Have a good journey!

Diagnosed with endometriosis at age 19, Marche was told she would probably never have babies. It was the early 2000s, post women's liberation and even when Marche found herself expectedly pregnant she considered termination. Before she could decide what she wanted to do, Marche was incorrectly diagnosed with a blighted ovum, and told she'd miscarry. About to start grad school and ridden with grief, Marche took abortifacients, only to find out the day after that she'd been incorrectly diagnosed. A thorough look into Marche's health history and the ways she was victimized by the medical industry, sets the backdrop for how she became the perfect consumer of the fertility industry. Marche details the dehumanization she experienced during the IUI/IVF process, the tens of thousands of dollars down the drain, the evisceration of love between she and her husband during this time, and how she ultimately shifted her perspective from seeing her attempt to rent her best friend's womb as camaraderie, to the unjustifiable utilization and commodification of women's bodies. ASK CAROLINA ANYTHINGToday, we'll be discussing a topic that many people face in their journey towards parenthood, the heartbreak of failed IUI or IVF attempts. It's a difficult situation to be in, and one that can feel isolating and overwhelming. In this episode, we'll offer some guidance on how to move forward when things don't go as planned.Firstly, it's essential to take time to sit with your emotions and share them with your partner or a trusted friend or therapist. It's okay to feel sadness, anger, or disappointment. Don't try to push these feelings away or minimize them. Instead, give yourself permission to feel them fully. One helpful tool that can aid in this healing process is a reiki womb blessing. This treatment allows your womb to relax, harmonize emotions, and release any residual energy stuck in the uterus and pelvis.Discuss next steps with your partner and doctor. Ask why the procedure failed to see if there is any clarity to be gained. Ultimately, it's important to always listen to your intuition or inner voice. Trust that you know what's best for you and your journey towards parenthood. If you're facing the heartbreak of a failed IUI or IVF attempt, know that you're not alone. I love getting your questions for Ask The Egg Whisperer. In this episode, Shereen from the Middle East sent in a great question. Here's what she want's to know, "What is your advice for women over 40 who are undergoing hormone induction and probably will do IUI/IVF vs COVID vaccine?  Is it advisable to get the vaccine if a woman has future plans to have kids? Thanks, and God bless." My recommendation is get the vaccine. I want all my patients to be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means is that they have had their second shot. If they're doing the two shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you will want to have that second shot two weeks before their embryo transfer, and it's the same thing with doing an IUI. That's what I recommend.  Tune in to hear my answer, and 9 other questions from listeners and followers. In this episode, I share my fertility journey, from iui to IVF to ultimately accepting childlessness.TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODEEvery woman's fertility journey is deeply personal. Many times women don't share about their fertility journey because there is a lot of shame and embarrassment around infertility. If you know someone going through infertility, the ONLY thing to do is to ask how you can support them. Please don't offer advice or opinions unless specifically asked for. There is an ‘X factor' to manifestation. Sometimes you can do everything right in manifesting a dream and the universe will still say, “This is not for you. Not right now.” When that happens, the only thing to do is surrender and move forward. For women going through IVF, here is our method for surviving progesterone shots:Warm up the syringe under your armpit while warming up your hip with a heating pad. After administering the shot, massage the area with a tennis ball. SONGS IN THIS EPISODE:“Seventeen” - Bang Sugar BangThank you so much for listening!

Why The Conventional Approach To Endo Can Waste Time

Get Pregnant Naturally

Dr. Amy Day joins us today as we're digging into how to get pregnant naturally with endometriosis. Endometriosis affects approximately 175 million women in the world and 1 in 10 women in their reproductive years. It can take anywhere from 6-10 years to get an endometriosis diagnosis – so many women struggle and are simply told, “that it’s just a bad period”. March is endometriosis awareness month. As you may know, we specialize in complex cases such as low AMH, high FSH, premature ovarian insufficiency, and diminished ovarian reserve. Many women with endometriosis have low AMH and they are told that IVF is their only option. This conventional medicine approach leaves couples that are trying to conceive frustrated and unsure of their next steps – especially if they have experienced IUI/IVF failures. What we know from working with clients with endometriosis is that healing opportunities are regularly missed…it’s not about focusing on the endo diagnosis it’s looking at the WHOLE body. What if there was a proven method to reduce endometriosis symptoms and get pregnant naturally? I’m excited to welcome Dr. Amy Day to the podcast. Dr. Day is a hormone expert, an author, and a speaker. She has been at the forefront of the natural women’s health movement since 2004 after receiving the 4th ND license in the state of California. In this episode you'll learn: 1) The conventional approach to endo versus the functional approach.. (i.e. surgery, birth control, and more). 2) The biggest mistakes around diet and endo 3) Why regulating blood sugar can be helpful for endo symptoms 4) How to minimize environmental toxin exposure and why this matters if you have endo. 5) Is endo always estrogen dominance?   Take the free quiz - Why Am I Always Tired - https://replenishyourenergy.com/quiz   TIMESTAMPS: 05:02- INTRO TO TODAY'S EPISODE AND DR. Brandy Buskow joins us today as we are digging into DUTCH 101 and what it means for fertility. You may have been told that your hormones are imbalanced and that your only option is IUI/IVF. Or that you have poor egg health, low AMH, diminished ovarian reserve, premature ovarian insufficiency and that there is nothing that can be done to optimize your fertility – so donor eggs are your only answer. But do you know WHY there is an imbalance? When we address the stressors in your body such as food sensitivity, gut infections, environmental toxin exposure, mental emotional stress, thyroid imbalance, blood sugar imbalance the body begins to heal. Because if your body is under attack it wants to survive not procreate. As part of our Fab Fertile Method we include functional testing (i.e. food sensitivity, hormone, stool and hair) so that we can develop a customized protocol to help prepare your body for a baby. When we myopically look at our egg health, hormones or focus entirely on our infertility diagnosis, we miss crucial healing opportunities. The DUTCH test is one of our favourite functional tests. It looks at your hormones using urine and provides an extensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones, melatonin along with their metabolites. I'm excited to welcome Brandy Buskow back to the podcast. Brandy is part of my team here at Fab Fertile. She is our Clinical Advisor and an integral part of our Couples Coaching program - which uses functional lab testing, diet and lifestyle changes to dramatically improve conception. If you are struggling with infertility...your body is desperately trying to tell you something...focusing on your health will either help you get pregnant naturally or if you do need to go to the fertility clinic it will improve your chances of success. She is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and Certified Transformational Health Coach and EFT Practitioner. In this episode you'll learn: 1) What it means when your melatonin is low and the connection to gut health. Why continuing to supplement without correcting the root cause doesn’t work. 2) What your cortisol (stress hormone) means for fertility and steps you can take right now. Especially important if you have been under chronic stress. 3) We discuss estrogen dominance (PMS, anxiety, anger, bloating etc.) how the DUTCH test helps to give us clues for healing. 4) We dig into low estrogen (which may be the case for low AMH, high FSH, low ovarian reserve…BUT may not be the case for all women with this diagnosis). How the DUTCH test goes deeper and shows us what is actually happening with estrogen levels. Why supplementing with DHEA for low ovarian reserve may not be the best option. Follow along as we review the DUTCH test. Download the DUTCH we discuss during the podcast. --- TIMESTAMPS 06:25- BRANDY'S BIO 08:10- WHAT IS THE DUTCH TEST? What do the numbers mean? In episode 89, I interview Naturopath, midwife, and women's health expert, Dr. Jennifer Mercier. We talk about the hands-on therapy she developed to help women struggling with infertility and pelvic health issues. Mercier Therapy is a deep pelvic organ visceral manipulation technique that can help restore normal anatomy and blood flow in the pelvis. This can have a profound effect on menstrual cycle health, ovarian function and hormone production, which encompass many of the underlying causes of trouble conceiving. Clinically, Mercier Therapy has been shown to be effective in addressing endometriosis, diminished ovarian reserve, luteal phase defect, PCOS, recurrent miscarriage, and several other issues. It can either be used as a standalone therapy or in preparation for IUI/IVF and it’s proven incredibly successful in achieving pregnancy, even in difficult cases. In this episode, you'll learn: What women need to know about conventional fertility treatment options that are often not shared by doctors What led her to the creation of Mercier Therapy as a possible solution to fertility struggles How Mercier Therapy works and the specific issues or conditions it can help address Mercier Therapy success rates in comparison to mainstream fertility treatments and how it can also be used in preparation for IUI or IVF How to find a practitioner trained in Mercier Therapy if you’re interested in exploring it yourself You can find show notes for the episode and links to Dr. Mercier's website and documentary at https://tinyfeet.co/my-podcast/89. Today I speak with Mia Mancuso, Registered Nurse, Breathwork space holder, Accountability Coach for the Gray Area Drinker and a proud silver-haired (yep, it’s real) teetotaling broad. Studies have found even drinking as few as 4 alcoholic drinks per week - decreases IVF live birth rate. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4487775/ Alcohol has been shown to decrease the quality, quantity, and motility of sperm. It takes 90 days for the egg to renew and the life cycle of the sperm is 70-80 days. Stopping a minimum of 3 months prior to conception. It can also impact ovulation. Making it difficult to conceive. Plus there is no safe amount of alcohol in pregnancy. We'll discuss how you and your partner can quit drinking to maximize your preconception health. Plus how to deal with societal pressures to drink and how to be social while sober. -- Registration for Mindfulness Fertility Series Closes Today - Sept 23rd - this course is only offered 2x/year. She walks us through getting pregnant on clomed and then an early miscarriage. She details exactly what it is like to show up in a fertility clinic and the steps they take and how they take them to help women get pregnant. She tried the meds, IUI. She had a lazy left ovary and endometrial biopsies revealed a hormonal and PH imbalance in the uterus. She only has 2 viable embryos and implants them both. After a successful pregnancy, she ends up in the hospital on bed rest for 6 weeks with preeclampsia. Her journey includes trauma and anxiety both antepartum and postpartum. At delivery, her uterus inverts and she hemorrhages requiring several blood transfusions. She opens up about how Zoloft really helped her.
