Bright Suns! Throughout this year we have celebrated Disneyland's 70th Anniversary by looking at the nine lands of the park. And as the celebration continues in Anaheim, we continue our celebration here on Disney Insights. Today we look at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. This is perfect because this land especially references the last three film series in the larger trilogy. This week Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out ten years ago into the movie theaters. So much of that film and the two others that fall after it tie into the Black Spire Outpost of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. We're going to relive the opening of this themed land at Disneyland, talk about the similarities and differences to its twin at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and then share with you my top 7 Easter egg-style references to Star Wars within this land. Join us as we celebrate Star Wars Galaxy's Edge on Disneyland's 70th anniversary. _______________________________________________________ Disney Insights YouTube Page--Check it out and subscribe. We're spending a full day exploring Universal's Epic Universe to see if it really does live up to the hype. From the moment you step into Celestial Park, it's clear this isn't just another theme park — it's a massive leap forward in immersive storytelling, ride technology, and atmosphere. We break down each world we explored, starting with Celestial Park and its stunning design, headlined by the thrilling Stardust Racers coaster. From there, we jump through portals into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, where the colors pop, the energy is nonstop, and attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge and Mine-Cart Madness bring video games to life in a way we've never seen before.Next, we head into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, where the details are next-level. We talk about our days experience with the flagship attraction Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, plus Le Cirque Arcanus, a Cirque-style live show featuring magical creatures, aerial performances, and a story pulled straight from the Wizarding World. We also explore How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, covering rides like Hiccup's Wing Gliders and the live stage show The Untrainable Dragon, before ending in the darker, moodier Dark Universe, home to classic Universal Monsters and standout attractions like Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. We share what surprised us most, what worked, what didn't, and where Epic Universe fits into the future of Universal Orlando. If you're planning a visit — or just want to know if it's worth the hype — this episode has you covered.

From pre-race jitters to finish-line tears, this episode takes you through every moment of Wine & Dine Weekend with honesty, humor, and heart. Holly and Laura completed their first Half Marathons, Kate returned triumphantly after beating cancer, and Samantha paced and cheered her crew every step of the way. Along the journey, the group explored Disney dining favorites old and new, had hilarious expo moments, conquered early-morning wake-ups (and one late one!), celebrated Laura's birthday in style, and shared the kind of emotional and uplifting stories that remind us exactly why we love this Disney running community. Whether you're a seasoned runDisney veteran or thinking about your first race, you'll find inspiration, laughter, and plenty of Disney foodie goodness in this one.

Would you know our names, if you heard season eleven? We sure hope so, because we say them a lot on this episode of Baconsale! We're ending this year by reminiscing about topics and sharing inside jokes as we reached 500 episodes and beyond. Joel (who wears a cap) and Kent & Zack (who look so handsome) accomplished some big things this year, including a Disneyland vacation, a road trip to see Weird Al, and a live recording in front of a studio audience, so that's going to be brought up a lot. However, we'll also give some insights about the podcast, offer behind-the-scenes trivia, get nostalgic, boop each other on the back, add lettuce, and offer up too many honorable mentions. Jammies! Join the lads as they chat about: The Small World streaker, what rides they would streak on, Macy Thanksgiving conspiracies, Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway, Sneaking into Nara Dreamland (an abandoned Disneyland clone), working in the parks during the holidays, why Anaheim doesn't have the Jingle Cruise but Florida does, and much much more.
Send us a textWhat if your favorite Disney rides got a full holiday glow-up? We poured a Stroopwaffle bourbon coffee and went all-in on seasonal overlays, sketching out scene-by-scene makeovers that keep each attraction's DNA intact while layering in music, projections, scents, and plenty of festive chaos.First up, Space Mountain gets a “Santa's Galactic Delivery” sprint with sleigh-styled cars, poppy Christmas tracks timed to the lift, and rooftop chimney fly-bys racing past in the dark. Pirates of the Caribbean becomes a family holiday fever dream—relatives re-cast as pirates, cats in Santa hats, and a cheeky “Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Nog” soundtrack. Indiana Jones Adventure morphs into Eye of the Forbidden Nutcracker with toy soldier set pieces, Chip and Dale roasting chestnuts, a Santa-faced boulder, and snow effects that turn the dart room into a blizzard. We keep the momentum going with Autopia as a North Pole light drive—minimal changes, maximum magic—ideal for night rides under synchronized holiday lights. Expedition Everest reimagined as Expedition North Pole sets up a cozy Winter Wonderland climb that snaps into Sleigh Ride-speed mayhem with a Disco Santa Yeti. Toy Story Mania goes full Krampus Mania with playful, song-timed targets that make every pull hilariously mischievous. And because projections make quick work of seasonal swaps, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway turns into a charming Christmas Eve dash: shopping traffic, Daisy's dance party, a last-minute Pluto gift run, and a calm cruise home with a Santa-bearded Chuby. If you love Disney parks, Jollywood Nights, and smart seasonal overlays that deliver fresh thrills without heavy downtime, this one's for you. Hit play, then tell us which ride deserves a holiday makeover and the song you'd score it with. Subscribe, share with your park buddies, and leave a review to help more Disney fans find the show. Cheers to Ears—and cheers to Christmas at the parks!

Christmastime in the Disney parks is a wonder to behold, but its history is something even more magical than snow falling on Main Street. But there are a few less-than-magical things in Disney's holiday past as well.In this episode, we bring you 6 unique stories from the history of Disney at the most wonderful time of the year, beginning with a behind-the-scenes look at a Muppet Christmas Carol, a trip back in time to 1955 Disneyland at Christmastime, and even Walt Disney's unusual gift-giving preferences. Kirk takes us on a sweet tour of the history of Disney's gingerbread houses, Kate gives some magical context to a beloved parade character, and we both share some unique stories that we hope will bring a little extra wonder and joy to your holiday this year. Pamela Paul — longtime editor of the New York Times Book Review, author of nine books, current writer-at-large for the Wall Street Journal — tells Nancy and Sarah about her unceremonious exit from the New York Times, where she had been an Opinion columnist. What happened? Well, it's a long and juicy story, one that includes a J.K. Rowling column, a “lot of dishonesty and fear,” and an email dispatched in the middle of the night, a story that caused Nancy's and Sarah's jaws to literally drop. (It's on video!) Paul joined the Opinion section in 2022 to “create space for liberal opinions that had been snuffed out,” the thorny topics most journalists in 2020 were afraid to write about — and might still be. “It's really unsettling when an Opinion section is afraid of opinions,” says Paul. “You cannot pretend culture out of existence.”Also discussed:* How were things inside the New York Times in 2020? “Really awful.”* George Will, 2014: “Victimhood [as] a coveted status that confers privileges.” NYT 2020: “Hold my beer.”* “You've lost the room…”* We are not finished talking about the defenestrations of Times' James Bennett, Bari Weiss, Donald McNeil Jr….* New York Times readers are smarter than we give them credit for.* Props for Jesse Singal, Michael Powell, whoever Pamela's editor was at Opinion, whose stand-up-ness makes Nancy tear up* “The truth is a motherfucker.”Plus, tasty bits in the hotbox: a Disneyland for Netflix grown-ups, the 1000-page book about revenge and justice you should be reading, a new old-skool medical drama, and much more!Aren't you tired of the paywall yet? There ain't no such thing as a free lunch, at least that's what they tell me. Though it seems there may be a few free things at The Disneyland Resort. At least, included with your paid admission and parking. Buttons & park maps & stickers, oh my. The free gifts are endless, and possibly worthless. Don't kick a gift horse in the mouth though.
