S&P Futures are positive this morning as market rebound from yesterday's selling pressure. Fed delivered a rate cut and lowered its forward guidance on rates, however the narrative from the fed was rather hawkish which caused heavy selling pressure. Congressional leaders budget deal is running into some stiff pushback from republican lawmakers. Earnings reports after the bell today from NKE & FDX. MU released forward guidance that disappointed the street. Shares of LW are under pressure this morning as company announced earnings along with a new CEO. Lennor (LII) will be joining the S&P 500 on Dec 23rd. Ticker BILL to replace LII in the S&P 400. In Europe stocks trading lower and oil prices are displaying slight losses in the pre-market.

Through his work, his podcast, and his social media listening, Joshua Liu, CEO of SeamlessMD has his fingers on the pulse of healthcare. Healthcare IT Today caught up with him at the eHealth 2024 conference to get his take on the latest trends in health IT. According to Liu, AI technologies like ambient clinical voice are not a universal fit for every clinician. He cited a recent study by The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) which showed less than half of the physicians who had access to the technology chose to use it. Those that did, found it very helpful, but the majority did not elect to try it. Oh my, how hard have the former Super Bowl teams have fallen. The Falcons and the Eagles played in Super Bowl LI and LII. Both teams have moved on from their former coaches and are attempting to rebuild. The Eagles went 4-11-1 last season and traded away their former franchise quarterback in Carson Wentz and terminated coach Doug Pederson. The Eagles picked former Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni, who didn't get interviews from the other six teams looking, to be the head coach. They also handed the ball over to former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Oder zumindest ein Praktikum für Lili, die will ja demnächst sowieso nach Hamburg ziehen; da wäre der Dienstweg zur „Gala“ nicht mehr weit. Allerdings müsste sie die Promis dann schon besser (er-)kennen. Wer Leonardo DiCaprio am Strand von Ibiza nicht wahrnimmt, wenn er im Wasser vor einem herumturnt… nun ja. Diese Wunde sitzt bei Lili tief. Selbst Taylor Swift konnte sie nicht ganz flicken. Liegt aber anscheinend in der Familie. Vater Dirk wurde ja auch schon mal von „The Body“ Elle Macpherson angegraben, ohne dass der einen blassen Schimmer und Lust auf sie hatte. Dabei hätte Janine ihm das Durchbrennen sogar nachgesehen. Disruption is a word that gets thrown around easily these days. But the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School truly was a disruptor. Founded in 1992 with the mission of making legal information available to everyone without cost, it was literally the first legal site on the Internet. It continues strong today, with readership last year of 32 million individuals in 246 countries and territories. On this episode of LawNext, we talk with Thomas R. Bruce, who is retiring June 30 after 27 years leading the LII. In 1992, Bruce and former Cornell Law Dean Peter W. Martin founded the LII. They codirected it until Martin retired in 2003, after which Bruce continued as sole director. The LII blazed the trail of publishing law online for free, inspiring the creation of some two dozen similar organizations throughout the world, and carrying the banner for the right of citizens to have access to the laws that govern them. Bruce says he is most proud that he was able to break the monopoly on legal information held by commercial publishers. “The time was ripe for change, and we were the first to use the Web to try our hands at it.” A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Tom started his career as a stage and production manager before joining Cornell Law School as director of educational technologies. The first seeds of the LII were sowed, Bruce once wrote, with two gin-and-tonics, consumed by someone else. The rest, as they say, is history -- a history Bruce recounts in this episode. On the latest episode of the ABA Banking Journal Podcast, two top compliance executives at U.S. Bank describe how they partnered with law enforcement and leveraged transaction data to help identify human traffickers during the 2018 Super Bowl, held near U.S. Bank's headquarters in Minneapolis. On the podcast, Phillip DeLuca and Jim Dinkins discuss how they built their anti-trafficking strategy, how they partnered effectively with local law enforcement and how they train employees at all levels and in every business line to recognize the signs of human trafficking. The result: 94 individuals arrested during the 11 days leading up to Super Bowl LII -- and many of the arrests were due in part to reports to law enforcement made by the bank as part of its anti-trafficking initiative.
