Kdyby dnes stála, vypadaly by dějiny evropské architektury nejspíš úplně jinak. Vyrobilo Centrum raně středověkých studií při Semináři dějin umění Masarykovy univerzity.S finanční podporou Aukčního domu Zezula,Scénář: Ivan Foletti a Jiří MacháčekZvukový záznam: Katarína KravčíkováZvuková postprodukce: Jakub KrausZnělka: Jakub Kraus Hosted on Acast.

Es to vēl atceros kā ogļu pagrabu, vēlāk tur atradās keramikas glabātuve.

The fabulous Rebecca Coleman & Nicole Seymour join me to chat about the sparkly, clingy, joyful, irritating, enchanting paradox that is glitter!A few years ago I attended a zoom lecture by Dr Rebecca Coleman about her long-term research project into glitter. A project which was initiated following a collaging workshop with young girls, organised by Coleman.. It was witnessing the allure of glitter as a material in this workshop, as well as how glitter was appearing for weeks afterwards, lingering at the bottom of a bag, or attached to belongings and clothing, that led her to follow some of these themes further..Rebecca is a professor at the school of School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies and Bristol Digital Futures Institute at the University of Bristol, with research crossing media, cultural studies and feminist theoryRebecca recommended that we invite Nicole Seymour to join us in this conversation.. Nicole works in the environmental humanities, asking how literature and other cultural forms – from documentary film to stand-up comedy – mediate our relationship to environmental crisis. Her latest book, Glitter, is an environmental-cultural history of that substance from Bloomsbury's “Object Lessons” series. She is professor of English and graduate advisor of environmental studies at California State University at Fullerton.I am officially a mega fan of Beckie and Nicole, they are both iconic. They do such a good job of maintaining the enjoyment of glitter while taking it seriously as a subject.. Javornický hřbitovní kostel sv. Kříže patří k nejstarším sakrálním stavbám ve Slezsku. Je to fascinující kombinace románského a gotického stavitelství pocházející z dob samotného počátku osídlení zdejšího kraje. Počátky kostela pravděpodobně sahají do poloviny 13. století a ze středověku se zde dodnes dochovaly krásné fresky prozrazující uměleckou dovednost i vnímání duchovního života z pozice našich dávných předků.

Laila Shereen Sakr's book Arabic Glitch: Technoculture, Data Bodies, and Archives (Stanford UP, 2023) explores an alternative origin story of twenty-first century technological innovation in digital politics—one centered on the Middle East and the 2011 Arab uprisings. Developed from an archive of social media data collected over the decades following the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, this book interrogates how the logic of programming technology influences and shapes social movements. Engaging revolutionary politics, Arab media, and digital practice in form, method, and content, Laila Shereen Sakr formulates a media theory that advances the concept of the glitch as a disruptive media affordance. She employs data analytics to analyze tweets, posts, and blogs to describe the political culture of social media, and performs the results under the guise of the Arabic-speaking cyborg VJ Um Amel. Playing with multiple voices that span across the virtual and the real, Sakr argues that there is no longer a divide between the virtual and embodied: both bodies and data are physically, socially, and energetically actual. Are we cyborgs or citizens—or both? This book teaches us how a region under transformation became a vanguard for new thinking about digital systems: the records they keep, the lives they impact, and how to create change from within. Laila Shereen Sakr is Assistant Professor of Media Theory and Practice at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Tugrul Mende holds an M.A in Arabic Studies. What impact did the 2011 Arab Uprisings have on our use of technology? How should we approach, regulate and manage technologies as they emerge? And is it really possible to make political predictions by analysing tweets? We talk about cross-cultural communication, her book ‘Arabic Glitch: Techno Culture, Data Bodies and Archives' and using machine learning to predict the fall of Qaddafi. She explains what sentiment analysis actually means and how she grapples with existential anxiety. We also discuss why she sees the Arab World as the nexus of the technology era and not Silicon Valley. Laila Shereen Sakr, better known to some as VJ Um Amel, is an Egyptian-American digital media theorist and artist. She is the founder of the digital lab, R-Shief, which is “one of the largest repositories of Arabic-language tweets”. Laila is also an assistant professor of Film and Media Studies, as well as a Faculty Affiliate in the Feminist Studies Department at the University of California.Created & hosted by Mikey Muhanna, afikra Edited by: Ramzi RammanTheme music by: Tarek Yamani https://www.instagram.com/tarek_yamani/About Outline:Outline is a process-focused conversation that looks at guests' individual projects rather than their full bodies of work. The conversation sketches the journey of the project; the spark of curiosity that led to the project, the process of implementing the idea, the struggles that emerged throughout the implementation, and the aftermath of the project that includes new questions and new ideas. The name “Outline” stems from the idea of creating a retroactive project outline which is part of a broader emphasis on the process of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking from a nuts and bolts perspective. Outline is not discipline-specific; the series will be held with artists, academics, writers, filmmakers, among others. We aim to collectively reframe the dominant narrative of the region by exploring the histories and cultures of the region- past, present, and future - through conversations driven by curiosity. Read more about us on  afikra.com

This week, new host Cindy Juyoung Ok speaks with Omar Sakr, who joins us from Sydney, Australia. Sakr tends to the in between, writing prose and poetry, and moving between poetic and political urges, and through queerness and diasporic experience. On this episode, we spend time with a series from Sakr's newest collection, Non-Essential Work (UQP, 2023). The series, “On Finding the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Dante's Inferno,” reflects on and challenges Canto XXVIII, in which Dante comes upon the Prophet in the eighth level of hell. You can read three poems from the series in the June 2023 issue of Poetry. We also continue our new segment, in which guests answer a question from the void, and the episode ends with a surprise visitor.

Do you struggle to forgive? Have you ever felt stuck in resentment, hurt and anger? Do you fall into the trap of withholding forgiveness because you feel justified in your pain? In this week's episode of The Genius Podcast, host Karen Doyle is joined by guest Bridget Sakr. Bridget and her family experienced unimaginable loss when a drunk driver ran down seven children one evening. Four of those children were killed and three injured. The two families who both lost half their family in one night, have become an extraordinary example of the power of forgiveness. This is a sacred story which shows on full display the fruit of a life embedded in Christ. And the power of forgiveness.

Our goal is to fire you up for your own business and shorten your pathway to profit while you make a positive impact on your audience.  Top Takeaways from the Episode Validate your ideas with the right people. Test your ideas with your market, not friends and family who will likely sugar coat their feedback to the detriment of your project.  Even flops bear fruit. Lessons learned and skills developed in a failed project or launch often become the foundations for your next success.  Shorten your timeline of production. Taking too long to release a project may result in a disjointed bundle instead of a focused product from start to finish.  Collaborate with communication. Clearly understand your roles and commitments when working on projects with partners.  Edit ruthlessly, but don't delete anything. Give yourself permission to trim your content by saving extraneous material in a “for later” folder.
