Columbia University announced on Friday that it was banning two anti-Semitic student groups on campus for the remainder of the fall term after they repeatedly violated school rules. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology took considerable backlash over a statement explaining why more actions hadn't been taken against students who promoted anti-semitic and even genocidal slogans while participating in pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus. A Las Vegas teenager reportedly died last week after he was severely beaten by a violent mob of about 15 attackers near a local high school. In a shocking incident that has triggered widespread outrage online, a pro-Palestinian mob can be seen cheering on a protester who climbed a flagpole and tore down U.S. flags as demonstrators marched through central Manhattan over Veterans Day weekend. In the second of two episodes about coffee grinders, Kenneth and Starved Rock Coffee Co's Matt McLaughlin go even deeper into this very important subject. Today, they dive into the blade vs grinder debate and share which one is best. They talk through the pros and cons of burr grinders, explaining the difference between conical and flat, and covering the subject of grind speed. They also look at dosing vs non-dosing grinders, step vs stepless, and Puqpress vs tamping of espresso shots by a barista. They round discussion out by talking all things hand grinders. KEY TAKEAWAYS Blade grinders do not produce a consistent grind size. Burrs are perfectly spaced to produce a far more consistent grind. Matt explains how to maintain your burr grinder. If you start to get an odd taste, try cleaning your burrs. Step grinders tend to be more precisely engineered. Each individual grinder has its own characteristics. A puqpress is the best way to ensure consistency for espresso. Hand grinders work well and are significantly quieter than electric grinders. BEST MOMENTS ‘Think about burrs as being two plates with the perfect spacing in between them.´ ‘The low-speed grinder produces less heat, less noise and less static.' ‘As you use a grinder more, the burrs get worn down a bit, so you´re going to have to make adjustments.' Ken Burrs understands the assignment. The Indio Dojo product sits at 1-0 in his amateur MMA career, and he's already looking to test himself. Big time. Some amateurs want to dip their toes into the shallow waters to get a feel for things to come. Not Burrs. Burrs adjusts his goggles, takes a deep breath, and dives in. He fights Pitt wrestler and 1-0 Stout PGH product James Lledo Saturday, April 15, at Brawl in the Burgh 16 inside the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows Events Center. TICKETS ARE MOVING FAST! GET THEM NOW! That fight is madness. It's beast vs. beast, wrestler vs. wrestler, top prospect vs. top prospect. However you slice it, it rules. Now, Burrs joins 247 Fighting Championships in studio to break down that matchup and the windy road that led him to where he is today. It's a good one. You should watch it now on 247 Live. Sure, it's available on any computer or phone, but you can also watch via the 247 Live app on Roku, Apple TV, and iOS. We recommend the apps. Enjoy the show.

Bill Burrs is a music fan. As a young man, Bill was a late night DJ on a top 40 radio station in his native Minneapolis before moving into record promotion. Bill has spent his career helping bands get on the radio and noticed. He’s worked first at Geffen records and then as a Senior VP at RCA. Today, Bill is at 300 Entertainment doing what he loves doing - helping records get heard. Bill doesn’t make records, he helps records ‘make it’. For over twenty years his mission has been to help bands get their songs heard. "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able to." Here in Luke 13:24, Jesus is answering a question "are only a few going to be saved?" and demonstrates with his own actions how we are to enter through the narrow door. Hebrews 5:7 recounts that "During Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears", thereby, setting the standard and expectation of the progression of God's will for you. However, the Father's goal is not only for us to endure suffering, but to also "fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the JOY set before him endured...". Without the perspective of Joy being the end goal of your suffering, you will become entangled and hindered by your own offenses and options of self sufficiency.
