This week, Albertans were shocked to learn the province's chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw received a $227,911 Covid bonus, in addition to her $363,634 salary. This marks the largest cash benefit payout of any provincial civil servant. Plus, United Conservative Party (UCP) leadership candidate Leela Aheer took on an unlikely opponent this week – a raging bull! Aheer jumped in front of a bull and pushed it off a boy it was trampling at the Strathmore Stampede during the Running of the Bulls event. And UCP candidates share their vision for a provincial police force – a policy that has long been discussed as a means to give Alberta more autonomy. All but two candidates are in favour of the policy – Rebecca Schulz and Brian Jean. These stories and more on The Alberta Roundup with Rachel Emmanuel! Tune in now! On today's show, we chat with Sarah Hoffman, deputy leader of the NDP official opposition about Alberta's healthcare crisis and her party's criticism of Dr. Deena Hinshaw's bonus of almost $228K for COVID-19 work in 2021. Plus, we chat with Dr. Paul Parks, president of the emergency medicine section of the Alberta Medical Association about the pressure our healthcare system is under and if it can be fixed. And Canadian forces will now be training Ukrainian soldiers in the U.K. We chat with Andrew Rasiulis, a defence expert with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute about what that training mission might look like.
We begin with news that Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, received close to 230-thousand dollars in bonuses, above her salary in 2021. We get reaction to the payout from Duane Bratt, Professor of Political Science from Mount Royal University. Do you have a TV in your bedroom? If so, could that be the reason you feel chronically tired? We get the low down on if watching your favourite show in bed can have a negative impact on your sleep from Dr. Charles Samuels, Medical Director of the Centre for Sleep & Human Performance. Still on the topic of sleep, could it be that ‘napping' is bad for your health? We discuss new research on the topic that says that may just be the case. We get details on the study, from Dr. Ted Jablonski, our ‘on-call' family physician. Finally, we look at the importance of learning the art of ‘negotiating' at a young age. We speak with Angelique De Montbrun, a Mother, and Head of Marketing at financial education website “Mydoh.ca” who explains why she believes it's never too early to teach your kids the skill of negotiation.

UCP leadership candidate Leela Aheer tells us what was going through her mind when she jumped a fence to stop a postentially-deadly attack at the Strathmore Stampede. Trudeau's government censorship panel says, because of that, we are not legally a, quote, “qualified Canadian journalism organization” — or QCJO as they call it. That's a special legal term they've come up with. As the words plainly mean, it's government journalism accreditation. It's a government journalism licence. So, not only does that mean we're not allowed to attend government press conferences, it also punishes us under Income Tax Act. GUEST: Sheila Gunn Reid on the cross-examination of Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw.
We compare the arrest of Ontario MPP Randy Hillier with similar arrests and detentions in Europe. We can't help but notice a pattern of government intimidation against high-profile opponents of medical tyranny. John then previews his next column where he examines the wild claims of Jody Thomas, Prime Minister Trudeau's national security advisor, who claims that Freedom Convoy protestors wanted to "overthrow” the government. Guest: Steve McKinley, reporter in the Star's Halifax Bureau In a world where people are celebrated for what they do on screens, it makes sense that medical personnel were celebrated early on in the pandemic. With daily press conferences, some people like Dr. Bonnie Henry in British Columbia, Dr. Deena Hinshaw in Alberta or Dr. Horacio Arruda in Quebec got a lot of screen time and were recognized for their calm demeanours and knowledge about how best to deal with the pandemic. But as time has gone on, the messaging has changed. Canada's "celebrity" doctors are learning that fame can cut both ways with some having to take measures to ensure their personal safety

First off I just wanted to say, Andrew you sound like a politician at an ethics violation tribunal when the question “who is Rod” is asked. Haha, I get a good laugh when I hear a listener ask the same question, because I know Andrew just slipped on his ballerina shoes. Also, wanted to let Carmen know I've gotten into pressure canning. Purchased mine in Saskatoon, when I live in Edmonton and having it delivered from a friend that's driving down. That's called dedication. Andrew should take notes and dedicate a whole episode to Rod. The spirit of my nation's founding is alive and well amongst all Albertans who have fought and struggled to be free from a year and a half of dastardly deceit. What is now occurring in Alberta is a clinic for all Americans who seem to be forgetting how our nation was born. The glorious and timeless truth behind our founding grows fainter and fainter. It is being replaced by servile obedience to tyrannical treachery. We must snap out of this. Our creator, Christ Jesus, helps those who help themselves. His blessings and grace are boundless.Sometimes he works through ordinary individuals to get extraordinary things done. One such individual is an Albertan freedom fighter by the name of Pat King.Mr. King was recently a guest of the illustrious Stew Peters. In that appearance, he showed how to victoriously stand up against the devices of devious governments in court. The documents can be viewed here:2021-07-16 Originating Application - FiledThis is something we all can and MUST DO! This information must be spread throughout the world. We are very honored and pleased to have Pat King join us once again today on Americanuck Radio. Sometimes, it takes an Alberta man to set the world straight!Pat explains his journey to the present, including being served with a $1,200 fine for contradicting public health orders. He got his day in court, and as a self representative was able to subpoena Deena Hinshaw, public health officer of Alberta. She was the author of the public health act, so she was Pat's accuser. How delicious! He requested paperwork from Hinshaw showing isolation of sars cov-2 from Hinshaw, but they didn't have such documentation. Pete has them on record! That was the catalyst for the ensuing bombshell. The foundation has been laid for millions upon millions of people around the world to do the same thing. People who will no doubt find themselves in the same situation can come together to defeat the utter nonsense which has been foisted upon them.Pete is doing a fabulous service, but this won't work on the scale that is needed if multitudes don't stand with him.---------------Hour 2, segment 2:- This wonderful conversation with Pat continues on the bottom of the hour. Mike and Pat discuss the failed medical system, and all the drugs that are pushed on far too many people.Pat discusses how he has been harmed by this system, but he has since had his health truly revived...sans handfuls of drugs. He astutely points out the fact that MD's have become nothing but drug dealers. There has to be and end to the drama and division amongst all in Canada who want the same thing in the end. There doesn't have to be any friendship, but there can be unity under a common banner. The discussion also covers how every Canadian Premier and other leaders around the world are taking huge kickbacks for perpetrating the scam of Covid. The power of the mob is strong. These wannabe crowned heads should be frightened. The laws that have been designed to shield these demons will not protect them forever. The walls will come down. When those walls come down, it will be done in a peaceful manner. That is essential. The more people catch on, the closer we get to a precipice of the monumental change that is necessary for our peaceful survival. The wicked devils who are playing God with our lives will meet their maker one day. They will be judged upon their deeds on earth. This includes leaders, doctors, police officers, etc.....This is such an amazing hour, which must be heard IN FULL.DOWN WITH THE NWO!Find our more about Pat and his amazing work below:Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/real_patrick_king/BitChute:https://www.bitchute.com/video/CxYBFlyrapPL/

Alberta currently has the highest number of covid "cases" in North America, based on dubious PCR tests. The government uses these meaningless numbers to justify further violating the Charter rights and freedoms of citizens. Coincidentally (or not), the Justice Centre is in Alberta court challenging the lockdown, with the first two days of the trial of Pastor James Coates and GraceLife Church now concluded. In court, government did not produce any medical or scientific evidence to try to justify its Charter-violating lockdown measures; after 13 months of lockdowns the government isn't ready yet. As an added bonus, at the end of the podcast we replay John's Calgary rally speech from May 4.Truth Over Fear Summit II - restoretheculture.comCTV News, May 4, 2021: New Alberta COVID-19 restrictions to move schools online, close patios and limit outdoor gatherings to 5John Carpay in The Post Millennial, May 6, 2021: Kenney government misleads Albertans about COVID and lockdowns "Doctors say modelling projections have been extremely accurate to date..."City News, May 4, 2021: ICU, critical care docs pen letter to Kenney begging for action to curb COVID-19 spreadJustice Centre News Release, May 5, 2021: Alberta Government's own data shows hospital bed and ICU utilization at five-year lowToronto Star, May 2, 2021: It's got the highest COVID-19 rates in Canada — again. Through this pandemic, Canadians have become more familiar with their Chief Medical Officers of Health than ever before. How well do we understand their mandate? Where does their authority begin and end? What happens if elected officials ignore evidence-based advice? Former Alberta CMoH Dr. James Talbot pulls back the curtain, and evaluates the performance of Alberta's current CMoH Dr. Deena Hinshaw. Dr. Talbot also shares a couple stories of his own experience, including the move that ultimately led to his dismissal. Today is Yom HaShoah, otherwise known as Holocaust Remembrance Day. Stacey Leavitt-Wright, Dr. Colin Muscat, and Marnie Bondar gather for a powerful conversation about this horrific time in human history, and instances of anti-Semitism we see flaring up today. 12:36 - Dr. James Talbot 50:12 - Yom HaShoah Round Table
It was recently in the news that Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and his government were silencing doctors and health experts like Dr. Deena Hinshaw. This has also been suggested in Ontario, another conservative-run province. Manitoba, another conservative-run province, is one of the worst COVID hotspots in the world at the moment. Basically, the vast majority of provinces (and the vast majority of Canadians) are being governed by conservatives who are utterly bungling the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
As COVID cases continue to rise, so does the percentage of cases that can't be connected to a known source. Contact tracing has been a difficult task for health officials. Dr. Deena Hinshaw acknowledged and confirmed this week that the province is in its second wave of the virus. She said what happens in the future is in our hands. This week on The Loop, CBC reporter Robson Fletcher examines how effective Alberta's contact-tracing app has been since it launched six months ago. After a boom and bust, reporter Jamie Malbeuf looks at whether real estate in Fort McMurray could be taking a positive turn. Plus, The Loop producer Clare Bonnyman on how Edmonton seniors groups are adapting and preparing for the COVID winter season, and a Whitefish Lake First Nation artist channels personal inspiration into a Marvel comic contribution.
Emergency podcast for (sorta) emergency powers! With confusion running rampant in Alberta politics as to what powers the Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw possesses and how she can use them, we decided to get a legal opinion from a legal expert. Dr. Ubaka Ogbogu is an Associate Professor in the Faculties of Law and Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Katz Research Fellow in Health Law and Science Policy, at the University of Alberta who teaches, among other things, Public health law and policy. We caught up to him to get an accurate picture as to what Dr Hinshaw's powers are as well as to how she might have to navigate the use of them. We also try and put to rest (hopefully once and for all) the question of whether or not masks and limiting activities represent a legal overstep by governments, be they municipal, provincial or federal!
