Because the Disneyland Paris version is almost identical to the one in California, we add that Tower into the mix as well on this international Disney treasure hunt. Along the way, we share some rare Imagineering documents, discuss some never-created attractions, and explore the differences between this version and the one in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Kate discusses some connections to Walt's history found in the Tower, Kirk translates some German, and we both get a little confused by the Tower's commercial mascot from 2004 that doesn't quite fit the storytelling of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. When Shreesha Ramdas left Medallia after a $6.5B acquisition he decided it was time to reinvent.At his 4th startup Lumber, before writing a single line of code, he hired a sales person and ran 200+ interviews across the industry to understand the real pain points. The interviews gave Shreesha the insight that though payments were a problem, it was neither big enough nor urgent. But it was very difficult to hire workers, and even more difficult to retain skilled craft workers. In the U.S alone 41% of construction workers will retire in the next six years, leaving a massive gap in talent and experience. As a big believer in vitamin vs. painkiller, Shreesha is now building where the pain is deepest. We discuss what truly needs to happen before building a startup, the foundation that will shape everything that follows. No parcel of land at Disneyland has had more title changes than this little wedge of Disneyland. It's perhaps the smallest land in Disneyland, but it has a history that goes back to nearly the beginning. And it's a history few know much about. Most know it as Bayou Country today, and many know it as Critter Country, home to Splash Mountain. But before that it was Bear Country, and before that it went for some time not as Indian Country but as the Indian Village. We look at all four eras which include many well-known attractions, shops and eateries.
