Take my dulcet tones off speaker and pop in your earbuds because today, we're talking about sex. This episode is a deep dive into what it really means to talk about sex, health, and education in ways that actually land. And a lot of it might surprise you.My guest is Dr Tristin Agtarap, a psychologist, researcher, and all-round brilliant human, who specialises in sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and the cultural factors that shape our well-being. Tris works at Brook, one of the UK's leading sexual health charities, but her work goes far beyond the sex ed you might remember from school. She brings together academic research and applied practice to create culturally responsive, person-centred approaches to health education. We talk about why sex education is never one size fits all, what cross-cultural psychology can teach us about stigma, and how platform policies and censorship are making it harder to share essential health messages. Tris also shares why sex education is something we should be revisiting across our lives – not just in Year 9 PSHE, or you know, whatever the American equivalent is.It's a conversation centred around nuance, human behaviour, and the real challenges of helping people make informed decisions in a world full of shame, silence, and misinformation. So if you're a parent, an educator, a health professional, or just a curious person who enjoys unpacking interesting topics, then this one's for you.Dig in through your earbuds, and listen to Tris get on her soapbox.Tristin's Links:Email Tris at tagtarap@icloud.comConnect with Tris on LinkedInFollow Tris on InstagramPublished Papers:Mindset and Sexual Health: Does Mindset Impact Receptiveness to Sexuality Education Curricula?Healthy Body, Healthy Mind: Exploring the Mental Health Implications of Comprehensive Sex Education Looking for more? In this candid and deeply personal episode, Beth takes the lead to discuss a topic close to her heart—body image and the challenge of making sustainable changes to weight and body composition. Stepping away from racing and performance metrics, Simon and Beth reflect on the psychological, emotional, and practical aspects of health-focused weight management, particularly for those with a history of disordered eating. Topics Discussed: Beth's personal history with scales, disordered eating, and body image Why weight and performance aren't always linked The dangers of equating “looking good” with “losing weight” How to create a sustainable and healthy relationship with food Recognising habits and making small, manageable changes The role of strength training in improving body composition and metabolism, especially over 50 Sustainability: finding a way of eating that works for you, long term Why scales can be misleading—and how to track progress without them Key Quotes: "You can love yourself and still want to change." "Sustainable changes are about what you add, not what you restrict." "Our goal isn't lifespan—it's health-span." Hello friends! Today Dave and Joel are discussing the evidence one will see when the Body of Christ is functioning as God intends. It is critical in these last days that we as a Body are actively shining with Jesus' love to the world, and this discussion focuses on how that happens.
What you're about to experience goes far beyond traditional affirmations—these are precision tools designed to create immediate shifts in your energetic field and physical reality. Traditional affirmations often operate on a superficial level, merely suggesting positive thoughts to your conscious mind. But quantum command affirmations work differently—they function as direct instructions to the quantum field that surrounds and permeates your entire being. Quantum command affirmations utilize specific linguistic structures that collapse probability waves in the quantum field. These affirmations incorporate precise power words that carry specific vibrational frequencies and operate from non-locality, the understanding that time is not linear but simultaneous. The connection between our thoughts, words, and physical health is not merely metaphysical speculation—it's supported by growing scientific evidence. When we speak healing affirmations, we activate multiple pathways of transformation within our bodies. At the most fundamental level, affirmations shift our nervous system from stress response to healing mode. Research has shown that positive, empowering statements can lower cortisol levels and increase production of healing neurotransmitters and hormones. This biochemical shift creates an internal environment where regeneration can occur naturally. What makes quantum command affirmations uniquely powerful for healing is their ability to bypass the conscious mind's resistance. Our bodies are constantly listening to our words. Each cell contains receptors that respond to the energetic frequencies we generate through our thoughts and speech. When we pronounce power words like "REGENERATE" or "HARMONIZE" with focused intention, we're literally transmitting healing frequencies to our cellular structure. The practice of speaking these affirmations creates new neural pathways in the brain, reinforcing healing patterns that eventually become automatic. Many people report experiencing immediate sensations during quantum command affirmations—warmth, tingling, pulsing energy—physical evidence that healing processes are being activated.

It can be difficult to be healthy. The best foods, supplements, and medicines can be extremely expensive, and we don't always have the time to maintain good habits. But what is the cost of neglecting one's health? Michelle Drew ended up in a medically induced coma after years of neglecting her own self-care. Doctors weren't convinced she would live, and if she did, she would likely have permanent brain damage. Miraculously, Michelle awakened from the coma three weeks later. The uphill battle of recovery was steep; she had to learn how to use her fine motor skills again and overcome dense brain fog. Today, she has made significant strides to enhance her health and take full advantage of this divine second chance. Refusal to rest and engage in healthy habits is abuse against oneself. God gifted us our bodies, and they are to be treated as sacred temples. If you have reached the point of physical, spiritual or emotional depletion, slow down, turn to the ultimate Healer (Jehovah Rapha) and take the necessary steps to nourish and revitalize yourself. Sermon by Fr. Carl Smith 3rd Sunday of Epiphany
Some of the best health strategies are the most simple and basic; unfortunately, it's the simplicity that makes them easy to quickly overlook and undervalue. As much as I love reading the newest books and most up-to-date research to stay on the leading edge of wellness and longevity, I also believe that some of the most treasured information can be obtained from hidden gems from times of yore. Even some of the most prolific research on how light impacts our health originates from the 40s, 50s and 60s, thanks to John Ott (remember those solosodes, long-time listeners?!). Not to mention, some of the most reliable health and medical strategies were produced from our ancestors thousands of years ago via Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine, to name a couple. The best techniques and approaches inevitably stand the test of time.Enter Charles Atlas, "The World's Most Perfectly Developed Man," who was a veritable biohacker way back in the early 1900s — multiple generations before the term came into use. And don't worry, this episode isn't about bodybuilding or necessarily about perfecting our physique. Rather, Charles Atlas created a program in the 1920s - 1940s that consists of a dozen separate lessons where each lesson goes over various health and wellness strategies; ranging from the mental, to the physical, to diet, to the importance of "building magnetism" and much more. In today's episode, I want to go over those approaches that I felt would be interesting and relevant to you all.Charles Atlas (born Angelo Siciliano; October 30, 1892 – December 24, 1972) was an Italian-American bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and fitness pioneer. He is best known for his mail-order fitness program and for being dubbed “The World's Most Perfectly Developed Man.” Atlas claimed he was inspired to change his body after seeing statues of Greek and Roman gods at the Brooklyn Museum. His fitness philosophy emphasized health, strength, and self-confidence. Pursuing physical health seems to have great benefits. Longer life, more enjoyment of life, compliments from friends who notice . . . But, what if the best way to become more physically healthy is to first become more spiritually, mentally, and emotionally healthy? In fact, what if a lack of spiritual, mental, or emotional health is actually keeping your body stuck in diseases or distress because you've tried to fix the problem from the outside in, instead of from the inside out? On today's podcast episode, Heather Creekmore talks about the importance of caring for our souls: our emotions, our mental health, and our spiritual health. She talks about research that shows how a failure to take care of what's going on inside may keep us fighting our bodies. As Christian women, what should take priority? Heather explores these questions and more in today's new episode. Listen, learn, and be encouraged to get healthy emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically in 2025. Senior Pastor Chuck Angel's sermon focuses on unity, as described in Ephesians 4, highlighting that unity commands God's blessing and requires intentional effort to promote peace, build durable relationships, and celebrate diversity within the church body. Psalm 133 reminds us that where there is unity, the Lord commands life and blessing, encouraging us to steward the unity created by the Holy Spirit. Special Uncharted update!
