La trufa negra (Tuber melanosporum) es un hongo que necesita asociarse a las raíces más finas de ciertas plantas superiores como encinas, robles, coscojas, etc., sin las cuales es incapaz de sobrevivir de forma natural. Esta asociación es una forma de simbiosis denominada “micorriza”; palabra que etimológicamente procede de la unión de los vocablos griegos mycos (hongo) y rrhiza (raíz). Los factores que favorecen el desarrollo de la trufa en Teruel son: El suelo: suelos calizos y pobres, con pedregosidad importante. El clima: de veranos cortos y frescos, con habituales nevadas en invierno y fuerte ventosidad. El clima está condicionado en gran medida por la altitud de la zona, el relieve y la por la relativa proximidad al mar Mediterráneo que podemos definir como mediterráneo de montaña. El clima mediterráneo extremo, moderadamente cálido, seco y con inviernos frescos debido a la altitud, favorece el desarrollo de una vegetación idónea. A su vez, las sequías, la pluviometría con lluvias precisas y justas, y los suelos áridos y calizos hacen que Teruel sea la provincia española que más expectativas tiene en producción de trufa de calidad. La truficultura en Teruel se apoya en tres pilares básicos: un suelo adecuado, una planta correctamente micorrizada y adaptada al medio y, finalmente, unas labores culturales de apoyo. La trufa negra (Tuber melanosporum) ha ganado un protagonismo creciente en la provincia de Zaragoza, consolidándose como un motor económico y gastronómico clave en la Aragón. Aunque Teruel lidera el volumen mundial, Zaragoza cuenta con unas 2.100 hectáreas dedicadas a este cultivo. Con motivo de las Jornadas de la Trufa Negra de la Comarca del Campo de Daroca hemos querido conocer la trazabilidad de la trufa negra de la provincia de Zaragoza junto a Pedro Marco, investigador del Departamento de Ciencia Vegetal del Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria del Gobierno de Aragón

Esta medida responde a la situación de riesgo fitosanitario que afrontan los cultivos de manzano y peral, especialmente en Calatayud. El Departamento de Agricultura, Ganadería y Alimentación del Gobierno de Aragón ha recibido hoy la autorización por parte del Ministerio de Agricultura para el uso de productos fitosanitarios formulados a base de bacteriófagos destinados al control del Erwinia amylovora, bacteria responsable del fuego bacteriano, una de las enfermedades más dañinas para los cultivos de fruta de pepita y que afecta de manera considerable entre otras, a la Comarca Comunidad de Calatayud. La Unió Llauradora ha exigido un cambio en la normativa para impedir que se etiquete como trufa negra (Tuber melanosporum) a todos aquellos productos que no la contienen y que simplemente emplean aromas sustitutivos o sucedáneos. Hoy nos acompañará Carles Peris, secretario general de la Unió. El ministro de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, Luis Planas, ha destacado que la apertura de nuevos mercados internacionales ofrece un gran potencial para el sector vitivinícola español. Así se lo ha trasladado el ministro a los integrantes de la Conferencia Española de Consejos Reguladores Vitivinícolas (CECRV), que en la actualidad integra a 58 denominaciones de origen protegida, durante la reunión mantenida hoy, centrada en las oportunidades de promoción internacional del sector vitivinícola. Nos lo contará Jesús Mora, su coordinador general.

An American truffle hunter, Lois Martin, and her  trained dog Monza found a distinctive truffle in a city park that turned out to be a fungus new to science. Although native to North America, it was more similar to European truffles than any found in the Americas. Dr. Greg Bonito at Michigan State University named this new truffle Tuber canirevelatum,  meaning the ‘dog-found' truffle in honour of Monza and other dogs who look for truffles. That's according to a recent study in the journal Sports Medicine and Health Science. In it, scientists found that 9 out of 13 individuals improved how well they did in a mentally taxing cognitive test if they defecated first, whereas all 13 of them improved in their performance when they took a mild laxative the night before.
