He may be the world’s richest person and a personal pal of Donald Trump, but even Elon Musk can have a bad week. Not only has Tesla stock continued to crater as consumers worldwide turn their back on the South Africa-born multibillionaire (some violently) but his right-wing social network X was hit by sporadic outages he blamed on hackers. Even one of his SpaceX rockets blew up, raining debris down on the Earth and endangering passenger airliners. A big part of Musk’s waning popularity is of course tied to his starring role in gutting the US government on behalf of Trump—and even there he’s not as loved as he once was. On this episode to discuss all of this are Bloomberg Businessweek senior writer Max Chafkin and Elon Musk reporter Dana Hull. Later, Bloomberg stocks reporter Esha Day talks about how the markets have been treating Musk of late. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode is for the nerds who don't want to pay someone else to produce their tunes. Here's everything that DIDN'T work - and everything that has been worth every penny - in our home studios over the last ten years. Ryan's been on a quest for studio knowledge for like, a very long time, and in this episode he's spilling the tea on all the tech he would advise new starts to invest in.
To reduce overthinking, self-doubt, and fear – our inner limits – starts with self-awareness. Self-awareness includes understanding yourself, your emotions, and what drives you. Dr. Cindra challenges you this week to notice yourself – how are you feeling, what are you thinking about, and then use the PCR strategy to keep increasing your own awareness of yourself. This Week's Power Phrase: “I choose to lead the hardest person first—myself.” Quote of the Week: “Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves” - Psychologist Carl Jung

The difference isn't all that noticeable but it was a little frustrating. Progress check- I have finished the increases and have knit about 4 inches. Plan: Switch colors half way through. Here's the story: My grandmother called me in mid-January 2023 saying she needed to place an order. I thought she wanted something from Amazon. She told me very time she wears her Jean Marie Shawl to dinner at her residence she gets tons of compliments. All of her friends love it. Its the right size and it just stays in place perfectly. I published this pattern in 2018 to suit the request that she have a slightly bigger shawl that would stay in place. Half hexagon shape is perfect for this. It is knit in 3 sections, originally done in sport/dk natural yarns from Ross Farm in browns/tans. For this one, she wants white/black to wear with different outfits. Welcome to Run Week on Hurdle! In celebration of Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 2, I’m bringing five back-to-back episodes dedicated to the sport that changed my life. That’s not an exaggeration. As many of you know, I started running back in college with a half-mile every single day for a summer. Over the years, that half mile became a mile, that mile became a 5K, and well — now I’m a nine-time marathoner and certified run coach via the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy. I know we have a lot of runners in the Hurdle community, and I made it pretty clear at the start of season 6 that my goal is to cover all areas of wellness. But, I couldn’t let this week go by without doing something special. I’m super amped about the line-up of guests this week kicking off with Jess Movold. She’s known by many as a coach for Runner’s World, based here in New York, and a long-time friend of mine. Today we are chatting about the long run, what it is and how it can differ in length depending on your goals, how to do it better, strategies that you can implement on this particular workout to better slay your next race, and so much more. She’s also got a pretty rough first marathon story to share with all of you, which includes and unfortunate incident with some white shorts (you may be able to guess where this one is going.) Episode Six is the best Conversation we've had thus far. Colin, Dave, & WIl talk about authenticity, originality, and how to make your way in the music industry. There could be no better guest to have on to talk about these qualities with other than CORY WONG. You may know him from the mighty Vulfpeck, his solo career, or his podcast/variety show he's been releasing over the past year. Cory talks Wu-Tang, guitars, Minneapolis, and so much more. We also welcome on our good friend Roberta Faceplant to talk about her new single "Everything is Trash".

This is a special episode of the podcast. No guests this time, just Dan here to give you a very detailed overview of the stimulus bill. Find out what’s in it, what’s not in it, and how the Democrats have been lying through their teeth constantly in a game of petty politics. There is a ton of detail in this episode, so to help you sort through it we’ve included a breakdown of topics: 0:25 - Recap of what Democrats did this week to block passage of the stimulus bill. 3:12 - Why Americans need an economic rescue package and how this is very different from the 2008 bailout. 7:00 - What is really in the stimulus bill. 11:00 - The truth about Democrats claims that by delaying the bill’s passage they got stricter controls on provision of credit to big business. 16:45 - The long list of progressive items that had nothing to do with COVID-19 which the Democrats tried to add to the stimulus bill, like climate change studies and new emission standards for airlines. 19:35 - On the bill that passed the Senate on Wednesday night (almost the same bill which could have been passed last weekend but for the Democrats delays). Details in the bill: 24:53 - Individual tax rebates 27:25 - Expansion of unemployment benefits 30:37 - Small business loans 32:40 - Housing support 33:38 - Support for medical professionals on the front lines 35:30 - Loans to distressed industries 37:14 - Education and student loan relief Frequently asked questions about the bill: 39:00 - Is there really $25 million allocated to give Congress a raise? 39:38 - How does the bill help restaurants? 40:00 - What does the bill do to support airline workers and keep the airline industry afloat? 40:30 - What about the impact on non-profits like the YMCA? 40:47 - Does the bill include funding for PPE, grant CMS authority to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, and increase tele-health? 41:25 - Does the bill provide for student loan cancellation? 42:13 - Does it provide relief for health clubs and studios? 42:33 - What kind of stuff did Nancy Pelosi get into the bill that has nothing to do with COVID relief? 43:22 - Is there a loophole for Planned Parenthood to get funding? 43:37 - Will individuals who were injured and unable to work last year be eligible for stimulus? 43:51 - Is there a way for an individual to prove that their finances are substantially less than in the previous tax year, so that they can be considered eligible for the stimulus? 44:38 - Will this bill include Pelosi’s pork? Will there be consideration for the Green New Deal? 45:08 - Why are we bailing out cruise ships that are registered in other countries so they can avoid paying taxes? 45:34 - Are people that own their own businesses eligible for the crisis assistance? 45:45 - How will the assistance be disbursed? Will it be automatically deposited or will they have to apply for it individually? 45:59 - What about adults that don’t report anything to the IRS because their sole income comes from Social Security? 46:08 - Concluding thoughts about the bill and the way forward from here.

Whatever we want in life, be it more success in our business, better health, more freedom, a deeper connection to the Divine, it all begins within, as an idea...as a thought. To realize our idea we have to begin by cultivating a belief that it’s possible. We then have to develop the self-trust and inner knowing that we can and will achieve it. And finally we have to follow our intuition and the trail of bread crumbs our higher all-knowing selves leave for us that will lead us to do the right thing, at the right time, in the right way, to realize our goal. If you're an entrepreneur, you already know there are many challenges you'll have to face on the road to bringing your idea into the world. To help you do that, I wanted to share some reminders with you (that we all need), and also some strategies and tactics to help you on your journey. I hope this episode helps you win more of your internal creative battles and bring more of the valuable products and services that want to come through you into the marketplace. In this episode, you'll discover: Why succeeding in the world is predominantly an inside job. How to marry your two most dominant ideas to create a valuable idea baby you can then share with the world Some powerful tools and resources you can use to help you bring more of your idea(s) into the world and enhance the lives of those around you. The importance of seeing yourself as a spiritual being, and also a spiritual entrepreneur, having a human experience. All of us want a business that hums along, routinely churning out profits as if on autopilot, but how the heck do you do that? This week I’ve enlisted the help of the undisputed market leader to teach you practical steps to amplify, accelerate, and automate your profits. Amy Porterfield teaches business owners, educators, and entrepreneurs the action steps for building a highly engaged email list, creating online training courses, and using online marketing strategies to sell with ease. She is one of our favorite people and what she has to say will blow your mind. Click here to download or listen to this episode now. Spiritual Foundations Is it possible to use peace as a weapon? I want to read for you a little passage of Scripture you’ve probably heard, even if you’ve never darkened the door of a church in your life. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.” – Psalm 23:4 Marketplace minister Os Hillman has a website called TGIF…Today God Is First. In one of his devotionals he says, “In battles of the workplace, your peace is actually a weapon. The workplace creates many opportunities to rob us of our peace.” He goes on to list things like cash flow, relationships, conflicts with employees, deadlines, and other things that create stress and disturb our peace. He points out that when Jesus confronted the devil, Jesus didn’t react from his emotions or out of fear because He knew that the devil is a liar. Jesus just refused to be influenced by the lie. His peace overwhelmed the adversary, His authority shattered the lie, and the forces of darkness were sent scurrying away to the corner to hide. Pretty cool insight. I really enjoy a lot of stuff that Os Hillman writes, so be sure to check out his site at TodayGodIsFirst.com. Tip of the Week Everything you touch ends up on your phone…I mean everything. So how do you keep your phone, and the other tech gadgets you use, clean and sanitary? I discovered the answer to this conundrum on a recent trip to the Apple store. I noticed they use a product called WHOOSH! to keep all the high-end products free from fingerprints and Lord knows what else has been on the hands of hundreds of people who visit that store daily. I figured if it’s good enough for Apple, it’s good enough for me. Pick up some WHOOSH! for your devices, because the alternative is just nasty. Feature Presentation: “The One With Amy Porterfield” Amy Porterfield is one of the most interesting women on the internet, maybe even on the planet. She started out her career working for Harley Davidson and ended up working with Tony Robbins. Now through her best-selling marketing courses (List Builder’s Lab, Courses That Convert, Webinars That Convert), a thriving Facebook community, and top-ranked podcast, Amy inspires a grounded, tangible and self-affirming sense of, “Wow! I really can do this,” for over 250,000 online entrepreneurs. She proves that by moving away from “step-by-step” and into “action-by-action,” even the newest online entrepreneurs can bypass feelings of self-doubt and being overwhelmed. Instead, they can generate exciting momentum as they move closer to building a life and business they love. Here are some snippets from our conversation: The Entrepreneurial Incubator – Why surrounding yourself with the kind of people you want to be like is the secret sauce to successfully starting a business (8:29) Burn the Boats – Amy shares the fastest way to turn a side hustle into the life of your dreams (10:31) One dollar can change the world – Amy tells the story of how Ray started writing copy for Tony Robbins, and the unusual strategy he used to write a killer sales letter (13:46) Trading one boss for many bosses – What to do if you wind up hating the business you start, and how to successfully get back on track (15:29) Authenticity will always have an audience – Amy shares the secret to overcoming your client’s biggest fears and writing copy that converts like crazy (17:40) The Power of Belief – If you don’t possess this one thing you’re going to lose the trust of your audience forever (20:32) Connection isn’t a one-time thing – Amy teaches us the extreme value in creating a follow-up sequence that is just a continuation of your webinar or sales process (21:54) You like me, you really like me! – Amy reveals the clandestine way to get inside your customer’s mind and feel like you’re talking to them directly (23:38) Selling after the sale – Why making the sale is just the beginning of your copy journey with your customers (24:25) Should you outsource your voice? – Why you need to become a student of copywriting…even if you plan on hiring a copywriter (26:02) Everything is copy – Why understanding the art and science of copy can improve everything from social media posts to your personal relationships (28:53) Resources Mentioned In This Episode Today God Is First WHOOSH! I have received a lot of feedback asking how the technical issues with the podcast are coming along. So, in this podcast, I will touch on the challenges and hurdles of this week’s interview. The reason for this is to give you a “behind the scenes” into my journey – and to demonstrate… it’s the journey that makes us better. The only way to get where you want to go, requires starting. A journey of 1,000 miles, starts with one step (sometimes that’s also a few trips and stumbles)…all of which make us better, wiser and stronger. The other common question is regarding my thoughts on this week’s interview. I will share my thoughts as well as looking forward to yours, so that I can include them in the take-aways, lessons learned, and inspiration of the week. It is my hope that you find this mid-week podcast – even more inspiration to make your dream a reality, and to be inspired to make a difference. As I have said many times, there are a lot of people who count on it! This week’s episode was my take on goal setting. From a coaching perspective… what works and what doesn’t, as well as some things to consider that you may not have. Please go to http://www.innernorthstar.com (www.innernorthstar.com) for more on my blog about what I consider the foundation of what it takes to start 2016 off righthttp://www.innernorthstar.com (.) This episode covers honesty with yourself, being present, eliminating the spirit limiting emotion of worry, the value of challenges, and the power of gratitude. Also as I mention in this podcast, I tried very hard to connect with Sylivia Vasquez-Lavado who is the founder of http://www.courageousgirls.org (Courageous Girls.org)http://http://courageousgirls.org/ (.) (Please check out the amazing work she is doing!) She works with girls once they have been rescued or escaped after being sold into human trafficking. We tried connecting while she was in Miami, Napal, and finally talked while she was at the airport in Chile. The sound quality was not what I wanted, as the topic of human trafficking is very important and I didn’t want to miss any of it due to a poor internet connection. As this title says, everything happens for a reason and I am going to devote weeks to this topic from many different aspects. So, I’m glad I had time to reflect on our conversation and the need to really cover it much more thoroughly. You will be hearing from her and others, soon! Once again… another unpredictable week! I hope you are enjoying the Holiday Season! Thank you for taking the time to listen! Thanks for Listening and Subscribing! Also, for my blogs (my take on every episode) go to: http://www.innernorthstar.com (www.innernorthstar.com) and receive my free eBook with my appreciation for joining the tribe! Do This ONE Thing To Crush It Every Day! - ITSA #033 Hey gang ... Thanks for tuning in to this episode of "In the Sales Arena"! We have a great show as we talk about the "one thing" we can do to make every day awesome and we are going to focus in on the part having a great attitude plays in how successful we are. I love this old quote by Zig Ziglar - "your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude"! I even do a lousy job of trying to imitate how Zig used to say that in his audio programs. I even say him live and heard him share this quoy=te as a young sales rep way back in 197?????. Who cares! I am going to share a number of ideas about how to develop, maintain and protect a positive attitude like: Practicing positive responses Understanding the principal of Garbage In-Garbage Out (als known as GIGO) and how important that is Being careful about who we hang out with and the influence that has one us But the "one thing" I have come to experience that can have the greatest influence on our attitude, and our lives, is getting in the habit of listing "The 10 Things I Am Thankful For". We spend a bit of time on this and I think you will get a lot out of listening to it but even more out of making a commitment to yourself to do it! Hope you enjoy it ... Listener Question of the Week - What do you think are the 3 biggest mistakes sales people make? Quote of the Week - Everything can be taken from a man but one thing:the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given circumstances, to choose one's own way! Viktor E. Frankl Have a great week gang! Jim Jacobus
