Do you recognize any patterns in your life? As a human being, I'm sure the answer is a resounding yes. When you find yourself defaulting to an unwanted pattern, you can choose to ignore it or do the work to clear it. In this episode, I unpack the deep connection between thoughts, beliefs, and actions, as well as what I do when I start reliving old patterns that don't serve me.In the past few months, I found myself believing that no one understands me, I don't have room in my personal life for my work, and that the people I love the most don't respect my career. The busy holiday season brought me back to the years when I was raising my children and supporting my husband's career. It's been a long time since these thoughts have come up, but it was an important reminder that life is about presence, not perfection. When I found myself feeling depleted and stagnant, I took an honest look at my sleep, nutrition, movement, and mindset. I leaned into the practices that have supported me in the past, such as doing my sunrise and sunset routines, getting on my Power Plate, and mirror gazing. Most importantly, when I felt resistance or constriction, I became really curious about it and worked to reframe the thoughts that would appear in those moments. Listen in to hear how you can cultivate space to release unconscious thought patterns and create a strategy to free yourself from the beliefs that hold you back. If you are enjoying these conversations, please subscribe and spread the love by leaving a review and sharing it with your friends.Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, or on your favorite podcast platform. Topics Covered: Why it's so important to recognize patterns in your lifeSigns that you're experiencing a crisis of confidenceUnderstanding how your thoughts impact your beliefs and actions The tools I learned in therapy that I consistently rely on My advice to anyone who feels trapped by their unconscious patterns Resources Mentioned:Learn more about LifeWaveUse code VitallyYou for 20% off your ENERGYbits order The Work of Byron KatiePower PlateBeauty Fascia 30-Day Challenge   Past Episodes Mentioned:Vitally You Episode 76: Daily Ritual Quiet Time PracticeVitally You Episode 110: A Calming Meditation to Soothe Emotional TriggersGet in Touch: Become an insider and sign up for My Newsletter — scroll down to the box "Don't Miss A Thing"My WebsiteInstagramContact MeSpecial offers: Download the Daily Vitality eBook at danafrost.com/daily-vitality/Credit:Podcast Production by the team at The Wave PodcastingMusic by Phoebe GreenlandPhotography by Amy Boyle PhotographyPodcast art by SimplyBe. In today's episode, I discuss the emotional experiences that are magnified during the holidays and the extremes of navigating the healing process. I invite you to sit with me for a few moments while I lead a meditation to soothe emotional triggers and provide a pillow of support. It's a potent time of the year and I want to stick with you on this journey back to yourself.  First, I guide you through how to find a comfortable position and begin to connect with your body. What does your breath feel like? Allow physical touch as you bring attention to all parts of yourself. From there, start to notice the sensations and vibrations throughout your electric body. Where do you feel tingling? When you bring attention to a part of your body, you can understand what's happening in that part of the body. This light body is your vital life force. As you are present in your light body, I share a visualization technique to encapsulate your earth body with a golden light. Then, slowly acknowledge an emotional trigger as you release it from the heart. Can your golden light flow into the heart, clearing energy with warmth and ease? You have the power to be present with your feelings and care for them.I'm thinking about you, the Vitally You community, with gratitude, respect, and compassion. No matter what you are going through, I hope you feel supported and held. Listen to this episode for a meditation that will guide you into a container of compassion. In today's episode, I share three coaching tips to help you thrive during the holidays and explore how these self-care strategies can raise energy, shift perspective, and promote healing. I also provide specific examples to help integrate these tips into your daily life beyond the holiday season.Tip #1: Give yourself permission to take timeouts when with extended family or during large gatherings. Carving out time for yourself will keep your energy tank properly refueled. I detail why I call these the “islands of respite.”Tip #2: Practice a 12-hour fast and be mindful that your daily habits include consuming protein, fiber, and fat. Also, make sure you're staying hydrated and properly digesting and eliminating. I illustrate how this allows the body to properly reset and heal throughout the day and night. Tip #3: Use the Freeze Frame five-step HeartMath technique to shift you from a triggered state to a state where you can heal. I share why this is a powerful tool to call upon our Higher Self and observe the beneficial shifts. Plus, I detail an exciting health tech startup called The Metapause that wants to change the menopause narrative and experience for women. I share how my own menopause story was related to my 2011 health crisis involving a pacemaker, various doctors, and learning the role of hormonal health beyond our physical structure. I want to invite you to evaluate every aspect of your life in support of an easier menopause transition and healing in a healthy way.Listen to this episode for three coaching tips to help you thrive during the holiday, plus information on an exciting new health tech startup that wants to change the menopause narrative. When we explore the etymology of the term "decide," we uncover its roots in the Latin word "decidere." "De-" means "off" or "down," and "caedere" means "to cut." In this historical context, "decide" originally meant to "cut off" or "cut away" alternative possibilities. The crucial insight? If we decide in advance of emotionally charged events, we are more likely to make logical, wise decisions. Decisiveness involves navigating uncertainty with clarity and purpose. The power of decisiveness lies in making choices that shape outcomes, allowing us to carve a deliberate path forward. By approaching decisions with foresight and careful consideration, we empower ourselves to make logical, wise decisions, mitigating the pitfalls of emotional reactivity. This proactive stance enables leaders to navigate challenges with a clear, level-headed perspective, fostering a culture of thoughtful decision-making without the need for drastic measures. Be sure to tune in to this episode to gain insights into: The real-life consequences of defaulting to quick, emotionally driven, reactive responses. The one person you spend more time with than anyone else is yourself. So, it's no surprise that your internal dialogue with yourself is also more crucial than any other conversation you could have. In my coaching sessions, I often discover that my clients' internal conversations are the stumbling blocks for their career success. For example, without evidence, they've convinced themselves that giving direct feedback will lead to being disliked by their direct reports or that holding their team accountable might brand them as a micromanager. But here's the truth: these worries are often more unfounded than valid. The reality often differs from the fears our internal dialogues present. Spend Your Energy Wildly is the topic for Part 6, the final episode in our six-part book series. Gladys' teaching is that living well is a matter of learning how to steer your energy toward life. I recap the previous five lessons and illustrate how to receive the lessons and love from each moment. I share client stories and moments from my own life tied to the choice of expanding your energy wildly vs. wisely. I end the episode with Gladys' six-part practice on how to embrace and appreciate the gift of life. Gladys shares the decision to stop fighting at school in order to make connections. She had to redirect the energy and unconscious patterns created in her family with intention and purpose. We all have sovereignty over our energy. I share a moment from my life when my husband and I were inspired by families in our church to adopt children of our own. I discovered the capacity of both my light and darkness while raising five children, but I had the agency to expand and move toward light energy. I also illustrate Gladys' practice on how to embrace life with a series of questions for inquiry so life can grow and expand with you. Can you feel life's boundless energy moving throughout your body? This message is a reminder to embrace the wildness of life around you. Listen in to learn Glady's teachings as a stepping stone on the journey to a life well-lived. I end the episode with Gladys' practice for finding the teacher in all things. Gladys shares the challenge around divorce and personal devastation, but how it was also a calling to something greater. Traditional models of leadership are often presented as cookie-cutter frameworks, but the reality is that true leadership isn't so clear-cut. The key realization for leaders is that there is no single "right" way to lead. It's about finding a give-and-take, striking a balance, and recognizing the spectrum of approaches that may be needed depending on the situation. In this episode, we will explore four common dual models of leadership that are important to consider. In this episode of Real Relationships Real Revenue, I sat down with Leidy Klotz to talk about the mindset of subtracting versus adding. Often when we want to make something better, we want to add to it, but sometimes the answer is actually to take something away. Lady is here to explain this concept to us and show us how we can apply that to our work in our organizations for increased success.    Topics We Cover in This Episode:  Why we automatically think to add instead of subtract Strategies to decide when to add and when to take away How the rule of three applies to this concept How to apply the idea of subtraction to deepening relationships Subtracting things to get your time back What to do when you're finding yourself overwhelmed How to figure out what to subtract  How we can be more successful in managing our energy The power of a to-don't list    I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Leidy! If you've ever struggled with things analysis paralysis, overthinking, or just plain 'ol stinkin' thinkin' then this episode is for you. ____________________________________________ When we think something over and over again, our thoughts quickly become patterns and those patterns then turn into beliefs. Now beliefs can either be positive beliefs (things that will actually help us and support us and make us feel more confident and be more effective), or they can be negative beliefs that can make us doubt ourselves, be less effective, and fail to create the results that we really want. The problem is that they're not that easy to uncover. Are you a founder or business owner who's looking to scale your vision, develop high-level leadership skills, or transition from startup to corporate? She provides key insights such as why all founders should hire a leadership coach, how to align your business and workforce strategies, and what to do if you're stuck in the ‘Norming' stage of business growth. Plus, Seneca shares tips and advice on how you can better delegate responsibilities, so you're not stuck wearing all the hats as a founder.  "One of the challenges of getting stuck at ‘norming' is you are now in a place that is comfortable: You are hitting your targets and doing work in a way that feels operationally efficient—but that doesn't necessarily mean that you're achieving innovative goals. You're not getting to that next stage of performing and really stretching. One of the reasons might be for that fear that you would fall back into ‘storming' phase because performing includes an element of risk.” - Seneca Smith  Please see important podcast disclosure information at https://monumentwealthmanagement.com/disclosures.      Episode Timeline/Key Highlights:  [00:52] Introducing Seneca Smith & the topic of today's episode.  [01:57] Forming, Storming, Norming, & Performing.  [02:52] What should founders be thinking about and doing when going from startup to formal business (from Forming to Storming)?  [04:36] Scaling your vision for your business.  [11:06] What to do if you're stuck in the Norming stage & How to break into the Performing stage.  [14:01] Wearing all the hats isn't sustainable for founders.
