In this episode, I talk to the great comedian, SALLYANN FELLOWES. With a sting of comedy awards, including the Leicester Square New Comedian of The Year 2023, Fellowes is an extremely likeable and warm comedian on stage with a very biting and hilarious wit. A regular on the UK comedy circuit, including solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, she has intelligent and creative comic views that leave the audience crying with laughter. I have seen Fellowes as a guest for Collywobblers Comedy in 2022, Happy Mondays Comedy in 2023 and for the Sofa So Funny! showcase in 2023 and 2024. Thank you so much for listening to my podcast, if you like what you hear, please subscribe and I hope you enjoy the interview. On the eve of his trip to Bogota, Prince Harry loses his Chief of Staff..Harry will not attend the funeral of his uncle Robert Fellowes, who passed away on July 29 at the age of 82. Fellowes, the husband of Princess Diana's sister Lady Jane, had a distinguished career serving Queen Elizabeth II as her private secretary. Despite the familial connection, Harry's absence from the funeral is reportedly due to ongoing security concerns in the U.K. Harry's concerns about his safety in the U.K. have been well-documented, and he has expressed reluctance to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, back to the country due to these fears. The couple is currently focusing on their visit to Colombia, which they apparently find safer than London.TAGS 4 Unlock an ad-free podcast experience with Caloroga Shark Media! Julian Fellowes, creator of Downton Abbey, Belgravia and Gosford Park, has recorded a special version of the festive poem ‘The Night Before Christmas' for visually impaired children to enjoy this Christmas. Lord Fellowes is a Vice President of the RNIB as well as President of the RNIB's Talking Books Library. He was delighted to record the poem, which is a festive favourite of his. He is passionate about ensuring literature is accessible to all visually impaired children living across the UK. RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey caught up with Julian just after he had recorded the reading of the poem The Night Before Christmas to find out why he first started supporting the work of the RNIB and what it means to him being a Vice President of the RNIB and President of the RNIB Talking Books Library. Toby began by asking Julian when he first came across the poem The Night Before Christmas, whether the poem was a favourite of the Fellowes family and one that he remembered hearing or reading as a child. Julian then gave Toby an insight into some of the Fellowes family Christmas traditions, before talking about writing for both film and television and answering that question we all might have as to whether we will see the Crawley family again on the small or big screen. Lord Fellowes' reading of The Night Before Christmas is now available on DAISY CD and USB sticks from RNIB's Talking Books Library or as a download through the RNIB's Reading Services website - https://readingservices.rnib.org.uk (Please note that you must be a member of the RNIB's Talking Books Library and RNIB's Reading Services to access the recording of the reading.) Lord Fellowes' reading of The Night Before Christmas will also be broadcast on RNIB Connect Radio during the last hour of the Afternoon Edition show on Friday 22 December between 5pm - 6pm and again on Christmas Eve at 8pm. Image shows Toby and Julian, who is holding a red book, stood side by side in front of the RNIB Connect logo

Resilience has a major impact on mental health, productivity, agility and sense of belonging, which is why the Better Being series aims to address the actions we can take to build both team and individual resilience. Scott and Fellowes are back in time for Royal Ascot… the chaps have dusted down their top hats and tails. But before they head off to Berkshire for the magnificent five-day Flat bonanza, they talk through their respective teams for the meeting. There's a few differing opinion on the week's major races and there's also some disagreement on how the Ashes might unfold. Bring on the very best of sport and settle back for a golden summer… hopefully!
Not sure we've ever had a podcast episode featuring such an array of different subjects. The diverse menu of colourful conversation is very much down to our brilliant guest Emma Banks, who owns the magnificent Lady Bowthorpe. There is loads about Lady B, of course. But there's also stories that start off, ‘I remember I was in Bogota with Florence and The Machine' – as you do. For Emma is a music agent with a client roster of many big-name stars. So there's a fascinating insight into her world – and somehow there's even chat about her beloved Luton Town FC. Fellowes and Scott have been enjoying success on the track, which makes for the useful banter. Plus, they cast their eye over the upcoming Guineas Festival and flag up horses from their own stables to watch out for in the next few weeks. As always, it's an episode that's well worth a listen. Thanks to our pals Fitzdares for their much-appreciated ongoing support.
Welcome to the Native Digital Native Analog Show, where today's episode is one that will deeply touch your heart and soul. Our guest, James Fellowes, shares his journey of unraveling and rebuilding after a diagnosis of bipolar disorder, while also co-founding a company that has placed over 75,000 people with incredible abilities into meaningful careers. But this episode is even more special as we welcome my sister, Sam, who was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, to join in the conversation. Get ready to be profoundly impacted and to open your mind to a level of empathy you didn't think was possible. Let's jump in and join this special conversation in My Den. From Privileged to Poverty James had everything going for him, but then everything came crashing down. He recounts his privileged upbringing, his successful career in the drinks industry, and his seemingly perfect family life. However, in 2008, things began to unravel for him... “This dawned on me. Having been white male and exceptionally privileged. I'd never heard any kind of or experienced any kind of barrier to employment in my entire life...”-James Fellowes This was when his mental health began to suffer. He lost his confidence and struggled to operate in any way. He couldn't even turn on his computer and found himself staring out of the window. Despite this, he found hope through therapy and the support of his family, and he now works to help others going through similar struggles. “And I started rebuilding my life again. And I was like, “Okay, we can start again, you know, bottom of the snakes and ladder”. - James Fellowes Navigating the Future of Talent in the AI Age James and I discussed how employers should view the future of talent, given the shifting landscape where AI surpasses our expectations. “I think this (AI) makes this talent pool even more strategically vital. Because if AI can do what typical talent can do, but much better and working 24/7 and various other things.” -- James Fellowes And James points out that managers need to start thinking about all different types of diversity, not just gender and ethnicity. Embracing Diversity in the Workplace Neurodiversity includes talents like those with autism, who have attention to detail and focus, and dyslexics who are extremely creative. James said, "if you have gone through a system that's designed to put you down, tell you you're stupid, and you have gotten through that, well, you must be bloody good." People who have lived through difficult experiences also bring unique experiences to the table that cannot be replicated by AI Therefore, it is crucial for companies to embrace diversity and seek out untapped talent pools to get ahead. If you want to catch the full conversation, be sure to listen to the complete podcast. About James Fellowes In 2018 James was made redundant for the fifth time in 8 years. It was then that he had an epiphany: to leave the corporate world to try and change the world! He co-founded Bridge of Hope Careers to create the missing link between ‘untapped talent' and inclusive employers seeking to expand their talent pool. He's a proud dad of three, an unshakable optimist and an obsessive wild swimmer. Connect with James Fellowes

There's always lots of chat on our WhatsApp group about who we should invite on as a special guest. Funny, entertaining, informative and opinionated are among the key qualities on the criteria list. Our latest guest ticks all those boxes and plenty more. In an engaging conversation with George and Charlie, renowned racing broadcaster Matt Chapman fires straight from the lip on a number of subjects. He also gives us the lowdown on his backstory. All in all, it makes for a fascinating listen. There's also plenty to catch up on from the worlds of Scott and Fellowes; the latter tells the former “When you know, you know” when it comes to identifying smart two-year-old prospects in his string. Charlie also laments his Masters' golf bets and fears for his beloved Nottingham Forest's Premier League future. Meanwhile, George's enthusiasm is even higher than usual after a streak of success at Wolverhampton – and the full-on arrival of the Turf season as the first Classics loom ever closer.
With winter behind us (just about!), it's almost time for the Turf season – and that means Scott and Fellowes are back for a fifth series of Off The Bridle. In the first episode of 2023 we welcome to the podcast a star of 2022; jockey Dan Muscutt reflects on his breakout year in which he rode 127 winners, including a first-ever Group 1 triumph. There's also a second big-name guest with Ed Crisford on the line from Dubai, talking about leading World Cup contender Algiers. As well as chatting to Dan and Ed, George and Charlie are back with all the banter that reflects their professional rivalry and friendship. Listen and enjoy…!

Following the success of the 2019 film "Downton Abbey," the cast returned for a sequel, penned once again by series creator Julian Fellowes, titled "Downton Abbey: A New Era," which was just released in theaters this weekend. It's a welcome return to a cast of characters we know and love so well by this point that any time we spend with them is truly a gift. Actors Laura Carmichael and Allen Leech see it that way as well, as they reprise their roles as Lady Edith and Tom Branson. Along with Fellowes, the two of them were kind enough to spend some time talking with us about returning to their characters, discussing what they're going through in this film and what lies ahead. Catbird's Leigh Plessner joins us to discuss the 1931 novella Sundays and its fascinating author, French socialite Daisy Fellowes. Heiress to the Singer sewing machine fortune, Fellowes was the Paris editor of the American Harper's Bazaar and muse to the likes of Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Salvador Dali. In this week's exciting edition of the BFG Week in Review podcast, Neal Pollack expresses his disdain for the work of Julian Fellowes. He and contributor Matthew Ehrlich do a little Google search and cannot figure out whether or not Fellowes is gay or just very British. Regardless, his new HBO show ‘The Gilded Age‘ is a real turkey. Matthew pans the acting, writing, and costumes. He closes his segment with a dramatic comparison between The Gilded Age and the 1986 “gay porn classic” The Pizza Boy: He Delivers. Then Rachel Llewellyn stops by the podcast hamlet to talk with Neal about ‘The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window,' starring Kristen Bell. The show has people wondering: Is it a parody of bad “mom in peril” novels from the last decade? Or Netflix crime procedurals? Of both? Does it actually take itself seriously? Neal admitted that he was unable to watch all eight episodes but still got the gist. He and Rachel both found themselves vaguely interested in tuning into the inevitable Season 2.Finally, Sara Stewart comes in to talk about Jackass Forever. There's something quite touching, she says, watching this worse-for-the-wear crew continue to hurtle itself into oblivion and hit themselves in the nuts. Mortality is near, and they are still hilarious. However, she does think that the Jackass franchise should re-examine how it treats animals. Fair enough.Enjoy the show!
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused immense hardship over the past year and a half, but out of crises, opportunity arises, as our guest today knows from all the time she has spent steeped in 1920's archives. This has given her a hopeful outlook for the 21st century, and we all need some of her perspective in our lives! Jessica Fellowes is an author of 14 books, 5 of which were Downton Abbey companion books, and several of which made it onto the New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller lists. Jessica has been writing for a long time, first as an employee and then as a freelancer, and she really loves her work (some parts more than others). Our conversation today covers a wide range of topics; from authenticity, to celebrity interviews, to the double-edged sword of ambition. Jessica also has a lot of wisdom to share around knowing your worth, not being taken advantage of professionally, and the benefits of planning backwards. Listen in today to get a glimpse into Jessica's life; you'll walk away with valuable insights. Key Points: Jessica talks us through her writing and editing process. Positive lifestyle changes that Jessica incurred as a result of her move from the country to the city. Challenges that lockdown presented to writers. Where Jessica's interest in the between-the-wars era originated. How Jessica gains a deeper understanding of the era that she is writing about. The role that imagery plays in Jessica's writing process. Advice from Jessica about how to approach authenticity in your writing. Parallels between the 1920's and the 2020's and Jessica's thoughts about what our future might look like. Ways that the school system needs to change. Jessica's stint as a celebrity interviewer, and how she feels about the experience. What Jessica wants her life to look like in 20 years time, and the value of planning backwards from there rather than the other way around. The double-edged sword of ambition. Jessica's rule about payment, and the importance of honouring market value. Know your worth, especially as a woman. Elements that Jessica loves most about her work. Joy that Jessica's dogs bring to her life. Advice from Jessica for humans in general, and women specifically. Quotes: “I like to build big image galleries of what I think my characters might have been wearing, what they might have looked like, what cars they were driving, what the street scene might have looked like.” — [0:10:17] “You have to bear in mind that there is no one true version of what happened in the past.” — [0:11:40] “I see the 2020's as really being the beginning of how the 21st century is going to look. This is our opportunity to say, “This is how we want to do the rest of this century.”— [0:15:10] “Ambition is a good thing because it keeps you moving forward, but it can be a curse because you're never satisfied.”— [0:23:57] “If you're not getting paid in money you should be getting paid in something that is going to be of benefit to you.” — [0:26:39] Links: Website: https://www.jessicafellowes.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/jessicafellowes Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_jessicafellowes/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JessicaFellowesAuthor/ On my website: https://heidihauer.com/podcast
