PipemanRadio Interviews Super Group Ultrabomb at Punk Rock Bowling XXV in Downtown Las Vegas.Ultrabomb's legacy is already cemented, thanks to the unmatched pedigree of its members. On bass is Greg Norton, a founding member of the trailblazing Hüsker Dü, whose influence helped shape the sound of American punk rock and inspired generations of artists including The Pixies, Green Day, and Foo Fighters. Behind the drums is Derek O'Brien, best known for his work with Social Distortion, who has been a driving force in the genre through his contributions to seminal bands like Agent Orange, Adolescents, and DI.And now, Ultrabomb adds a powerful new dimension with the addition of Ryan Smith (guitar). A veteran musician, songwriter, and producer, Smith is known for his work with Soul Asylum. His dynamic presence and deep roots in punk and indie rock make him a natural fit for Ultrabomb's raw and high-voltage sound.Ultrabomb played a one-off show during Punk Rock Bowling, performing at the Punk Rock Saves Lives event at Hogs and Heifers on Saturday, May 24.In addition, fans had a rare opportunity to connect with punk rock history: Greg Norton offered personalized tours of the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas on May 22, 23, and 24.Subscribe to The Adventures of Pipeman at https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-adventures-of-pipeman--941822/support  Take some zany and serious journeys with The Pipeman aka Dean K. We're back to discuss all the latest, greatest, and strangest in the rock world with Geekwire! Here's what we're chewing on this time: David Lee Roth performs Van Halen hits at the M3 Rock Festival. Reactions were mixed. We give ours. A behind-the-scenes book on This Is Spinal Tap and its sequel is set for release in September. We hope it's in Dubly. Rikki Rockett says Poison gets a strong offer for a 2026 headlining tour; but it's up to Bret Michaels. Will The Cat get Dragged In again in 2026? Wolfgang Van Halen explains why he dropped the "WVH" from Mammoth's name and we try to decipher what he's talking about. Kirk Hammett unboxes Metallica's remastered Load deluxe box set and enthusiastically celebrates it's artwork. A fan spends $12,495 to be Gene Simmons's roadie and shares the experience. Was it worth the dough? Henry Rollins discusses large-scale Punk Rock Museum project and we speculate on it's possible Nashville location. Dee Snider explains why he moved his family to rural North Carolina. Was it worth The Price? A dump truck crashes into the Whisky A Go Go ahead of a Boy Hits Car concert. We really do live in a simulation, eh? George Lynch launches a new band, George Lynch & The Mob, with a rotating lineup. Basically, Lynch Mob. Motörhead's previously unreleased 1976 album The Manticore Tapes gets a release. We share our excitement. A rumor circulates that Led Zeppelin plans a new album and 2026 tour. But, is it even true? Additionally, we touch on listener-submitted topics including Sammy Hagar (yes, again), new releases from LA Guns and Faster Pussycat, Steve Perry collaborating with Willie Nelson, Sleep Token, the live return of Savatage, an upcoming Stryper Christmas album and more. Punk rock came roaring to life in a cramped, dingy bar on New York City's Lower East Side called CBGB at 315 Bowery. More known for its filthy bathrooms than its drinks or food—legendary rock photographer Bob Gruen said with a laugh, “It was not a place you'd eat at.”—it is significant for its oversized influence on rock ‘n' roll history. It's the punk rock Cavern Club, a launching pad for new genres of music that still reverberate today. Punk scene likely would have happened without CBGB, but the grungy little club gave it a homebase. In this podcast I'll talk about the unruly story of an accidental cultural incubator born out of a unique moment in history where outsiders, like The Ramones, The Dead Boys, Talking Heads and Blonde, were brought together, celebrated and encouraged to be themselves. Joining me to tell the story of CBGB are photographer Boib gruen, filmmaker, co-founder of “Punk” magazine and CBGBite Mary Harron, The ‘B' Girls singer Lucasta Ross and The Punk Rock Museum co-founder Lisa Brownlee. Topping it off is an interview from the vault I did with CBGB's owner Hilly Kristal in 1992

#203: In 1993, the band Orange County punk band Guttermouth asked Louis Posen, then a film student at Cal State Northridge, to help them put out an album. That marked the start of the independent music label Hopeless Records and its 30-year history of representing punk, ska, metal bands — and later, alternative musicians more broadly. Some of the most well-known bands they've represented include Avenged Sevenfold, All Time Low, Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, Thrice and New Found Glory. Now, in celebration of its 30 year anniversary, the label has put together an exhibit of memorabilia that's currently on display at the Valley Relics Museum in Van Nuys. From there, it'll travel on to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and then the new Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas. Guests: Louis Posen, Hopeless Records founder and president; Erin Choi, Hopeless Records employee; Carissa Leong, Loyola Marymount student and Hopeless Records fan; DE'WAYNE, musician and former Hopeless Records artist Songs featured in this episode: "Hopeless" by Guttermouth "Eternal Rest" by Avenged Sevenfold "Die Out Here" by DE'WAYNE (ft. Poorstacy) "Just A Little" by Masego, DE'WAYNE "Better By Myself" by Hey Violet "Superpowers Enable Me To Blend In With Machinery" by Dillinger Four "Coffee Shop Soundtrack" by All Time Low "5,6,7,8" by LØLØ (ft. girlfriends) "Jet Song" by Schlong "Te Llevo Conmigo" by Destroy Boys

1987 was a watershed year for Hip Hop.  It saw the debut albums from Ice-T, NWA & the Posse, Boogie Down Productions and Eric B & Rakim.  All are certifiable classics but it was Public Enemy's debut that was sonically the most adventurous.  The beeps and wails of the Bomb Squads production coupled with Chuck D's booming baritone and Flavor Flav's enticing prompts was unlike anything that had come before (or anything since).  The militant stance projected in the Black Panther inspired cover photo wasn't wholly present in Chuck's lyrics yet (that would come fully formed on their sophomore LP a year later) but all the pieces were in place to make PE one of the most important acts in the genres history.     RIP Cormac McCarthy RIP Chris Hassett  RIP Bob Nalbandian   Recommended Listening:   EP17:  “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back” https://huntsmanhill.com/2017/03/20/ep17-public-enemy-it-takes-a-nation-of-millions-to-hold-us-back/   EP224:  Living Colour “Vivid” https://huntsmanhill.com/2023/05/28/ep224-living-colour-vivid/   The Punk Rock Museum https://www.thepunkrockmuseum.com   fIREHOSE “Sophisticated Bitch”  https://open.spotify.com/track/3GWvQf6EaAYoNuZ9owMeBa?si=4a1677aff7fa4316   Contact us at:  huntsmanhillpodcast@gmail.com Spotify Playlist:  https://open.spotify.com/user/1298220429/playlist/4gy1wWwypkoFS2lUztvZ44?si=waSq07DBQlq3x9G1_nK0pg   HHPP Amazon Affiliates Store https://huntsmanhill.com/2022/06/09/hhpp-store/   Our Music manhuntsman:  https://open.spotify.com/artist/7tFBWn0UFkdOEMf67TRD6W?si=vzllkbDwSEmfZFlj02GLRwAcademy O.C:  https://academyoc.bandcamp.com/album/academy-o-c   Omertà 68:  https://open.spotify.com/artist/6dfiCa0qTlbPQUrqtIkStS?si=6SCjNtXbSO2xRBDuBKJelQ   huntsmanhill.com instagram.com/huntsmanhill https://twitter.com/HuntsmanHill

The boys are back in town! In episode 13, we come in hot with a story about Drew and Steve going to their first Rodeo a few years back and a detour to Hooters. We then talk about Drew and his family breaking new ground and the progress of building their own house. We then get into Josh's extreme make over In which he cut his glorious long locks and then naturally we talk about Lice checks in school. Fun fact, Tom Petty played for the Sacramento Rivercats. We briefly talked about different Easter thoughts and stories and Fox making bread. We break down Indiana Jones and the new movie, turns out Josh isn't a fan of Indiana Jones, but none the less, Indiana Jones rules. It's not a surprise, but Fox talks about the time he went to a Charles Dickens fair and then the Dudes debate if Charles Dickens invented Christmas, also apparently, it's a Fox family tradition…, Steve talks about having Josh written a cease and desist for his daughters Disney Musical. Steve then talks about going on a family vacation to the glorious city of Portland. Steve talks about getting punked by a worker at a Raptor center and the possibility to running an animal over in a drive through Animal sanctuary. Things get hot and heated when Steve explains the bar scene in Portland and then they wear out their welcome at the hotel pool when he and his family took over the indoor pool. The Dudes then discuss the possibility of joining the naked Portland bike parade…probably not going to happen, also, no one like doughnuts except Fox. Drew reveals that it bought an electric scooter and Fox shares his story about wiping out on one, Drew explains why he got and one it makes perfect sense, and we should all get one. Naturally, Goth night comes back up and Fox is VERY into checking in out. The Dude somehow try to explain what Goth means to then…What if Goth was one of us? Everyone agrees that Danzig rules. Josh shares his experience of Seeing his favorite band Mastodon and how he sat with some of the artists that designed some of the posters that adorn the walls of Dude Stewdio.  They then talk about Blink 182's triumphant or lack thereof of a reunion and Drew is pumped. Steve and Drew talk about the Punk Rock Museum. The Dude then talk about the cooking episode and Steve confesses how he almost started ANOTHER fire in his backyard, apparently Drew almost did the same thing. I fell in love with punk rock music as an early teen in the 90s. The music was fast, the energy was potent, and the art was awe inspiring. That lead me on a journey to playing in various bands for over a decade. I made so many friends and fun music along the way.  So when I found out there was going to be a punk rock museum built in Las Vegas, NV I knew I had to be there. Not only that, I knew I had to get the story of how 50 years of punk music, art, and culture would be curated.  On this episode I have a fun conversation with Mona, Lisa, and Fat Mike (of NOFX and Fat Wreck Chords) who all helped make this amazing place a reality.  Thanks to everyone who built the punk rock museum! thepunkrockmuseum.com

The KOPPOD Troika and Special Guest Conner spend the first half hour reviewing THE DWARVES classic album 'Blood, Guts, & Pussy'. This segment inaugurates a tentative new series of brief album reviews. In this installment the conversation veers into seedy territory uncharacteristic of KOPPOD - go figure, given the album in question. In the second half your hosts turn their gaze towards Fat Mike's new PUNK ROCK MUSEUM in Las Vegas. This discussion leads them to some broader questions regarding subculture and aesthetics in the 21st century. Kevin tells Stryker about starting Warped Tour in 1995 and being totally broke after the tour. The price of tickets for the festival was $15.00! Kevin tells Stryker how Calvin Klein was almost the title sponsor before Vans became the main sponsor. Kevin and Mark McGrath had a chat about not only staying on the tour but continuing to play on the small stage even though the band was exploding with popularity. Kevin and Stryker chat about why Warped Tour took place outside and a daytime festival. He always wanted to pay homage to the past while moving forward. The bands that Kevin Lyman thought were great from day one were My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and AFI. Kevin talks about how Simple Plan played Warped 17 times while Less Than Jake played the festival the most! Kevin tells Stryker that 2017 was the year things on the Warped Tour went wrong, from the weather being terrible to the "youtube culture" to getting death threats on twitter based on some bands that were booked to play or bands that were not thrown off the tour. Kevin talks about losing sleep over the threats made to him and his family. In 2018, USC asked Kevin to teach, he's a full time professor teaching 5 classes! Kevin says "You can do good, and do good business!" When it comes to bands.....he says we need bands to stand for something! Kevin tells Stryker that he is on the board of the unopened Punk Rock Museum. Kevin tell Stryker exclusively that the museum in Vegas will open October 21st, the night before the "When We Were Young" festival kicks off. Kevin talks about Katy Perry being on Warped Tour and how New Radicals were a band that he liked that never got huge. He also was confused why G eazy does not mention his Warped Tour days. Kevin loves Yungblud! Kevin talks about Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit as well. Kevin Lyman is full of so much knowledge and is such a nice and generous dude.
