Recently, I had a chance to interview Pastor Joe, Lead Pastor of Remnant Church in Manhattan, and his wife Hanna, a licensed counselor, at his home. After a nice dinner P. Joe prepared, we reminisced about a very difficult decision they had to make to relocate from Philadelphia to New York City in 2015. What made it a bit easier for P. Joe was what his oldest son told him even as the young boy was heartbroken about having to leave the life that he loved in Philadelpha.

Rick is a local startup celebrity having started two startups in Philadelpha. His first was Boomi, which was bought by Dell, then spun out again and is still located in the Philadelphia area. His current startup is Guru, which is an internal communication tool for business. Rick's entrepreneurial journey began: Rick bet big on the future of the cloud when he founded Boomi in 2000. The early years were tough though; he ran into some challenging chapters and has openly said that "Boomi 1.0 failed" — however, this failure taught him some lessons that later helped him build Boomi up to be acquired by Dell and to start Guru in 2013 Starting Guru: Rick often talks about Guru being born out of necessity — he saw that most intranets and wikis had painfully low adoption and usability, which meant that employees often didn't have access to the information needed to do their jobs. He founded Guru to offer companies a new way to solve this age-old problem. The new world of work: as Rick guided Guru through the pandemic and shift to remote work, he formed strong opinions about the new world of work — a topic he's hugely passionate about these days — and believes that many companies are struggling to thrive in the remote-first world because they're still approaching challenges around productivity, employee engagement, and agility in with old-world thinking Find Rick Online https://www.linkedin.com/in/ricknucci/ https://getguru.com/ https://twitter.com/ricknucci/ https://www.phillystartupleaders.org/ If you're enjoying Entrepreneur's Enigma, please give us a review on the podcast directory of your choice. For one last time (excluding some caveats) the entire crew get together to say goodbye to the Eric Jr Podcast! After over 150 episodes of all the Eagles, Sixers, Phillies talk you could ask for, (with some Flyers and Union thrown in) we have decided to hang up the microphones, but not before we complete one final Eagles and NFL preview to kick off what promises to be an extremely exciting season. After the guys make their predictions, they ponder whether the Phillies can finally avoid the dreaded September collapse, and Chris gets his wish to squeeze in 120 seconds on why the Union are the best team in Philadelpha sports! Thank you, if you made it this far, we had a tremendous time making these throughout the years and hope the championships start pouring in right away.
In most hospitals, the practice of radiology went digital years ago. Today you'll rarely find a radiologist examining a broken bone or a fluid-filled lung on a sheet of old-fashioned X-ray film. But pathology isn't as computerized. For a variety of cultural, technical, and regulatory reasons, many pathologists still prefer to look at tissue samples the old-fashioned way, on a slide under a microscope.Philadelpha-based Proscia is working to change that—and open up pathology to the power of remote work and automated image analysis—by building a cloud-based infrastructure for storing and sharing scanned pathology images. Harry's guest today is Proscia CEO David West, who says there are still strong cultural barriers to the adoption of digital pathology, but "the community is realizing this can be really great for them and their discipline." West says easier scanning, higher resolution, faster image delivery, and the ability to review images from anywhere and tap the power of artificial intelligence are powerful advantages driving adoption of Proscia's platform. For a full transcript of this episode, please visit our episode page at http://www.glorikian.com/podcast Please rate and review The Harry Glorikian Show on Apple Podcasts! With no Philadelpha sporting event on tonight, Brodes is hosting an Ask Me Anything style of podcast taking your life calls! Sixers, Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and everything else is on the table!
Yesterday the Philadelpha 76ers met with Ben Simmons agent. Simmons has yet to play in a game this season and there appears to be no resolution in sight. Sivers President Daryl Morey said he isn't trading Simmons unless he receives fair market value in return. In the meeting Simmons agent Rich Paul said that his client is dealing with mental health hurdles. What the hell does that mean? If Simmons has mental health issues why would any GM in the league trade for him? Makes no sense to me!

We talk with Rabbi Rebecca Richman of Philadelphia’s Germantown Jewish Centre about environmental justice and the legacy of environmental racism, particularly focusing on her adopted hometown of Philadelpha, whose refinery – which recently made national headlines with a massive conflagration – has harmed Black and brown residents' health for decades. She addresses how the Torah can help us conceive of environmental justice and identify environmental racism. And in an emotional segment, we discuss parenthood in a world that seems spinning out of control. “As a parent...if I don’t take care of this place today, then there is no life for my children. We kick off the episode with a discussion about anarchism and voting. After a roundup of resistance to capitalism and the state, our feature this episode is about Trump's deployment of thousands of troops to “defend the border” and how it is in most people's interest to push back on this latest precedent of using the military against civilian populations. We remember recently deceased anarchists Zhlobitsky Mikhail Vasilyevich and Kevin Garrido. There are calls for mobilizations on the border in the coming weeks, updates from the Vaughn 17 trial, and announcements of anti-fascist actions for the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht. Supporters of the seven strikers at the Toledo Correctional Institution are calling for a phone zap, especially because strikers have been met with rubber bullets in the past in retaliation. You can call ORDC director at 614–387–0588 or Toledo Correctional Institution at 419–726–7977. Sample script: “I am calling on behalf of David Easley, Richard Harris, Elijah Bowen, and James Ward, and all others on hunger strike. We know they have been severely punished with mace and rubber bullets, and I am asking of you to ensure they are not subjected to any further abuse for their actions. I stand behind their demands against adding more solitary confinement wings, and ask that their concerns are addressed promptly. Solitary confinement is extreme and inhumane, and not a solution to overcrowding… no one should be held in solitary because your facilities are inadequate to house them otherwise. There are also reports of harassment and abuse in the 4B overflow units, and I ask that you immediately take steps to guarantee that guards are not tampering with food or denying prisoners proper meals, and lift any restrictions that would prohibit prisoners from receiving books.” If you have some time, consider joining the campaign to free the Virgin Island 3 with the Philly Anarchist Black Cross. Because the governor will be focusing on the election until late November, save the calls, emails and faxes for after November 20th; in the meantime, you can download and print fliers to distribute and send letters. CORRECTIONS & CLARIFICATIONS In Hotwire #43, we said that there was an unpermitted crowd that forced Trump's motorcade to turn around outside the Tree of Life synagogue. There were massive protests, but despite this report we haven't been able to confirm that the protests, in fact, disrupted Trump's motorcade. Blue Ridge Anarchist Black Cross informed us that political prisoner Ed Poindexter only has one good eye, due to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services denying him much needed cataract eye surgery. If you write him a letter, as we requested last week, please write IN LARGE, BOLD PRINT.
No news is good news. 60% of wildlife has been wiped off the planet since 1970. Mexican police kill a man in the migrant caravan on the border with Guatemala. Ever since Trump openly declared himself a nationalist last week, there has been an escalation of far-right violence. We interview an anarchist who works at the Tree of Life synagogue where an anti-Semite massacred 11 people on Saturday, as well as two people in the Outlive Them network about the upcoming International Days of Action against Fascism and Anti-Semitism. We also draw connections between the election of Bolsonaro in Brazil and anarchist resistance to Trump and democracy itself in the United States. Especially importantly, he takes medication for his blood pressure and the prison is withholding his medicine. Supporters can call Warden Beth Cabell, any day other than Friday, at (804) 834–2678. Imposter syndrome is real, and it means that you are human and have achieved success. Be thankful that you have these feelings; they mean you are accomplishing something worthwhile. But that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. For this penultimate podcast episode, Ryan returns to one of the post prevalent issues plaguing directors. Name your imposter syndrome, call it out for what it is, and then keep on doing amazing things. [Subscribe on iTunes] [Subscribe on Android] Show Notes: Feeling like an imposter? Yes. Duh. Of course. Anyone who has achieved any modicum of success (unless they're up their own butt) deals with imposter syndrome. What is it? It’s the fear that you'll be found out; the idea that you're actually a fraud and don't deserve what you've worked so hard to achieve. YOU worked hard and have realized some success. And because YOU'RE responsible for your own success, you feel like YOU put yourself there. Which you did. Which is why it's easier to tell yourself you're a fraud. The reality You deserve your success, for the same reason you feel like an imposter: YOU earned it yourself. Remember, everyone else is working toward their own successes, so why should you feel like you shouldn't. Being successful puts you in the spotlight Now you not only deal with imposter syndrome, you deal with people who hate you for your success. So, now you speak negativity to yourself for the same reasons: Maybe because you took something other than the traditional path, and they watched you take a shortcut and are envious. Maybe you're just plain talented and don't have to work as hard. Maybe you worked harder than others were willing to work. Maybe your focus was on serving others, and those others are giving you all the attention. Maybe you operate in an environment where your peers believe in a zero-sum game, even though you don't. Maybe you're anti-establishment and just popped out of nowhere, not taking the traditional path to success. Maybe those with a higher degree of education (or debt) are struggling, but you chose a different route. Maybe… You name it. The problem with listening to your imposter syndrome You stop doing what helped you achieve success in the first place. You, by proxy, allow your critics to control you and your level of anxiety. It's a losing scenario, because if you listen to your imposter syndrome and kill your success your self-talk changes and attacks you for being a failure. So what do you do? Understand that it's part of being successful. Say “Of course. Just when I'm trying to enjoy life… Here you are!” Name it. (Mine is Phil) Put it in a bubble. Push it out. Affirm, out loud, that you deserve success. Name, out loud, all the people that have benefited along the way. Keep a “Smile File” of notes, emails, cards, articles, and things having to do with your journey that make you smile. Have someone you can talk to about your imposter syndrome who will be your cheerleader. Could be a best friend or spouse, or it could be someone you meet in Choir Nation. Bio: Having spent most of his middle and high school career in detention, Ryan Guth loves to speak to audiences about ways for choral directors to engage the seemingly un-engageable. Ryan learned fearlessness and indomitable spirit from a young age through many years studying the martial arts while also pursuing music – especially the time in middle school when he tried to break a board with his head in front his entire ninth grade class and failed spectacularly. He believes the best choir directors face challenges head-on (no pun intended), are solutions-oriented, and take full responsibility for all aspects of their program. Ryan’s most popular and surprisingly positive article “Your Choir Sucks Because You Suck” was shared over 2,200 times in 48 hours, and has since become his manifesto, mantra, and the platform that his work was built upon. Through his first podcast, Find Your Forte, Ryan connected thousands of weekly listeners with some of the most brilliant minds in choral music such as Helmuth Rilling, Patrick Quigley, Joseph Flummerfelt, James Bass, and 80-plus others. He recognizes the fact we become the best when we learn from the best. In 2017, Ryan created the Choir Ninja podcast to share solutions with middle and high school choral directors so they learn to work smarter – not harder. That’s why he focuses on sharing what works in choral programs across Choir Nation in a way that makes running a great choral program approachable, fun, and rewarding. When not dressing up in his ninja jammies or buffing his diploma from Westminster Choir College, Ryan is a financial advisor in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before that, he spent a decade building a large middle school program and for-profit choral ensemble and musical theater business in central New Jersey. Ryan’s choirs have been heard alongside GRAMMY winners Kenny Rogers, Linda Davis, and The Chieftains and on the stages of Boston’s Symphony Hall, Philadelpha’s Mann Music Center, and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, to name a few. In July 2017, he made his Wolf Trap debut as Chorusmaster with the National Symphony Orchestra as they performed the music of the wildly popular Zelda video game. Ryan was the keynote speaker at the 2017 Iowa Choral Directors Association Annual Summer Symposium, has been a presenter at the Chorus America Annual Conference, and a guest speaker at various other conferences and workshops throughout the year in both the choral and podcasting niches.Ryan enjoys getting lost outdoors with his beautiful fiancé, Amanda, and pitbull-lab Sasha. He also dislikes socks and only wears them when absolutely necessary. This bio was sponsored by Gold Bond Powder. In fairness, following on from a dazzling opening weekend that contained a blitz of tries was always going to be tougher than getting Fijians to play International rugby for Fiji! With talking points galore, there is plenty to discuss from our two hosts Andy and Paddy. ‘In the Bin’ – Part 1 We kick off with a diabolical game up at Sale, before giving you a healthy dose of medicine by getting stuck into Bath and Saracens. An intriguing clash that was sprinkled with some Rokoduguni magic. Leicester just aren’t Leicester-like anymore and we actually say good things about Northampton…. well, lukewarm things. Gloucester are still really Gloucester-like and Quins get their act together. Wasps & Exeter pick up expected wins against Worcester and Irish, but neither were as easy as you might think. A pair of absolute beauties to get us off the mark. ‘In the Bin’ Part 2 As well, we will preview next weekend’s games, including a trip to Philadelpha for the Falcons and Saracens. Should be great fun over there……apart from all the Americans
Cornerstone Fellowship has been through a lot. And there is so much more ahead of us, blessings and challenges! But are we succeeding or failing as a church in God's Kingdom? How can we move from Ephesus to Philadelpha? (Revelation 2)

The Black Christian church community is still behind when it comes to dealing with the issue of mental health. For many individuals, the church is used as a coping mechanism for the emotional and mental stress they experience. While this may help some, there are still many who silently suffer from mental health issues that go unaddressed. Dr. Tynisha Drennon, a licensed pastoral counselor, educator, and minister is the founder of Brighter Day Counseling Services and Clinical Pastoral Education resident at Einstein Health Systems in Philadelpha, PA. joins Pastor Neal to discuss how to care for one's mental and spiritual health. Dr. Drennon visit her website at www.tcdministries.org and to learn more about A Brighter Day Counseling Services visit http://www.abrighterdaypa.com/ This promises to be another exciting show so make sure you tune in!
