Comment 1: Ken Fallon on 2024-11-25: "Target Audience of 1" Mailing List discussions Policy decisions surrounding HPR are taken by the community as a whole. This discussion takes place on the Mail List which is open to all HPR listeners and contributors. The discussions are open and available on the HPR server under Mailman. The threaded discussions this month can be found here: https://lists.hackerpublicradio.com/pipermail/hpr/2024-November/thread.html Events Calendar With the kind permission of LWN.net we are linking to The LWN.net Community Calendar. Quoting the site: This is the LWN.net community event calendar, where we track events of interest to people using and developing Linux and free software. Clicking on individual events will take you to the appropriate web page. Any other business It's been another hectic month here at HPR Towers. As we discussed on the mailing list most of the time was taken by the migration to Mastodon, and the implementation of the mirrors on the Community Content Delivery Network. Some daily stats are been updated on https://hub.hackerpublicradio.org/hpr_ccdn_stats.tsv Summary of the changes to the repo https://repo.anhonesthost.net/HPR Dave updated his tooling for processing shows and they are now available on the Gitea repo. We finally got around to creating the HPR Documentation wiki. Community Content Delivery Network (CCDN) A location to track the deployment of the HPR Community Content Delivery Network, that provides a mirror network for our content. HPR Website Design This is literally in the whiteboard phase of the HPR website redesign. Where we can track Compatibility of the clients subscribed to our feeds. Useful Resources Where we can link to other free culture sites that provide useful services. Requested Topics Where we can track topics that have been requested, and link to shows that addressed them. There is also a list with information about Podcatcher and Podcasting Platform Compatibility. If anyone wants to adopt a player then please do so. The section on Workflow will be changing shortly due to Dave stepping aside, and also the need to distribute to multiple end points. All the processing will happen first, and then all the checks will be done at the same stage just prior to posting. For this to work we need help finding a simple manageable WYSIWYG editor that can produce sane HTML when the host uploads the show. We also need a new system to distribute the files from an origin to all the mirrors. Other changes and fixes. The day of the week is now available on the website. Fixed the RSS feed to show explicit status. Fixed a bug that limited the future feed to just 10 shows. Fixed a typo in the status page. Following feedback, added emphasis about the upcoming two weeks, to the scheduling guidelines. Notable shout out to the people who are promoting HPR and are helping people out with audio issues. Provide feedback on this episode.

Tim J.M. Rohrer shares stories from The World's Greatest Mentor.
This is a re-broadcast of an episode we did under our former podcast name. Tim T and Tim J get into the decades-long debate on whether or not Christians should participate in Halloween activities such as dressing up in costumes and trick-or-treating. In a few places, we respond to popular Christian YouTuber Mike Winger, who made a video about the issue. It is a lively discussion covering much ground and related topics such as holiness, imagination, fear, and Christian media. We hope you enjoy the episode! In this episode, we continue to discuss the topic of peace. Inspired by a line in Tim T's book, Tim J tells how it got him thinking about what spiritual maturity could look like in a believer's life. We also touch on what Christians inherit from being part of God's kingdom and dive into some Scripture supporting the conversation. Tim J then guides the conversation to talk about Tim T's new book, particularly the first chapter, which addresses the topic of peace.
All das erzählt Tim Jürgens.
The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson”. Einfach nach ‘On the Way to New Work' suchen und abonnieren, um keine Folge zu verpassen.

This episode features a lengthy discussion on politics where Tim J shares his thoughts on Christian engagement in politics. We also discuss a meme that Tim T made which kicked off the topic in the first place. Finally, we discuss the subject of Christian entertainment and what we wish it would do better. P.S. The name of the medieval theologian Tim T had a brain fart about was Thomas Aquinas.
In this episode, Tim J discusses how he's been rethinking the core components of the Christian faith and what it's meant for his spiritual growth. We also talk about how God has surprised us recently and how they relate to the fruit of the Spirit. Email: theologytaco@gmail.com

Timestamps: 1:17 - From creative work to the business world 11:37 - The graveyard of brand names 20:21 - Responsible consumption and emotional attractiveness 30:32 - Storytelling and investors 52:17 - Focused internationalization About Lena Jüngst & Simon Nuesch: Lena Jüngst and Simon Nuesch are the co-founders of Air Up, a revolutionary scent-based drinking system. Lena has a background in product design and Simon studied technology, management and business administration. They both come from Germany. During her bachelor's, Lena and fellow student Tim Jäger stumbled upon the topic of retronasal smell (tasting with your nose) when they were looking for a topic for their bachelor's thesis. Their interest led them to connecting this topic with our modern diet, which is currently both a huge threat to our health and to the environment. Our early evolutionary history taught us that food which tastes nice is good for us, but today that is certainly no longer the case. So if you want the sensory benefits of drinking a fizzy drink without the health and environmental costs, what do you do? You trick your brain into thinking water tastes like a fizzy drink, of course. Air Up's first prototype was simply putting one straw inside a cup full of water and another straw inside a scent diffuser and slurping both simultaneously. This was the rudimentary beginning of the "pods'' for sale today, which can be conveniently attached to water bottles. Memorable Quotes: "Sustainability is THE product design question right now." "Entrepreneurship means feeling constantly overwhelmed and constantly fascinated by your work." Don't forget to give us a follow on our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin accounts, so you can always stay up to date with our latest initiatives. That way, there's no excuse for missing out on live shows, weekly give-aways or founders dinners!
In this episode, Tim J. continues his defense/explanation of the Word of Faith movement, and we also talk about what it means to be a new creation. There are some issues with the sound, so you may want to turn it up a bit; we're working to improve the quality.

The CGCM (Canadian Geeks Chatting Metal) Podcast/Website is proud to present our latest segment. Welcome to CGIM (Canadian Geeks Interviewing Metal). Our website contributing team, be them in Canada or around the world, are always attending gigs. Often they are hobnobbing with the musicians. So why not present them interviewing musicians? These audio interviews can heard through Soundcloud, iTunes and all other platforms. Enjoy this second in the series as website writer/photographer Rachel Leigh Vendetta is joined by Swedish Hard Rockers StunGun Sons for a chat ahead of their first show of 2020 at Harry B James in Stockholm. Also included here is Rachel's photo gallery from the gig! Hey everyone, this is Rachel Leigh Vendetta, the newest CGCM recruit! I moved to Stockholm, Sweden about a year and a half ago from Canada and the concerts have been non-stop since! Here you can find my photo gallery and interview with Swedish band StunGun Sons, who describe their sound as a “mix between Airbourne and AC/DC” as lead guitarist Mikael puts it. I got to chat with them before their first show of 2020, which was also their first show with lead singer Adam replacing former band member Johan on guitar. Despite admitting being a little nervous about these changes, the boys kicked ass and delivered some adrenaline-filled old school rock n roll. If you’re a fan of bands who deliver no-bullshit rock that’s all about having fun, look no further than these four guys. Consisting of Adam Inghamn (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Mikael Juntti (lead guitar), Fredde Burestad (bass) and Tim Jälminger (drums), these guys prove the spirit of rock n roll is alive and well in Stockholm. In this interview you’ll hear them speak about everything from how the band started, stories from the studio, how their new single “Bound In Stone” came to be, and future plans for music releases. You really could not meet a nicer and funnier group of guys, and I think we can expect big things to come from these Swedes! Be sure to check out their music below!

JOIN AFTER HOURS! Over 15 years ago, I sat in my doctor's office explaining my obsessive and compulsive thought patterns, my debilitating worry, and my latest (and thrilling) symptom of dry-heaving. She kindly explained to me that if I continued on the same trajectory, it was likely that I would be dead from a heart attack by age thirty, or at the very least, have extreme stomach ulcers. Bottom line: This anxiety disorder could take me out. This wasn't just a matter of being “a worry wort” or a “perfectionist” or all the other labels I had haphazardly thrown around to define my constant need to control and obsess on everything. This was a serious condition that was radically, and detrimentally, affecting the quality of my life. In this week's episode, I discuss what it really looks like to struggle with anxiety disorder, how to work through crippling panic attacks, and how to approach (or not) the journey of finding a medicinal solution. Struggling with anxiety doesn't mean you can't ever see an improvement in your reality. Have a listen and learn about everything you CAN do to get a handle on this obstacle in your life, because, honey, you are not a victim, you are a Survivor. This pod explores: The difference between situational anxiety and chronic anxiety and why that matters How to set yourself up for success with regards to your triggers, support structure, and medication (And, we may or may not have an in-depth discussion about good ol' Mary Jane) My perspective on medication and the best advice I ever received about this journey A handful of strategies to get you through the roughest of panic attacks THE JOY JUNKIE AFTER HOURS CLUB! Was It Worth It? is the new part-podcast, part-review show by Tim J. and Dane P. from SharcTank.com. In Was It Worth It?, we choose an affordable, independently developed computer game on Steam to purchase and play individually. We then meet back up to discuss our experience with the game and let the audience know if the game was truly worth Steam’s asking price. Keep in mind that this verdict will be entirely based on our own opinions. Sometimes we’ll agree with each other, and sometimes we’ll have very different experiences and viewpoints!
