Welcome back to Authentically ADHD, where we explore the realities of living with ADHD—the science, struggles, and strengths. Host Carmen Irace delves into the debate of Consistency vs. Persistence, examining why one is more suited to ADHD brains than the other. This episode challenges conventional productivity wisdom and offers practical insights for sustainable success. The Expectation of Consistency: Consistency is often touted as key to success, yet for ADHD individuals, it can feel unattainable. Scientific insights reveal how ADHD brains navigate motivation and effort differently, highlighting the disconnect between traditional expectations and neurological reality.Redefining Success Through Persistence: Shifting focus to persistence, Irace explains why this approach aligns better with ADHD traits. Persistence allows for flexibility, embracing the natural ebb and flow of motivation without the guilt of perceived failures. Scientific studies underscore the effectiveness of this mindset in achieving long-term goals.Real-Life Examples of Persistence Over Consistency: Irace provides practical examples—from exercise routines to work productivity and relationships—illustrating how embracing persistence leads to sustained progress. Each scenario emphasizes adapting habits to individual rhythms rather than adhering to rigid schedules. How to Build Persistence (Without Pressure): The episode concludes with six science-backed strategies to cultivate persistence in daily life. These include leveraging micro-wins, using external structures like alarms and accountability partners, and fostering self-compassion to navigate setbacks effectively.Closing Thoughts: Consistency may be overrated, but persistence is ADHD-friendly and sustainable. Irace encourages listeners to embrace this mindset, emphasizing that success lies in resilience rather than unattainable perfection. This episode resonates with anyone who has struggled with maintaining routines or habits, offering a refreshing perspective that celebrates the unique strengths of ADHD. Welcome back to Authentically ADHD, the podcast where we dive deep into the realities of living with ADHD—the science, the struggles, and the strengths. I'm your host, Carmen Irace, and today, we're tackling a topic that I know so many of us wrestle with: Consistency vs. Persistence—and why one of these works way better for ADHD brains than the other.I want you to take a second and think about these two words. Consistency. Persistence. Which one makes you feel empowered? And which one makes you feel exhausted just thinking about it?For most of us with ADHD, "consistency" feels like this impossible standard that we just can't live up to. We're told that success comes from doing the same thing, the same way, over and over—but our brains just don't work that way. And that's okay.Today, we're breaking it all down. We'll explore:* The perception of these words and why consistency feels unattainable for ADHDers* The science behind why our brains struggle with consistency but thrive with persistence* Why persistence is actually the ADHD-friendly approach to long-term success* And some practical strategies to help you build persistence without pressureSo, if you've ever felt frustrated that you "can't stay consistent" with habits, work, or goals—this episode is for you. Let's jump in.THE EXPECTATION OF CONSISTENCYLet's start with consistency. This word is thrown around all the time in productivity culture:* “The key to success is consistency.”* “If you're not consistent, you're not disciplined.”* “Success comes from showing up every single day.”And if you have ADHD, hearing that feels like being asked to run a marathon with no training, no shoes, and no idea where the finish line is. Because consistency is built on predictability—and ADHD is the opposite of predictable.

As the year winds down, it's a tough time for content creators. Many are quitting, but in this episode, we'll tackle why that's happening and how to fix it. From refining your niche to staying consistent and avoiding content burnout, this episode is packed with actionable strategies to help you keep going strong. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode173 Key Takeaways: Get Clear on Your Niche Lack of focus is a top reason creators quit. Having a clear niche simplifies content creation and attracts the right audience. Use the free resource, Pinpoint Your Passion, to narrow down your interests, identify your strengths, and find your field of favor. [Link in show notes.] Example: Kelly Radcliff niched down to zinnias and saw massive growth, building an Instagram following of 250,000+. Commit to Consistency Consistency builds trust and interest, two keys to audience growth. Define what consistency looks like for you—weekly blog posts, daily social media updates, or monthly newsletters. Apply consistency to your marketing strategy. Use three to five SEO keywords repeatedly across your content and branding to drive traffic and build familiarity. Avoid Content Fade Content fade, or burnout from constant content creation, is a major obstacle for creators. Focus on creating impactful content that resonates with your audience, not just churning out posts to "throw spaghetti at the wall." Don't get lost “in the weeds” of endless editing and overthinking. Aim for "good enough" content and prioritize getting it out there. Pro Tip: Perfect is the enemy of progress. Set limits on editing time and prioritize consistency over perfection. Welcome, listeners, to another episode of Content Chronicles, the podcast where we dive deep into the world of content marketing strategies that drive real results. I'm your host, Adrian Lawrence, and today we're exploring a topic that's vital for businesses in the recruitment industry: How to Promote Recruitment Agencies via Content Marketing. Whether you're a recruitment agency just starting out or an established player looking to boost your visibility and attract top clients and candidates, this episode is for you. We'll cover why content marketing is a game-changer, how to create a strategy that works, and actionable tips you can start implementing today. So, let's dive in! Let's start with the basics—why should recruitment agencies care about Content Marketing? The recruitment industry is incredibly competitive. Agencies are vying for the attention of both companies looking to hire and talented individuals searching for their next career move. Traditional marketing tactics like cold calling and paid ads are no longer enough. Today, companies and candidates alike are looking for partners who demonstrate expertise, trustworthiness, and a deep understanding of the industry. This is where content marketing comes in. Content marketing helps recruitment agencies: Build Authority: By consistently publishing valuable content, you position yourself as an industry leader, attracting clients who trust your expertise. Boost Visibility: High-quality content improves SEO, making it easier for potential clients and candidates to find you online. Engage and Educate: Content is a powerful way to engage your audience, answering their questions and solving their problems before they even reach out. Nurture Relationships: Through ongoing content, you can stay top of mind with both clients and candidates, nurturing those relationships until they're ready to take action. So, content marketing isn't just a nice-to-have—it's a necessity for any recruitment agency looking to grow in today's digital age. Host: Now that we understand the importance of content marketing, let's talk about how to build a strategy that works specifically for recruitment agencies. Define Your Audience: Who are you trying to reach? Is it HR managers, CEOs, or job seekers? The first step in any content marketing strategy is to clearly define your target audience. Consider creating detailed personas for each segment—what are their pain points, needs, and goals? Set Clear Objectives: What do you want to achieve with your content? Whether it's generating leads, improving brand awareness, or building an engaged community, having clear objectives will guide your strategy. For recruitment agencies, this might include attracting new clients, increasing job placements, or becoming a thought leader in a specific industry. Content Types and Channels: Decide on the types of content that will best serve your audience and objectives. This might include blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, video content, podcasts (like this one!), or webinars. Also, choose the right channels to distribute your content. LinkedIn is a no-brainer for B2B marketing, but don't overlook other platforms like Twitter, YouTube, or even Instagram, depending on where your audience spends their time. Content Calendar and Consistency: Consistency is key in content marketing. Create a content calendar to plan out your topics and publishing schedule. This helps keep you organized and ensures you're consistently delivering value to your audience. Leverage SEO and Keywords: For recruitment agencies, SEO is crucial. Use keyword research to find out what your audience is searching for. Optimizing your content for these keywords will help you rank higher in search results and drive more organic traffic. Resistance Training to improve Peptide Performance

The Peptide Podcast

Did you know that you don't need a gym to enjoy the benefits of resistance training? You can do it right in the comfort of your home with no gym equipment, and it's fantastic for your overall health and heart health. Regular resistance training can improve your blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, and body composition. It's especially helpful for older adults and those with a higher risk of heart problems (e.g., high blood pressure or cholesterol, diabetes, excess weight, current or former smokers, or a family history of heart disease). In this podcast, we'll discuss simple home workouts that you can do to help your overall health. What is resistance training? Resistance training, also known as strength training, involves exercises that improve muscular strength and endurance. This form of exercise typically uses resistance in the form of weights, resistance bands, or body weight to work specific muscle groups. By repeatedly challenging muscles, resistance training enhances their ability to generate force and sustain physical activity. Benefits of Resistance Training Cardiovascular and Overall Health While resistance training primarily targets muscle strength and endurance, it also offers substantial cardiovascular benefits. Regular resistance training can: Improve heart health by reducing blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Help keep your arteries flexible and improves blood vessel function while lowering inflammation levels that typically lead to atherosclerosis (clogged arteries). Keep in mind that while you may not notice these cardiovascular effects, you may experience noticeable improvements in your sleep and mood.  Weight Loss and Muscle Mass Resistance training is a powerful tool for weight loss and muscle mass maintenance. But how? Increased Metabolism: Building muscle boosts your resting metabolic rate, meaning you burn more calories even at rest. Fat Loss: While you may not see immediate weight loss, resistance training can help you lose fat and gain lean muscle, leading to a healthier body composition.  Muscle Preservation: During weight loss, preserving muscle mass is crucial. When people lose weight, they usually lose fat along with muscle mass. Given the popularity of GLP-1 agonists like semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Zepbound), it's important to know that muscle wasting is a possible side effect of these medications. Resistance training ensures that most of the weight lost comes from fat, not muscle. Keep in mind: Resistance training also promotes better body mechanics and posture, reducing the risk of injury and improving balance and coordination. How to Get Started with Resistance Training Getting started with resistance training can be intimidating, especially if you already don't exercise or have mobility limitations due to arthritis, neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis, or obesity.  You can always join a gym and meet with a personal trainer but we all know this is both costly and time-consuming. While in-person classes or training sessions might be motivating and fun, there is always the option of trying resistance training at home, on your own. You can find free exercise videos on YouTube or personal fitness blogs.  Set Clear Goals: Determine what you want to achieve, whether it's building muscle, losing or maintaining weight, or improving overall health. Start with a Plan: Create a balanced workout plan that includes all major muscle groups (e.g., chest, shoulders, upper back, back and front of arms and legs, stomach, and lower back). Learn Proper Technique: Proper form is important to prevent injuries. Consider working with a trainer initially or using reputable online resources.  Start Light: To master the exercises, begin with lighter weights, then gradually increase the resistance as you become more comfortable and stronger. Start with shorter, lower-intensity sessions to help your body readjust and minimize the risk of injury. Consistency: Consistency is key. Aim for at least two resistance training sessions per week. Each session should last 15 to 20 minutes and focus on 8 to 10 different exercises.  Examples of Resistance Training Exercises Here are some common resistance training exercises: Air squats, wall squats, and lunges: Target the legs and glutes. Specifically the front and back thigh and buttocks. No equipment is needed.  Deadlifts or upright rows engage the upper back muscles. Both can be done using long resistance bands instead of weights. Chest Press: This exercise works the chest, shoulders, and triceps. It can also be done without weights by doing push-ups, incline push-ups, or decline push-ups. Planks or abdominal crunch: Improve core strength and stability. No equipment is needed. Bicep Curls: Target the front upper arm. Again, if you don't have weights at home, you can perform bicep curls using resistance bands. Calf raises: These target the calf muscle, and no gym equipment is needed. They can be done using stairs or a chair. Remember to adjust the intensity and frequency of workouts based on your progress and fitness goals to ensure a safe and effective resistance training regimen. Lee explores the concept of putting your body where your priorities are. He challenges the common practice of leaders simply sending emails or making phone calls about their priorities, and instead encourages leaders to physically show up and contribute to the work that aligns with their number one priority. By being present both physically and mentally, leaders can demonstrate their support and care for their teams, ultimately creating a more engaged workforce.  KEY TAKEAWAYS Putting your body where your priorities are: Lee emphasises the importance of physically showing up and being present in the places where your priorities lie. This means going beyond sending emails or making phone calls and actively engaging with the work and the people involved. Clarity on priorities: It is crucial to have a clear understanding of what your top priority is. This allows you to focus your efforts and resources on the most important task or goal that will have the greatest impact on your business. Conscious effort: Making a conscious effort involves both physical and mental presence. Physically showing up at the workplace and actively supporting your team, as well as mentally being fully engaged and present in the moment, without distractions. Consistency: Consistency is key in building trust and engagement with your team. It means consistently showing up and being present, not just during emergencies or high-pressure situations, but on a regular basis. This helps create a sense of reliability and care for your employees. Caring for your people: Lee talks about the importance of genuinely caring for your team. By putting your body and mind where your priorities are, you demonstrate that you value and support your employees. This leads to a more engaged workforce and fosters a positive work environment. BEST MOMENTS "I don't think there's anything more powerful than a leader turning up to the place that is contributing their efforts towards delivering against your number one priority." "What I'm talking about here is not sending emails, not making phone calls, not tasking others, but you going to the place of work, putting your body where the priority is."  "If everything's a priority, then nothing is a priority." "I believe that one of the most important ways that you can get across that you care about your people is when things are going right or wrong, you are consistently turning up, consistently showing up."  "I think everybody can do it more. But I think we've got to do it right. So that comes down to these three C's: clarity on the priority, conscious effort physically and mentally being present, and then thirdly, doing it consistently."  HOST BIO You can contact Lee Houghton on 07813342194 Lee@leehoughton.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/lhoughton/ For the last 15 years, I have been a multi-sector internal or external business improvement consultant, building the improved capability of individuals, teams and businesses. College football power rankings are used to assess the relative strength and performance of college football teams. They are created by sports analysts, media outlets, and organizations, and they provide a numerical or ordinal ranking of teams based on various factors. While the specific methodology can vary among different rankings, here are some common factors and methods used in creating these rankings: Win-Loss Record: Teams with better win-loss records are typically ranked higher. Wins and losses are a fundamental factor in assessing team performance. Strength of Schedule: The quality of a team's opponents is a significant factor. A team that faces tough opponents and performs well may receive a higher ranking than a team with an easier schedule. Margin of Victory: Some rankings consider how much a team wins by in its games. Dominating wins may be weighted more heavily than narrow victories. Recent Performance: Teams' recent performance, typically over the past few games, is often given more weight. A team that has been on a winning streak may be ranked higher than a team that started strong but has since struggled. Head-to-Head Results: When two teams have played each other, the outcome of their direct matchup may influence their rankings. Statistical Metrics: Various statistical metrics, such as points scored, points allowed, yards gained, and yards allowed, may be factored into rankings. Advanced statistics like efficiency ratings can also play a role. Consistency: Consistency in performance is often considered. Start your professioinal Glow-up Here: 1:1 Consultation The Professional Glow-Up: Assessment of Your Image Are you feeling stuck in your career? Do you need a change but don't know where to start? A Professional Glow-Up Assessment might be just what you need. In the grand theater of life, each one of us is a protagonist, a leading character with a unique role to play. And just like in any great drama, our costumes - our personal style - can speak volumes about our character before we even utter a single line. The Hunger Games", a dystopian franchise, used costumes as a critical element in illustrating the stark contrast between the impoverished districts and the wealthy Capitol. But beyond mere aesthetics, our personal style choices can significantly impact how we perceive ourselves, make decisions, and ultimately lead our lives. Your personal style is an external reflection of your inner self. When you dress in a way that authentically represents who you are, it boosts your self-confidence. You feel more comfortable in your skin, ready to take on challenges head-on. For example:   Vera Wang: She didn't start her fashion career until she was 40. Her transformation from a figure skater and journalist to a high-fashion designer involved adopting an elegant, minimalist personal style that is now synonymous with luxury and prestige. This shift in image played a role in her becoming one of the most successful designers in the world. Julia Child: Julia didn't start cooking until she was nearly 40. She adopted a sophisticated and approachable style, both in her kitchen attire and her on-screen persona. Her unique style and warm personality helped her connect with audiences, leading to her success as a cookbook author and television show host. Arianna Huffington: Arianna co-founded The Huffington Post when she was 55. Known for her chic suits and pearls, she cultivated a sophisticated and professional image that added credibility to her innovative news platform, contributing to its immense success. Martha Stewart: Martha built a brand based on her unique style and approach to home decor, cooking, and crafts. Her transformation from a caterer to a lifestyle guru involved adopting a clean, polished, and homely style. Her first book, published at age 41, marked the start of her homemaking empire.   By transforming our personal style, we can effectively enhance our personal brand and boost self-confidence. This not only improves public perception but also paves the way for professional success and financial growth.   If you're trying to determine whether it's time to update your professional image encompassing your attire, style, hair, makeup, and overall personal brand, here are some pointers to consider: Shifts in Goals or Values: Changing personal or professional objectives can signal the need for a brand refresh. If your current image doesn't seem to align with these changes, it's probably time to consider an update. Comfort and Confidence: If you don't feel confident or comfortable with your current professional image, that's a sign it may be time to revise it. Your personal brand should inspire self-assuredness. Consistency: Consistency is key in personal branding. If you notice inconsistency across different platforms or in-person interactions, then you might need to streamline your image. Narrative: If your personal brand lacks a clear narrative or fails to communicate your unique story, it might be time to reconsider your presentation. Professionalism: Consider if your appearance matches the level of professionalism you wish to project. If your look seems unprofessional or out of sync with your industry's norms, it might be time for a change. Current Trends: If your image feels outdated or no longer excites you, a refresh could be beneficial. Keeping up with contemporary styles and trends can help maintain a modern, engaging image. Life Changes: Major life events or significant changes in your career direction often warrant a reevaluation of your personal brand. How do you think others perceive you professionally, and does this align with how you want to be perceived? If you love your answer than congratulations. If you know you need to elevate your personal style & image, click the link in the show notes to schedule a 1:1 consultation with me and lets start elevating your personal brand image! Remember, your personal brand isn't just about how you look—it's a reflection of who you are, what you stand for, and how you portray yourself to others. Regularly assessing your personal brand ensures it remains authentic, relevant, and aligned with your current goals.

Struggling with discipline that you're needing to achieve your goals? In this episode, Adam Hill discusses the three key components to developing real discipline. From focusing on goals to maintaining self-control, this episode is your guide to unlocking your full potential. He also explains why an approach of “slow and steady wins the race” is better than “short-term bursts of willpower.” Learn how to push yourself forward, stay motivated, and take action towards your goals. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: Discipline vs. willpower Unlocking real discipline through purpose The illusion of 110% The power of consistency The power of 5% to achieve long-term goals The power of starting at 80% capacity The domain of discipline Episode Highlights: [06:08] The Power of Meaningful Purpose to Unlock Real Discipline Having a meaningful purpose behind your goal or pursuit is crucial for developing real discipline. For instance, Adam stayed disciplined with the cello in high school because he found meaning in potentially getting into a good college through his playing. On the other hand, when he tried different fitness programs without a deeper meaning beyond wanting six-pack abs, he struggled to stay disciplined. Adam emphasizes that the meaning should go beyond superficial desires and instead be something that brings pride, like positively impacting others. This meaningful purpose is essential for long-term discipline development and maintenance. [15:01] The Power of Consistency Consistency is the key to success. It's not just about having a plan, but also about following it with unwavering dedication. Whether it's in business, fitness, or relationships, staying consistent is crucial. We shouldn't shame ourselves for occasional lapses; instead, we course correct and keep moving forward. Consistency is an integral part of discipline, and while they are not the same, consistency plays a vital role. Many people struggle with maintaining consistency, but with a well-crafted plan, commitment, and meaningful purpose, anyone can stay on track and achieve their goals. [16:16] The Power of 5%: Achieving Long-Term Goals One Step at a Time Adam emphasizes the importance of breaking down big, long-term goals into manageable steps. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the enormity of the task, he suggests working backwards and identifying the next smallest step that represents just a 5% increase in challenge or progress. By taking small, incremental steps, the journey remains exciting and within reach, rather than intimidating. For instance, when Adam wanted to become an Ironman triathlete, he started by learning to float in the pool as his first 5% step, slowly building up his swimming ability until he completed the full open water swim. By embracing this approach, long-term goals become achievable, preventing burnout and ensuring sustainable progress without relying solely on willpower. [20:45] The Power of Starting at 80%: Embracing Discipline and Sustainable Progress When embarking on a new endeavor, whether it's starting a business, investing, or beginning a fitness program, we are often misled by the notion that we must give 110% from the start. This is a lie perpetuated by hustle culture and influencers. The truth is, true discipline lies in starting at 80% of our capacity, not pushing ourselves to the brink. Willpower is finite and unsustainable. Counterintuitively, the key to discipline is holding back and pacing ourselves. Slowing down may be challenging, but it is an essential aspect of discipline that many people overlook. By embracing this approach, we can foster sustainable progress and achieve our goals in a way that is both effective and manageable. Devan Kline, Co-Founder & Visionary, and Luke Smith, Fitness Specialist at Burn Boot Camp are back for another installment of Trainer Talk! Masters of their craft and the true engineers of the fitness product at Burn Boot Camp, these men are breaking down the how, why and what to achieving your fitness goals. Strength training, also known as resistance training, is a type of physical exercise that involves using weights or resistance to build strength and muscle mass. The fundamentals of fitness behind strength training include: Progressive Overload: This principle involves gradually increasing the amount of weight or resistance used during strength training exercises. By continually challenging your muscles with heavier weights, your muscles will adapt and become stronger. Specificity: This principle suggests that the type of exercise you do should match your fitness goals. If your goal is to build strength, then you should focus on exercises that target the major muscle groups, such as the chest, back, legs, and arms. Rest and Recovery: Rest and recovery are crucial for muscle growth and repair. After strength training, your muscles need time to recover before you can work them again. Adequate rest and recovery time will help prevent injury and improve overall performance. Proper Technique: Proper technique is essential for effective and safe strength training. By using proper form and technique, you can target specific muscle groups and prevent injury. Consistency: Consistency is key for any fitness program, including strength training. To see results, you need to be consistent with your workouts and gradually increase the intensity and volume over time. By applying these fundamental principles, you can effectively and safely build strength, improve muscle mass, and enhance overall fitness through strength training. _______________________ Find your STRENGTH at Burn Boot Camp!

Brands that Last: Three Secrets

Personal Branding Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 25, 2022 9:39

Do brands last a lifetime? What makes some brands survive while others fail?Think about this question as it relates to your own life. What brands and products do you remember from your childhood? Are those brands still existing? If so, what could their main secrets be? If they are no longer around, what could have led to their extension? So, perhaps you already know the answers to these questions. My favorite childhood car brand was the French-built Peugeot. The Peugeot company was founded in 1810 by Jean-Pierre Peugeot, who began making coffee mills and bicycles.Despite not having seen my grandfather’s functional Peugeot 504 (Peugeot’s first Saloon Car), I did see the spoilt immovable car kept in the garage. The car’s round headlights and sunroof caught my attention at the time. On occasion, he gathers his young children and tells them stories of his car-related antics. From Ho to Hohoe and Aflao to Accra, he traveled. It was the most adored vehicle in the 1970s and 1980s. I used to only consider traveling by the Peugeot. All this time I was hoping for a meaningful experience that I would be able to talk about with my grandfather. Was his account of the car similar to my personal experience, in other words? Brand's perception vs customer experience.Admirably the Peugeot still exists today with different models made, and the company has evolved. Today, I will share with you three key secrets among the many that help brands thrive over generations. There are several ways brands can survive and thrive. The key to success lies in understanding these strategies and applying them to your business. Let’s get started… Customer-focused: if your goal is for your customers to feel satisfied and you put your all into it to achieve that result, your customers will come back to serve you in many ways. Some may become your unofficial brand ambassadors. Brands that attain iconic status are people-minded. They take pride in their work and they go the extra step to ensure that their clients and customers are satisfied. Brands that last know that they’re in business because of people. They realize that these people will be spreading the good word and image about the brand, which will bring in more clients and more money. Brands that last put a premium on their customer acquisition and retention processes and don’t let it happen by chance. are the ones that succeed over the long term. The key to creating enduring customer value is to figure out how to build sustainable competitive advantage, not just for individual companies but for entire industries. Be value-driven! Communication: Brands that last keep their communication channels open all the time. Lasting brands use both new and old media to promote your business. Social media is used to engage with people, listen to them, provide feedback, and promote products and services. Listening helps provide avenues for bettering your products and services and strengthening your brand's presence Lasting brands have a strong digital presence and constantly improve their digital presence to stay top of mind for their target audience. These actions help to strengthen the bond between the brand and its customers Consistency: Consistency is key. Nothing remarkable can be achieved without consistency. It's the value, the voice, and the brand that drives home the message. Brands that last are always improving, always innovating, and always marketing their products and services Follow Coca-Cola’s lead. They’ve improved, even their formula, packaging, and messages, and constantly market themselves.Returning to the Peugeot brand, one of their success secrets has been their ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement. They never gave up, and today it’s one of the most sought-after cars in Europe by tourists. In addition to nine other Car of the Year wins in Spain, they have won five Car of the Year awards in Italy. I will summarize it all by ending with the words of James C. Collins from His Book, ‘Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies, “The good news is that one of the key elements of being a visionary company is strikingly simple: Good old-fashioned hard work, dedication to improvement, and continually building for the future will take you a long way… The bad news is that creating a visionary company requires huge quantities of good old-fashioned hard work, dedication to improvement, and continually building for the future. There are no shortcuts. There are no magic potions. There are no workarounds. To build a visionary company, you've got to be ready for the long, hard pull. Success is never final” To remain relevant, brands must continuously reinvent themselves to attract new customers or retain existing ones. This requires constant innovation and adaptation. In conclusion, note that lasting brands are not built on autopilot, when it comes to building lasting brands, it's important to understand what makes your brand different from others, and then find ways to leverage those differences to create lasting value for your customers. TRES 140: Influence, The Psychology of Persuasion for Real Estate Agents

The Real Estate Sales Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 4, 2022 7:58

Dr. Robert Chialdini's book “Influence: Psychology of Persuasion” applies to many facets of life. However, it can also be applied specifically to real estate. In today's episode of The Real Estate Sales Podcast, Jimmy breaks down the six core principles discussed in Dr. Chialdini's book and how you can apply these principles to your real estate business.  Principle of Reciprocity If someone gives, we naturally want to give back. What are you giving to your potential or future clients to foster this principle?  In a similar vein, what are you doing to thank past clients? If you want to get referrals, give them something first, like a card or small gift. Principle of Consistency Consistency is how people will get to know you better, and it tells people who you are as a person.  Provide a monthly newsletter and consistently add to your social media platform to encourage trust in your audience, ultimately leading to more business. Principle of Social Proof Online testimonials and recommendations are an easy example of social proof - they encourage people to work with you! When you close a home, share the story of how you helped someone reach their goal of owning a home rather than bragging about closing the sale. This is social proof encourages observers to want the same. Principle of Liking We're in the know, like, and trust business. People won't want to work with you if you're not likable. It's as simple as that. Principle of Authority People like doing business with authority figures (who are people who know and understand what they're doing.) You can set yourself as an authority figure in real estate by providing updates, market reports, and other information that provides value to prospects. Principle of Scarcity People make decisions based on a fear of missing out. Since the pandemic, we've seen this; people want a house because they're scared they won't be able to otherwise. Plus, Interest rates are also lower than they've ever been, further encouraging people to buy out of fear.  While it might be a seller's market now, the market is constantly fluctuating, and there's always a need for realtors to make the buying and selling process happen. Applying these principles allows you to serve your clients better, get in touch with more people in your community, and have a more significant impact on your business. If that's not reason enough to implement them in your everyday work, we're not sure what is. Do you have a video or content idea that is perfect for your business? Share it with Jimmy! Episode 203: Today You Choose - It's all about Family: Interview Jason Martin This is Your Captain Speaking - Life Lessons from the Journey So Far Welcome to the Love Your Story podcast. How often have you thought about the importance of intentionally making your family - the people you love - the most important thing in your life? Not just in word and intention, but in actuality?  On today's show I'm talking with Jason Martin, the author or This is your Captain Speaking - Life Lessons from the Journey so far. As I read his book it was easy to sum up the entire premise - Make Your Family Your Top Priority, and the intentionality of making memories, recording memories, sharing memories with loved ones. In this heartwarming book he wrote to his family, Jason Martin takes us on a journey inside his life as a husband, father, provider, and a family leader. You will watch as he shows you how to create a life filled with memories that your children will remember for the rest of their lives. By creating a legacy built on the foundations of love, hope, and gratitude, your family will learn critical life lessons to become the best versions of everything they can be. —-This is what we are all about on the Love Your Story podcast - intentionally creating the life we want on purpose. Stay tuned for my discussion with Jason - the Captain of his family, and I think you'll leave with some ideas for your own intentional family living. Jason Martin has not experience as a writer, in fact he failed copy editing in college, but he is a believer in dreams and stretching. He is a former sports anchor and currently runs one of the most successful real estate teams in Washington D.C., but above all, his family is his #1 priority. He and his wife Jennifer have 3 human children and a dog named Scooby, and together they live a fun, wild, everyday normal life. Jason writes this book specifically to his family, addressing them in unexpected places. There is not question we are peaking into a compilation he wrote for his family, but in that compilation we see what it looks like to put family first. There is no doubt he wishes to teach, support and leave a legacy for his kids. Tune in to the audio program to hear my discussion with Jason. You don't want to miss it. You start out your book with “Anyone who knows me will tell you that above all else comes family.” Let's start out with why…. To contact Jason or buy his book: todayyouchoose.com jason@jasonmartingroup.com https://www.amazon.com/This-Your-Captain-Speaking-Lessons/dp/1954801009/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1625763215&sr=8-2 The last section of this book has a list of 9 final lessons. I wanted to end with 3 of them that I liked. #1 - Consistency: Consistency is required for success in life. As you create your best life story on purpose be consistent with those things that really matter. Consistently be there - show up. Consistently be kind. Consistently listen. Consistently sit down and tackle that project. Intentionality requires consistency. #2 What you tell yourself matters - here we are back to the idea that the stories you tell yourself are the most powerful stories you will ever tell. If your self-talk is uplifting and supportive you'll fly. #3 Ideas to Action - as you intentionally plan what you want in your story you'll start with an idea. If you don't put that idea into action it won't happen. So remember, intentionally living requires you to take action. Even if it takes years to show up.  Your challenge for this week is to think about your family. Think about the priority they are for you and see if your actions are aligned with where that priority sits in your mind and heart. All these ideas we've discussed today are ideas you can teach your family. Kids and help parents understand new ideas and parents should absolutely teach children how to live intentionally. If there is something you can tweak this week to help your kids learn...

SMM 040: How Simple + Consistent Gospel Teaching Can Unleash The Power of Families

Spiritually Minded Mom Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 6, 2019 25:03

Episode 40 is an episode where listeners called in to share their insights about how they are using the Come Follow Me curriculum in their homes. The women who called in all share different approaches to using the new curriculum. Ultimately, they all emphasize how simple and consistent gospel teaching is blessing their families. Do What Works For Your Family I love how each person’s response was a little different but all had the same overarching theme of the blessings of teaching their families the gospel. They all are following the promptings they have received and are doing what works for their family. I hope hearing what others are doing and how they are implementing Come Follow Me will not cause you to compare. Hopefully, this episode will inspire you to listen to the Holy Ghost and then do what you feel prompted to do for your family. Seek The Holy Ghost as a Guide I love this quote found on the first page of the Come Follow Me manual for individuals and families: “…in our efforts to live, learn, and teach the gospel, we should first and foremost seek the companionship of the Spirit. This goal should govern our choices and guide our thoughts and actions. We should seek after whatever invites the influence of the Spirit and reject whatever drives that influence away–for we know that if we can be worthy of the presence of the Holy Ghost, we can also be worthy to live in the presence of Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ.” Conversion is our goal and the way to do that is to use the Holy Ghost as a guide. If you feel an impression to present a lesson or teach something a certain way, do it. Even if it’s not what someone else is doing. Simplicity The gospel of Jesus Christ is simple. One person who commented on my post on Instagram about Come Follow Me pointed out the phrase in the hymn Come Follow Me: “Come follow me, a simple phrase.” I love that. Keep it simple and let the Spirit guide you. Consistency Consistency is a key element of teaching in the home. In the episode, I referenced a talk by Elder David A Bednar from October 2009 called More Diligent and Concerned at Home. In this talk Elder Bednar shared the struggles his own family faced to hold family prayer, family home evening and scripture study. I love what he said about consistency: Sister Bednar and I thought helping our sons understand the content of a particular lesson or a specific scripture was the ultimate outcome. But such a result does not occur each time we study or pray or learn together. The consistency of our intent and work was perhaps the greatest lesson—a lesson we did not fully appreciate at the time. Listener Insights Here’s a recap of what the four listeners said: Sophie Increased comprehension Repetition and repeating things Use Christian resources Use Bible videos and other lesson helps on lds.org Slow down and get to the heart Heather Find a time that works for your family Less actual scripture reading and more discussion about what was read Let children talk the most Come Follow Me is about connection Likening what we learn to ourselves Teenagers will open up Robin Uses a bookmark she makes to break up the weekly, personal study For older children: shares what she is learning during the week in her personal study by emailing talks and articles For younger children: uses the primary manual Not adding or supplementing except through church sources Ashley Keep it simple with coloring, walks, etc. Talk as a family Ask questions Have a conversation at children’s level of understanding Pray specifically for the blessings promised by President Russell M. Nelson in this quote: “The new home-centered, Church-supported integrated curriculum has the potential to unleash the power of families, as each family follows through conscientiously and carefully to transform their home into a sanctuary of faith. I promise that as you diligently work to remodel your home into a center of gospel learning, over time your Sabbath days will truly be a delight. Your children will be excited to learn and to live the Savior’s teachings, and the influence of the adversary in your life and in your home will decrease. Changes in your family will be dramatic and sustaining.”     Show Notes Conference talks about Simple + Consistent Gospel Teaching Elder David A. Welcome to Episode 9 of Season 1 – 3 Principles For Success (Including Your Content Creation Schedule) Season 1 of the podcast is all about how you can start your first profitable online business. This season draws its shows from the free downloadable resource ‘The 13 Steps to Creating Your First Profitable Online Business.' In todays show we cover step 8 of the 13 steps to creating your first profitable online business: Your Content Creation Schedule: The 2 foundational pillars of business is to: Add value to your customers ahead of time To get them to know, like and trust you This is why having a content creation schedule is so important. Success Principal # 1: Consistency Consistency leads to success. When you produce consistent content you are training people to come back regularly. However, when your content creation is irregular, you are teaching people not to bother! Most people give up too soon because they are not seeing immediate results. "Success is inevitable if you are consistent." Clive Smit What medium are you going to create in? Written Audio Video A mix of all 3 I recommend making content in the form that you like to consume in. The great thing about making this content is that you can use it as the source or your social media content. And this brings us to the best part... Success Principal # 2: Delegation Get your VA (virtual assistant) to use the transcript of your content to post to your social media accounts. "Can I really do this?" I hear you ask. Not only can you, but you MUST! The two most important questions you need to ask about your business: What can only I do? Who else can do the rest? "But I can't afford..." "Scared money don't make money." Our next success principal will explain why delegation is an absolute must. Success Principal # 3: Focus Most people wear the ability to multitask as a badge of honour. But this simply means that you are NOT focused! Gerald Weinberg found that context switching is a productivity killer.  Context switching is the time and energy that it takes to get re-associated and reacquainted to the other project you just moved away from and that you are now coming back to. So stop multitasking and focus! F. O. C. U. S.  = follow one course until success. We can do this by batching our work. Take a day each month, fortnight or day to create your content. Calendar this is to your schedule now. Create as much as you can on this day so you can get ahead and have margin for times when emergencies or opportunities pop up on your calendar. What other regular tasks can you batch?   In The Next Episode: In the next episode we'll look at step 9 in the 13 step process to creating your profitable online business: Creating A Traffic Plan I look forward to reading your questions and comments! In this episode, #1 Bestselling Author and Highly Acclaimed business & Entrepreneur Expert, Mel Abraham, continues the journey of going from idea to thought leader as he digs deeper into the final two levels of the Thought Leader Framework which are Leverage Knowledge and Noticeable Distinction. Leverage Knowledge Building Content in Layers: It is about creating content in such a way that you have layers of information around it and you can continue to teach over and over again at different levels depending on the audience and time. You can build frameworks and models to bring a level of awareness and distinction. Repurposed: Repurposing is about working on something from the beginning and creating it in such a way that it can have multiple uses. Your ideas and information then can be used for speeches, training programs, mentorship, coaching, authoring and facilitating. You just have to build it right from the start. Consistency: Consistency is the key. You have to create and present your content using different mediums in a consistent basis. If you do it randomly, your followers might not stick around. But if you create it periodically on a regular basis making sure that it is relevant, it will build a momentum and you will gain followers. Noticeable Distinction Clear: Understand your customer and build a clear distinction in their minds. Get in their shoes, hearts and minds to know what they are feeling and thinking. Understand the solutions that you are looking for and make sure that they are clear on the fact that you have what they are lacking in. Valuable: Your solution to the problem must be valuable enough so that people are willing to pay for it. If they don't see it as valuable, they will not buy it. So, make sure that your market sees it as valuable. Recognizable: What you do and create must be recognizable. The marketplace must know that it is coming from you and they must have a certain association with your content and products. __________________________ ABOUT MELABRAHAM Mel is the founder of BusinessBreakthrough Academy and Thoughtpreneur Academy where he helpsentrepreneurs bring their businesses to the world and build thelifestyle that they want.
