Wir haben es uns Ende 2023 mit Nils von Rising Brands in der Rorschach Bar gemütlich gemacht. Nils ist quasi unser verlorener Bruder, hat unseren Podcast über Dexy gefunden und seitdem ist er treuer höher. Ganz nebenbei ist der junge Mann aus Hamburg bestens vernetzt in der Barszene und repräsentiert inzwischen unter anderem die Whiskys aus dem Hause Douglas Laing. Hello! Welcome to this 40th episode of the NATA PR SCHOOL podcast. I have the great pleasure of welcoming Pascal Desjardins, president and founder of BELLA VITA INTERNATIONAL, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary and has worked with us for almost 10 years. He worked in the world of traditional media (TV, radio) for many years before creating Bella Vita International, an importer and distributor of exceptional fine products, including wines, spirits, cosmetics and home products. Auch in dieser Folge haben wir Besuch. Tilo Schnabel ist unter den Whiskyliebhabern auf Facebook und in diversen Foren kein Unbekannter. Was vor einigen Jahren mit Teilungen von Raritäten als privates Hobby begannt, ist nun zu einem richtigen Gewerbe geworden. Tilo hat den Schritt vom Hobby zum Abfüller gewagt und erzählt uns, was in den letzten beiden Jahren passiert ist, wie es neben seinem eigentlichen Beruf funktioniert, Flaschen zu labeln, verpacken und zu verschicken und die ein oder andere Story mehr. Wir haben Tilo ein paar Leckerchen zugesandt, die wir mit ihm verkosten. Darunter der Benrinnes 16 DL aus unserem Winter-Sample-Set, ein 20 Jahre alter Ben Nevis von The Single Malts of Scotland und natürlich eine Flasche von Tilos Abfüllungen - Croftengea 14 aus der Loch Lomond Brennerei. Jetzt reicht es aber dann auch erst einmal mit LL. Wir haben kurz überlegt, die Folge zu splitten, haben uns aber aufgrund der bevorstehenden Feiertage dazu entschieden, Euch die vollen 3 Stunden zu geben. Wir wünschen Euch und Euren Familien nun schon einmal ein besinnliches, friedliches und gesundes Weihnachtsfest. Genießt das gute Essen, trinkt guten Whisky und ladet die Akkus wieder auf. It's been a while since the pair had an independent bottler on the padcost so it was important to bring in some independent bottling royalty. Enter: Cara Laing, Director of Whisky at Douglas Laing. Independent bottling isn't always the glamorous thing people perceive it as. Sometimes, scratch that, most of the time you're dealing with headaches surrounding dry goods, 3rd party warehousing, and label typos.So, as usual, have a seat, have a pour, and listen in. For some, the craft of whisk(e)y begins with the discovery of an exciting mash build that can be distilled and aged to perfection. Douglas Laing, however, expresses their passion by purchasing some of the finest and most rare barrels of single malt and single grain scotches to bottle and sell to consumers. Family-owned businesses often face obstacles that other companies don't, and the whisky business is no exception. This week, Fred and Stewart Laing dissolved their 40+ year partnership in Glasgow-based Douglas Laing & Co., with Stewart taking his half of the business to form his own company with his sons.
