Jason K. Jensen, Private Investigator, shares his unique insight on the many cold cases he has worked on over the years, including the cases of JonBenét Ramsey, Rosia Tapia, and Rachael Runyan. Jason is a well-known figure in the media, frequently appearing on national television shows and podcasts. He's a regular contributor to shows like Court TV's Closing Arguments with Vinnie Politan, News Nation Prime, and Banfield. Jason has offered his expert analysis on several high-profile cases, such as the Gabby Petito & Brian Laundrie case, fugitive Kaitlin Armstrong, the Delphi Murders, and cold cases like JonBenet Ramsey. But Jason's work doesn't just stop at commentary. He's also a co-founder of the Cold Case Coalition and a member of several professional organizations, including the American Investigative Society of Cold Cases (AISOCC), the International Association for Identification (IAI), the International Association for Bloodstain Pattern Analysts (IABPA), and the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction (ACSR). Additionally, he's an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He holds two Utah BCI licenses and was a member of the International Homicide Investigators Association from 2018 to 2021. The case remains unsolved, and the article examines several theories surrounding the murder. The first theory suggests that JonBenét's parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, were involved in the murder, possibly in an attempt to cover up an accident or to protect one of their other children. However, DNA evidence found at the scene did not match any family members. Another theory suggests that an intruder was responsible for JonBenét's murder. Evidence at the scene suggested that someone had entered the home, and a broken window in the basement appeared to be an entry point. However, there were no signs of forced entry elsewhere in the home, and the police were unable to identify any suspects. A third theory suggests that a sex offender or a pedophile committed JonBenét's murder. This theory is supported by evidence that JonBenét had been sexually assaulted prior to her death. However, no suspects matching this description have been identified. The murder of JonBenét Ramsey remains unsolved, and the truth may never be known. Episode 2 Rachael RunyanIn this episode, the panel examines the heartbreaking August, 1982 abduction and murder of 3 year-old Rachael Runyan in Sunset, Utah. Rachael was playing at a park alongside her brothers, just feet away from her home. Their mom Elaine, watched from the window as she prepared a meal for the family. Although Elaine was nervous about letting the kids out to play, she wanted them to have fun, and they'd only be outside for a short while until it was time to come in. But in the blink of an eye, tragedy struck. A stranger approached the 3 young siblings and asked them if they wanted ice cream from Bobco's, a local store. Rachael's brother warned her not to follow the man, but she took a few steps toward him and within seconds, the man snatched Rachael up and was gone. Rachael's brothers raced inside to tell Elaine, and she called police who were at her home in less than 5 minutes. Police quickly took action and set up a county wide roadblock, but they did not find Rachael of her abductor. Police worked closely with Rachael's brother to gather details of what he witnessed, and despite his young age, he gave police a very detailed description of the man and his car. The suspect had dark skin and was possibly Black, or Hispanic. He was 5'8" to 6'0" tall, with a medium build, and a black mustache, and between twenty-five and thirty-five years old. His car was described as blue midsize car with wood grain stripes on the side- possibly a Ford Pinto Squire Station-Wagon, or similar vehicle. Sunset Utah had a heavily Caucasian population, and despite the very distinct description of a suspect who was possibly Black or Hispanic, along with a very unique car, no suspect was identified. Almost a month later, Rachael's naked body was found hog-tied in a creek off a dirt road in Morgan County, twenty miles from the park where she had been abducted. Due to decomposition, Rachael's cause of death was unclear, and it could not be determined if she was sexually assaulted. Rachael's case shocked the Sunset community, and they only became more troubled when it came to light that Rachael's murder may have been connected to the occult or a snuff film. 40 years later, there have been no arrests, and Rachael's case is still unsolved. Rachael's mom Elaine, as well as Private Cold Case Investigator Jason Jensen are guests in this episode. They discuss this tragic case in details from their perspective and share details of a promising suspect who they hope may be proven to be Rachael's killer. The shocking information is told on this show and only on this show... and the news will shock you! Who and where is this 'creeper' that the two women were talking about? And how can we all bring that person to justice?! Schulte and Turner were last seen the night of August 13, 2021 at a bar in Moab around 9:30 pm. The women were described as being deeply in love with focus and attention majorly on each other and that no one had followed them out of the bar. After the couple had been out of contact for three days, a local friend received a phone call from Schulte's father, who lives in Montana. The father reported that the couple had moved their campsite due to a "creeper dude" who they were scared of. The friend went looking for the couple's campsite in the La Sal Mountains near Moab on August 18, 2021 and was on the phone with Schulte's father when she discovered Schulte's remains. The friend later told reporters that she feared for her safety after discovering Schulte's remains. She called police and did not continue to search for Turner. Turner's remains were also discovered, right near Schulte's remains. Both women were discovered undressed from the waist down in a creek close to the campsite, with multiple gunshot wounds on their backs, sides and/or chests.[9]

Speak The Unspoken

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 1, 2021 62:35

How do we start mapping our ministry model against the technological and cultural changes that are impacting our world? Do we need a new ministry model in today's world and if so, what does that mean? In our first episode, we're talking about technology, ministry, and what it means to pursue Christ in today's world so that we can be faithful to what we're being called to in our day. We discuss what it means to relate to the Church and how we can meet people where they're at right now. Joining us is Michael Gormley of Catching Foxes Podcast. The Important Things (1:00) We are moving into a new ministry model that is not actually anything new but returning to an old way of ministry. (3:30) The Church was a mustard seed in the early Church. It broke the cultural norms of Rome and disrupted things. And then for 1000 years, you could not live in Europe without being integrated with the liturgy. Everything was moulded by the Gospel. In today's world, we're becoming the mustard seed again. (8:00) Littleness is the way of the Kingdom and spiritual growth. (10:00) Parish structure was meant to orientate our faith life to the world based on geographical location—small groups in community. People used to consist of a life that was no more than 5 miles from where they lived. We can have deep relationships now outside of our geographical circles. But we aren't orienting our ministry model around that reality enough. (13:24) We have to map ministry around the world that is, not the world that was. (1745) Pope Francis said we need to evangelize the technology continent. The truth of that is that people are gathering online. It is where the discussion of the day is happening and we need to meet people there (18:40) It's also how we frame evangelization like belong, believe, behave. The Church has to be family for people. It's a philosophy to return to. (29:00) We've jumped forward into the future and now the world is going to expect it. Our default is now Zoom calls and online, etc. It is the new normal. (38:00) People need experiences. We don't need programs, we need journeys where through the fullness of myself, experience God. (44:45) Faith is going to start spreading in homes and small groups and it's going to be impossible to slow down or put out. A new ministry model is not actually anything new but a right ordering of relationship to God and others. We have to map our ministry model against the world that is and not the world that was. We want to have a conversation around philosophies that have always defined the work of Jesus: littleness, creating belonging first, offering faith journeys and not just programs, etc. QUOTES “We're seeing this new ministry model emerge and ministry being the right ordering of relationship according to the kingdom of God.” - Jason Jensen, CEO of Glass Canvas “We have to start orienting our efforts around the world that is, instead of the world that has been.” - Jason Jensen, CEO of Glass Canvas “Too often we are dismissive of technology to communicate the gospel… Maybe as a Catholic Church, we need to unleash technology in appropriate ways. - Gomer “We used to gather in cathedrals or in the town church, that's where everyone gathered. But we no longer do that. Where do we gather? We gather online. We gather digitally. We gather on social media. It's not the gathering that our hearts need but it is where the discussion of the day is happening.” - Jason Jensen, CEO of Glass Canvas “Technology can also clear the way for more meaningful in-person relationship” - Gomer “We've jumped forward into the future and now the world is going to expect it.” - Jason Jensen, CEO of Glass Canvas “[The gospel] is going to start spreading in homes. It's going to start spreading in small communities and that littleness again. And that's powerful because once it catches, it's pretty hard to put out.” - Jason Jensen, CEO of Glass Canvas “The temptation for evangelists is compromising the church and what she asks of us and we water down the heroism of facing yourself in the morning as you truly are.” - Gomer “To keep people in the church, we do this desperate thing where we loosen what it means to be a part of the church. But if we stay true to what the Church is asking, it actually draws people in.” - Gomer

As an Anglican church, we follow a liturgy every Sunday which allows us to participate in worship together. The Coronavirus has eliminated our ability to meet together for the foreseeable future, but it has not quenched our desire to worship in spirit and truth! The liturgy we’ll be following in our services will thus be a little different than usual, but it remains a way for us all to participate in the work of the people of God—to hear and respond to His Word, and to pray for the world. Think of the acres, the running miles under power lines that connect us all to the electricity we want and need. Now see, under these lines, vibrant habitat: running corridors of native plants growing food and reproductive cover for beneficial insects, birds, and more. This kind of land-use transformation is real.              Wires Over Wildlife, a cost-share and expert-advisory program, works with utilities and owners of power line rights-of-ways from our Missouri Department of Conservation. Jason Jensen, Private Lands Conservation Unit Chief, leads a team of MDC experts in negotiating WOW agreements and supporting WOW partners in making these management changes work.  MDC has negotiated the first WOW agreement with a rural electric cooperative, Grundy Electric Coop. Jensen talks with Earthworms host Jean Ponzi about how this kind of agreement works, why this first coop agreement is significant, and how ecological management can save money, decrease chemical use and mowing, and restore the biodiversity bloom to power line rights-of-way across our state. Jensen is also on the statewide Feral Hog task force. Hear how MDC is working to tackle this major invasive species issue.  THANKS to Earthworms engineers: Andy Heaslet, Jon Valley and Andy Coco. Kind, humble communication is all the more important when you don't have much time together (9:30). The difference between arguing and talking is clarified (15:20) and the importance of service is discussed (19:00). Jason and Lauren share the pivotal concept that each person's effort at 100% looks different at different times (20:00).The couple shares what they went through during Jason's residency, including the death of Lauren's brother Jeff. (23:00) Communicating his priorities to his work, Jason was completely there for Lauren (25:50). One strategy for strengthening family ties is taking “mini vacations,” going out of the house on days off and making memories (36:20). Jason confesses feelings of jealousy towards Lauren and describes how he deals with that (39:30). Saturday March 6, 2010 Recording Artist Jacinta checked in with DJ Jason Jensen on the Saturday Night Dance Party on Internet Dance Station www.DanceMixAmerica.com to promote her new dance singles Titled Magic (80's original by Olivia Newton John), and "Are You Dancing" which are now out on iTunes along with several other great 80's remixes all covered by Jacinta! Other Topics of discussion were Jacinta's upcoming trip to Miami, FL for a Winter Music Confrence event March 23 - 27th 2010. Jacinta is also taking part of a 45 mile bike ride for the HILL COUNTRY RIDE in Austin, TX on April 24, 2010. This is a benefit to raise funds for HIV/AIDS. Jason for the first time publicly admited to his 14 year HIV status and had a heart felt moment about this issue. To sponsor Jacinta's ride please visit www.hillcountryride.com. No matter what the amount you can sponsor, it will be greatly appreciated by us all! Jason also told Jacinta that he liked her name and wanted to change his DJ name to Jacinta Jensen.... Jacinta responded with a marriage proposal! VERY FUNNY... The interview ends with a clip of her new song "Magic". Search iTunes for Magic and Jacinta to purchase it today! Here is more information about Jacinta... Jacinta has been building a successful career in the dance/club genre with 5 consecutive Billboard Hits and a nomination for Best Artist Solo at the International Dance Music Awards, 2008 ... Lumina is NOT that. LUMINA gives us an insight into where Jacinta's music begins. The journey of a raw emotion finding its way to become a message in a melody sounding through her voice and piano. Sometimes in the midst of the desolation of the dark hours, with candles lit and incense burning, a cathartic music is birthed, and sometimes a new ember is discovered that glows within, be it an inspiring lyric or an uplifting vocal lilt or a chord progression that you just didn't see coming. It brings with it a new song that has a magical momentum that reaches out showering our hearts, minds and souls with new hope. Lumina: Songs of LIGHT from The Dark Hours. STOP PRESS!! JACINTA NOMINEE for BEST BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST at INTERNATIONAL DANCE MUSIC AWARDS (WMC 08). WHAT A NIGHT!!
