https://youtube.com/live/mp2UvZ6AYGQ David Lee Roth has returned with another dance video, this time performing and singing along to a solo recording of Van Halen's classic hit "Panama." True to his trademark style, the videos carry a cheeky charm that echoes his stage persona. In this latest clip, Roth essentially performs karaoke with himself, using a version of "Panama" recorded during a 2022 session with the Roth Band at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood. The video begins with Roth doing a pole routine in front of random, quirky background images before transitioning to a minimalist stage setting. Here, he struts and belts out the lyrics as if performing in an empty theater. The video ends with the cryptic message: “Don't use me, rent me.” Roth provided no further context, leaving fans to speculate about its meaning. One YouTube commenter humorously summed up the experience: “Me, drunk at the bar doing karaoke.” Roth's intentions remain as enigmatic as ever, especially given his mixed statements about retirement. However, this latest performance arrives amid tension between him and Alex Van Halen. In Alex's first interview since the passing of his brother Eddie Van Halen, the drummer alleged that Roth's lack of interest in honoring Eddie ultimately derailed a planned tribute tour. “Exclusively Van Halen" is the ultimate destination for all things Van Halen. So why was it important to me to interview Alex Sanfilippo? Here's a quick summary of what Alex has been doing... “I am 100% podcasting. I'm in this industry to serve indie podcasters, and their guests to help independent voices get elevated and, as a result, help them serve the world in the way only they can. I love what I do; I believe I'm now doing what I was created to do – And I'm giving it 110% every day!" So the why, was easy. To me, the real reason to follow Alex and this specific episode, is learning the path to authenticity-which typically involves overcoming obstacles. In Alex's case, Alex openly shares his path of the power of faith. Alex found a new purpose and motivation for life that he says is the foundation of everything. Over the next two years, Alex began serving at church and even met his wife, Alecia. In addition, Alex has helped me tremendously as the founder of Podmatch. Podmatch is a podcast host's and podcast guest's "best friend" as it supports podcasts at all levels. I admire Alex's gift of giving and service- and also how freely Alex shares about himself. This is a great episode, if I do say so myself. Enjoy!! Check out podmatch.com, when you want to learn more!
Alex Walsh is the author behind the hit historical fiction book series, the Marquess House Saga. In Alex's books, she has built what I consider to be the historians dream, with a compelling and fascinating story in which a pair of sisters find their lives overturned and directly tied to significant periods of history. Consisting of dual timelines, Alex's series has reimagined the stories of some of histories most infamous women, telling alternative tales of the lives of Catherine Howard, Elizabeth I, Arbella Stuart and Jane Seymour, all of which, whilst fictitious, are plausible and so rich in detail that you can't help but think, I wish this was all true! She joins me today for a fascinating discussion about her work, her inspiration, how she came up with the series and much much more!
My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Alex Sanfilippo, founder of PodMatch, here to chat with me about podcast guesting for authors. PodMatch, is a software company specifically focused on independent podcast hosts and their guests to elevate their voices through podcasting and be heard. In addition to founding PodMatch, Alex is also the host of the top-rated podcast, Podcasting Made Simple, and is one of the most sought-after educators and public speakers in the podcasting industry. At the age of 10, Alex got his first taste of entrepreneurship when he began selling used golf balls that he would find in the lakes and woods around his neighborhood golf course. Alex immediately realized that he enjoyed generating sales and keeping track of profit margins. (Yes, an odd kid for only 10 years old!) Through many twists and turns, from a job in the aerospace field to church ministry leadership, Alex finally came back to his entrepreneurial roots with the podcast, Creating a Brand, and eventually creating the platform, PodMatch, to help podcasters find guests for their shows. In Alex's own words, “I'm in this industry to serve indie podcasters, and their guests to help independent voices get elevated and, as a result, help them serve the world in the way only they can. I love what I do; I believe I'm now doing what I was created to do – And I'm giving it 110% every day!” You can follow Alex Sanfilippo, Founder of Podmatch, at: www.podmatch.com/free Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1 #alexsanfilippo #podmatch #podcasting #podcastingforauthors #terimbrownauthor #authorpodcast #onlineforauthors #characterdriven #researchjunkie #awardwinningauthor #podcasthost #podcast #readerpodcast #bookpodcast #writerpodcast #author #books #goodreads #bookclub #fiction #writer #bookreview

Alexandra Evans joins us this week for an in person interview. Alex started her hospitality career over four decades ago in her teenage years working at a French café a few blocks from where she grew up in midtown Toronto. A few years later, Alex lied her way into a waitressing job at Toby's Goodeats - very popular burger chain in Toronto in the 1980's. Alex loved the late nights and fast cash and fast cameraderie that comes with working in the industry. Alex moved into Management at Toby's and in the early 90's joined the team at O'Tooles on Carlton St across from Maple Leaf Gardens and stayed for 3 years. Alex eventually moved on to work at a French bistro - Le Paradis - for over 12 years, then soon after got bitten by the wine bug. Alex started a wine class in 1999 that morphed into a Sommelier diploma by 2004. That diploma opened the door to a management job at Boba restaurant on Avenue Road then Celestin on Mount Pleasant. That in turn opened a bigger door to Scaramouche restaurant where she stayed for 10 years as Maitre d', Sommelier and server. Eventually, Alex retired from serving in 2019. Alex and her partner moved to Stratford Ontario in the summer of 2021 and started teaching wine and service at the Stratford Chefs School where she enjoys passing the torch to the younger generation. In March of 2022 Alex started working for Nicholas Pearce Wines as their sales representative for South West Ontario where she gets to interact and keep her foot in the door of the hospitality industry and be in bed by 10pm….. The story of phantasy (with a ‘ph') forms the basis of this latest Footnote episode, a term that is as muddy and complex as its more familiar ‘f' counterpart. Whereas ‘fantasy' is associated with carefree, escapist enjoyment in the imagination, phantasy describes a process of meaning making within the human psyche, and is a psychological act that is a regular part of our engagement with - and understanding of - the world. In Alex's 10-minute survey of the term, topics include its relationship to the language of psychoanalysis; the pleasurable frivolity and creativity of fantasy vs. phantasy's more pointed link (as a basic mechanic of how our brains work) to the imagination of situations that are not happening in front of us; and the implications of applying psychoanalytic theory and phantasy to the study of fantasy cinema. **Fantasy/Animation theme tune composed by Francisca Araujo**
Today there is so much noise. You turn on your laptop or open Social Media apps and there are more messages being thrown at us than we can keep up with. On this episode of the Lab Coat Agents Podcast, Jeff talks with a good friend of his and is a part of the Lab Coat Agents, Alex Rivlin, who also authored the book, “Static”. How do you focus on really being present where you are? Tune in! Episode Highlights: Alex Rivlin is the guest on the podcast today. He is a good friend of Jeff's and the author of a book called Static. Alex operates a team in real estate but he has been an entrepreneur for many years. He lives in Las Vegas with his girlfriend and two children. At 18, he started his first business in auto repair. He exited that business at 26 when he got into insurance. He then spun that off into a technology company, still with insurance where he grew to 165 employees in 3 years. When Alex exited that business he was looking to solve a new problem and help as many people as possible. Alex shares the reason that he got into real estate specifically. He shares the stats in Las Vegas for real estate agents- 82% of agents don't renew their license for the second year. What is it that sets apart the people that could make it? Alex first looked into developing and as he was researching and analyzing he decided he could make more of an impact in the real estate side. Success has different definitions for everybody. Alex has a passion to help people achieve what that is for them whether more money, harmony within the areas of your life, passive income, etc. Alex owns some portion of five different companies and is happy to show people the paths he has followed. Jeff talks about why people often shift to real estate. He also talks about the difference between balance and harmony. Do you feel like balance is elusive? Alex has advice about reaching for happiness. “If you're chasing happiness, it is an issue”, he says. How do you focus on really being present? Society creates our narrative and we try to measure up with it but what if it is not what's right for you and your life and family? Create your own narrative, be proud of it and own it. Jeff asks Alex to touch on tactical things that many people struggle with. When you compare the highlight reels with your behind the scenes, it's not good and it is often not what it seems. Alex shares a personal story about worry and being the person he thought everyone else expected him to be. He also shares how he navigated out of self-doubt. What is the difference between self-doubt, negative self talk, and areas of improvement? How does Social Media work along with good harmony and perspective? Alex talks about the questions he asks himself before going through with his plans, posts, etc. “Fake it till you make it” is one of Alex's least favorite things. He recommends to throw that to the trash and instead, be authentic; Be who you are. You have the aptitude and ability to do fulfilling things. Alex talks about an American socialist, Charles Cooley and how a quote of his really summarizes self identity. You don't need to be what you think others are wanting you to be. In Alex's book he goes through how the brain works and how influences shape us. Advice comes from a personal lens and personal experiences. It is important to be aware of that and consider if you should take or leave it. Static goes deep in all aspects of life, the best tools you can gain are those that help you sort through. One World in a New World with Alex Moses - Author, Coach, Entrepreneur, Venture Capitalist, Founder of Life of Love Alex began his entrepreneurial life as a teen on the streets of Italy, a refugee from Ukraine. He started washing windows to make money and his solo actions attracted another, then another and within a month he had 30 people working for him. Zen often points toward attention, intention and interaction being the core features of creating the life you want. This is a perfect example. When queried on the inner reflections he was having at the time he says he just 'loved it' along with the community of people that emerged because of it. Can you say that about your business and community around it? One thing he did notice was the sense of humility it brought; a seventeen year-old supporting those much older, along with their families. What can we learn from this? Alex notes that our learning process occurs mostly from the mistakes or poor choices we make. Success doesn't often teach us much, it's the process that does, the 'journey' as it is known. How do we capitalize on that process? Can there be simple precepts that make the complexity less complicated? How do we simply? Alex unpacks the genius of a pioneer from early last century that you'll enjoy. You might even learn something about how the complexity can be made simple in order to find success. One simple thing: Do something others aren't willing to do. How do we address the fears? Courage is fear that has said its prayers. How do we find the safety in moving through the fears? Carnegie and Ziglar were both early proponents of helping others and build empires on its value. Doubt kills more dreams than failures ever will. How do we bring 'love' back into conversations that matter in a pleasant disruption? In Alex's world, he sees love as the absence of fear, to the ability to move in any direction is easy in love. Choosing to BE in that 'love' mind flow or state of being is the key. We invite you there, now. How can we not only sustain that, and grow it into a common understanding and living awareness? It's only been in recent years that the impact of neurodiversity has been recognized as impacting work product and learning. Alex Gilbert was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia at the age of 8 due to the persistence of her mother. Listen as she shares how her neurodiverse brain has contributed to her burnout. In Alex's words, she's been working harder and harder and harder to get things right, even though her extra work rarely provides the results she wants. Society hasn't been designed with her in mind and her constant push to do and be more, directly contributed to her burnout. The constant need to do and be more however pushed her mental health to the brink. Who said robots don't have feelings? Continuing the theme of graphic love stories, this edition of MMP discusses the possibility of human and robot relationships. In a not-so-distant future where technology is everywhere and human connection seems to be less common, the protagonist of our story finds himself with a new android companion. This sci-fi style story is anchored by the realistic art style of Jonathan Luna. Will the robot serve as a sufficient substitute for actual human contact? Or has technology gone too far? Find out in this exciting twist on traditional love stories!

Kara is still stuck in the Phantom Zone. When a phantom attacks Supergirl is overwhelmed with fear. She fears if her team attempts to save her they will all die, and it would be all her fault! It has taken Brainy and Nia three days to return from Midvale with the DNA they need to pinpoint Supergirl in the fractured Phantom Zone. However, the rest of the team has not been idle. J’onn has modified the top few levels of his tower to become a ship. A vessel that has special shields for interdimensional travel and a containment unit for Prime Phantom. Lena has harnessed the power of the yellow sun into a bomb. This creation has the power to repel the phantoms and recharge Supergirl’s powers simultaneously. All is going smoothly until a breach in the containment cell allows some of Prime Phantom to affect the team. Now what stands between them and saving Supergirl is their own fear. In Alex's mind her greatest fear is being the one person who causes the mission to fail by being reckless. Lena must face the guilt she feels surrounding her mothers death. Also the thought of losing all her friends after finally being made part of the team. Nia must stop doubting herself. She is still learning and has really stepped up in Supergirl's absence. Nia must build her confidence in her dream interpretation and give herself a little grace as she continues her hero's journey. Kelly fears she is the weak link on this team because she has no superpower. She undervalues the importance that she has. She can help the team cope with the mental and emotional side of being a superhero. Without her they may have not been able to find their individual touchstones that brought them out of their fear visions. Yes Kelly is human but so is Alex who was saving people from danger long before she got a shape shifting Martian weapon. Kelly doesn’t need a shield to make a meaningful contribution to this team. J’onn can resist the Prime Phantom fear visions due to his martian biology and connection to his brother Malefic. Due to his mind reading abilities he must suffer the fears of his whole team when he fights the Phantom. He is able to subdue the foe and return it to containment. This allows our superfriends to amerge from their individual nightmares. Brainy is afraid of balloons but we don’t have time to unpack that. It is time to save Kara. Now that Kara’s location has been pinpointed by her DNA. The team deploys the sunlight bomb to repel phantoms and reenergize Kara. Supergirl speeds onto the ship and into Alex’s embrace. All appears well as they launch through a portal back to Earth. Unfortunately things are not as sunny as they seem. Instead of Kara’s father we see the true face of the person that has been encouraging Kara all episode long. She is in fact Nyxly, the fifth dimensional imp and she wants to get home. If she causes some mayhem in National City along the way that is just more fun for her. We have to wait until August 24th for the next chapter of this super adventure. Thank you so much for all the fun feedback you have provided so far this season. Stay tuned for special episodes during hiatus and have a super start to your summer!

There is no preparing for devastating, life altering news. Alex and Kevin Morrissey could never prepare for the words, "I'm so sorry" and the news that would come regarding their son David. No one can prepare you for stillbirth. Alex is candid in the pain and devastation of what happens when you lose a baby and your arms leave a hospital empty. Alex's pain has fueled her to be a champion of those without a voice, and is the ultimate story of survival in wake of utter devastation. Part 1 is a walk through the pain of losing a baby and finding life and purpose in the years that would follow. In Alex's own words: “What I would say to my grieving self in those first years: It's not a betrayal of him or of his life to look for joy and to let that joy back in to your heart. You don't have to be crying in anguish for him to have mattered, for your love for him to be real.”

In Alex's own words, KAWO is "like Hootsuite but for the Chinese market". That means KAWO is fine tuned to China's unique social media landscape - covering Weibo, Wechat and the demands of its advanced 600 million social media users. Despite the relatively later explosion in the Chinese social media scene, Alex is no latecomer - he's been in Shanghai since 2007 when arrived aged 23 with a backpack, a few words of Mandarin and little more than a desire to have an adventure. He's been there ever since. This episode of ATP Stories is a unique insight into what it takes to establish a successful startup in China and the challenges facing foreigner entrepreneurs entering that market.
In Alex's recent inner circle meeting, he got some great questions from his members. On today's show, he discusses why he decided to stop using a call center and what he's doing to build rapport instead. Also, he offers a couple of ways on how to eliminate bottlenecks in your business and teach your team how to get deals that will lead to profit. Key Takeaways: Alex has been getting a lot of great questions from the members of the inner circle program he has. Today, he shares a couple of quick questions he's gotten. Alex, do you use a call center for after hours or do your calls go to voicemail? Hiring a call center was a big fail. Call back the number ASAP. Every hour you miss, the harder it will be to reach the seller again. Next question: How does your acquisitions team come up with a purchase price? When this happens, it usually means there's a bottleneck somewhere in your business. Acquisitions and sales need to be on the same page, always. You don't want your team relying too heavily on you in order for the business to function. If you're getting feedback that you're property is priced too high, ask your buyers what's a reasonable price for them. You're collecting valuable data here. Got any questions for Alex? Paper Napkin Wisdom - Podcast and Blog for Entrepreneurs, Leaders and Difference-Makers
For more than two decades, Alex Charfen has been creating and testing business philosophies specifically geared towards entrepreneurs. Alex has been an entrepreneur himself during this period, and has developed the Entrepreneurial Personality Type to help business owners grow their business and themselves. He has contributed to numerous major media outlets and brings his core philosophy to Paper Napkin Wisdom: “There is nothing wrong with you.” Alex’s contribution stems from an observation that whoever has stood out in history has always had a restlessness - something that people constantly told them was a weakness. Ranging from the original great thinkers of Athens to Einstein to Buffett, opposition to this type of innovative thinking has always originated from a resistance to change. In the business world, entrepreneurs represent this archetype because we are highly susceptible to negative criticism. At every level of business - and especially when starting out - the message is “fix yourself.” In Alex’s experience, however, entrepreneurs must discover how to identify strengths and abilities, develop protection and support, and lower pressure and noise. You may be surprised at how rapidly these efforts help in accomplishing your goals. Alex even goes so far as to recommend leaning into your personality (as opposed to tempering it) and make it a more prominent part of your business. From the work Alex has done with entrepreneurs, he has identified three awakenings that each of us experiences: 1) a realization that we are fundamentally different, 2) an innate motivation to keep going, 3) the call of contribution. The first stage begins at an early age by learning “what is wrong with me” through systemic suppression and fear. This eventually grows, however, into learning how to get ahead, and learning that self improvement often requires breaking systemic rules. The next evolution becomes “how to get my partners and team ahead”, which finally results in “how to contribute and help everyone.” Think of Bill Gates as the perfect example: someone who began is career as selfish, driven, and cutthroat, but developed a philanthropic, generous spirit of contribution. Entrepreneurial personalities tend to prefer momentum to feeling - forward vs backwards as opposed to happy vs sad. As such, chasing momentum is more rewarding than chasing happiness. Entrepreneurs tend to be momentum-based or highly attuned to whether they’re moving forward. As Alex describes it, pressure and noise = stress, frustration, obstacles, regardless of size. Protection and support comes from surrounding yourself with people who help you move forward. Complete the following exercise: think of a time when you experienced a high level of momentum. What were you chasing and how are you tracking your momentum? Who contributed to you and who have you contributed to? A perfect example of this formula is Rick Hoyt: a person who, with the help of his father, family, neighbors and friends, overcame a physical disability to develop strengths and abilities, and eventually make a contribution through inspiration.
On this week's Q&A show, Alex answers Elizabeth's question on how to properly build good relationships with your realtors. In Alex's experience, agents tend to offer the best paying clients and deals, so it's important for you to make good connections and build good rapport with your local agent. Do not miss out on this opportunity! Key Takeaways: Stay tuned for episode 50! Exciting things are happening. Elizabeth's question on how to properly build good relationships with your realtors. How can us wholesalers approach realtors who have cash buyers about properties we currently have under contract? Alex is focused more and more on networking and building good relationships with others. Agents often have cash buyers that will pay the most for our wholesale deals. Alex pitches the deal to the realtor on the phone and then follows up via text message. Alex always makes sure realtors add their commission to the wholesale price. Always be upfront and honest with your realtor. No one likes surprises. Is Alex's sales manager also a realtor? Connect with an attorney in your area and make sure everything is in working order. Join Patricia when she interviews Martin Goldsmith, host and classical music programmer for SiriusXM Radio's Symphony Hall and former hose of NPR's Performance Today from 1989 to 1999. He is the author of The Inextinguishable Symphony and Alex's Wake: A Voyage of Betrayal and a Journey of Remembrance. In Alex's Wake, Goldsmith details his six-week quest to retrace the journey his grandfather and his uncle made from the St. Louis to Auschwitz. On May 13, 1939 the MS St. Louis sailed from Hamburg, Germany, loaded with Jewish refugees eager to escape Nazi Germany. However, denied entry to the United States, the ship's passengers were returned to Europe, where many were captured and sent to concentration camps. Alexander Goldschmidt and his son, Helmut, spent the next three years in six different camps before they were murdered in Auschwitz. As we approach the 75th anniversary of the St. Louis' disastrous voyage (May 13) as well as Holocaust Remembrance Day (sunset on April 27th to sunset on April 28th), Alex's Wakesheds light on part of the Holocaust that is missing from many textbooks. In his memoir, Martin Goldsmith gives voice to two stories: the story of his ancestors, which echoes those of thousands of Holocaust victims, and his own story, the story of a grandson left behind to cope with and ultimately embrace his family legacy.
