Some of today's We In/We Out questions include: * We in/we out – Riley Leonard, Jeremiah Love, and Jadarian Price will all score a TD on Saturday. * We in/ we out – The Notre Dame defense will force 2 turnovers on Saturday. * Notre Dame will win by 2 Touchdowns but score less than 30 points against A&M. We In or We Out? * The storyline coming out of the A&M game will be something other than the OL, weather, or atmosphere at Kyle stadium. We in or we out? * A&M will be concerned with the run and mobile QB that they will try to run stop and blitz, which will open up a passing game everyone doubts. Leonard completes 65% of his passes and lights them up through the air. * We in we out that Love will catch a pass and run touchdown the game vs A&M? * We in we out that Love will have 100 yards receiving and 100 yards rushing? * We in we out that Leonard will have 300 yd passing and 75 yd rushing? * We in we out on the ND defense will out score A&M offense? * Jordan Faison, if not the most productive, becomes the most valuable receiver on the team and is catapulted into national recognition by the end of the year * IF Notre Dame wins a championship, Irish fans, after years of outside abuse and self-doubt, become unbearable to the rest of the nation. * We In We Out: the young O line plays better than expected (doesn't get dominated). No one is talking about the defense and D line the O line has been going against all camp. If the O line hasn't been a complete disaster in camp (how could it, Offense won jersey scrimmage), why would it be at tam? * We In, Out: the defense gives up at least two + 20 yd runs, with missed tackles and busted run fits * We in/ we out Riley Leonard's QBR will be greater than Wiegman's. * We in we out/ Anthonie Knapp will hold his own against Nic Scourton and end up a freshman all-American. * In/Out: The Leonard/Mike Elko saga will be brought up more than “You Suck!” from Leonard's mom? * In/Out: I win my 20 leg parlay that I put 20 bucks on and win 10,000. * In/Out: Jeremiah Love catches a receiving touchdown against A&M. * There will be 2 Texas A&M turnovers during this game. * We in We out: A Qb not named Riley Leonard will start 2 games this season for the Irish. * We in We out on Love being a finalist for the Doak Walker Award and being top 5 in the country in all purpose years. * We in or We out: I'm hearing & reading from Texas A&M fans that they belive their Secondary will be a strength right out of the gate. But they also admit their lack of proven LB depth and they are worried about our TE's. With Denbrock's x&o abilities he will be able to exploit the middle of the field and in turn make A&M's safeties cheat enough inside that it leaves their corners in no man's land. Which will lead to a dynamic passing attack for Leonard and the new improved ND WR room. * We in or We out: Christian Gray will have his moment like Benjamin Morrison did against Ohio St in 22! With 1 INT, 2 PBU & under 50 yards allowed against him. * We in we out : Knapp will not give up a sack on Saturday. * We In/We out – Notre Dame defense has more than 9, 3 and outs against Texas A&M. I'm excited to share my discussion with Coach Terrence Brown Jr. Coach Terrence is the Defensive Backs Coach at the University of Cal. Here is information about his playing and coaching career. I'm in my third season as a defensive backs coach at Cal in 2024. I have spent 11 seasons in the Pac-12 as a player and coach, including the last two seasons at Cal (2002-23) and five campaigns over two stints on the coaching staff at Washington (2015-17, '20-21). I also played collegiately in the league for four seasons at Stanford (2009-12). I also coached at Vanderbilt (2018-19) in between my stints at Washington. In addition, I was among a group of 30 coaches on 247Sports' 30Under30 list in both 2019 and 2020. Coached Patrick McMorris who was selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins after posting strong numbers (90 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 1.0 SK, 1 INT, 8 PBU, 2 FR, 2 FF) and Craig Woodson (81 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 1 INT, 4 PBU, 2 FF) who earned his second straight honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection. In 2022 I coached, Daniel Scott a fifth-round selection of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2023 NFL Draft after being a third-team All-Pac-12 pick of Phil Steele and Pro Football Focus as a 2022, as well as Jeremiah Earby a second-team College Football News Freshman All-American, and all three honorable mention All-Pac-12 selections of the league's coaches. At Washington, I coached a pair of 2021 first-team All-Pac-12 defensive backs in Kyler Gordon and Trent McDuffie, while Elijah Molden was a first-teamer in 2020 when McDuffie earned second-team honors. I coached four Huskies currently on NFL rosters in Gordon (Chicago), McDuffie (Kansas City), Molden (Tennessee), and Keith Taylor Jr. (Kansas City), with McDuffie a first-round pick and No. 22 overall selection of the Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft while Gordon was taken in the second round (No. 39 overall) by Chicago, Molden was a third-round pick (No. 100 overall) of the Titans in 2021 and Taylor Jr. a fifth-round selection of Carolina also in 2021. As a graduate assistant, I coached a pair of All-Americans in Budda Baker and Sidney Jones, while working with a long list of future NFL defensive backs in addition to Baker and Jones including Kevin King, Jordan Miller, Byron Murphy, Taylor Rapp, Keith Taylor Jr. and Zeke Turner, with Husky defensive backs earning five first-team All-Pac-12 honors during the period. At Vanderbilt, I coached second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection Joejuan Williams in 2018 when Williams led all SEC cornerbacks in interceptions (4), while also pacing all of the league's players in pass breakups (14) and passes defended (18) before he was selected by New England in the second round (No. 45 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. The LSU Tigers seized a great opportunity Saturday night to rebuild confidence following the Florida State loss by taking down Grambling State 72-10. The offense found explosiveness and while the defense got off to a slow start, it squandered Grambling in the second half giving up zero points following adjustments. LSU felt like it got some confidence and swagger back in the home opener before heading on the road to Mississippi State. But head coach Brian Kelly also took that game as an opportunity to debut some new faces on the LSU roster. But which will be fixtures for the team moving forward and who got playing time merely because it was a blowout loss and the coaching staff wanted to get them reps? First, Texas A&M transfer cornerback Denver Harris made his debut after he was away from the team and didn't even travel to Orlando to take on the Seminoles. Coach Kelly said he needed to "buy in" to the teams message and earned some playing time this past week. Harris had one PBU in the end zone but also gave up a TD on Grambling's first drive. Can Harris stay committed and continue to earn more playing time on a unit that could desperately use some playmakers and depth? Second, Notre Dame transfer RB Logan Diggs was phenomenal. Even against an inferior opponent Logan Diggs flashed his speed and toughness running for 115 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown. In an incredibly crowded and stacked room, has Diggs emerged as the favorite to be this teams go-to back? Finally, we got to see some work from true freshman tackle Zalance Heard. Heard was a five-star OT recruit out of Neville High School in Monroe, LA and was a top five offensive tackle recruit in the 2023 class. The right side of the offensive line struggled creating open lanes for the running backs against Florida State, so Heard got the opportunity to prove that he can bolster up a unit that got worked by the Noles. Can we expect to see more of the true freshman throughout the season? What does he have to do to prove he can be a reliable starter at this level? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Longtime gamer Ronnie Wyatt, inspired by first by PC boxing games Lance Haffner TKO and Title Bout II, and later by Roberto Chiavini's complete Olympics boxing set and his more recent Noble Arts boxing game, has created a new contender in the boxing game realm. As Wyatt played Chiavini's game, he wanted to add more “meat to the bone." He remembered that Anthony Crooks, creator of Glory Days Boxing and fellow member of the Title Bout computer championship game forum, created a series of pre-match charts for injuries and outside-the-ring events. Ronnie thought of adding such mechanics to Chiavini's game and crafted a set of home brew charts. “The more homebrews I had … I realized i wasn't playing the (same) game any more.” Interviewed July 29, 2022, Wyatt discussed the finer points of his new project, called Fictional Boxing Universe before he rebranded it in September to Pro Boxing Universe Dice Game. PBU tackles multiple historic eras of the sweet science. On Nov. 20, he launched the PBU website, where users can access game files and try their hand at anything from bareknuckle or Marquess of Queensbury rules to the present day. The Philadelphia Eagles had a formidable Day 1 joint practice with the Miami Dolphins. As expected, Tyreek Hill set it off on the first play of One on Ones versus Big Play Slay. Legs got tangled, ankles sprained and Slay took the brunt of it with Hill catching the pass. That set the tone for the rest of the dayThe Eagles' secondary had trouble keeping pace with Tyreek Hill all day. Conversely, AJ Brown and Davonta Smith were ripping holes in the Dolphins' secondary so it would seem like both offenses had a good day. Both teams went back and forth with the Defensive line of both teams making plays. Haason Reddick registered 2 sacks on the day and Jordan Davis gave the Dolphins' O-Line a bit of trouble up the middle. Overall, most would argue that the Dolphins won the day. Both Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa both threw the ball well but seemed a little short on 2 pivotal plays. In the play when Slay got hurt, he had a good position on Hill when he went down. Hill had to stop and catch the ball. If Slay would've stayed upright that was a PBU. Jalen Hurts threw a deep ball to DeVonta Smith down the middle. Smith had his man beat with separation but the underthrown ball forced him to go up and get it. If Jalenleads Smith with the throw it's a touchdown. The Dolphins were scheduled to practice with the Eagles today as well, however, the Dolphins have canceled the joint practice due to several players dealing with some sort of stomach bug. Head Coach Nick Sirianni says that none of the Eagles are showing any symptoms. The Eagles instead will practice on their own at the Miami facility ahead of Saturday's NFL Preseason finale against the Dolphins.

The Tennessee football program has once again found themselves a playmaker from the outside. The Vols added JUCO CB Ro Torrence on Monday night. The 6-foot-3, 195 pound defensive back comes to Knoxville from Hutchinson Community College, in Kansas. Torrence is from Bessemer, Alabama, and played at Bessemer City High School. I spoke with Ro Torrence tonight about his decision to pick the Vols and his conversations with the coaching staff. Also, we discussed him playing for a National Title in a few weeks. Since the JUCO football was postponed until the spring, Torrence recorded 20 tackles, six PBU’s and 3 tackles for loss in seven games played this season. It should also be noted that one of his former teammates is current Tennessee running back Tiyon Evans. Torrence will be playing in the 2021 JUCO National Championship game on June 5th. He will arrive at Tennessee a bit later than other incoming transfers. Jarrod Sanders Jr., one of his coaches at Hutchinson, had this to say about his ability. “He’s an extra long corner and can run very well. He’s very physical at the line in press and sets the edge of the defense, like he’s a linebacker. He’s strong in the weight room and continues to make jumps. In January he was 188 pounds and he’s 200 now, so that speaks for itself. He’s smart and always trying to learn more. Sky’s the limit for that kid, he’s one of the best I’ve seen.” High praise for the cornerback who was just wrapping up his time in the JUCO ranks. He took care of business and landed at a Power-5 school. Talking with folks about Torrence, they seem to really like his ability to attack from different areas. His height and speed will be a nice treat for defensive backs coach Willie Martinez, who he talked to a lot during this process. The hope is that Torrence can come in and pickup the defense so that he can contribute early one. Knowing the Vols needed help at the position, especially with depth, only benefits the team even more, thanks to Torrence. Mitch Harper and Matt Baiamonte look at this week's Cougar Classic, the 2009 win against Oklahoma. BYU was ranked #20 to start the season and was playing in the first college football game at Cowboys Stadium, the brand new palace built by Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones. Mitch says it was a no lose situation for BYU, who was 20-point underdogs to Oklahoma and had a chance to play on a big stage. The Sooners had Heisman-winner Sam Bradford at QB and BYU was missing starting RB Harvey Unga.  Norm Chow Play of the Game: Matt had the 4th down conversion to Dennis Pitta that put BYU in the position to score the game-winning touchdown. Dallen had Andrew Rich's forced fumble in the 1st quarter that prevented a potential OU touchdown. Mitch had Brian Kariya's 50-yard reception in the 2nd quarter.  Andrew George Underrated Player of the Game: Matt chooses Brian Kariya, who stepped in for Harvey Unga and had a number of explosive plays. Dallen chooses Andrew George for his three catches, touchdown and being the player who drew a PI to set-up 1st and Goal. Mitch chooses Brian Logan, who had 4 tackles and 2 PBU's in the game.

(Full Audio) - University Vice President and Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick sits down to discuss the latest in Fighting Irish Athletics. Segment 1: Introduction Special guest host Jack Nolan, senior football captain James Onwualu and softball senior pitcher Rachel Nasland delve into what a typical week often looks like for Notre Dame student-athletes. The co-hosts also discuss the impact of mental coaching and psychology in their respective sports, and the group looks ahead to the Shamrock Series and more. Segment 2: Jack and Rachel talk with men's soccer junior forward and the newly minted ACC Offensive Player of the Year Jon Gallagher. Gallagher is the third Notre Dame player in the program's four seasons of conference membership to be honored as the top ACC offensive performer, joining past MAC Hermann Trophy candidates Harrison Shipp (2013) and Patrick Hodan (2014). After 19 starts thus far in 2016, Gallagher remains atop the ACC scoring charts with 12 goals and 31 points, adding the second-most assists in the conference with seven helpers. Playing in the nation's top conference, Gallagher, whose point total was eight clear of his closest ACC peer at the time of voting, ranked fourth in the NCAA in shots per game (2.11), sixth in total points and eighth in total goals as of Nov. 7. Segment 3: Jack and James sit down with junior linebacker Greer Martini. Martini ranks sixth on Irish roster in 2016 in tackles with 43, including five TFL, two sacks and one PBU. He finished the Navy game last Saturday with 11 total tackles (tied for team lead with Nyles Morgan), with four solo stops. In four games against option team in his career (Navy 2014-15-16 and Georgia Tech in 2015), Martini has totaled 37 tackles (9.3 per game) and 16 solo (4.0 per game) tackles. Segment 4: Jack and Rachel catch up with senior women's swimmer Danielle Margheret. Margheret swims breaststroke as well as freestyle for the Irish, and is currently ranked in the top 10 in the ACC and the top 30 in the NCAA in the 100 breast. Thus far this season the Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team has risen to ranking as high as #10, and currently sits at #14 in the nation. Segment 5: Conclusion Jack, James and Rachel discuss upcoming Notre Dame athletics events, including the Shamrock Series, men's and women's basketball regular season openers, women's soccer hosting early rounds of the NCAA tournament, a key hockey road series and more.
