Ted takes us back to twenty years ago, a glorious time in Patriots history. It begins with a loss to the Steelers, and ends with Super Bowl XXXIX, a win over the Eagles.
Saquon Barkley has more yards against a stacked box than any other defensive scheme. Bill Belichick has a theory as to why. If you miss him, he is going all the way to the house. Hart says that the best player in the league right now is Saquon Barkley. Mahomes is the greatest player in the league. Ted calls linebackers today soft and gives his game plan as to how to stop Saquon. Make the Eagles rely on their passing game in order to win. You have to have a lead at halftime if you want to beat the Chiefs. You need to hold at least a ten point lead at halftime to have a shot at beating Mahomes. Episode 267 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we're back on the gridiron discussing Donovan McNabb. After a successful career at Syracuse, McNabb was taken second overall in the 1999 NFL Draft. Though some Philadelphia fans were not happy with the selection at the time, McNabb was the Eagles' starting signal-caller for the next 11 seasons. A dual-threat as a runner and a passer, McNabb brought star power to the quarterback position for the Eagles. Philadelphia was one of the NFC's best teams during his prime, and he helped lead his team to Super Bowl XXXIX after the 2004 campaign. Though he ran into issues with teammates like Terrell Owens and with injuries, McNabb made six Pro Bowls and led Philadelphia to five NFC East titles during his tenure with the team. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-sports-experience-pod/support

Los sencillos «Who's Crying Now», «Don't Stop Believin'» y «Open Arms» llegaron al Top 10. Daniel Koppen (born September 12, 1979) is a former American football center. He played college football for Boston College, and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. New England Patriots (2003–2011)Koppen entered the 2003 NFL Draft following college and was selected by the New England Patriots in the fifth round with the 164th overall choice. Koppen entered the 2003 season as the backup to Pro Bowl center Damien Woody; however, Woody missed Week 2 with an injury, giving an opportunity for Koppen to start his first NFL game. Woody returned the next week, but a season-ending injury to starting guard Mike Compton allowed Woody to slide to the guard position and Koppen to start the remainder of the season at center, including the Patriots' Super Bowl XXXVIII win over the Carolina Panthers. Following the season, Woody signed with the Detroit Lions, leaving Koppen as the Patriots' starting center. Koppen started all 16 games for the Patriots in 2004, earning his second Super Bowl ring in as many seasons with the Patriots' victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX. The first 30 days of October in 2004 were pure bliss for sports fans in New England. The Patriots were the darlings of the NFL, boasting two Super Bowl victories over the past three years, and an NFL-record 21-game winning streak. But Halloween proved to be a nightmare for New England. In Pittsburgh, the Patriots fell to Ben Roethlisberger's Steelers, and also lost their All-Pro cornerback, Ty Law, to a season-ending injury. In the weeks that followed, other key defensive backs missed time as well, leaving a once-dominant defense vulnerable to the pass. Such losses would be too great to overcome for most teams. But the Patriots bounced back better than anyone imagined possible. Utilizing a patchwork secondary, which included 33-year-old wide receiver Troy Brown as a nickel back, New England defeated Peyton Manning's Colts in a divisional playoff, and then won the rematch against Big Ben in Pittsburgh for the AFC Championship. All that stood between the Patriots and a third world title in four seasons was the most fearsome receiver in the game, Philadelphia's Terrell Owens, in Super Bowl XXXIX. So join NFL Films as they tell the story of the '04 Patriots, a team as resilient and creative as any in NFL history. America's Game uses exclusive interviews from Bill Belichick, Brown and Tedy Bruschi to recount New England's bid to become a dynasty.
I'm joined by an NFL vet and 2 x super bowl champion Tyrone Poole We discuss the latest NFL news and some of the important coaches and games in his career Poole has also played for Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, and Tennessee Titans. He earned Super Bowl rings with the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl XXXIX. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rationalhour/support
David Hanscom has an entertainment company that provides DJs, photo booths and more for weddings and corporate events. David has also been featured on television, radio programs, industry magazines, as well as selecting the headlining talent at events such as Super Bowl XXXIX. Getting StartedDavid started podcasting and creation online content because it was a natural extension of what he likes to do. He likes to talk, and he also loves to hear people's stories. He also loves to hear about the successes people have and how they accomplish those things. While we all face different struggles and challenges in life, when we engage in conversation, we learn more about each other. We can see that the challenges a DJ has are not very different from the challenges of a restaurant who suddenly has to cut their capacity of guests by half or down to 25%. One of the things that David always wanted to do was to find a way to give back to the industry. He says a lot of amazing people mentored him and guided him especially in the early years. Even now, he still looks to these people for help and guidance. The Benefit Of Doing Live ShowsDavid says that sometimes when you do a podcast, it feels like being on a one-way street. Occasionally, you'll get comments on your podcast or somebody might reach out to you, but the communication is not instant. That’s one of the clear benefits of doing a live show. You can have direct interaction without delay. And that is quite powerful. Another one of the really cool benefits is having a different guest every week. That created a drive in me to keep going out and finding new, interesting people to bring on board. And number two, I think it's helped me to, understand the importance of kind of this symbiotic relationship where one person is not doing all the talking all the time and make it more of a communication and less of a presentation, if The Power of PivotingHistorically, we have seen big companies that have gone out of business because they did not pivot. For example, Blockbuster went out because they did not change their business model when Netflix came along. A modern business needs to be able to pivot and adapt to the wants and needs of the customers. David has stayed relevant within his industry because of pivoting. Through content creation, David has been able to educate people and to engage in healthy conversations on a regular basis. Podcasting and live streaming has given him the opportunity to start laying the foundation and planting the seeds for the future. This concept is the same as if you were making investments. It's not always a direct line from making a podcast to money in your pocket. Rather, it's more of cultivating those relationships and being able to make those connections. Specifically, Del discusses: His story and how he developed his passion for sports, refereeing, writing, and leadership (2:26) The importance of knowing one’s angle and perspective in refereeing, and what it has to do with life outside of sports (12:14) The pros and cons of instant replay and VAR, whether we should get rid of it, and what life lessons we are missing because of its implementation (16:34) Make-up calls and compounding mistakes, and what life lessons we can learn from them (20:44) Power trips and referees making it about them, and what that can teach us about leadership outside the pitch (24:27) The law vs. application of the law, subjectivity in refereeing, and how it plays out in our life and leadership outside the game (28:30) The #1 complaint referees get, and what it has to do with other areas of our lives (31:37) Why we ought to respect officials, how we can properly do so, and how it relates to our lives and leadership off the pitch (40:36) Some great quotes from CEOs and other leaders in his book, Advice from the Top, and how they can help us in our life and leadership (47:58) (Below are some quotes from the book) How Del has used the lessons learned through sports in his life and leadership off the pitch (55:39) Selected Quotes from Advice from the Top Joe Moglia, Former TD Ameritrade CEO and Head Football Coach of Coastal Carolina University (from the Foreword “Just before Super Bowl XXXIX, I gave an interview to Del about the football lessons that apply to business. Here are a few X’s and O’s from my interview with Del: Be sure your people are playing in the right positions. Know the odds of success and the consequence of failure when taking a risk. Ingenious game plans fail if no one is blocking and tackling. Success requires spiritual soundness, dedication, courage and love. Love is the willingness to sacrifice for the team. It doesn't matter how many points you score if the team loses. "In football and business there are star performers. Convince the stars that the only way to succeed is to reach team goals." "The star quarterback won't be effective if he's on the ground due to lousy protection. In business, if your star running back doesn't recognize the importance of his blockers, you need another back." "You can have good athletes playing the wrong position. Move underperforming employees to where they can be successful." Larry Brown, NBA and Dream Team Coach “If your best player has great character, the chances of succeeding are incredible. If your best player is not of good character, then you have a problem.” Mike Eruzione, Captain of the 1980 U.S. Hockey Team on beating impossible odds "Game winners aren’t luck. They’re practice and preparation unless the shot bounces off somebody's head and goes in." "Miracles are one part luck, nine parts hard work." "If you believe you're going to lose, you probably will." Ronnie Lott, NFL Hall of Famer with the 49ers “It’s like players who invest time looking at film. Reflect on things you want to achieve each day.” Dan Lyons, Olympic Rower "The best team members feed off each other. They are a little quirky and odd. Bland groups, no matter how strong and powerful, underperform. That's the strength of diversity. It's not just racial or ethnic or gender diversity, it's diversity of spirit, of seeing life and the world." Wynton Marsalis, Trumpeter, composer, bandleader on the leadership lessons of jazz "When people trust each other they work for the common good. They are in sync and prepared for anything." Steve Young, Former 49er QB “Perfect information is never available. Gut instinct is crucial. Play a little blind, throw the ball trusting the receiver will be there. Tune in to discover all this and more, and maybe even learn a bit about Matt Busby or one of the figures on the Sgt. Pepper cover!
