Paul Bolte was brought up with a firm foundation in faith and generosity. A seventh-generation Christian born to a farming family in Australia, he learned the value of a good work ethic and the principles of giving as a small child. As an adult, Paul served in various leadership positions in Australia, New Zealand, and the US, and is a lifelong student of servant leadership. Today, Paul is the Executive Vice President of TrustBridge Global. TrustBridge connects donor advised funds in countries all around the world to allow people to make tax deductible gifts to ministries in other countries, even if they don't have a 501c3 designation. TrustBridge acts as a powerful conduit for money to flow from Christians in countries with high concentrations of wealth to organizations working in other countries, impacting the Kingdom by getting financial resources to the “boots on the ground.” Major Topics Include: Paul's family and faith background which laid the groundwork for what he does now The background of TrustBridge Global How they choose partners in various countries Paul's view of how generosity is expressed uniquely in different cultures How TrustBridge has helped facilitate interconnectedness between Believers across the globe QUOTES TO REMEMBER “I didn't realize that, ‘how can I help,' was the very first question in a concept called ‘servant leadership.' And I became a student of leadership; for my entire life, I've been a student of leadership.” “We're trying to mobilize the resources in the hands of Christians.” “Culturally, we are all very different. But we all have this one core value of our faith and what we're called to do. We're called to be generous with everything that we have and everything we are.” “There are many countries that have no tax benefits, yet they are still generous.” “When you send money directly to a charity overseas, the bang for your buck is significantly higher because they can stretch it further and it can get to more people.” “If you want the best return on your investment, you can do that by giving directly to a charity overseas.” “We look for a way to say ‘yes.'” “Generosity to me is not just about money, it's about time.” “When you're working in a Kingdom business and you know that God is behind what you're doing and you watch it grow and give all glory to Him, it's such a joy to watch it all happen.” “Whatever gifts or skills God has given you, take them and use them to serve others.” LINKS FROM THE SHOW TrustBridge Global Foundation National Christian Foundation (see our interview with President Emeritus, David Wills) C12: Christian Business Leadership Coaching International Generosity Foundation Generosity Path Generous Giving (see our interviews with cofounders Todd Harper and David Wills and CEO, April Chapman) Journey to Generosity (JoG) with Generous Giving Global Trust Partners (see our interview with COO Trevor Lui) The Finish Line Community Facebook Group The Finish Line Community LinkedIn Group BIBLE REFERENCES FROM THE SHOW Romans 5:8 | God's Love Demonstrated But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Sexual health is crucial to our well-being. Despite its impact on our lives, it's still not something we commonly discuss with our doctors. This is particularly true for cancer survivors, both during treatment and in the post-treatment phase. What are some of the challenges that cancer survivors have when it comes to sexual wellness? How do the mental, physical, emotional, and financial burdens of cancer impact connection and intimacy? How can doctors, patients, and caregivers foster a better conversation surrounding this topic? We spoke with Sage Bolte, PhD, LCSW, CST, Chief Philanthropy Officer and President of the Inova Health Foundation, certified sex therapist, and respected leader in the field of oncology social work. Our conversation with Dr. Bolte explored ways to navigate sex and body image changes in cancer survivorship, inclusive conversations surrounding sexual wellness and intimacy, how to communicate wants, needs, and fears with your partner, and the sexual wellness resources available to cancer survivors.

Trauma manifests in myriad ways.. On December 15, 1967, trauma erupted in West Virginia - as the small river town of Point Pleasant had just experienced the deadliest bridge collapse in U.S. history. Early that evening, lives in the Ohio River Valley were forever altered, as the Silver Bridge connecting Point Pleasant to Kanauga, Ohio collapsed into the icy river below. 150 American Red Cross volunteers worked feverishly overnight to rescue people and debris from the frigid waters, while friends provided comfort to the weary and hopeful with missing friends and family members. Concerned others supplied food and fire to nourish and warm the workers. “Efforts to dredge the waters of the Ohio River were hampered by the murkiness of the winter's waters, as well as the deep, persistent cold of the December air” (Bolte, 2010). Before the bridge collapse, scores of area residents experienced a year-long barrage of paranormal phenomena. Reports of UFOs, lights in the sky, and Mothman plagued the area for thirteen months to the date, halting abruptly when the thirty-nine-year-old structure collapsed. During this period, witnesses discussed their experiences with police, Athens, Ohio Messenger correspondent Mary Hyre, and paranormal researchers John Keel and Gray Barker; each of whom has since published extensively about the topic. The anomalous activity and catastrophic bridge collapse each caused great emotional, physical, and psychological strain to the people of this otherwise idyllic Appalachian region.

Visiting minister Richard Bolte gives a great message about how we can find ourselves 'greatly beloved' in the eyes of the Lord.
Over five-plus years and eleven hundred-plus episodes, one of my top 3 TYP moments was interviewing Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor; a personal hero of mine. Dr. Bolte delivered my all-time favourite TED talk ‘My Stroke of Insight' over a decade ago and with complete fascination, I watched this amazing Researcher and Neuro-anatomist share in intricate detail about the day the left hemisphere of her brain went ‘off-line' courtesy of a burst blood vessel and stroke that almost took her life. The Brain Scientist was able to witness her own brain shutting down and within four hours, she could not speak, read, walk, write or remember anything from her past. Jill compares her stroke to being like an infant again. Her personal experience, her subsequent eight-year recovery and her training as a Brain Scientist provide her with a unique insight into and understanding of, the brain. It also makes her a brilliant teacher. In a world where platitudes are thrown around like verbal frisbees, this woman is truly remarkable, inspirational and brilliant. This episode is a reboot of our conversation from over 500 episodes ago and knowing how much we've grown since then, I'm confident it will be new for most of you. Enjoy. drjilltaylor.comWhole Brain LivingSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this weeks episode our host Jonathan Aymin sits down with wedding venue owner Sarah Bolte to discuss how she and her family have used weddings as a means to diversity their farming operation, how they use agritourism as a way to build community and educated families, and how her career and background in fundraising has helped her gain skills she uses as part of her venue sales processes. About Our Guest: Sarah Bolte and her husband John are business partners, dreamers and the hands and hearts behind Arlington Acres. Arlington Acres is set on the grounds of a working family farm in northwest Ohio just outside of Tiffin, Ohio. Their farm produces pumpkins, corn, soybeans, wheat, sunflowers and honey. The Barn at Arlington Acres was originally built by Civil War veteran Arlington Dunn in the late 1800's as he prepared to build his farmstead. There is an archive on the farm's namesake at the Rutherford B. Hayes Museum and Presidential Library in Fremont, Ohio. The property and the farm were purchased by their family from the Dunn family in the 1970's and when they needed a name for the barn it seemed only fitting to name it after Arlington Dunn the original owner of this beautiful farm. The foundations of the barn were first laid by the namesake Arlington Dunn in the late 1860s where it stood for several years and then was used as housing for the building crew and farm hands as they built Arlington's beautiful home on the property. The lumber used for the barn and home is all native timber (butternut, walnut, and cherry) from the farm. In 2019, John and Sarah set about restoring the barn to it's former glory and updating it to become a wedding venue. The additions included re-siding, adding windows, restrooms, getting ready suites, a kitchen and patio. In 2022 Arlington Acres was awarded Heritage Ohio's Historic Farmstead of the Year Award for their restoration efforts. The farm is located just outside of Tiffin and is about 90 minutes from Cleveland and Columbus, 60 minutes from Toledo, and only 30 minutes from Findlay, Fremont and Bucyrus. This episode features an interview with Hannah Bolte, Director of Marketing and Communications at Lozier Corporation. Starting as a print and television reporter, Hannah uses her journalism expertise to craft internal, external, and crisis communications strategies and content. In this episode, Amanda and Hannah discuss Lozier's mobile-first employee experience platform, reaching deskless workers, and intentional communications.-------------------"The bulk of our employees work in a manufacturing facility. They don't have email access and their jobs are in the plant, it's not sitting at a desk. We approached the intranet in finding an intranet that would work for us with a sense of, ‘We can't reach those employees right now,' aside from all those things that you said, like a flier in the break room, providing information to supervisors to say at startup meetings. But, how do you engage them beyond their day-to-day? How do you make them feel like they're part of something bigger? How do you make them realize their impact on the company, on the community? So, mobile-first was a non-negotiable thing for us. We had to make sure that it was accessible by all of our employees at any point in time." – Hannah Bolte-------------------Episode Timestamps:*(01:47): Hannah's background*(08:09): Segment: Story Time*(09:13): Why Lozier created a mobile-first employee experience platform*(11:58): Segment: Getting Tactical*(12:27): Hannah explains the ins and outs of LozierLink*(29:30): Segment: Ripped From The Headlines*(32:49): Segment: Asking For a Friend-------------------Links:Connect with Hannah on LinkedInConnect with Lozier Corporation on LinkedInConnect with Amanda on LinkedInwww.simpplr.com/podcast

For this episode I had the pleasure of speaking with the ultra talented and lovely human being… Jean Bolte, that's BoltE, rhymes with Nick Nolte as she told me.Jean has worked in the film industry for many years. She started in wigs and beard, then moved to ILM in time for Willow for which she was a model maker. The thumbnail for the episode shows Jean working on the ostrich for the famous morphing scene. She then went to work on Hook, Jumanji, Men in Black, The Phantom Menace and so many more huge movies as a digital texture artist. She's recently handed in her notice to ILM but is going to be staying very much in the creative world.Jean was just so great to talk to, we hit it off immediately. Chatting with her was surprisingly relaxing and also very inspiring. So here's my conversation with texture artist and supervisor Jean Bolte... This conversation is pure BOLTE-energy. Enthusiastic. Enlightening. Irreverent. Profound. Deeply human. And, at times, hilarious. (Nothing quite prepared me for her answer to my last question!) Katelyn Bolte joins me in episode 18 of The Well Mind Podcast. This is a conversation focused on adolescent mental health and parenting teens. Katelyn is a mental health counselor and the director of a day treatment program for adolescents. Katelyn was a wonderful guest. We cover a lot of ground during our discussion as we talk about schooling during the pandemic and the transition back into school. We also address the struggles that social isolation has amplified for our youth, emotional development during the teen years, and there is plenty of parenting focused talk throughout the conversation. This is a must listen for any parent of a teen or anyone that will have a teen in the near future. Katelyn understands the real challenges that teens and their families are facing and she shares a wealth of practical information that I hope you can integrate into the flow of your family life. More than anything Katelyn and I drive home the need for parents to cultivate connections with their teens during these critical years of life.
