Today's episode will help you understand the importance of increasing your awareness of your limiting beliefs in midlife. When you're in midlife, your decades of experience and life make it easy to believe what you think; sometimes that means your automatic thinking. When you make a specific effort to look for thoughts about what you may think you're too old to do, what you find out can be revealing. You may believe limiting beliefs about what you can really do, think, feel, and try on purpose. This will make it harder for you to fulfill your dreams. We all know that change is a constant in life - especially in our career and work -but it's not always easy to embrace it.In this Rocking Midlife® Podcast episode, I'm joined by an amazing lady - Dr Carol Parker Walsh - for a conversation around the topic of how to survive and thrive in midlife by embracing the changes that come our way.Dr Carol is a catalyst for transformational growth, confidence, and career/life alignment. Today I talk to Ashton Applewhite, the author of “This Chair Rocks, a Manifesto Against Ageism” and a leading spokesperson raising awareness on ageism and how to dismantle it. She is a leader for Old School, a clearinghouse website for anti-ageism resources, and the voice behind the blog, Yo, Is This Ageist? You may have heard her Ted Talk or seen her on CBS Sunday Morning. Today she answers the questions; what is ageism, why does ageism exist, what does ageism do to our mental health as we get older, and why addressing ageism will make you feel more comfortable about aging. Ashton breaks down this “ism” so well that by the end you will feel nothing but empowered by your age. LINK FOR ASHTON:https://thischairrocks.com/LINK TO WORK WITH MOLLY:www.mollysider.com

Are you over 50 and think that it is too late to start your own business? Think again! This week's guest on the Rocking Midlife® Podcast is the wonderful Colleen Kochannek who not only shares her personal story of creating a business over the age of 50, but who has encouraging insights for other women who might be thinking they are too old to consider becoming an entrepreneur. After a successful corporate career, Colleen found herself made redundant, and thought she would launch her own business. She figured this would be a breeze given her past career – and boy was she wrong! She had to teach herself all of the tech that younger people have grown up with, and it was during this process she realised that nobody was teaching this information in a way that a beginner 50+ year old woman could understand. Hence, she decided she would help other women who were facing this same steep learning curve, and her business Scrappy Frontier – helping women from the Typewriter GenerationTMwas born. My interview with Colleen covers a lot of ground, including: •Why a business after 50 makes sense.•How it's easy to be overwhelmed by “gurus” •Why you need to be comfortable being a beginner•Why you need to be open to learning about tech•Why your mindset matters! If you've even vaguely considered starting your own business, this is the episode for you, so be sure to leave a comment and share it with your midlife friends! You can find out more about Colleen and access her resources HERE: www. scrappyfrontier.comBe sure to grab Colleen's FREE guide, 10 Newbie Mistakes (to avoid) for women over 50 stating their first online business.
Il vaccino Astrazeneca rimane consigliato agli over 60 e ci sarà uno stop degli open day. Si pone il tema - come ha fatto osservare la regione Piemonte - di come utilizzare le dosi del vaccino in esubero. You may be familiar with the saying, “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.” And putting aside for the moment the horrors of human-sponsored dog fighting, there’s some truth to this adage. There’s something to be said for attitude, for determination and an never give up mindset. You undoubtedly know people like this in your own life, or maybe this describes you. These are people who set audacious goals, who are willing to do what ever it takes, against all the odds, to achieve these goals. These are these hard workers, the go getters. My guest this week on the Over 50 Health and Wellness podcast is Franklin Ausler Sr. Franklin is a 63 year old professional bodybuilding, who’s been working out almost his entire life. As a child his was very athletic, but was tall, skinny, and very introverted. But his life was about to change – he was going to be introduced to the sport of bodybuilding – and even though he didn’t have any weight training experience or the build to be a bodybuilder, the hook was set and the arc of his life was forever changed.
One of the by-products of hosting the Rocking Midlife® Podcast, is that not only do I get to meet some really amazing and inspirational people - I get to make new friends with each interview!Of course, this can be frustrating when I can't pop down the road and have a catch up with my new friend after the interview - but I live in hope that when borders open, a number of my interviewees will head downunder for a visit and I'll get to play tour guide when they do. Today's guest is one of those women who you feel like you've known for ages. We connected when Sheree reached out to invite me to be one of the participants of an upcoming Midlife interview series that she will be holding, and I knew that I needed to find out more about this amazing lady.Sheree is a midlife courage coach and in her words: "I believe it takes guts to live the second half of your life for yourself. I help women to identify and reach goals they may have set aside, as well as any new aspirations they may have." She and I have so many shared views about midlife being a time of potential and opportunity for women to dust off their old dreams or dare to dream new ones. When asked what 3 things she would like listeners to take away, these were Sheree's answers: 1)It's not too late to reinvent yourself.2)You don't have to follow a conventional path.3)It's easier to make changes when you have support - which is why coaches like Sheree, masterminds and communities like Rocking Midlife® and the Midlife Entrepreneur Success Community for Women are so important! Listen in, subscribe and share so that your friends can also be encouraged that it is not too late to change your life, whether you are over 40, over 50 or over 60.You can find Sheree here: www.fork-road.com and she has a fabulous FREE gift of a Journal Scrapbook that you can get HERE: https://fork-road.com/journal-scrapbook/ As always, the Rocking Midlife® Podcast is real and unscripted, bringing you authentic conversations around topics that are related to the midlife journey. Barrie Street. "I am 84 and feel 48. I’m blessed to have a passion for fitness, which I would love to spread in my blog Over70andfit.com. I would also be delighted to reach folks who are less than 70. The message I am trying to impart is that ANYONE of ANY AGE can be fit and it is NEVER too late to start. I believe - indeed I know - that fitness can be inextricably woven into our fabric."Teaching has been one of my major passions, mainly involved at the secondary school level.I am entering my 57th year of teaching Math with the same passion as when I began. Spending so much time with young people – whether teaching or coaching them soccer, field hockey, tennis, cross-country running, cricket or ping pong – has kept me young in mind. Young people will always remain the back-bone of society and to help them grow and mature has always been a privilege.Travelling has occupied a great deal of my leisure time, having visited some 50 countries – many of which we erroneously call Third World nations – sharing their cultures and learning to appreciate their diverse lifestyles. Also learning to acknowledge how gracious and happy they are, despite often living in destitute conditions and being without the basic essentials of life. I have learned far more from them about the true values of life than I have from our own materialistic society. I have often encouraged my students to travel and acquire a better understanding of life.Volunteering has probably brought me the most satisfaction. I have been able to teach teachers in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and Jamaica and also teach children in Guatemala and Costa Rica. I have come away from all these experiences more enriched. Helping to build a village for abandoned children in Costa Rica 40 years ago – one of the boys I found living in a cardboard box on the street still keeps in touch with me – reminded me of my own childhood. My parents abandoned me when I was 6 and this experience gave me a compassion and understanding which otherwise I would never have acquired. Another exciting project was collecting a mountain of soccer equipment here in Vancouver – all of which would have been consigned to the garbage dump – and delivering it to a black South African township. This was gold to the kids.Sports and exercise have brought me colossal fitness and health. I played team sports from the age of 10 to my mid-forties and then I began running, culminating in a marathon within a year. I was hooked. At 50, I graduated to triathlons and competed in my first Ironman, also within a year. From then on, I have been running, playing tennis and climbing our local iconic mountain – the Grouse Grind – which I have completed more than 2000 times.Barrie Street's blog can be found at www.Over70andFit.com

Adrenal fatigue is a term applied to a collection of nonspecific symptoms, such as body aches, fatigue, nervousness, sleep disturbances and digestive problems. The term often shows up in popular health books and on alternative medicine websites, but it isn't an accepted medical diagnosis.Your adrenal glands produce a variety of hormones that are essential to life. This week I look at running as you get older, tips and advice plus reveal my star parkrunner of the week, my featured parkrun, upcoming parkrun anniversaries and I'll let you know how we got on in our parkruns this week.
I did a podcast on Senior Migration in a previous episode, where I shared my research on how to find the best locations to spend retirement. The episode was only 30 minutes but the research took about a year!Well, we have zeroed in on the exact area where we will move - so the adventure begins! Since there are many seniors who are planning moves to warmer climes, to a lower cost of living or to live closer to grand kids, I decided to share our process. Moving is comprised of many parts: Realtors, new home search, selling your home and the physical relocation. You may be assured that on this topic, the shear number of moves that I have under my belt more than qualifies me as a good resource on this topic! If a move is imminent or just something that you are contemplating - this 30 minute podcast may be a worthwhile listen.
In this episode I chat with Chad Howse who is the author of the Book Man Diet, and Lost Art of Discipline and who is on a mission to help men become Alpha in this soft society that we live in.Man Diet - https://www.themandietbook.com/the-man-diet-bookdu06itf4?affiliate_id=1453844Lost Art Of Discipline - http://www.thelostartofdiscipline.com/discipline?affiliate_id=1453844Chad's the author of the Man Diet and The Lost Art of Discipline, and the founder of Average2Alpha.com. Through his books and courses he helps guys create optimal testosterone levels, and live better, stronger, more successful lives. You, like I, are on a mission to create something indelible. We're not here for mediocrity. We're not trying to blend in; to be amongst the crowd. We aren't concerned with being average, with creating average lives, taking the easy path, or building average bodies.Manliness has taken a sharp turn within the last few decades. Before this turn it was what it is supposed to be, true to its nature, innate, earned, won through persisting with honor. Is this turn the result of a society so corrupted by ease that it forgets what brought about such prosperity and innovation?Manliness has always been clear. We knew what a man was. We knew it wasn't something won by birth but earned. It has been earned by the man who claims responsibility, both for himself and his tribe, and carries their load successfully with honor.Honor, today, is far more rare than it's ever been because the values and virtues we once prized and depended on are now being swept away by a tidal wave of the weak, the ignorant, and the vain.In this episode you will learn the hard-won virtues of manliness that bore great and free nations across the world. For as long as I’ve known her, Mel Brady has been a stylist. However in the last couple of years, she has made the transition to model. And while this doesn’t sound too unusual in this, the era of ‘the slashie’, what is unique about this situation is that Mel is her mid-fifties… which has then meant she has added another slash to her career catchphrase: activist. Because, I found out, being a women in your fifties who decides not to fade into sexless oblivion IS is act of social rebellion - particularly, it would seem, in the eyes of the media. And thus the Embrace Age movement was born, in which Mel has rallied women from around the world to share their ideas of just how they choose to see themselves through the media. I wanted to talk to Mel about the growing popularity of this grey-roots movement - and the career in styling and image-making that got her to this place of proudly authoring her own content. This is a great episode for anyone who is looking to use their skills to forge not only a career - but a path towards the change they want to see in the world.
