Recall a time when you felt deeply loved and cared for—whether from a person, pet, or a meaningful experience. Instead of focusing on the memory itself, notice where love manifests in your body—warmth in your chest, a tingling in your hands, a soft smile, or gentle relaxation. Show Notes: -Reason one: The 80/20 rule. 80% of your thoughts, feelings, actions and habits are a result of the information that's being communicated form your body to your brain. Only 20% comes from your brain; yet we are often told that our mindset is the number one important thing. If we're only using our minds or letting our minds always lead, we are missing 80% of the puzzle as to what's really happening inside of us. -Reason two: Story follows state. The thought and ideas we have about what's possible is the result of the state of our nervous system. Whatever state we're operating from dictates our thoughts. -Reason three: The body speaks a different languag ; “felt sense”'; if we only use our mind, we are missing all the important cues and information that our bodies are trying to communicate with us. -Reason four: Our body is a show system, not a tell system. It must be shown and not simply told what is safe. -Reason five: The body remembers what the mind forgets. -Our minds are important, but our bodies and nervous systems must be prioritized in order to achieve our desires in a way that feels easeful, more fulfilling and more sustainable. Exercise gives your brain a “bubble bath of neurochemicals,” says Wendy Suzuki, a professor of neural science. Exercise can have surprisingly transformative impacts on the brain, according neuroscientist Wendy Suzuki. It has the power not only to boost mood and focus due to the increase in neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenaline, but also contributes to long-term brain health. Exercise stimulates the growth of new brain cells, particularly in the hippocampus, improving long-term memory and increasing its volume. Suzuki notes that you don't have to become a marathon runner to obtain these benefits — even just 10 minutes of walking per day can have noticeable benefits. It just takes a bit of willpower and experimentation. When we mindfully tense and then release our muscles, our bodies are telling our brains to relax. Try this practice that's proven to help with depression, anxiety, and stress. Soften your gaze and turn your attention towards your feet. When inhaling, tense your feet as much as you can for no more than 10 seconds. Then exhale and release your feet and toes, noticing the feelings of relaxation as you untense. Repeat this process of tensing and releasing different parts of your body, working upwards from your legs to your torso, all the way to your upper body, arms and face. At first, it triggered feelings of distress for her. But after recently being diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder, Nelufar was able to reframe her relationship to the exercise. By separating the sensation of tensing from stress, she completed the practice feeling empowered and euphoric. Once it's done, then you'll take a break. You've got a deadline. There's so much to get done. You've just got to focus. You can stare at a screen. You can force yourself to focus (or try to). You want to get it accomplished SOOOO badly it hurts. Once it's done, then you'll go on vacation. After you get it accomplished, then you'll go on a date night with your partner. But what if it's never done? That feeling of always having something to get done, does it ever go away on its own? Doesn't it feel as if every time you get close to getting it all done, something else gets added to the list and the "done-ness" just keeps getting moved further and farther away? A year or so ago I had something I was working on that HAD to get done. After about 30 minutes I noticed that instead of actually working on the project, I was bouncing between screens, appearing to be busy, but in reality, I was getting NOTHING done. I could feel the tension building inside because I was both frustrated that I wasn't getting it done and knew how much it needed to get done. But I felt so out of flow. It felt forced. And in that forced feeling, I wasn't getting anything really accomplished. But there was a still small voice inside that told me "go practice yoga." It feels irrational. It feels unproductive to stop "working" and actually go do some yoga. What would you have done? Would you have felt too guilty to stop and go practice yoga while you had a mounding list of stuff with a deadline to get it done, or would you have stuck grinding it out? Either way, there's no right or wrong. But if you're curious about how you can use your body to actually get you better results in business and tap into your flow, this week's podcast is for you. We are made to worship and if our worship isn't intentionally directed at God throughout our days there are tons of things that can take His place. Fitness is one of those things that can easily become a "religion" in our lives - I know this from personal experience! If our energy, time, attention, and thought space is constantly being directed toward our physical being, there is a good chance that fitness is starting to compete with our faith in God. We all need regular reminders that we are perfectly made in God's image. In today's world, it is so easy to get wrapped up in finding your worth in your appearance. In this episode, I share my personal journey with idolizing my appearance and releasing that as I grew with God through my 20s; from the bondage of an eating disorder to then idolizing my ability to perform, and finally stepping into the freedom of simply taking care of my body so that I can steward it for God's kingdom. We bear unbelievable hardships for this body that we cherish more than anything. We keep it clean, spend lots of money on clothes and food for it, spend time exercising, doing hard work for money, and so much worry and fears taking care of the body. This is the same for billionaires and poor people, there is so much discontentment and dissatisfaction, we try to get everything we can from the world, we try to find happiness but we experience continual physical and mental problems, relationship, and business problems. In spite of all these hardships we bear for the body, one day we will die, Lama Zopa Rinpoche explains in this teaching given on December 17 from Kopan Monastery during the fifty-third lamrim meditation course. All of these efforts and hardships we undertake for our body, if done with attachment to this life, becomes negative karma. It is so difficult to think of future lives, we can't bear it. We don't think of impermanence-death in everyday life. Every day we think we are going to live many years. Even on the same morning that we die, we may think this. We cheat ourselves bearing hardships for this body, which we only have for this one life.Rather than using this body to obtain things that have no meaning, we can use it and bear all hardships to practice Dharma, for the happiness of future lives. If we postpone our Dharma practice, we have no way of knowing how long we are going to live. Some people think they will practice Dharma only when they are old. But there's no guarantee we will ever become old.Rinpoche explains the benefits of receiving lungs (oral transmissions) and the motivation for receiving them. Rinpoche then offers those in attendance the oral transmissions of “Calling the Guru from Afar,” and the Dorje Khadro fire puja (at 1:30:52 in the video).

Are you stuck in a conflict with someone or something in your life? Does it feel difficult or even impossible to resolve? You may have never considered that you can use your own body to open a flow of communication and harmony. And what is it actually all for. The body is the subconscious mind and the body is where lived experiences, emotions, stagnant energy are stored- and some are very much alive within us! The path to liberating ourselves into higher levels of consciousness is through the body. This has been a pivotal part of Jayme's transformational journey- and she shares her journey of dropping out of the mind and beginning to access the body. She explains that she read all the books, listened to all the podcasts and did all the personal development work- but there were a few pieces that she could “never seem to” figure out- and one of them was that she could understand all of the concepts- but what we she supposed to “act on”? And in that, she realized she was still looking for something outside of herself to find a purpose, to light her internal fire. “If you don't allow yourself to feel all the feelings- even the pain, the discomfort, the fear- you cut yourself off from feeling all the high vibrational feelings- the joy, the ecstasy, the freedom” The power of mindset work and belief work has been an integral part of the beginning of her journey, but what it doesn't do is change the experiences stored in your body( she likens it to running up against a glass ceiling if you avoid the body). On the Secret Witch Show today I vulnerably freestyle on the topic of how to use our body's sensations as a compass for life. I had in mind to talk about desires in this episode, but had an unexpected change as I shared from the heart on what was present for me about how it is necessary to go into our darkness to find our gold and express our Soul's truth. In this episode I illuminate how without honouring the sensations we experience in our darkness, we can't begin to fully feel the sensations of Soulful aliveness. I explore how there is always a price to pay for either ignoring our bodies calls or diving into them to feel them fully - and how the benefits of diving in far outweigh the suppression of sensation we are used to in our modern culture. Finally, I invite you into the deepest unconditional love of your body - in all its sensation, and to harness it as a powerful and wise messenger. What You'll Learn from this Episode: It is a huge part of magical women's journeys to suppress and numb their body's sensations in this culture - and yet, we have the choice to choose out of that in order to create a magical life. Through the magical lens, sensation is a powerful messenger, and we can learn to communicate with our bodies and harness their wisdom to heal - we are our own medicine To fully feel the aliveness of Soul we must be willing to give ourselves permission to really descend into our darkness to alchemise it into gold; that can be inconvenient and messy and painful - we can have to deal with feelings of pain, shame, guilt and fear - but it's also the only path worth walking if we desire to live a magical life Only when we are willing to descend - even if we take it very softly and gently - can we be fully living our truth and able to shine our light into the world Often, our gold is found in the depths of our wounds - and that can be so beneficial for others and allow them to heal and alchemise too, so your darkness is a gift for the world.
