Many people were wounded after an attacker deliberately drove his vehicle into a crowd. 2x people remain in critical condition, and 9x others were wounded during the attack. The assailant has not yet been identified, however locals state that he was known to local police.-HomeFront-Kentucky: Overnight the casualty count regarding yesterday's plane crash rose to a total of 11x fatalities as several people remain missing. As of this morning, the fires are mostly out, and firefighters remained on the scene throughout much of the day. The main structures that the plane crashed in to on the ground were the Ford auto factory, as well as UPS's own logistics hub that serviced the airport. As a result, this major regional package sorting facility will be offline for some time.USA: Around the United States, the rollup of yesterday's election resulted in a near total victory for Democrat candidates across the board. Zohran Mamdani was elected Mayor of New York City by a wide margin, and Abigail Spanberger won the Governorship in Virginia. Also in Virginia, Ghasala Hashmi won the election for Lieutenant Governor, making her the first Muslim woman to hold the office in state history. Jay Jones also won his election for Attorney General, despite the scandal during his campaign surrounding his comments calling for the murder of his enemy's wife and children in a text exchange. Analyst Comment: Jones also quite literally tried to kick a dog at a polling place on election day, which although a unique campaign tactic, didn't seem to hurt his election chances either.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the United Kingdom, the most concerning detail of the second-migrant-release case is that this release took place on October 29th. Per their statements, the Met only found out about this release yesterday afternoon, almost a full week after the criminal was released.This situation was also made worse by comments made (or rather, not made) during the Prime Minister's Questions session in Parliament yesterday. Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy was hounded by a few MPs for refusing to answer the question of whether or not any more migrants had accidentally been released since the Kebatu case came to light. After his refusal to answer this question the first time, this ballooned into him being pressed again and again, resulting in him refusing to answer the simple question roughly half a dozen times. At that moment, it didn't make much sense as to why this level of resistance was offered up by Lammy, or why he became so belligerent at this specific question being asked. After all he could just say "not that I'm aware of" and move on, no big deal. It's day 34 of the government shutdown which is posed to be the longest ever as Republicans and Democrats appear to be at an impasse. President Trump has called for the "nuclear option," ending the filibuster which requires 60 votes to reopen the government. On the eve of the 2025 elections, Jim McLaughlin is here to give expert insight into tomorrow's elections. In Virginia, Abigail Spanberger is leading Winsome Earle-Sears for the Governor's race, even getting an endorsement from the NAACP. Jason Miyares has had the lead for Attorney General against Jay Jones since early October. Jay Jones is still in the race even after text messages revealed a dark, demented fantasy about him wanting to kill his political opponents and their family. In New Jersey, Jack Ciattarelli is in a neck and neck race with Mikie Sherrill, McLaughlin says New Jersey is ready for change and most people are worried about affordability. Ciattarelli has picked up support in counties President Trump did well, as well as seeing support from black voters. In New York City, while Zohran Mamdani shows a significant lead in polling, the candidates are so untraditional this race is much closer than people think. New Yorkers have to choose between a radical Socialist Zohran Mamdani and a scandal plagued independent Andrew Cuomo. Colorado's attorney general is suing the Trump administration over its decision to move U.S. Space Command headquarters from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, Alabama. Attorney General Phil Weiser filed the lawsuit last week, arguing the president's move is unconstitutional and violates federal law requiring notices and reports to Congress before relocating a major military headquarters. Weiser said President Donald Trump openly admitted the move was meant to punish Colorado for its mail-in voting system. Break 1: KIA Mall of Georgia STORY 1: More than 300 apartments OKed near Gas South District Big changes are coming near the Gas South District—more than 300 new apartments, to be exact. Last week, Gwinnett County commissioners gave Hanover Company the green light to build a 306-unit complex at 1855 Satellite Boulevard, right across from Cross Pointe Church. The site? It’s currently home to two aging office buildings, one of which will be torn down to make room. The new apartments will include four five-story buildings, with 190 one-bedroom units and 116 two-bedrooms. Plans also feature a pool, fire pits, outdoor gathering spaces, and even resort-style patios. Access will be from Satellite Boulevard and the Kroger shopping center nearby. Brick and fiber cement exteriors, plus detached garages and carports, round out the design. Change is definitely on the horizon. STORY 2: Peachtree Corners to hold dedication ceremony for historic Jones Bridge marker Peachtree Corners is honoring a piece of its past with a new historical marker dedicated to the original Jones Bridge—the inspiration behind the city’s iconic pedestrian bridge. In partnership with PTC Arts, a nonprofit focused on bringing the community together through the arts, the city will unveil the marker on Friday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m., right at the pedestrian bridge by Town Center. The original Jones Bridge, built in 1904, was more than just steel and wood—it was a lifeline, connecting farmers, merchants, and travelers across the Chattahoochee River. But time wasn’t kind. By the Great Depression, it was falling apart, and in 1945, most of the structure was dismantled and sold off under shady circumstances. The final piece collapsed into the river in 2018, ending its story—or so we thought. The pedestrian bridge, opened in 2020, keeps that legacy alive with its design, and now, the marker will ensure future generations know the history. We’ll be right back Break 2: Ingles Markets STORY 4: Carr joins other attorneys general in call for crackdown on intoxicating hemp products Georgia lawmakers are weighing tighter rules on intoxicating hemp products, but Attorney General Chris Carr? He’s going bigger—joining 38 other Attorney General’s in calling for a federal crackdown to pull these products off shelves entirely. Here’s the issue: gas stations and convenience stores are selling gummies, vapes, and drinks made from hemp that can get you just as high as marijuana. Why? A loophole in the 2018 federal law that legalized industrial hemp. Carr and his peers say bad actors are exploiting this “inadvertent ambiguity” to flood the market with unregulated, high-THC products. Carr’s office sounded the alarm Wednesday, citing a rise in kids accidentally ingesting these substances. But not everyone’s on board. Christopher Lackner, CEO of the Hemp Beverage Alliance, called the Attorney Generals’ letter “concerning.” He agrees dangerous, kid-targeted products need to go but argues that banning all intoxicating hemp products could crush a thriving industry. Meanwhile, Georgia lawmakers are trying to balance public safety with supporting the state’s growing hemp industry. It’s a messy debate. STORY 5: Housing Matters: Data says few housing options for Gwinnett’s poorest Skyrocketing housing costs are pushing Gwinnett residents into impossible situations—cramped hotels, couch-surfing, even homelessness. A new report from Builders Patch Housing Count shows just how bad it is: for every 100 renters in Gwinnett’s lowest income bracket (earning less than 30% of the area’s median income, or about $89,000), there are only 9 affordable units. Nine. And it doesn’t get much better as incomes rise—12 units for very-low income renters, 5 for low-income, and just 1 for middle-income families. The county needs 100,000 affordable units to close the gap. Meanwhile, rents are down 13% this year, but still average $1,900 for a two-bedroom. Median home prices? $412,000. STORY 6: Political shutdown fight over food stamps comes to Georgia The federal shutdown is about to hit hard. Starting today, over a million Georgians, many of them kids, could lose access to food stamps. No federal funding, no groceries. Governor Brian Kemp? He’s not budging. Despite $14 billion in state reserves, he’s refused to step in, calling it a “Schumer shutdown” and blaming Democrats in Congress. Meanwhile, families are bracing for empty plates. Food pantries like Feeding GA Families are already overwhelmed, with demand up 50%. Thanksgiving? It’s looking grim. And the blame game? It’s in full swing. Republicans point fingers at Democrats for blocking a funding resolution, while Democrats say Republicans are holding SNAP hostage over tax credits. STORY 7: Gwinnett SWAT team captures Marietta murder suspect A man accused of killing his stepfather in a Marietta apartment shooting is now in custody after a SWAT team arrested him in Gwinnett County. Pharron Carlos Banks, 26, had been on the run since Monday night, when police say he shot and killed 58-year-old Michael Jackson during a domestic dispute at the Briggs at Power Park apartments on Franklin Gateway. Officers arrived to find Jackson with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital but didn’t make it. Banks had already fled. His car turned up in Atlanta near the university center, but Banks wasn’t with it. By Wednesday, Marietta police tracked him to a home in Gwinnett. After securing a warrant, Gwinnett’s SWAT team moved in, ordering Banks to surrender. He came out just after 5 p.m. and was taken into custody without incident. When the 2007 Non-Prosecution Agreement that saved Jeffrey Epstein's skin was finalized, it wasn't just some rogue local U.S. Attorney acting on his own. The top brass at the Department of Justice — including then–Deputy Attorney General Mark Filip and Attorney General Michael Mukasey — were in the loop. Internal communications, later cited in court filings and investigative reports, show that the NPA was vetted and approved at Main Justice in Washington. Filip's signature appears on the final authorization, effectively green-lighting one of the most scandalous sweetheart deals in modern American legal history. That deal guaranteed Epstein would avoid federal prosecution, granted immunity to unnamed “co-conspirators,” and allowed him to serve just 13 months in a county jail with daily “work release.” It wasn't a clerical accident — it was deliberate, systematic protection signed off by DOJ leadership.The reality is that Epstein's NPA wasn't just a Florida fluke — it was federal complicity dressed in legal procedure. Mukasey, who was Attorney General at the time, oversaw a DOJ that not only tolerated the deal but later defended it in court, arguing it was “binding and final.” Filip's direct approval made the arrangement bulletproof against internal reversal. This wasn't a failure of oversight — it was coordination. The DOJ could have overruled Acosta at any time but instead ratified his actions, cementing a cover-up that shielded Epstein's entire network. He is also a former Assistant Attorney General, White House Fellow and Florida Senator. In 2016, Aronberg created a Sober Homes Task Force that made more than 120 arrests for patient brokering and insurance fraud in the rehab industry, and has led to several new Florida laws and regulations that have become the model for other states. Aronberg's efforts also convinced Google to restrict advertisements and improve screening for addiction treatment. The crackdown in rogue sober homes and corrupted drug treatment centers contributed to a dramatic decrease in opioid-caused deaths in Palm Beach County. Dave Aronberg was born in Miami. He attended public schools before going on to graduate with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. After graduation, he worked in the litigation department of a large South Florida law firm while also working closely with Insurance Commissioner Bill Nelson to investigate European insurance companies that refused to honor World War II-era policies sold to victims of the Holocaust. In 2000, Aronberg was selected to be one of 15 White House Fellows from across the country. In this nonpartisan position, he served in two presidential administrations as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury Department for international money laundering, including the laundering of terrorist assets. Dave Aronberg was elected to the State Senate in 2002 as its youngest member and served until 2010. In 2010, Aronberg returned to the Florida Attorney General's Office as a Special Prosecutor for Prescription Drug Trafficking. All eyes are on Virginia ahead of next week's statewide elections. Recent polls continue to show Democrat Abigail Spanberger leading Republican Winsome Earle-Sears, while both the Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General races are in virtual dead heats. We previewed Virginia's upcoming elections with WAMU's Northern Virginia reporter Margaret Barthel and former U.S. Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA). A split ticket remains a possibility, said Davis, meaning that members of different parties could be elected to the three statewide offices. "Divided government can work very well when you have adults at the helm," he said. "When you don't, it just makes gridlock even worse."Plus, we discussed Virginia Democrats' push for redistricting.Maryland Governor Wes Moore is also considering supporting plans to redraw Maryland's eight congressional districts, but some Democratic leaders are considering blocking the move. House Majority Leader David Moon (D-MD), who represents Montgomery County, joined the show to discuss why he also supports redistricting efforts. On late Friday afternoon, a federal judge ruled the Trump administration must continue to fund SNAP benefits during the shutdown, giving the administration a deadline of Monday to respond. In the meantime, states like Maryland have been debating how to help those who could lose food assistance starting Saturday. Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced Thursday he's allocating $10 million in state funds to local food banks. But many Maryland lawmakers wanted the governor to do more, including stepping in to fully fund federal SNAP benefits. Del.
