Big Thunder Topic from Trammin' Episode 270We keep moving forward, even if we take a few steps back along the way. Disneyland announced what was coming next years ago, and months ago, and then again weeks ago. So here we are again, expected to believe what they say. But the plans are more concrete now. Dirt is being flung from shovels and rides are being closed down. Where is the Avatar experience going to start? Where will we enter Coco's underworld? This week, a new collaboration between Disney and Coke comes to Galaxy's Edge, international merchandise on DisneyStore.com, dining reservations are getting much easier, Oogie Boogie Bash ticket updates, a very special Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet offer, we finish our conversation with Jymn Magon, and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: The Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet is quickly approaching and we have some details and a special offer for listeners! The 2025 Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet will feature Disney legends Bob Weis, Tim Delaney, and John Musker. Attendees can look forward to themed photo ops celebrating Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The event will also offer meals inspired by Bengal BBQ and Skipper's Canteen. There will be expanded Disneyana vendors, cosplay with a parade and prizes, interactive games, pin trading, and trivia. This year marks the event's 15th anniversary, with special surprises planned throughout the weekend. Listeners can get 15% off tickets with promo code DLWEEKLY through July 12—or while tickets last. – https://pnwmousemeet.com/pnw_mouse_meets/2025/ Dining reservations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are getting better! A new, enhanced availability calendar allows guests to view all available reservations for a location. Guests can also search a date range to see all available reservations at all locations, and guests can sort based on preference, like specific time frames, and nearby locations. – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/disney-app-updates-make-booking-dining-reservations-easier/ As of July 1st, a popular attraction will no longer offer Lightning Lane. Pirates of the Caribbean is dropping support for the line reservation system, which should improve standby wait times, and the sprawl caused by the longer, slower moving standby line throughout New Orleans Square. – https://www.micechat.com/418015-disneyland-news-pirates-unplugged-leotas-legacy-bubble-bonanza/ Weeklyteers who want to attend this year's Oogie Boogie Bash still have a chance! Many of the party dates are still available as of the recording of this podcast. Weeklyteers in our Discord chat reported the process to get tickets this year was much easier than in the past. – https://www.micechat.com/418015-disneyland-news-pirates-unplugged-leotas-legacy-bubble-bonanza/ Last week, we spoke about Kim Irvine retiring from Disney. During her retirement party it was revealed that Kim and her mother, Leota Toombs, would be getting a window on Main Street. Getting a window on Main Street is one of the highest honors at Disneyland. The most recent new window on Main Street was for the Make-A-Wish foundation back in 2023. – https://www.micechat.com/418015-disneyland-news-pirates-unplugged-leotas-legacy-bubble-bonanza/ A couple of attractions have returned this week. Pixie Hollow, which has been behind construction walls for a long time has finally reopened with pixie meet and greets. The area is largely unchanged from the previous version, just freshened up. Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room also reopened this week, with the courtyard opening before the attraction. The tiki gods have all been refreshed, with Tangaroa being completely replaced with higher limbs. Inside, the attraction feels brighter, with new LED lightning, but some of the elements of the attraction are still not animated. – https://www.micechat.com/418015-disneyland-news-pirates-unplugged-leotas-legacy-bubble-bonanza/ A new collaboration is coming to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Disney has partnered with Coca-Cola to offer 30 specialty cans and bottles of Coke products for purchase, with 3 being only available at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Star Wars fans can collect their favorite icons, with shows and scenes from the movies, and TV. Fans can then scan cans, bottles, or street advertisements to unlock immersive AR experiences. You can also record a message of hope, inspiration, or encouragement, like a transmission that can be shared as a hologram-style video with your community. – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/new-coca-cola-collaboration-celebrates-star-wars-fans/ If you would like your very own tiki bird at home, the Garner Holt Foundation has an option for you. They have launched a Kickstarter campaign to provide animatronic songbird mini kits so Disney fans can make them at home. You can customize the bird, and program it to talk or sing. – https://www.micechat.com/417829-garner-holt-diy-animatronic-bird-kit/ Disney merchandise from Japan and China is unlike anything we have in the domestic parks. DisneyStore.com now has some of the merchandise from those locations online to purchase. Urupocha-chan plush from Japan, and plush releases from China and Japan are available now. There are a lot of other categories of merchandise coming from China and Japan as well. Check out the link in our show notes to see it all! – https://disneyparksblog.com/products/disney-store-japan-plush-and-keychains-coming-to-disneystore-com/ SnackChat: Finish drinks and cold brew reviews Discussion Topic: Jymn Magon – www.jymnmagon.com https://imdb.com/name/nm0536440

It's been nearly a year since the wake of D23 where we learned that the Rivers of America, the Liberty Belle, and Tom Sawyer Island would be changed out into a new off road Cars experience. The way we learned that news was troublesome--hiding it from the official D23 presentation. But even if they had been more transparent about it, it would still be hard to lose. I've come to terms as I've shared in previous podcasts what's working about what lies ahead for the Rivers of America. I think ultimately it will be a well-received set of experiences when it all comes together. But I couldn't help but be really melancholy about saying goodbye to the river for the last time. I'll share with you what went through my mind, and some of the really wonderful--even sweet memories I have from these attractions. I'll talk about what else is happening currently in both Liberty Square and Frontierland, particularly with the soft reopening of Hall of Presidents, and then I'll end with suggestions of where you can still find the spirit of this experience elsewhere--and it isn't at Disneyland. So stay with us as we bid adieu to The Rivers of America, the Liberty Belle and Tom Sawyer Island.

In this episode of Do The Work | Mindset Mastery, I open up about something that we all carry but rarely stop to dissect: guilt. It's sneaky. It creeps in during the quiet moments after long work weeks, during family decisions, and when we feel stretched too thin. This episode wasn't just about a spontaneous trip to Universal Studios with my daughters. It was about understanding how guilt can distort our memories, cloud our judgment, and keep us from truly being present. But more importantly, it was about choosing what to do with that guilt right now. Over the years, I've told myself stories. That I worked too much. That I wasn't present enough. That I didn't have patience. And while I believed those things, my daughters remembered something different. They remembered the volleyball practices. They remembered Disneyland. They remembered me showing them how to edit on their iPads. And it made me realize how powerful our own stories can be and how wrong we are when we let guilt rewrite our legacy. I almost let my own guilt steal an opportunity to create a powerful memory with my daughters. I almost passed on a trip that turned into one of the best experiences we've had together. The reality is, we work hard to earn that flexibility, but if we don't take action in the present, guilt will always convince us we don't deserve it. This lesson isn't just for home it applies to business too. Guilt from not following up. Guilt from not posting. Guilt from not showing up strong for your clients. We sit in that space and call it accountability, but accountability without action is just self-punishment. You say you take responsibility but then what? What are you doing right now to change it? It's time to stop looking back at where we fell short and start doing something right here, right now. One call. One text. One post. One moment of presence. That's where expansion begins. And when you take that action now, it doesn't just shape your future. It transforms your past and your present too. Expansion grows every way, not just forward. The guilt doesn't have to weigh you down if you're willing to move. Ask Yourself What guilt have you been holding onto that's slowing down your growth or happiness? What is one action you can take today to move forward in your business or relationships? How might your story change if you stopped focusing on what you didn't do and started acting on what you can do now? Notable Quotes “We can all feel belittled by what we have. Or we can just think about what we can do right now to get a little closer to that bigger vision.” “Time doesn't necessarily mean quality. You don't have to sabotage one or the other. You can do both.” “Accountability without action is just self-punishment.” Follow A.Z. Araujo on Social Media: Instagram: @azaraujo Facebook: A.Z. Araujo TikTok: A.Z. Hidden under layers of dust and cobwebs, the objects on the Concierge Desk of the Tower of Terror have their secrets, scandals, and connections to the Twilight Zone that most people completely miss. In this episode of Distory with Kate & Kirk, we check into the lobby of the Hollywood Tower Hotel to uncover what secrets have been decaying before us right in plain sight at the Concierge Desk. After discussing the history of fedoras, phones, and ink blotters, we meet a Disney baroness and make a connection between the lamp and a difficult painting technique also featured in Disneyland. Kate discusses scandalous celebrity relationships, Kirk sits in the most uncomfortable chair ever, and, after naming several of the antiques in the area, we are finally ready to pick up our (purposefully creepy) suitcases and depart from the Concierge Desk. Have you ever wondered what separates manufactured experiences from authentic adventures? Fresh from spinning teacups and crowded pathways at Disneyland with my adult son, I found myself contemplating the profound difference between engineered entertainment and the raw reality of motorcycle journeys through wild places.Disneyland stands as a marvel of imagination and customer service—a meticulously crafted illusion where every detail from the synchronized parades to the impossibly clean streets creates a seamless fantasy world. We pay a premium for this predictability, knowing exactly where our next thrill will come from and confident in our safety throughout. It's entertainment perfection by design.Contrast this with throwing a leg over an adventure motorcycle and heading into the Colorado Rockies, where nothing is choreographed and everything is gloriously unpredictable. Weather changes in minutes, dusty trails transform unexpectedly, and real challenges emerge without warning. Yet it's precisely these unscripted moments that deliver the deepest rewards—a profound sense of self-reliance, genuine connection with nature, and the meditative clarity that comes only when we're fully present. While Disneyland offers instant gratification, motorcycle journeys offer transformation. This isn't about declaring one experience superior to another—my time bonding with my son at Disneyland was genuinely precious. Rather, it's about recognizing that different journeys serve different purposes in our lives. Sometimes we need the fantasy and escape of perfectly engineered experiences. But for those seeking genuine transformation, perhaps the happiest place on earth isn't found where everything goes according to plan, but rather where the pavement ends and the wild begins. What kind of adventure are you seeking next?Support the show

Saying “I can't” sounds controlled. Saying “I won't” sounds unstoppable. In this episode, I explore the life-changing difference between the two, teaching teens how to own their values with power and confidence, whether it's about religious standards, digital discipline, or resisting peer pressure. This episode gives teens the tools to stop sounding limited and start standing tall.

Ever wondered why your feed is filled with extreme transformations and diet challenges? In this candid conversation, we pull back the curtain on social media algorithms that reward controversy while burying genuinely helpful health content. The discussion takes a fascinating turn as we explore the phenomenon of fitness influencers presenting carefully curated physiques. From strategic lighting and posing to the unspoken truth about performance-enhancing substances, we break down why so many "natural" fitness personalities aren't being entirely honest about their methods. This deception becomes particularly problematic when these same influencers sell programs without disclosing the real story behind their results. We tackle the delicate balance between pursuing health and actually enjoying life. Drawing from a Ricky Gervais perspective, we question whether extreme optimization is worth sacrificing life's pleasures. Are you truly living if you're bringing meal prep containers to Disneyland just to maintain your physique? Our hosts share personal experiences from both sides of this spectrum – from obsessive optimization to finding a sustainable middle ground where health enhances rather than restricts. The conversation doesn't shy away from criticizing problematic content like extreme weight loss challenges that essentially recreate "The Biggest Loser" format with its known unsustainable approaches. We discuss why these methods get millions of views while realistic, sustainable approaches often go unnoticed.Throughout it all, we emphasize the importance of nuance in health discussions – something increasingly rare in a social media landscape that rewards binary thinking. Whether discussing weight management, fitness approaches, or supplement use, we advocate for thoughtful consideration of the complex trade-offs involved in all health decisions.Join us for this thought-provoking episode that might just change how you view your social media feed and your approach to health and fitness. I discuss the possibility of one of the Sister Wives appearing on a dating show and reveal that Sukiyana has landed a new gig with TLC after her impressive performance at the reunion.
