Anacron is an award-winning and published recording artist, Senior level certified Experiential Educator, and 2018-appointed United States Cultural Ambassador from Los Angeles, California. As a pre-teen jazz prodigy, Anacron studied at Alexander Hamilton Music Academy and Interlochen Center For The Arts before receiving recognition from the Charles Dolo Coker Foundation. By high school, he became an established contributor to L.A.'s seminal mid-1990's cultural movement of Underground Hip Hop, which he pivoted directly into a college study adjacent professional career in the music industry. Over the following decade, he produced dozens of recordings and projects, toured internationally, and was awarded by major media outlets like MTV for original songs featured in film, television, and video games. Early on, Anacron accepted the responsibility of sharing his knowledge and experience with adult and youth musicians and scholars through various avenues of education, including a decade-long tenure at Chicago's prominent Old Town School of Folk Music. Looking to supplement his industry experience with traditional learning, he enrolled in UCLA's Music Business Studies program, where he graduated with honors in 2012. While studying at UCLA, he was introduced to experiential education by way of an emotional intelligence focused ropes course program, instantly developing an interest and passion to parallel his longtime love of music. Taking a hiatus from music to concentrate solely on Experiential Learning, Anacron lent half a decade to training, practice, and formal certification of his skills in conference-, retreat-, and wilderness-based facilitation. Upon becoming a Lead Facilitator for UCLA's Experiential Education program, he branched out to other University of California campuses, working to Primary, then Senior Lead status, while operating and growing as a program facilitator and practitioner certifications trainer for top experiential learning and adventure firms in Southern California and beyond. Anacron's consideration of client needs and assessments, robust practical knowledge and experience, and careful attention to details, paired with a serious and forthright, yet understanding and fun facilitation style, lends to expert delivery of uniquely customized learning and growth experiences. Most recently, Anacron's music industry and experiential learning experience came together with his nomination and esteemed appointment as a United States Cultural Ambassador, internationally sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Currently, Anacron is a sought after and highly regarded ACCT-certified Senior Lead Facilitator, Curriculum / Program Designer, and Certification Trainer for the highest-rated Experiential Education firms, university programs, and training providers across the nation. Also, as a musician, curator, and executive, he maintains his original love of music; continuing to produce his own and other creator's musical projects, while regularly traveling for artistic and educational endeavors alike.

This week we are joined by Hip Hop MC and Producer Big Shamu to discuss Paul Vehovan's Classic Scifi Actioner Starship Troopers.  We are Talking Bicycle Infantry, Monsters rejected from Tremors 2 and why you don't want an Asteroid to head to earth. --- Check out Big Shamu on Spotify at This here link and support him when his new album hits in Spring. --- Starship Troopers is a 1997 American military science fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven and written by Edward Neumeier, based on Robert A. Heinlein's 1959 novel of the same name. The story follows a young soldier named Johnny Rico and his exploits in the Mobile Infantry, a futuristic military unit. Rico's military career progresses from recruit, to non-commissioned officer, and finally to officer, against the backdrop of an interstellar war between mankind and an insectoid species known as Arachnids. The only theatrically released film in the Starship Troopers franchise, it received mostly negative reviews from critics upon release; however, it has received a more positive reception in retrospect, with many critics highlighting the film's political satire.[3] It grossed $54.5 million in the U.S., and a total of $121.2 million worldwide, against a budget of $105 million.[2] In 1998, the film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 70th Academy Awards. In 2012, Slant Magazine ranked the film #20 on its list of "The 100 Best Films of the 1990s".[4]

Hello and welcome to episode 35 of Sing! Dance! Act! Thrive!Today’s guest is widely considered one of Toronto’s Hip Hop legends, Solitair’s many contributions have made an indelible impact on the Canadian urban music landscape, and the music industry as a whole. In 1999, at the age of 23, Solitair made his mainstream musical debut on Choclair’s first major label album, ‘Ice Cold’, producing 4 songs and featured on several others. The album went Gold (50,000 units sold) in less than 30 days. Though he saw great success in his previous releases, Solitair’s breakout came in 2001 when he released two iconic Canadian Hip Hop songs: “Bakardi Slang” by Kardinal Offishall - produced by Solitair with his unique style combining island music sensibilities with Hip Hop’s gritty urban soundscape and ‘Easy to Slip’ by Solitair - a song he wrote as an ode to fallen friends, which continues to be hailed as one of Canada’s greatest Hip Hop songs and received a Juno nomination for Best Rap Recording. As Solitair came into prominence as a highly sought after producer, he worked on albums by a number of Canadian heavyweights, including: Choclair, Kardinal Offishall, Jully Black, k-os, Maestro Fresh Wes’ and The Rascalz. With Kardinal, he has travelled the world performing as part of his world renowned stage show.In 2014 Soliair and three other producers partnered up on the recording studio, 4Sound Media. Since taking the reins, he’s been recording, mixing, mentoring, and collaborating with many of Hip Hop's most talented emerging artists, and continues to work on adding more great songs to his musical legacy. After 20-years in the music industry, Solitair gives back to the community of Toronto by speaking to at-risk youth in high schools and has recently been working with F-You: The Forgiveness Project who are working with young men currently serving time in the Canadian prison system. With the founder of the F-You project, Tara Muldoon, Solitair is working on a podcast and that is how I came to meet this wonderful talent and invited him on the show. For links & transcript visit http://singdanceactthrive.com/035 It was so great to hear from Solitair, he is so nice and humble. I am a big fan of our Canadian hip hop pioneers and Kardinal and Maestro are also on my list of artists that I have to get on the show this year. I’ve met Kardinal quite a few times and he is also very nice and humble. Oh and Michee Me, I met her before too…oh maybe this is my new thing. I’ll call out people I want on the show on the show. That week's commentary focused on the finale of the 2nd OJ Simpson trial and why the Black American community could more or less not care about his sentencing due to being arrogant and non-thinking, how Black American athletes were not having a good week (Plaxico Burress, etc.), the passing of Hip-Hop MC and D.I.T.C. member Party Arty and some other things. We also had an interview this week on the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with documentary director Kevin Booth of "American Drug War: The Last White Hope" (http://www.AmericanDrugWar.com). Some topics covered in our talk include some of the history of the Drug War in America, some of the unfairness that's in the legal system for those who do illegal drugs (long prison terms, little rehabiltation programs for those who need them, racial and economic disparities with those arrested, etc.), what made some drugs illegal and some not in the eyes of the government, the ways the documentary was completed both on the record and undercover ways and some other interesting things. John Conyers (Democrat - Michagan) is trying to pass through the U.S. Congress called HR848, that if it passes, will have various NEW music costs are passed on to all sorts of FM radio station owners, with the high possibility that great deal of Black-owned Radio Stations (and just regular radio station period) to shut down due to various economic issues. **TO LISTEN OR DOWNLOAD SEE THE END OF THE SHOW DESCRIPTION!** On this hardcore episode: Pete Rock joins us for a superb feature-length interview exploring the making of his new projects with DJ Premier, Smif N Wessun and Camp Lo, plus his forthcoming aspirations to work with Eminem, his contribution to Kayne and Jay Z's album, as well as a track called 'The Joy' which didn't make Kayne's album and his desire to be part of The Four Horsemen project. We take time to hear the amazing creative process behind his forthcoming on wax battle with DJ Premier, with neither producer hearing what each other has contributed to the album until it is pressed. As focused and heart-warming as you would expect from such a legendary pioneer, Pete Rock also discusses how many beat he has submitted to Shady Records, his future work with the recently-released Prodigy, the reason for his initial dislike for Kayne West, being disillusioned by the direction hip hop took in the late 90s and the prospect of a new Pete Rock & CL Smooth album. A true classic. We are joined by heroes, Zumbi (Zion-I) and The Grouch (Livin' Legends) in this healer of an interview, putting you the listener into reflection in a feature length interview driven by positivity, illumination and above all hope. In perhaps one of our most positive and enlightening interviews to date, Zumbi and Grouch discuss their new album Heroes In The Healing Of The Nation and its universal affect and goals, the power of spirituality, their musics core message, world events and their relationship with eating healthy and hows it has changed their approach to creating records. Your healing starts here! Mayhem Lauren spreads the studio with a self-induced sickness, proving he is by far one of the sickest lyricists doing it right now! We discuss forthcoming material, collaborations, his work ethic, viral presence, videos and a brand new forthcoming ep with Statik Selektah and more! Meanwhile Dr Lecter aka Action Bronson plays the role of doctor, breaking down the long list of forthcoming drugs he has for your ears before leaving with a doctors note of advice with Mayhem for budding porn-directors, as well as dropping one of the shows best acapellas in recent memory. Will we hear a collaboration with Action Bronson and Ghostface Killah in the not too distant future? Find out in this epic interview! Camp Lo sway into the studio to talk about their new album 80 Blocks From Tiffanys, a full length album alongside the legendary Pete Rock.As uplifting as you;d imagine, this interview personifies Camp Lo's musical flamboyance and simply whets the appetite of creative hip hop lovers worldwide. Who will they feature on the album? Which artists are they set to collab with soon? Listen for the answers... The Lady Of Rage is late for the interview. She's late for the interview for good reason though - she was in the hair salon having her hair done. When she does arrive we discuss her brand new album "Verbal Abuse" scheduled for a summer 2011 release, production handled 95% by the master DJ Premier, as well as taking a heart-felt look at her career including her time at Death Row Records, her relationship with Suge Knight and Dr Dre and her contribution to the book "How To Rap: The Art and Science of the Hip-Hop MC" Keith Murray comes onto the show to discuss his new album and forthcoming mixtape "Live Like Your Dying", stressing the importance of making the most of every single day. We talk the future of Erick Sermon, the brand new EPMD album and mixtape, the hardships of the industry and more in this perfect capture of a man with so much passion for the art of hip hop. Keith takes time out to stress the importance of The Undergods including their history, his relationship with Canibus and their new album "In Undergods We Trust Crush Microphones To Dust" set for release on May 31st.Also we hear about Keith Murray's new grundge band Spontaneous Combustion, a group where Keith will be harmonizing for the first time in his career. Life imitates art. Stop...Sledge Hammer time is here! Metabeats and Mudmowth haven't dreamt themselves into becoming two of the UK's leading elite artists that they are, but rather have sledge-hammered and forged themselves into this. Using a DIY ethos and back to basic formula, Metabeats and Mudmowth have created one of the most masterful built project in recent times, nailing competition and hammering it with ease. In this investigative inside-look interview, we are joined by producer of Sledgehammer Kisses, Metabeatz live from his workshop to find out about his latest creation and its craftmenship as well as future releases including an upcoming Squid Ninjaz album and a Dark House Fam project. Head over to the workshop that Mayor built at http://www.associatedminds.com to purchase Sledgehammer Kisses and previous releases from Meta and Mud. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! BONUS PODCAST FOOTAGE! Kool Keith joins us live from a food outlet to discuss all of the fake profiles that exist on Facebook claiming to be the real Black Elvis. We talk about his awareness of Lil B and his new music but then settle in to a long exploration of the necessities for unique eating patterns. Eggs with fish on the top, kebabs, eating deers and refrigerator content - its all here in this space age time warp of an interview. Is Lil B from Paris? Enjoy our sweat! This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of May 13, 2009 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary. This week's commentary focused on the absurd bill that Rep. We talked about the potential impact this could have culturally in the U.S. for not just the Black Community, but for the music community at large from music artists, to listeners and others. We also had a great interview with independent Hip-Hop MC, producer, graphic artist & activist Ravage the MeccaGodzilla (http://www.ravagenrumble.com). We covered everything from Ravage's influences, being one of the founders of G.A.ME (the Grassroots Artists MovEment) in NYC, his history with the music industry from being a member of the supercollective Monsta Island Czars (MF Doom, MF Grimm, etc.) and beyond, Ravage's vision of the growth of Hip-Hop & where it needs to go, his latest album project (the "Erroars" production LP) & upcoming music situation, the international scene and more! We do have a new Black Agenda Report segment but no new Direct EFX segement this week. This is the FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of December 10, 2008 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul music, news and commentary. This week's commentary was on the finale of the 2nd OJ Simpson trial and why the Black American community could more or less not care about his sentencing due to being arrogant and non-thinking, how Black American athletes were not having a good week (Plaxico Burress, etc.), the passing of Hip-Hop MC and D.I.T.C. member Party Arty and some other things. We also had an interview this week on the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with documentary director Kevin Booth of "American Drug War: The Last White Hope" (http://http://americandrugwar.com/). We do not have new Direct EFX and Black Agenda Report news segments on this week's broadcast due to our interview.
