I take a lot of time explaining to my patients and their loved ones what the pathophysiology of their defect is. A lot of women present to me are quite scared of not only what is happening to their body, but also of consequences and treatment. I try to alleviate that fear through education. While surgery is an option for many women, it can be done in a minimally invasive way and oftentimes it is not a necessity. Often, I can offer more conservative treatment options to relieve symptoms.”www.allurepelvicwellness.comFacebookInstagramTikTokYouTube*******************I recommend checking out my comprehensive pelvic health education and fitness programs on my Buff Muff AppYou can also join my next 28 Day Buff Muff Challenge https://www.vaginacoach.com/buffmuffIf you are feeling social you can connect with me… On Facebook https://www.facebook.com/VagCoachOn Instagram https://www.instagram.com/vaginacoach/On Twitter https://twitter.com/VaginaCoachOn The Web www.vaginacoach.com

Randi Haseman gives updates on the Clinical Leadership industry.
A successful white-collar professional by day working as a project manager for a large University Health System, Robert is an openly gay man living in Buffalo, NY. Robert's first diagnosis, chronic clinical depression, came when he was 16, even though he had been battling depression since the age of nine when he had his first episode of self-harm ideology. As he was coming out, his depression morphed into bipolar depression disorder, which went untreated and undiagnosed until he was 44. The untreated mania manifested as an anonymous sex addiction that lasted over 20 years, enduring through the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Only after finally addressing his sex addiction with his therapist did his bipolar disorder come to light, and his treatment with pharmacology help him end his addiction. With the help of ongoing therapy and careful medication management, Robert has evolved to lead a relatively quiet life in his forties, where he enjoys boating, gardening, and volunteering in the community with various organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association. He also has a cat named Bacchus and a French bulldog named Lily. Through his many years of therapy, he learned to forgive others and accept his family and friends for who they are. Now he has turned the focus inward, forgiving himself for the reckless decisions through all those years and finally accepting himself as he is: a successful, healthy, gay man living with bipolar depression. #drdanamzallag, #drdanpodcast, #Happinessjourneywithdrdan, #ddanmotivation, #inspiringinterviews, #drdancbt, #drdantherapy, #drdancoaching, #drdanhappiness, #robertgraves, #mentalhealthadvocate, --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/happinessjourney/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/happinessjourney/support

Discover the unique Temple Katz SOM program [Show Summary] The Temple Katz School of Medicine distinguishes itself with two campuses, a Narrative Medicine Program, and deep ties to the local community. In this interview, Jacob Ufberg, Associate Dean of Admissions, shares everything applicants need to know to get accepted to Temple Katz. Interview with Temple Katz School of Medicine Admissions Dean, Dr. Jacob W. Ufberg [Show Notes] Welcome to the 476th episode of Admissions Straight Talk. Thanks for tuning in. The medical school application process is complex. Think of it like a structure that you're building with many elements and floors. Like any building, it requires a strong foundation. Accepted's free four-part video course, which takes less than half an hour to complete, lays out the foundation of an outstanding medical school application. Watch it today at medschoolessentials.com. Our special guest today is Dr. Jacob Ufberg, Associate Dean for Admissions at Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine and Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. He completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Pennsylvania, then he earned his MD at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and did his residency in Emergency Medicine at The Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He returned to Temple University's Katz School of Medicine after completing his residency and has since become Associate Dean of Admissions, Interim Assistant Dean of Career Advising, a Professor of Emergency Medicine, and an Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director. I'd say he's a little bit busy. Can you give us an overview of Temple Katz's approach to medical education, focusing on its more distinctive aspects? [1:58] At Temple, we teach our clinical medicine and basic science interwoven together with our clinical faculty and basic science faculty integrated together into our pre-clerkship curriculum over the first year and three quarters. That can provide some clinical perspective for the basic science that the students are learning. We do a good deal of small group and case-based learning, and we have a strong focus on integrating the learning of safety, quality, social and structural determinants of health, disparities in health, and medical ethics. We have a wonderful simulation center here. We use simulation and standardized patients quite a bit in the pre-clerkship years for clinical correlation. We have a curriculum that allows for a lot of early and frequent clinical experience. We have two campuses, one here in North Philadelphia and one in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at the St. Luke's University Health System. They both provide really wonderful clinical learning opportunities for the students. One of the great things is that the students have an opportunity to cross over from one campus to the other for some of their clinical learning opportunities over the years. Is there a different focus between the two different campuses? [3:37] I wouldn't say that there's a different focus. We are very well-aligned in how we teach, what we teach, and the experiences that the students have. There is a size difference. The campus here in North Philadelphia has 180 students per year and there are 40 students per year at the St. Luke's campus. Each offers unique benefits. The students up here love the urban setting. The students down on the St. Luke's campus love living at a slightly more relaxed space. They have a smaller learning group that provides the opportunity to really mesh together, grow together over the years. Can you describe the Narrative Medicine Program? Is that for all students or is it an elective? [5:36] Any student has an opportunity to participate in the Narrative Medicine Program. Narrative medicine is kind of a newer thing, and it really lives at the intersection of science and medicine and the humanities. It's about storytelling. It's listening to patients and their families,

See http://www.leanblog.org/260 My guest for Episode #260 of the podcast is Brad White, author of the recently-released book Lean Daily Management for Healthcare: A Strategic Guide to Implementing Lean for Hospital Leaders. He is currently a Senior Process Improvement Advisor at Grady Health System in Atlanta, but I first met Brad a few years back when we were both in San Antonio and he was working for a health system there. In San Antonio, Brad helped spread these "Lean Daily Management" practices at the Baptist system and University Health System. I was able to come visit and see how this process was engaging leaders and staff at UHS (see photos below). You can learn more about Brad's book at his website, which includes a two-page PDF on how these methods can improve patient flow. http://leandailymanagement.com/
Transitioning from volume to value is a difficult but necessary change. Each hospital has different challenges, cultures, etc., so there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Even so, we can still learn from each other’s experiences. Value University is a program that’s engaging 10 teams from health care organizations across the United States, hosted by The University of Utah and sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. These teams each launch an improvement project at their institution and then share their best practices, success and failures so everyone learns. Paula Spencer, program manager of RAM Care at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, talks about how they’re responding to health care transformation, share what they’ve learned, and offer their advice for other institutions making the value transition.
