We Nose Noses
Can My Teeth Cause Sinus Problems?

We Nose Noses

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 11, 2024 10:31

The Surprising Connection Between Teeth and Sinus Issues Did you know that your teeth and sinuses are more connected than you might think? In this episode of We Nose Noses, Dr. Reddy and Dr. Smith break down how sinus problems can masquerade as dental issues—and vice versa. Find out why tooth pain might actually be a sinus problem, how age plays a role in this connection, and what the experts do to diagnose and treat these confusing cases. Whether you're dealing with unexplained tooth sensitivity or curious about how dental implants can affect your sinuses, this episode is packed with insights you won't want to miss. What you'll learn: How the proximity of your upper teeth to your sinuses can blur the line between dental and sinus problems. The diagnostic tools, like nasal endoscopy and imaging, that help pinpoint the true cause of your discomfort. Why dental implants might lead to sinus issues and how to address them. Subscribe now to We Nose Noses for more ENT and Plastic Surgery insights or schedule a consultation with our team to get expert advice on your dental and sinus concerns. Call us at 609-710-NOSE (6673) or visit our website, njent.com to learn more.  https://njent.com/can-my-teeth-cause-sinus-problems/

When you hear a ring, does that mean people are talking about you? Langston and David sit down with Dulcé Sloan (The Daily Show, The Great North) about this southern superstition. The guy, along with "The Minneapolis Uno Champ" discuss it's origin as well as sniffin' those you love (Looking at you, Plies!) . We constantly drift from the topic, but we come back plenty of times and revisit the chaos. Is it an infection? Is it an allergy? Is it from smoking? You have throat drainage and you don't know what's causing it.According to The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, Glands in your nose and throat continually produce mucus (one to two quarts a day). Mucus moistens and cleans the nasal membranes, humidifies air, traps and clears inhaled foreign matter, and fights infection. Although it is normally swallowed unconsciously, the feeling of it accumulating in the throat or dripping from the back of your nose is called post-nasal drip. This sensation can be caused by excessively thick secretions or by throat muscle and swallowing disorders.Listen in as Steven Lyon, MD explains that often times throat drainage can be caused by an underlying ENT issue.
