Our show opens with great news, the confirmation of Tulsi Gabbard as our new Director of National Intelligence. We then spend time throwing Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) under the bus for his utter lack of loyalty back to her for all she once did for him. President Trump announced a positive phone call with Russian President Putin. They are going to move rapidly toward a resolution with Ukraine and with President Zelenskyy. The CPI was expected to rise .3% today, but inflation is up .5% month-to-month. As predicted, the Left, led by Sen. Chuck “You” Schumer (D-NY) tried to put the blame on Donald Trump. Keep in mind, Trump was barely in office for 10 days out of the month of January. The real reason is the last minute spending spree from the Biden regime. Michael Shellenberger with Public continues their reporting into USAID and how they paid to plant fake evidence for the first Trump impeachment. Well, it looks like they were also behind the Trump-Russia collusion hoax. And, on the subject of corruption, law-breaking and collusion, new emails from NARA show the Mar-a-Lago raid was started out of Joe Biden's White House. I'm not sure what new intel might have motivated it, but President Trump said he was fed up with the hostages not being released all at once and said he wants them all turned over by noon on Saturday. Israel, who would be responsible for any attack, agreed with Trump. Independent Australian reporter, Erin Molan, weighed-in on this and wonders why it took this long for someone to show real strength? The Left continues to try to get us to believe that Elon Musk is in charge and Trump is upset by that. It's laughable to see the lengths to which our state-run propagandists are willing to go to lie to us. And they have added a new tactic – they now say, just because Musk is saying he found fraud, doesn't mean he really found anything. Even the Biden GAO said there is upwards of $500+ billion a year in fraud in our government. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) also made an ironic observation about those who don't want the government audited, but were fine hiring 80,000 IRS agents with guns to come audit us. National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett believes Musk's team is doing an amazing job. But, a Tossin' with Toobin segment shows CNN is going to run with the “we don't believe them” narrative. Onto corrupt Federal judges. CNN's Scott Jennings rips his panel apart with truth and logic. The judges are so biased and flawed and they don't even bother hiding it. AG Pam Bondi says they are going to fight back against the lawfare. Finally, Sec of Defense Pete Hegseth has made it clear, Ukraine will not be rolled into NATO and no US troops will be deployed. Hostage Marc Fogel has been released from Russia thanks to Donald Trump. And, fresh off of the release of all the 60 Minutes footage of the Kamala Harris interview, Trump has upped his suit against CBS to $20 billion! On today's show, we open as we usually do, with Tara Bull's Top 10 News Stories the Legacy/mainstream media likely didn't tell you this week. It's a great way to pickup on several news items all at once before diving into the rest of the content. The breaking story today, continuing to affirm my belief that our government is wholly operating as a Marxist Authoritarian regime, is the release of the changes Biden wants to make to Title IX. For those those may not know, Title IX was enacted to make sure women had equal access to sports and sporting activities on college campuses. Today, in an effort to force Transgenerism and Wokism down our throats, they have changed the language to erase women and favor those with significant mental health issues. Yesterday, Israel decided it was time return the favor and dropped several ordinance packages on Iran. What's sad is how the timeline played out in the hours beforehand. Did you know that our government, the pro-Hamas/ceasefire now folks, begged Israel not to do it. In fact, they said if Israel didn't attack Iran, they would look the other way and let them take care of Hamas in Rafah. In other words, this Administration was more worried about protecting Iran over Palestinians. What does that tell you about the non-elected people behind the scene and their motivations? Next we look at some of the jurors and the juror selection for the Donald Trump case in NYC. After listening, do you really see any jurors open to fairness? Even one, who was initially added to the panel, decided, after sleeping on it, that she really couldn't be unbiased. On top of that, I remind you of all the facts that led up to this case and how bad it really is. The fact that it's even happening feels like we are already in some dystopian world where the rule of law has long since been forgotten. Finally, and perhaps a bit of light-blue levity, we get another segment of Tossin' with Toobin. Disgraced former CNN voice dared to say it was a disgrace for Justice Clarence Thomas to be listening to the case about the one charge DOJ is putting on J6 defendants to intentionally increase their jail time. Leave it to Megyn Kelly to remind Toobin who waived his right to weigh-in on acts of disgrace after his Zoom call incident with other female reporters watching. On April 19, 1995—29 years ago tomorrow—at 9:02 a.m., a fertilizer truck bomb exploded outside of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, an act of domestic terrorism perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. Fueled by anti-government sentiment—and specifically angered by the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, Ruby Ridge in 1992, and the Waco siege exactly two years to the day earlier in 1993—the blast killed 168 and injured 680. Prior to September 11, 2001, the bombing was the deadliest act of terrorism in U.S. history and remains to this day the deadliest act of domestic terrorism our country has ever seen. The bomb destroyed more than one-third of the building—which ultimately had to be demolished—and damaged 324 other buildings, causing an estimated $652 million in damages. Forensic evidence quickly linked McVeigh and Nichols to the bombing, and within days, both were charged. On that April 19, McVeigh detonated a Ryder truck in front of the building; Nichols had assisted with the bomb's preparation. McVeigh and Nichols had met in 1988 during basic training for the Army and were both tried and convicted in 1997; McVeigh was executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001, and Nichols is currently serving life in prison. The victims of the bombing ranged in age from three months old to 73 years old and included three pregnant women; 19 of the victims were babies and children, many of whom were in the building's day care center. Today on the show we honor the victims of this senseless attack by talking to Jeffrey Toobin, author of the definitive book on the bombing, 2023's Homegrown: Timothy McVeigh and the Rise of Right-Wing Extremism, and the host of the excellent and brand-new podcast Homegrown: OKC. Despite this, a large number of US executives believe the country is now in a recession. Stifel Financial conducted a survey that shows 18 percent of business owners, executives, and investors consider the US economy already in a recession, compared to 79 percent that expect a downturn within the next 18 months. The standard definition of the word is a decline in GDP for two consecutive quarters, while the new, Biden definition links the word to unemployment numbers. Only three percent believe the US could conceivably avoid a recession within the next 18 months, according to the Daily Mail. According to the survey, businesses believe labor shortages, inflation, supply chain disruptions, and a recession are the biggest threats to profitability. 53 percent of executives expect inflation risk to remain a challenge to their assets and interests for the next two quarters to a year. 43 percent expect an economic decline to last for longer than that. According to the Labor Department, the US consumer price index was up 8.5 percent in July from a year ago. Though that was lower than the 9.1 percent increase in June, it was still above the Federal Reserve's two percent target rate. Inflation is the highest it has been in 40 years. The cost of goods has spiked hitting low-income and middle-class families the hardest. Food prices have continued to increase, with the cost of groceries increasing 13.1 percent in July from the previous year. The Biden administration continues to deny that the country is in a recession, despite the negative economic growth for a second consecutive quarter. President Joe Biden and members of the administration argue that metrics like record job growth and steady levels of consumer spending show the country is not in a recession. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has also said that he "doesn’t think the US is currently in a recession." In September, the Federal Reserve is expected to announce if they are raising interest rates again for a third consecutive hike to help curb inflation. Raising the interest rates has had other side effects. According to the National Association of Realtors, buying a home in the US is the least affordable it has been in 33 years as mortgages spike and home prices hit record highs. Democratic Governor Kate Brown is term-limited and according to the rating is "deeply unpopular, and there may be some desire for change in the Beaver State." According to the Center, "the state is hosting an unusual 3-way race among a trio of women who are all recent members of the state legislature: former state House Speaker Tina Kotek (D), former state House Minority Leader Christine Drazan (R), and former state Sen. Betsy Johnson, an unaffiliated, former Democrat who is more conservative than most of the members of her former party and who has been backed by Nike co-founder Phil Knight." "The race sets up an unusual situation where the winner may not need to crack even 40%," noted the Center. "Additionally, the 3 candidates all served concurrently in the state legislature, which should provide the campaigns ample opportunities to draw contrasts among the candidates." The rating added, "Johnson, the independent, would still be the most surprising winner, and Kotek and Drazan both will be working to try to prevent their voters from flocking to her banner. There’s just enough uncertainty here that we’re looking at the race as a Toss-up now." The host of "Reliable Sources" was given the ax amid CNN's front office shake-up and reorganization of the news outlet's coverage, which has been pilloried as pro-Democratic Party propaganda. The new management at CNN wants to return to the days when CNN was more straight news, less drama, and not the subject of attacks over media bias for peddling explicit Democratic National Committee talking points. Longtime legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin also announced he was leaving, opting to retire and write a book. Toobin had emerged from the wilderness after The New Yorker fired him in 2020 following a humiliating incident where he exposed himself to the magazine's staff during a Zoom call. When Stelter was given the boot, people asked if Don Lemon, another insufferable fixture at the network, would be next. That could be in the cards, as a source is spilling the names of who's next on the butcher's bill. Yes, Don Lemon is on there: If Trump runs again, the network will need Lemon, Acosta, and others to kick the hornet's nest again. Despite this, a large number of US executives believe the country is now in a recession. Stifel Financial conducted a survey that shows 18 percent of business owners, executives, and investors consider the US economy already in a recession, compared to 79 percent that expect a downturn within the next 18 months. The standard definition of the word is a decline in GDP for two consecutive quarters, while the new, Biden definition links the word to unemployment numbers. Only three percent believe the US could conceivably avoid a recession within the next 18 months, according to the Daily Mail. According to the survey, businesses believe labor shortages, inflation, supply chain disruptions, and a recession are the biggest threats to profitability. 53 percent of executives expect inflation risk to remain a challenge to their assets and interests for the next two quarters to a year. 43 percent expect an economic decline to last for longer than that. According to the Labor Department, the US consumer price index was up 8.5 percent in July from a year ago. Though that was lower than the 9.1 percent increase in June, it was still above the Federal Reserve's two percent target rate. Inflation is the highest it has been in 40 years. The cost of goods has spiked hitting low-income and middle-class families the hardest. Food prices have continued to increase, with the cost of groceries increasing 13.1 percent in July from the previous year. The Biden administration continues to deny that the country is in a recession, despite the negative economic growth for a second consecutive quarter. President Joe Biden and members of the administration argue that metrics like record job growth and steady levels of consumer spending show the country is not in a recession. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has also said that he "doesn’t think the US is currently in a recession." In September, the Federal Reserve is expected to announce if they are raising interest rates again for a third consecutive hike to help curb inflation. Raising the interest rates has had other side effects. According to the National Association of Realtors, buying a home in the US is the least affordable it has been in 33 years as mortgages spike and home prices hit record highs.
