ čo na Slovensku je to len na 204 kilometroch (7% siete). Rovnakým štandardom je vybavených aj 1803 vlakov Českých dráh, čo je realita len pre 89 rušňov slovenského dopravcu ZSSK. Napriek podfinancovaniu slovenských železníc štát uvoľnil dotáciu 5,2 milióna eur na leteckú linku Bratislava - Košice a naďalej platí zhruba 50 miliónov eur ročne dotáciu na vlaky zadarmo pre študentov a dôchodcov. Vlaky zadarmo zvažovali v minulosti aj v Česku, ale túto myšlienku zavrhli. „Ak je niečo zadarmo, ľudia si to nevážia a ak je to pre všetkých zadarmo, tak riskujete, že sa ľudia budú prevážať aj zbytočne,“ hovorí Ivo Drahotský. V rozhovore približuje aj nové trendy vo vlakovej doprave, napríklad v podobe autonómnych vlakov, ktoré už v Česku jazdia, alebo vysokorýchlostnej železnice, o ktorej česká vláda uvažuje. HANetf Head of Research Tom Bailey talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the implications of the UK Financial Conduct Authority's decision to reverse its 2021 ban on crypto exchange-traded commodities (ETCs) for retail investors. Bailey described the move as “a major shift,” noting that since 2021, retail investors in the UK had been restricted from purchasing crypto ETCs via their usual investment platforms. “Lifting the ban means investors are once again able to buy and hold crypto through their kind of regulated brokers,” he said. He highlighted that this change will bring the UK in line with jurisdictions such as the US and Europe, where retail investors have been able to access cryptocurrencies through regulated products. Bailey also emphasised that while the inherent price volatility of cryptocurrencies remains unchanged, the new structure mitigates custody risk. “Crypto ETCs like all ETCs take that risk or reduce that risk. It's being custodied, institutional grade,” he explained. Drawing parallels with the rollout of gold ETCs in the 2000s, Bailey pointed out that crypto ETCs offer a similar simplification and mainstreaming of access, allowing these digital assets to sit alongside other investment options within standard portfolios. Das zweite Quartal stand ganz im Zeichen der von Trump eingeführten reziproken Zölle am Liberation Day. Das Ausmaß der Zollforderungen hat die Marktteilnehmer zunächst geschockt und die Börsen auf Talfahrt geschickt. US-Aktien lagen zeitweise 25 % unter ihrem Hoch, Aktien aus Europa und den Schwellenländern gaben nach um 17 % bzw. 19 %. Die Märkte konnten sich aber schnell wieder erholen, als klar wurde, dass Trump doch nachgibt, wenn die Kapitalmärkte nervös werden (TACO Trade), weshalb die Verluste bereits innerhalb des selben Quartals größtenteils ausgeglichen werden konnten. Besonders positiv entwickelt haben sich in diesem Quartal deutsche und US-amerikanische Aktien, die jedoch uns Euro-Anlegern nur bedingt zugutekamen, aufgrund der historischen Abwertung des US-Dollars in Folge eines Vertrauensverlustes globaler Investoren. Von diesem Vertrauensverlust profitiert auch der Goldpreis, der in diesem Jahr mit knapp 30 % eine der größten Wertsteigerungen seit 1979 erlebt. Im Video gehen wir verstärkt auf die Hintergründe zu dieser Entwicklung ein. Auch die Kryptomärkte werden von internationalen Investoren immer mehr als Basisinvestment betrachtet. Die Volumen in Krypto-Fonds und ETCs nehmen laufend zu und schickten beispielsweise den Bitcoin im Juli, trotz enormer temporärer Wertschwankungen, auf ein neues Allzeithoch bei 123.000 USD. Der grundsätzliche Ausblick bleibt positiv, mit Blick auf historische Vergleiche. Unsicherheitsfaktoren bleiben aber Trumps unkalkulierbare Politik und weitere Zollforderungen. Auch steht US-Notenbankchef Jerome Powell unter Druck von Trump, da er aufgrund der ungewissen Auswirkungen der Zölle die Zinsen nicht senken möchte, was Trump aber nachdrücklich fordert. Glänzende Aussichten für Edelmetall-Preise. Gold hat die 3000 US-Dollar je Feinunze Gold – also für 31,1 Gramm - hinter sich gelassen und notierte am Freitag, den 18. April bei knapp 3.300 US-Dollar. Diesen Kurs hält selbst Gold-Fan und Investorenlegende Jim Rogers für zu ambitioniert, als dass er aktuell weiter nachkauft. Crash-Prophet Jim, der letzte Woche auf meinem zweiten Podcast-Kanal GELDMEISTERIN zu Gast war, sitzt derzeit ebenso wie Investmentgröße Warren Buffett auf einem Berg von Bargeld, genaugenommen auf Dollars und wartet auf den nächsten großen Aktien-Crash. Es lohnt sich diese Folge der GELDMEISTERIN nachzuhören: https://youtu.be/7XmR2-hPXfsSo ziemlich das Einzige neben Agrarkontrakten, was Jim Rogers jetzt eventuell noch nachkaufen würde sei Silber, weil es, vor allem auch im Verhältnis zum Edelmetall Gold derzeit sehr günstig sei. Einen aktuellen Silberpreis von 32,5 Dollar je Unze für attraktiv. Das ist keine Anlageempfehlung. Ich bin nicht Trump. Zudem ist Silber immer noch in einem Abwärtstrend. Einige Spekulanten und Handelssysteme dürften mit dem Einstieg darauf warten, dass Silber unter 30 Dollar je Feinunze fällt.Zu welchem Preis auch immer würde ich Silber nie als Basisinvestment für meinen Vermögensaufbau sehen, sondern nur als kleinen Baustein im Depot mit einem maximalen Anteil von zwei Prozent meiner verfügbaren Veranlagungssumme.Mein Kerninvestment ist und bleibt ein breit gestreuter globaler Aktienfonds. Als Kerninvestment hätten Edelmetalle mir viel zu wenig Ertragspotenzial. Auch sind mir die Preisschwankungen vor allem bei Silber hierfür viel zu hoch. Sie lagen bei Silber in der Vergangenheit schon einmal bei 30 bis 40 Prozent pro Jahr. Silber ist auch ein zu kleiner Markt als Basisinvestment und daher auch zu wenig liquide. Sprich man kann es ohne Abschläge nicht so leicht kaufen und verkaufen. Silber wird auch stärker als Gold in der Industrie eingesetzt. Daher leidet die kleine Schwester von Gold derzeit auch unter den Rezessionsängsten bzw. Trump-Zöllen. Was man bei Silber auch wissen muss. Wenn man es physisch erwirbt, zahlt man darauf Mehrwertsteuer. Das sind in Österreich immerhin 20 Prozent, in Deutschland 19 Prozent. Gold ist hingegen EU-weit Mehrwertsteuerbefreit. Manche lagern deshalb ihr Silber in der Schweiz in Zollfreilagern. Dann zahlt man die Mehrwertsteuer eben, wenn man sich das Silber ausliefern lässt. Auf Gewinne von physischem Gold und Silber zahlt man keine KESt. Dafür fallen Kosten für die Versicherung und für die Safe-Aufbewahrung an. Obendrein zahlt man zweistellige An- und Verkaufsspannen. Wegen dieser hohen Preisaufschläge eignen sich meiner persönlichen Meinung nach weder physisches Silber noch physisches Gold für kurz- bis mittelfristige Veranlagungen. Kauft man Silber wiederum als Wertpapier, dann erwirbt man in der EU keinen ETF, sondern einen Exchange Traded Commodity ETC. Weil europäische UCITS-Fonds nicht nur ein Finanz-Produkt wie Silber, sondern verschiedene Investments enthalten müssen. In der Schweiz sind Silber-ETFs zugelassen. Was ist der Unterschied ? ETCs sind kein gesichertes Sondervermögen, sondern genaugenommen Zertifikate bzw. Schuldverschreibungen mit einem Emittentenrisiko. Bei ETCs würde ich also noch mehr auf renommierte, große Emittenten achten und dass für das investierte Geld tatsächlich physisches Gold oder Silber hinterlegt ist. Wer sich in Etappen Silber in sein Depot legen möchte, für den gibt es auch Silbersparpläne. Du kannst auch in Silberminen-Aktien investieren. Aber kennst Du Dich wirklich aus mit der Produktion und deren Förderkapazitäten? Das wäre mir persönlich zu spekulativ. (17:30) Gut zu wissen: • Rohstoffe verursachen hohe Lager- und Transportkosten, die den Handel erschweren. Dazu kommt, dass z. B. Agrarrohstoffe verderben können. • Termingeschäfte dominieren den Markt, da Preis und Lieferung zeitlich versetzt sind. Futures bieten standardisierte Investments für die wichtigsten Rohstoffe, werden aber vor allem von Unternehmen genutzt, die die Rohstoffe tatsächlich benötigen – sie beinhalten eine Abnahmeverpflichtung. • Für private Anlegerinnen und Anleger sind Termingeschäfte und Futures ungeeignet, da sie meist nicht an einer realen Abnahme interessiert sind. • Marktentwicklungen, Angebot und Nachfrage sowie geopolitische Ereignisse oder Naturkatastrophen können zu starken Preisschwankungen führen. • Direkte Rohstoffkäufe sind für Privatanlegerinnen und -anleger nicht sinnvoll – besser sind breit gestreute ETFs auf Rohstoffindizes oder ETCs für einzelne Rohstoffe. • Achtung: ETCs sind kein Sondervermögen, das Kapital ist bei einer Insolvenz des Anbieters nicht geschützt. • Rohstoffe erzeugen keine laufenden Erträge wie Zinsen oder Dividenden. Ihre Wertsteigerung basiert allein auf Knappheit oder steigender Nachfrage – bei Aktienniveau an Schwankungen, aber ohne verlässliche Rendite. • Gold gilt als Krisenversicherung, verursacht kaum Kosten und sollte nur in kleiner Dosierung (max. 5 % des liquiden Vermögens) gehalten werden. Het is al decennialang een superkrachtig EV avant la lettre, maar het is ook zoveel meer dan dat. Het is comfortabel, het rijdt heel stabiel, het rijdt op rails en kiest zijn weg via wissels, en de voertuigen gaan soms decennialang mee. Hoe zit het tegenwoordig met die vertrekprocedure? Soms zie ik precies nog dat er met die driehoekige sleutel gewerkt wordt, maar soms ook niet. Veiligheid Bij massavervoer staat de veiligheid van de reiziger en de omgeving voorop. Ook om die veiligheid te waarborgen wordt er heel wat technologie gebruikt. ETCS wordt omschreven als “cruise control” voor treinen, en ik hoor dat België op gebied van implementatie top is in Europa. De werking van slagbomen. Hoe weet een slagboom dat een trein nadert en ook wanneer hij weer open mag gaan? Zijn daar de toonspoorstroomlopen belangrijk? We zien (jammer genoeg) nog te vaak ongevallen aan overwegen door auto’s, fietsers, voetgangers, etc die zich tussen gesloten slagbomen begeven met dikwijls fatale afloop. Opvallend is dat er bij elke overweg meestal wel camera’s staan die dit filmen. Hoe (on)denkbaar is het dat we in de toekomst een objectdetectie krijgen (met manuele confirmatie) om dit te voorkomen? Vorige week nog in Dendermonde. Kan AI daar een rol in spelen? Communicatie (Karel) Terwijl wij maar zitten te vloeken om een beetje deftige 4G op de trein te krijgen, hebben de bestuurders en treinbegeleiders in België een apart GSM-netwerk. Geen Proximus, geen Telenet, geen Orange, wel het aparte GSM-R-netwerk. Waarom is dat? Treinen hebben vaak slechte dataverbinding door de kooi van Faraday waarin we zitten, en wifi op de treinen is een experiment dat precies afgevoerd is? Worden daar nog acties rond gepland, bv. mobiele versterkers op de trein? Hoe communiceren treinen met hun "base station" en hoe betrouwbaar moet dat zijn om wissels (of wat dan ook) doen laten te werken om die dingen niet met een rotvaart tegen elkaar doen laten te knallen. Problemen / vertraging We zijn dol op de trein en zijn technologie, maar het is niet allemaal rozengeur en maneschijn. De trein wordt ook vaak geassocieerd met vertragingen, met wachten op koude perrons, met onduidelijkheid over het lot van een trein, met afschaffingen, met spoorwissels, met overvolle rijtuigen. Zeker een Brusselse reiziger kan vaak rood aanlopen als het over de trein gaat. Is dat perceptie en valt het allemaal mee, of is dat echt zo? En waarom lijken we het hier niet onder controle te krijgen en kan een land als Zwitserland of Japan wel op de klok rijden? Volgens meerdere bronnen zou Nederland het drukst bereden spoor moeten hebben van de Europese Unie. Alleen Zwitserland en Japan gaan hier overheen. Dan zouden wij toch dezelfde problemen moeten hebben? Een vertraging van 1 trein heeft dan ook impact op de rest? Of hebben wij meer uitwijkmogelijkheden of zo? Momenteel zit de NS op een punctualiteit van 88,9 procent. Een groot knelpunt is een gebrek aan elektromonteurs Wat kunnen de spoorwegen doen om de Brusselse flessenhals te ontlasten? Planning Hoe wordt de planning van de treinen gedaan? En zeker dan de goederentreinen hier tussen door? Is dat een programma of wordt zo iets handmatig gedaan? Der Fonds ist absolut sinnvoll, aber eine Milliarde Euro ist vielleicht etwas wenig", sagt Michael Blumenroth im Rohstoff-Talk. Der Rohstoffanalyst der Deutschen Bank über Gold weiter: "Schon vor der Zinswende wurde einiges bei Gold eingepreist. Wir haben sogar die 2.600 Dollar pro Unze gehandelt. Jetzt nehmen vielleicht einige Teilnehmer die Gewinne erst einmal mit. Der Goldpreis dürfte aber über die nächsten Monate weiter Schübe bekommen. For me, a lot of my adventures and career shifts came while wandering, being open to what the universe showed me and the serendipitous events that arose.Some of you know I was a climbing guide for a decade, and that would have never crossed my mind as an option I'd come up with thinking about careers in my head! I was on track to get my degree in psychology then go to grad school for my PhD.But one day, a guy I was teaching a beginner's rock climbing course with said, “Hey, you should apply to Outward Bound.”I never thought I could do that, but I applied and got the job. The youngest woman ever hired by that branch at the time. And that led to more jobs. Then, voila! Climbing guide.Or like when I did an ice climbing clinic in Ouray, Colorado and wandered into a group of women who signed up for a program with a life coach and I was like, what's that? And I called the coach up and asked where she studied to be a coach and voila! Life coach!So yeah. Wandering is the shit!One of the things that I was introduced to during my yearlong apprenticeship with Bill Plotkin and Sage Magdalene is ETCs, or “experiential threshold crossings.” ETCs are practices for embodying our mythopoetic identity before we're ready to choose a delivery system for our unique Soul purpose. This could be a career, a practice for creativity, a free offering to your community…These practices reshape our Ego to be a channel for that identity. They bridge the transcendental experience we had and this future delivery system to embody your Soul as a gift to others.I've found that most of the time we need to get clear through action - get out of our heads and stop thinking that we can think our way to clarity and instead get out there and DO shit to get more clear.Wander.The gift of wandering really need to be embraced, because one of the most profound and enriching gifts we can give ourselves is the freedom to explore, question, and navigate the myriad options that shape our purpose.That word - purpose - carries a lot of weight for many of us. We long for it because until it's clear, we often feel untethered, searching for direction.And because modern industrialized society isn't set up to help us discover it, it's elusive. It would rather we stay obedient cogs in the corporate wheel. This environment makes seeking our purpose both an inspiring adventure AND a potential source of seep suffering and frustration.It's in this kind of labyrinth of choices that I really started to resonate with a quote from poet Ranier Maria Rilke, “Live the question.” Rilke encourages us to embrace the ambiguity and uncertainty of this epic adventure!When we're exploring our purpose, it's essential that we start asking lots of questions - deep ones that do more than just keep us on the surface. And instead of rushing to answers, we want to try to savor the questions themselves, because that is true exploration.This gives us the gift of curiosity. We learn to view uncertainty and not knowing as an opportunity for growth and discovery.But here's the paradox: when we see a bunch of paths to walk down, the pressure to choose one can be overwhelming.What if, instead of being restricted to a single destiny, we allowed ourselves to explore all the things? What if we took the time to wander and explore?But there's resistance to this, right? We sort of judge wandering as purposeless meandering through life. It suggests a lack of direction.What if we reconsidered wandering as a form of purpose in itself? What if the act of exploring without a predetermined destination held its own value?This doesn't mean wandering has to be aimless. It can be more of a dance, be open to what arises, which can often lead us to the unexpected - and surprisingly delightful - discoveries.As for getting clear about our purpose, it's good to have a beginner's mind and be willing to adapt and shift with the skandas of life, the ebb and flow of our evolving purpose. This helps us not get stuck in some box of rigid goals.It helps us discover the inability to reinvent ourselves and our purpose as new things are revealed to us. It helps us discover our authentic selves.I found this was - actually, IS -  so true for me as I peel away layers of conditioning to discover even more layers of authenticity that lie deeper than I ever imagined. It's a really cool process.Another important piece to this is being patient - with both our wandering and our perspective about our purpose. This frees us from comparison and expectation. We also no longer seek to fulfill the dreams of others but to live authentically.In the end, I've found that our purpose unfolds over time, weaving together the threads of our life's journey. Like what I did always seemed to take some threads from what I did before (and now).This process gives us permission to evolve, to make mistakes, and to grow. We learn to appreciate the imperfections and detours, recognizing that they are integral to our journey.Finding a balance between action and patience allows us to navigate our purpose with intention and commitment. We learn to discern when to pause and when to move forward.So how can we begin to incorporate the wisdom of living the question into our daily lives? I could go on and on about this, but here are some suggestions to start:Consider shadowing someone in a field you're interested in.Plan time to adventure and meet new people and have conversations - you never know what will arise!Allow quiet time for reflection and insight.
