Lately, the gaming industry has witnessed a trend of an increasing number of games being released in a broken state, leaving customers feeling betrayed by the false promises made by the companies. In response, game developers often issue apologies to address the dissatisfaction and frustration among players. However, some are questioning if these apologies are even warranted. ✔Twitch Channel ~ https://www.twitch.tv/DarkViperAU ✔Rambles Podcast ~ https://www.youtube.com/@ViperRambles ✔VOD Channel ~ https://www.youtube.com/@DarkViperAUVods ✔Clips Channel ~ https://www.youtube.com/@DarkViperAUClips ✔Merch ~ https://darkviperau-merch.myspreadshop.com/ ✔My Discord ~ https://discord.gg/darkviperau ✔DarkviperAU Subreddit ~ https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkViperAU ✔YouTube Membership ~ https://www.youtube.com/darkviperau/join ✔Patreon ~ https://www.patreon.com/DarkViperAU ✔Twitter ~ https://www.twitter.com/DarkViperAU ✔Instagram ~ https://www.instagram.com/DarkViperAU/ ✔TikTok ~ https://www.tiktok.com/@darkviperau ✔GTA 5 Speedrun Discord ~ https://discord.com/invite/zQt8wZg ✔Business Email ~ darkviperau@mgmtexe.com

What if you could take a microscope to some of the biggest and best companies in your space, peer inside, and see exactly what they spend for user acquisition and marketing? Would that be useful data? That's exactly what Clement Favier, Chief Operating Officer at Adikteev has been doing for massive gaming companies like Netmarble, SciPlay, and Aristocrat, owner of Product Madness and Big Fish Games. In this Growth Masterminds, we chat about UA spend, how to find it across verticals and companies you care about, and why UA cost is more than just the dollars you spend directly on app installs.
For today's show, I invited on Hermann Peterscheck, Founder and Portfolio Manager at Hypernormal Capital Management LLC. I met him recently when he participated in the Stock Pitch World Cup on Team Europe. Also a US-resident, he was on Team Europe because he was pitching a video game development company based in Europe. I started thinking about my own experience with video games, and it took me a minute because my heyday was playing FIFA and Madden on Playstation 2. Safe to say, the gaming industry has grown A LOT since then. I've also interviewed a number of MicroCap companies that would describe themselves as gaming or gaming-adjacent, and while it doesn't take a rocket scientist to recognize the explosion of video games, some of the newer entrants and business models haven't quite made a whole lot of sense to me. So, I brought on Hermann, who has 20+ years experience working and investing in the gaming industry, to cure me of my old man syndrome, and hopefully help all of us better understand how to think about investing in this space. It's October 2021. Crypto prices are rocketing. Celebrities can't stop talking about NFTs. There's packed conferences in glitzy venues attended by people wearing t-shirts with cartoon monkeys on them. If you're an executive at a big gaming studio, you might be forgiven - maybe - for sending one of those emails with the subject line: NFT strategy question mark. And several executives at these gaming companies did indeed send those emails. And some of their companies even announced plans to make blockchain gaming happen.Flash forward about a year. Celebrities aren't talking about their NFTs. People are trying to sell their Apes. And gaming studios don't seem quite so convinced that they need an NFT strategy. Joining this episode are Bloomberg reporter Emily Nicolle and Mark Venturelli, CEO and creative director at game studio Rogue Snail, who's also a game developer.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The gaming industry is experiencing rapid growth and right now the UK is the leading video game market in Europe and sixth globally. We've experienced multi-billion pound deals at the start of 2022 reinforcing the opportunity and appetite there is in the sector. However, as these gaming companies grow they need specific physical spaces to enable and support the production and creation of their products. As the industry continues to grow, where can we expect these gaming businesses to expand and can existing office stock be repurposed to provide studio space?Join Guy Ruddle and sector specialists: Rob Pearson from the Office Tenant Representation team, Emerging Trends Director Nicky Wightman and Sam Collins, Head of Commercial and Membership at UKIE, as they discuss how important it is for gaming companies to be located near talent and knowledge centres, what the specific real estate needs and requirements are for gaming companies, and how this can be met amid a shortage of stock.Further Informationhttps://www.savills.co.uk/blog/article/320050/commercial-property/the-growth-of-the-video-gaming-industry-and-the-vital-role-of-real-estate.aspxwww.ukie.org.ukwww.gamesmap.uk
