Seine Shows sind keine Show. Barry Posen, professor of political science at MIT, argues that Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 qualifies as a preventive war and was motivated in part to thwart U.S.-led efforts to expand NATO in Europe. He responds to detractors from this view and also discusses the partial political responsibility of U.S. leaders, the difference between explaining the war and justifying it, the lack of strategic empathy in U.S. foreign policy, how best to negotiate the end of the war, and whether the U.S. is making a similar mistake in incentivizing preventive war logic in Beijing with respect to Taiwan. War da was? Not all Bears!) männlichen Exemplaren immer wieder begegnet, sondern noch einen drauf setzen?

Louis has been responsible for some important signings in the industry over the years including All Time Low, The Used, Thrice and of course, Avenged Sevenfold. Johnny and Louis reminisce on the time they worked together and how he was introduced to the band. The two also discuss more about Hopeless and its beginnings as well as Louis' journey to becoming a record executive from studying film in college and making a music video for NOFX. With some laughs and stories along the way the two old friends break down a bit of the industry today from a label's perspective and how streaming & royalties are affected in the new forum of music. Enjoy responsibly and catch the Hopeless Records Museum on tour now, and soon to be at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas.

In this episode, Alan Dunne welcomes former central banker and current President of the Peterson Institute, Adam Posen, to discuss the economic outlook and monetary policy. Posen explains why he believes markets are mistaken in expecting rate cuts next year and identifies the key factors driving stronger economic growth. They explore global central banking and monetary policy, examining the successes and challenges of inflation targeting, the models used by central banks, and the most important variables to monitor for policy decisions. Posen also discusses why inflation targeting may become more challenging in the coming years and argues that less forward guidance from policymakers could be beneficial. They discuss the outlook for fiscal policy for the next administration and Posen explains that while a fiscal crisis is not his base case, he foresees significant upside risks to bond yields in the coming years.-----EXCEPTIONAL RESOURCE: Find Out How to Build a Safer & Better Performing Portfolio using this FREE NEW Portfolio Builder Tool-----Follow Niels on Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube or via the TTU website.IT's TRUE ? – most CIO's read 50+ books each year – get your FREE copy of the Ultimate Guide to the Best Investment Books ever written here. And you can get a free copy of my latest book “Ten Reasons to Add Trend Following to Your Portfolio” here.Learn more about the Trend Barometer here.Send your questions to info@toptradersunplugged.comAnd please share this episode with a like-minded friend and leave an honest Rating & Review on iTunes or Spotify so more people can discover the podcast.Follow Alan on Twitter.Follow Adam on Twitter.Episode TimeStamps: 02:10 - Introduction to Adam Posen05:45 - Was it all about luck?07:40 - Was the Covid19 period handled the wrong way economically?12:06 - Are we going into more challenging times for inflation targeting?13:56 - The political pressure on central banks16:48 - The challenges of inflation targeting23:47 - A micro-managing nightmare?29:50 - What are the

There is no doubt that China's economy is struggling. After Chinese President Xi Jinping ended the country's zero-COVID policy a year ago, most economists expected growth to surge—but that never really happened, and deeper problems became apparent. So what are the exact causes of China's stagnation?  The economists Adam Posen, Zongyuan Zoe Liu, and Michael Pettis each have different answers. China's future—and the future of the United States' policy toward China—hinges on which of their answers is the right one. Zach and Rhett kick things off with a catch-up on recent projects. Rhett celebrates his new 100 watt Two Rock Classic Reverb Signature, which recently terrorized a couple sitting in the front row of one of his gigs. Then guitarist Ariel Posen logs on to, first and foremost, clear up how to pronounce his name. He gives a quick tutorial: just say guitar, add “ee” and “ell,” then take out the “guit” sound.Posen and Rhett swap horror stories from working on film sets, where they were expected to do way more than their job descriptions covered. Both agree that the film life is infinitely worse than touring. “I don't know shit!” protests Posen. “I'm just a guitar player, dude!”Posen discusses how he got into playing slide in standard tuning by learning George Harrison leads (blues slide guitar was never his thing), but Canadian guitarist Kevin Breit inspired him to try open tunings, a process with “a lot of trial by fire, lots of, ‘oops, sorry!'” Blake Mills' 2014 record Heigh Ho prompted Posen to chase lower tunings, although Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Big Wreck lit that same candle years earlier. For the open tuning-curious, Posen suggests starting in open E.Posen talks about how he wrote his new record, and the honesty and simplicity behind his favorite lyricists like Jason Isbell. Finally, the trio dig into how to stack and squeeze the best sounds from your fuzz pedals. (Is a mini version of the Mythos Argo fuzz pedal coming? Zach doesn't say yes—but he doesn't say no, either.)
