In this episode, Wellington and Savon are joined by special guest Kevin Garcia, a good friend of the show, to discuss Dak Prescott's recent injury and him being out for multiple weeks because of it. They also discuss early concerns for the Cardinals and Packers plus if the Chargers could be a legitimate dark horse in the AFC. Next, they review Ari Lennox's new album age/sex/location and discuss the high-level production and also did this measure up to her last album. They also review Domo Genesis' latest album Genesis' Intros, Outros and Interludes plus close out with a review of KAYTRANADA and Anderson Paak's new song “Twin Flame” and analyze how the artists collaborated along with the sly vocals from Anderson Paak. In the second half, they review Above the Rim, the 1994 sports drama film co-written and directed by Jeff Pollack in his directorial debut. Starring Tupac Shakur, Duane Martin, Marlon Wayans and Leon Robinson, they dive into how this film contained a memorable Tupac performance and also was not a typical sports movie but highlighted talent being corrupted by the street game. Finally, they discuss the quality level of basketball that was played, Birdie's menacing character and how the realism of this film; is what made it ahead of it's time and a more relatable 90's film.

Tyler, the Creator is one of the most important rap/R&B artists of recent history. He was raised in the age of high speed internet and memes and carved out his own niche in rap and skate culture, along with his fellow cohorts in Odd Future. They helped usher in a new era of Adult Swim, with their antics on Loiter Squad, and before they were even out of their teens, Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, and the rest were household names for any hoodlums that were doing the exact same shit. Although they created a lot together, some members, like Tyler immediately rose to his own prominence with his solo efforts, including "Yonkers" from his first album, with the infamous music video where Tyler appears to eat a cockroach. But that was just his first stop on the way to becoming Flower Boy, then finally IGOR. Who know's what he'll do next? Today we have on Gus Chambers from the Rockford, IL band The Bitter Ends!!! Nostalgia, Ultra (stylized as nostalgia,ULTRA. and occasionally nostalgia/ultra) is the debut mixtape by American recording artist Frank Ocean. It was released on February 16, 2011. Ocean was inspired to make the mixtape, after Hurricane Katrina in his native New Orleans and his subsequent relocation to Los Angeles. After joining alternative hip hop group Odd Future in 2010, he self-released the mixtape, without initial promotion. Nostalgia, Ultra has a unique R&B aesthetic and features surreal themes and nostalgic lyrics. The songs mostly focus on interpersonal relationships, personal reflection, and social commentary. Following its release, the mixtape received rave reviews from music critics. The cover features a picture of a bright orange 1980s BMW E30 M3, Ocean's "dream car", in plain sight amidst lush greenery. In May 2011, Def Jam announced its plans to release the mixtape as an EP on July 26, 2011. However, the release of the EP was indefinitely delayed in July 2011 and has since been cancelled. Two singles were released from the aborted EP version: "Novacane", and "Swim Good". Both songs received music videos directed by Australian director Nabil Elderkin. Ocean embarked on a solo concert tour through North America and Europe to promote the record, playing a total of 7 shows. In addition, his 2012 performance at the Coachella Music Festival included several live renditions from the release including "Strawberry Swing" and "LoveCrimes". The mixtape appeared on several music critics' and publications' end-of-year albums lists. Controversy arose in March 2012 over the song "American Wedding", a remake of the song "Hotel California" by American rock band Eagles. Recording artist Kanye West was reportedly a fan of the mixtape, which led to Ocean appearing on the album Watch the Throne. Subsequently, Ocean collaborated with artists Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z after they were introduced to the mixtape through West. Following its release, both Ocean and the mixtape have developed a cult following. The mixtape was followed by the release of Ocean's debut album Channel Orange to similar critical acclaim in 2012. Frank Ocean was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He made the decision to pursue a career in music at a young age, and as a teen, he did neighborhood chores to fund his early studio sessions. After Hurricane Katrina hit his hometown of New Orleans, Ocean moved to Los Angeles to pursue a recording career. He initially had problems maintaining a career while juggling a job, due to spending too much time in the recording studios, making him late for his jobs. He began to write songs and he sold them to other recording artists; selling his first song to Noel Gourdin at the age of 19. Discussing as to why he chose to write songs, Ocean commented that "I feel at a higher level of consciousness when I'm being creative." Eventually, he landed songwriting gigs for established artists like John Legend and Justin Bieber where he made substantially more money. In late 2009, he met producer Tricky Stewart, who helped Ocean sign a contract with Def Jam Recordings as a solo artist. However, he was initially unable to build a relationship with the company. In protest, Ocean joined the rap collective Odd Future which introduced him to artists such as Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats. His debut song was "SteamRoller" on the Domo Genesis album Rolling Papers. Ocean garnered acclaim and generated interest while in the group, and Rolling Stone magazine's Jonah Weiner called him a "gifted avant-R&B smoothie". During his time with the group he recorded and self-released Nostalgia, Ultra without any pre-release promotion on his Tumblr account. The mixtape samples songs from Radiohead, Coldplay, MGMT, Mr. Hudson and The Eagles, which Ocean sings over. Ocean, when uploading the album to iTunes, labeled it as bluegrass and death metal, out of arbitrariness. When asked about why he uploaded the songs in that way, he replied; "I don't want to se --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/king-public-domain/support

La escasez de nuevos discos ya es un hecho y por eso esta semana repasamos uno de los álbumes favoritos del año de Sergi, Sinner Get Ready de Lingua Ignota. Tyler, the Creator vs Ed Sheeran Artists Covered: Daisy World, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator, Domo Genesis, Maneskin, Teezo Touchdown, Brent Faiyaz, Fana Hues, DJ Drama, Ariana Grande, DaBaby, Lil Wayne, 42 Dugg, Nio Garcia, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Lil Uzi Vert, Pharrell Williams, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Ty Dolla $ign, The Weeknd, and Ed Sheeran. Sorry for the delay in releasing this week's episode. This is mainly a Tyler, the Creator album bomb from his latest album, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. An album I recently reviewed. Also, Anchor's in app editing tool has basically become useless though and made this episode an unnecessary mess to edit... Anyways I figured out what I'm going to be doing now to get around that, but yeah, not a fun time editing this week's episode. Either way, hope everyone enjoys! Tyler, the Creator Releases New Album Call Me If You Get Lost. The Igor follow-up features Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Pharrell, 42 Dugg, DJ Drama, Ty Dolla $ign, Domo Genesis, NBA YoungBoy, and more. Tyler, the Creator has released his new album Call Me If You Get Lost. According to Spotify, the album includes guest spots from Lil Wayne (“Hot Wind Blows”), Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell (“Juggernaut”), Ty Dolla $ign and YoungBoy Never Broke Again (“WusYaName”), 42 Dugg (“Lemonhead”), Domo Genesis (“Manifesto”), and more. DJ Drama is heavily featured across the album, and Jamie xx is credited as a co-producer on “Rise!” In an Instagram story, Tyler noted Jay Versace's contribution to “Safari.” Call Me If You Get Lost is the follow-up to Tyler, the Creator's 2019 Grammy-winning LP Igor, which took home the Best Rap Album trophy at the 2020 awards ceremony. Tyler's new album was preceded by a number of teasers, beginning with a series of billboards that appeared in cities like Los Angeles, London, Paris, Berlin, and more. The billboards were emblazoned with the LP title (before it had been announced), and featured a hotline number that led to a mysterious pre-recorded message. Tyler then shared a teaser titled “Side Street” which also made reference to the album title. Following his initial teasers, Tyler shared visuals for two songs from Call Me If You Get Lost: “Lumberjack” and “WusYaName.” Earlier this week, Tyler shared yet another teaser; a skit called “Brown Sugar Salmon.” What's going on Internet, Analytic here aka Dreamz and I would like to welcome you to mine, which I call the Notorious Mass Effect Podcast!
