My aim is to provide listeners with insights on how to transition from a state of anxiety to one of mental flexibility, allowing for greater peace and calm in our lives. The discussion begins by highlighting the rigidity that often accompanies anxiety, likening our anxious mindset to a tightly wound structure—brittle and prone to breaking under pressure.I explore the ways in which life changes, stress, and frustration contribute to our inflexible thinking, causing us to feel overwhelmed and perhaps on the verge of snapping. Recognizing this pattern is the first step towards transformation. I introduce six actionable strategies that can help us cultivate a more flexible mindset. Each strategy serves as a tool to counteract the tightness and rigidity we feel when anxiety takes over. The first strategy emphasizes the importance of awareness around physical tension in our bodies, particularly in areas such as the shoulders and jaw. I encourage listeners to check in with their physical state regularly, practicing intentional release of tight muscles to foster a sense of relaxation that communicates safety to the mind. The second point focuses on the power of the pause—taking a moment to breathe and create space before responding to stress. This allows us to break the habitual response cycle and choose a more mindful reaction.#AnxietyRelief #MentalHealthMatters #Mindfulness #AnxietyCoachesPodcast #GinaRyan #StressReduction #CopingSkills #InnerPeace #NervousSystemHealing #LetGo #MindfulLiving #OvercomingAnxiety #MentalWellness #SelfCare #EmotionalIntelligence #FloatingTechnique #RestAndDigest #HolisticHealing #StayCurious #FlexibleMind #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What if your ego is quietly costing you the very things you say you want—better numbers, deeper relationships, more freedom, and more fun on the golf course? In this conversation, former all-time leading salesperson turned coach, author, and podcast host Casey Jacox joins me to unpack how humility, curiosity, and relationship-driven leadership can help you win in business, golf, and fatherhood—without burning yourself (or everyone around you) out. We dig into the invisible pressure high performers feel to always do more, how easily we tie our worth to our results, and why so many men confuse anger and intensity with "high performance."  Casey shares powerful stories from his football career, corporate life, and his journey as a dad and scratch-level golfer to show you a more sustainable way to compete and win. In this episode, you'll learn: How to chase big goals without tying your self-worth to your numbers or handicap Why humility and relationships are your real competitive advantage in sales, business, and golf The difference between fear-driven and curiosity-driven behavior—and how to shift into curiosity Simple questions you can ask clients, teams, and yourself to uncover blind spots and ego traps How to "bench your ego" for 30 days and the measurable changes that will show up in your life and game The hidden pressure many dads carry—and how to protect presence with your kids without tanking your career Practical ways to use gratitude, curiosity, and "even though…" reframes to bounce back faster after setbacks on and off the course Get your pencils ready and start listening.  P.P.S. Curious to learn more about the results my clients are experiencing and what they say about working with me? Read more here. More About Casey Casey Jacox is an author, keynote speaker, executive coach, sales advisor, former collegiate quarterback, and the host of The Quarterback DadCast. Relationships are not transactions—treat them like a bank account and make consistent deposits before you ever ask for a withdrawal. Fear-driven behavior protects the ego; curiosity-driven behavior unlocks growth and deeper connection. The right questions at the right time are more powerful than the perfect pitch, speech, or pep talk. Benching your ego leads to better leadership, less stress, stronger teams, and more enjoyment on the golf course. Being a present dad often requires brave decisions about boundaries, time, and saying "no" to good opportunities. Golf is a mirror: how you respond to bad shots, slumps, and frustration reveals how you handle pressure everywhere else. Key Quotes: "When you're great, other people will tell you. If you have to tell everyone how good you are, you're probably not that good." "People who treat relationships like transactions miss the bigger picture—you get back what you consistently deposit." "Fear-driven people are afraid to ask for help. Curiosity-driven people say, 'I don't know' and then do something about it." "It's not what you say that closes the deal or builds trust. It's what you ask." "The mind is the best tool in your golf bag—and only you have access to it." "Do you want to be right, or do you want to get what you want?" "I'm never going to regret choosing time with my kids over another business opportunity." From the stage in LA to bold decisions at home, we're sharing behind-the-scenes stories, hard-earned lessons, and the joy (and chaos) of staying powerful in a world that keeps changing.   Resources mentioned: ROAR Forward Website ROAR Forward Feature: Meet a Re-Imagineer - Liz Hilliard Men's Health: Over 40? Life shifts. We grow. Give yourself permission to let go, begin again, and become someone new. Stretching into discomfort is where real growth begins. Liz's speaking event pushed her outside her comfort zone… and she nailed it. The process was messy, brave, and exactly the kind of stretch that births growth. Amy & Kat are bringing their curiosity to the table this week (about everything from whether you’d tell someone they had food in their teeth to why certain big podcasts have broken up!) The Feeling of the Day is Relief, as Kat finally changed her last name a year and a half after getting married. They talk about the double standards that come with changing a name and what men should have to do that feels equally inconvenient. Fittingly, they discuss why “a wife is the cheat code to life” and they share their current obsession: proffee (protein + coffee) + a discount code (below) for their go-to protein right now. It’s an episode full of curiosity, laughter, and real talk about relationships, life hacks, and little things that make a big difference. Protein Code: The code is FEEL20 at IsopureProtein.com and that will save you 20%. The Unflavored Whey is what they like in their protein ball recipe that they’ve talked about multiple times and it’s also what Amy puts in her iced coffee every morning! Summary In this candid live-stream conversation, Andy chats with content creator and project leader Stuart Taylor, the mind behind the Influential PMO platform and the Stuart Taylor Project YouTube channel. They dig into the difference between influencers and thought leaders, how to choose topics that genuinely help practitioners, and what to do when metrics don't match the effort. Stuart shares practical strategies for building professional visibility on LinkedIn and YouTube, including how to craft resonant messages, handle trolls, and focus on service over self-promotion. The discussion also explores Stuart's experiment asking whether AI could manage a project. Spoiler: AI is a strong team member for first drafts and research, but a weak project manager. They wrap with career advice for today's shifting job market, including why to think like an internal consultant and how to future-proof your career by learning in public. If you're looking for insights on personal branding, creator tactics, and AI's real role in project work, this episode is for you! Sound Bites Regarding AI: "It cannot be the project manager. It's spineless. It is a weakling leader." "There is no such thing as a permanent job anymore." “Share what you know and people will be drawn to you for what you are sharing.” “Learn to make a resonating message. Learn how to share value.” “I never did this to become internet famous… What problem do I want to solve? That's it.” “Because you don't understand how the algorithm works. You think your whole network's ignoring you, and in fact, all that's happened is maybe less than 10% of your network has seen the message before the algorithm realized that your message wasn't resonating.” “It will be the penny pinching execs who want to save a few dollars, who will take your job, and they'll replace it with a machine that can do 50% of your job for a fraction of your price, and they'll live with the 50% they can't do.” Chapters 00:00 Start of Live Stream 02:13 Thoughts on Influencers and Thought Leaders 05:28 Deciding on Video Content 07:34 Views and Metrics 14:41 The Creative Process and Challenges 18:28 Sharing Knowledge and Building a Community 18:49 Navigating Social Media: The Good, The Bad, and The Trolls 19:18 Handling Criticism and Building Connections 24:37 The Role of AI in Project Management 29:10 The Future of Work: AI, Automation, and Adaptation 36:24 Staying Curious and Embracing Change Learn More You can learn more about Stuart and his work here: LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/skt Website: InfluentialPMO.com YouTube: Stuart Taylor Project Thank you for joining me for this episode of The People and Projects Podcast! In this special Summer Series Flip episode, I'm so excited to share a conversation I had on the Brilliant Balance podcast with the amazing Cherylanne Skolnicki. We talk all about the journey of becoming—how I moved from chasing external success to aligning with the woman I'm meant to be, and how that shift has transformed the way I live, lead, and support others. I open up about what it means to create clarity (instead of waiting for it), rewrite the stories that keep us stuck, and take radical responsibility for the version of ourselves we're stepping into. We also dive into the evolution of my book Get What You Want, the truth about personal branding, and why I believe you shouldn't build your business based on who you used to be—but from the place of who you're becoming. This conversation is raw, honest, and such a beautiful reminder that you don't need to wait to become her—you can be her now. Liked this episode? The OneHaas Alumni Podcast is pleased to welcome Keith and Kenneth Tsang, who are not only identical twins, but also had identical triple majors at UC Berkeley – political science, psychology, and business. After being born in the Bay Area, Keith and Kenneth moved to Hong Kong where they spent the first formative years of their childhood. Growing up in a family that prioritized education and exploration, the twins developed a strong sense of curiosity for the world around them. It's this curiosity that sparked their desire to pursue not one, but three majors for their undergraduate degrees at UC Berkeley. Keith and Kenneth chat with host Sean Li about how they applied those three majors to careers in entrepreneurship, lessons they learned from growing up in Hong Kong and then reacclimating in the U.S., and how their career journeys have taken shape thanks to a healthy dose of staying curious and making friends. *OneHaas Alumni Podcast is a production of Haas School of Business and is produced by University FM.*Episode Quotes:Kenneth on why their decision to add business as a second major“ I think we were just blown away from the beginning, like, wow, all this business stuff is completely different from your history class and your chemistry classes in high school. It felt practical and relevant. And I think we were hooked pretty early on. And I think, to be honest, I think Keith and I are a bit competitive, and then I think with Haas, some people might know, the undergraduate is competitive and we figured we can do this too. So let's get in on this game and succeed here.”Keith on how the brothers identify entrepreneurial opportunities“ I've worked in all kinds of businesses and industries, obviously venture capital, then you have Nest with thermostats. I've also worked at LinkedIn and Meta, big companies, but also small companies doing housekeeping double-sided marketplace and robot delivery pizza. So it's a little bit of everything. But part of that is just being open to what's interesting, like do you see value here? Like are you able to have an impact? So that's like the first checkbox you're looking at: can you actually do something that is influencing change? And the second part of it is just being able to be open with your network… like you're talking to people and you're learning about these things and when something catches your interest, you just learn a little bit more and see whether you have a role to play in that. So I think that's, at a high level, that's what it really is, being open to these opportunities.”Kenneth on being a student always“ …Just to plug the Haas values, just being student always, I think the learning never stops. And I think that curiosity sort of kept us going. And in hindsight, I think a lot of these things are hard to plan. They're kind of serendipitous, but I think if you're open to learning and then having that curiosity is what sort of led us down these paths that we've taken.”Keith on how their parents nurtured their curiosity early on“ They definitely provided us with different opportunities to explore our interests – playing different sports, soccer, baseball, being in the Boy Scouts, which I think was actually one of the best experiences. It was kind of where we were able to just experience all kinds of things like archery, horseback riding, stuff like that, and just try different things. And I think that really is important for setting that foundation to be curious always, is that you are able, you're comfortable being in new situations and after the first time you realize that's enjoyable, you do it a second time, it's still enjoyable and you just keep it up. But I think if you were in a situation or environment where that is limited, you're always being constantly told no, I can very much see how that could be hampered.”Show Links:Kenneth's LinkedIn ProfileKeith's LinkedIn ProfileSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/onehaas/donations

She built an empire by rewriting the rules, and now she's here to do the same for aging.Because let's be real—society has a plan for women after a certain age. And it's not fabulous. If you don't have your own vision, the world will grind you up and spit you out. Diane's not having it.From the beginning, Diane had an obvious destiny—talent, drive, and a few wild chances that took her to becoming the most successful tele-retailer on TV (at 60 no less). A choice. Some of you may say… “But Oonagh, I feel tired and achy!!!” Yeah, that happens. But you're not powerless. Take care of yourself. Feed your body. Move it. Treat it like the powerhouse it is.If you're not learning, growing, and keeping up—you're going backwards. You have to be fluid or you'll turn into cement. And yes, that means getting the new iPhone. Watching what the kids are watching. Staying curious. You are still wired to learn new things—don't let anyone tell you otherwise.Craving more of Diane's wisdom? Even though most of us no longer ride horses or mend our own clothes, the analogy of a task being, "like trying to find a needle in a haystack" has cemented itself as a timeless way to convey both difficulty and monotony. But as my guest today argues, if it's your efforts at Self-Improvement that have begun to feel like looking for a needle in a haystack, there's a good chance there's not a needle in the first place. Ryan Christensen is a veteran and author with more than two decades of expertise in intelligence operations and certifications in advanced hypnosis. He now works with high-achievers and neurodivergent professionals to shift their subconscious, helping them discover new working models of belief constructions.Ryan recently published “Winner Peace: How to End Inner Conflict and Make Success Inevitable”., and in it he pushes back against many of the assumptions we carry into our self-help journeys - some of which we've even talked about before on this very podcast. We discuss the myth that there is no finish line to improvement, what it means to feel like our emotions are happening TO us, and why so many of us fear the question, "Who am I?".Enjoy the show!Show-Notes____________________Ryan's YouTube Channel

In this episode of the You Are Not Broken podcast, Dr. Kelly Casperson interviews Dr. Carol Tavris, a renowned social psychologist and feminist. They discuss the evolving definition of feminism, the impact of cognitive dissonance on women's health, and the collaboration between Dr. Tavris and Dr. Avrum Blooming on hormone therapy. The conversation highlights the importance of staying curious, the role of fear in controlling women, and the challenges women face in navigating medical information. Dr. Tavris emphasizes the need for women to advocate for their health and to question outdated medical warnings. In this conversation, Dr. Kelly Casperson and Carol Tavris discuss the complexities surrounding hormone therapy, particularly estrogen, and the societal and medical biases that influence women's health. They explore the implications of labeling estrogen as hazardous, the challenges of mobilizing women for advocacy, and the cognitive biases that affect perceptions of hormone therapy. The discussion emphasizes the need for informed activism, understanding causation versus correlation, and the evolution of medical beliefs over time. Dr. Tavris offers insights on how to engage effectively with both the medical community and the public to foster change in women's health policies. Takeaways Feminism is about equality and justice for all genders. Cognitive dissonance can hinder our ability to accept new information. Women have historically been misrepresented in medical research. Collaboration between psychology and medicine can improve women's health. Fear is a powerful tool used to control women's choices. Women must navigate a complex landscape of medical information. The medical community often overlooks women's health needs. Outdated medical warnings can create unnecessary fear. Women should advocate for their health and question misinformation. Understanding cognitive dissonance can help in making informed decisions. Estrogen patches are being labeled as hazardous without proper justification. Women need to mobilize and organize for advocacy efforts. Apathy among women in advocacy is a significant barrier to change. Cognitive biases can distort perceptions of hormone therapy. Correlation does not imply causation, especially in health matters. Personal anecdotes can shape beliefs about medical treatments. The evolution of medical beliefs often requires a critical mass of evidence. Activism should focus on engaging those who are open to change. Mistakes in medicine are common, and learning from them is essential. Holding beliefs lightly allows for adaptation to new evidence.
