On today's show, we chat with two - time guest, Jordan St. Cyr! It was when Jordan St. Cyr was a teen and served with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) that he found the inspiration to pursue music as a career. He eventually released an EP, and in the years that have followed, he has released more music and has received numerous life-changing opportunities to work alongside many talented songwriters, producers, and artists, all of whom have encouraged him along his journey. From playing numerous events of all sizes and meeting people from many different walks of life, humanity's deep desire for meaningful connection has been revealed to him and the hope to find something more vibrant than our current reality. St. Cyr dropped his first full-length self-titled album in the spring of 2022 with Seattle-based label, BEC Recordings. The project features the chart-climbing radio hits "Fires" and "Weary Traveler" - both of which offer a pursuit of hope, even in our darkest moments, to know that God gives us stories to share and encourage one another through our fires and weary travels, to give us strength in the midst of them. And it was “Fires” that quickly put St. Cyr on the map, hitting the airwaves on major networks and stations for nearly 18 months straight and reaching millions weekly and going top 5. “Weary Traveler” followed, which also became his first No. 1 hit single, taking the top spot on all radio charts. 2022 continued to be an astounding year for St. Cyr. He became a two-time GMA Dove Awards nominee, being recognized for Best New Artist and for Short-Form Video Of The Year ("Weary Traveler”), followed by sweeping the GMA Canada Covenant Awards with six wins, the most out of any other nominees and adding to his already five Covenant Award wins. He was recognized as Artist of the Year, Album and Male Vocalist of the Year along with Best Pop Song, Live Music Artist, and AC Artist of the Year. While he continues to create music and tour, Jordan St. Cyr is really just getting started. We have to build our life on something, if we don't we will fall. Jordan St. Cyr's sophomore album, My Foundation, resonates with those building their foundation on solid rock. He speaks through personal experiences that touch the hearts of all who have weathered storms.  “The idea of my foundation has never been physical,” Jordan explains. “It's always been this understanding of God as my heavenly Father; being the foundation on which I build my life on and the home I get to participate in building with Him for my wife and kids.” With all that Jordan has experienced the last few years, he praises the Lord for the outcome, “I now rejoice for all the gifts He gave us through the process.” 'My Foundation' is out today! jordanstcyr.com @jordanstcyr christianmusicguys.com @christianmusicguys --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/christianmusicguys/message

"What am I supposed to do when you look at me like that, like you know my whole life and you still want to hear it?"Have you ever had feelings that you weren't sure were requited? Have you ever been reluctantly drawn to a relationship that broke you wide open?In "American Denim," songwriter Sam Cormier seeks to navigate those feelings with innovative, open guitar tunings and sweeping melodic lines. Using layered harmonies and minimal production to capture the feeling of a live performance, Sam aims for a musical snapshot of the wild uncertainty of a crush and the reckless rush of attraction. In this episode, Sam and Emmeline talk about the importance of growing into a lyrical idea and waiting for one's life to catch up to the thoughts within a forming  song. They also talk about the freedom of open chords and tunings on acoustic guitar, the impossibly beautiful challenge of telling the truth in songs, and why fast driving is such a delicious endeavor. Emmeline references Ani DiFranco's "Falling is Like This," and Sam talks about taking musical ownership of his identity as a gay man. He also shares how the scariness of navigating a queer identity can add an extra layer of risk to a potential relationship. To learn more about Sam Cormier, or to follow his musical journey, follow him on Instagram at @samcormier_music. "You see, what had happened was..."I'm from Ennis, Texas. The Neel and Getzendaner sides of my family helped settled Ellis County, and the Templetons and Atwoods were in Ennis before it was a town. Given the lofty expectations that came along with that, I gotta say I reckon I've been somewhat of a disappointment. Fast forward to the summer of 1980, when you could find me at a few different songwriter haunts in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas, watching, learning, listening, and playing my own compositions (which frankly weren't that great back then), and zeroing in on what I wanted my life's work to be, without a clue how to make that happen. I'm still kinda clueless about how to do that, honestly. At that time it was called folk music, because that was the catch-all genre before "Americana" was invented. I spent the next seven years doing this type of thing, as well as serving as a sideman, rhythm guitarist/ background vocalist in a number of country bands, and fronting one of my own. I learned lessons from every one of those experiences; some of them good, all of them necessary. In 1987 I was recruited to sing "hair metal," though that ain't what we called it then, by a band my brother was playing drums for. Over the next 10 years I fronted two successful, fun bands during the halcyon days of the Dallas Metal Scene, paled around with those Abbott boys, and Dave Williams, (RIP to all three), opened for many of the platinum selling artists of the genre across Texas, and was certain I was gonna be a rockstar. I was wrong, obviously, but I sure had a lot of fun. And I'm still around to talk about it, so there's that. In 1999 I took a job in the Texas Hill Country in a small town where I knew no one, to get my then 3-yr old out of the gang infested area of DFW we were living in, to give her a "hometown" to grow up in, and to heal from a busted marriage. Music got placed on the back burner for the next several years, though you could find me on a stage in Austin now and then singing a couple of tunes with a friend's band, or shamelessly showing off at local karaoke, or showing up somewhere in the Hill Country with a guitar hoping to sit in here and there. I was doing what I thought I was supposed to. Music was replaced by various hobbies and bad habits. In 2006 I started actively writing songs again, and in 2008 I walked into Timbre Lodge Studios and began work on my first, full-length record under my own name, titled How Country, which was released in late 2009. That album brought me lifelong music family relationships that hold up to this day, and garnered me the 2010 Texas Music Award for Rising Star of the Year (a title that my mom enjoyed ribbing me about at my advanced age, compared to the normally more youthful artists that award was given to). In 2011, my friend and co-writer Heath Childs and I released Atwood-Childs Trading Pains, also recorded at Timbre Lodge, a dark 14-song acoustic record of songs just like you'd expect to find, judging by the title. Notably, it included the first versions ever released of Dead Man, Anyone Listening and Home (later recorded by Brimstone), and crowd favorite Grace And Whiskey (penned by Heath). In 2012 and 2013, as Mark Allan Atwood & Brimstone, I released Burned At The Crossroads and Alive & Well, respectively, which were both recorded at Dave Perceful's famous Yellow Dog Studios, under the masterful production hand of Adam Odor. In 2013 I received the TMA for Male Vocalist of the Year (because Dave Fenley didn't make a record the year before - he'd won three years in a row, and rightly so), and in 2014 we were named Live Band of the Year (Alive & Well was a half studio/half live album). I moved from Fort Worth to South Padre Island in the first week of 2016, and immediately took up what turned into a 6-year residency at a bayside bar. In the 6.5 years since I've played over 1,000 shows on the island and by even a low guess

LIVE: Lee Greenwood -- The Story Behind "God Bless The USA" LIVE: Lee Greenwood -- The Story Behind "God Bless The USA" Music has always been a part of Lee Greenwood's life. He started playing the piano when he was seven and the saxophone at 12. In junior high, he started his first group called the Moonbeams. His sister Patricia was the piano player in the band. By the time, he finished High School he played most all the instruments in the orchestra and was the Drum Major for the marching band.   Greenwood was born in Los Angeles California & finished high school in Sacramento in June 1960. He passed on track & music scholarships to the College of the Pacific along with a professional baseball career to pursue his passion for music. He also elected to skip his high school graduation ceremony to begin work at the Golden Hotel & Casino in Reno Nevada with his own band, the “Apollos”. That turned out to be a great choice. The California native was discovered in 1979 by Larry McFaden, who saw him performing in a show at the Nugget Casino in Sparks, Nevada. Larry was the bass player and bandleader for Mel Tillis. He brought the singer to Nashville and got him signed to the Halsey Agency, who booked The Oak Ridge Boys. He began working with producer Jerry Crutchfield who would record with Lee for the next 20 years.   “Choosing songs to record is always exciting,” says Greenwood. “I'm a songwriter as well and I love lyrics that have depth and emotion. I'm thankful for the many writers & artists who have contributed to my career”.   With seven #1 songs & 25 charted singles to his credit, choosing songs proved to be a success for Greenwood. His country hits include: “It Turns Me Inside Out”, “Ring On Her Finger Time On Her Hands”, ”She's Lying”, “I Don't Mind the Thorns If You're The Rose”, “Dixie Road”, “Somebody's Gonna Love You”, “Going Going Gone”, “You Got A Good Love Comin”, “Fools Gold”, and “Mornin Ride” while he already garnered several crossover hits such as “Touch & Go Crazy”, “IOU” and the duet with Barbara Mandrell, “To Me”.   Lee Greenwood has won numerous industry awards including, Male Vocalist of the Year from the Academy of Country Music in 1983, two Male Vocalist of the Year awards from the Country Music Association in 1983 & 1984 and a Grammy for Top Male Vocal Performance in 1985 for “I.O.U.”. The CMA also named “God Bless The U.S.A.” its Song of the Year in 1985.   “God Bless the USA” went far beyond what Greenwood expected when he wrote it in the back of his tour bus in 1983. The song has been in the top five on the country singles charts three times (1991, 2001 and 2003), giving it the distinction of being the only song in any genre of music to achieve that feat. It was also #1 on the pop charts after 9/11/01. In addition, CBS News voted “God Bless The U.S.A.” the most recognizable patriotic song in America. In 2011, Beyonce offered her version of “God Bless the U.S.A.” as a download, with the proceeds going to the 9/11 firefighters fund in NYC. It has been performed by contestants on “American Idol” twice & was the winning song in the 2011 “Dancing with the Stars” competition on ABC. It is performed at all military and patriotic events throughout the year all across America. “USA” has also been in several movies and is now part of the film shown by The Department of Homeland Security when new citizens are sworn in to the United States.   Greenwood says; “USA is the song I always felt the need to write. I wanted to have something that would unite Americans from coast to coast and to instill pride back in the United States. The song represents my family, my community and those men and women who have paid the price for the freedoms we all love and enjoy.” President George W. Bush appointed Greenwood to serve on the National Endowment of the Arts Council and his appointment was U.S. Senate approved. That Presidential Appointment continued under President Obama and still continues under President Trump.   In 2012, Greenwood released a children's illustrated book, “Does God Still Bless the U.S.A.,” and ranked #1 on many of the notable Best Sellers Lists. It features a 30 day calendar, “Prayers of a Patriot” and includes two songs, written by Greenwood, free for download in the back of the book. One is a new version of “God Bless the U.S.A.,” and the other is a Praise & Worship song, “Show Me The Way”.   Lee and his wife, Kimberly, a former Miss Tennessee, fell in love on his 1989 USO/DOD tour. They were married in Nashville in 1992 and have two sons, Dalton and Parker.   Lee's Website: https://leegreenwood.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help us fund the operation here: www.ToddCoconato.com/give Get up-to-the-minute news here: www.Remnant.News Download our new app at www.ToddCoconato.com/app Follow Pastor Todd here: www.toddcoconato.com/findme Go to our store for special deals for Remnant Warriors here: https://remnant.news/hanews/deals-for-remnant-warriors/

This week we welcome Tim Atwood! Tim Atwood hails from East Peoria, Illinois, where he began his music career playing gospel music at the age of thirteen for The Harris Family. It wasn't long before Tim decided music was his calling and headed to Music City USA. Tim immediately began touring with country legends Mel Street, Lynn Anderson and Jim Ed Brown, before settling in at the Grand Ole Opry, where he racked up over 8,500 Grand Ole Opry performances to his credit. Tim successfully transitioned from the spotlight's fringe where he played piano for Grammy award winners and CMA “Entertainers of the Year” to the center stage where he performs his high energy stage show for eager audiences all over the world. Tim Atwood is known as an Entertainer's Entertainer — one of the highest compliments you can receive in the music industry. And why not? This multi-award-winning piano virtuoso learned from the best. With recent television appearances on the Hallmark channel's Home & Family show, Fox News, RFD-TV's Larry's Country Diner and the television series Country Family Reunion: Another Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting, new converts to Tim's music have discovered what long time Atwood fans have known all along: Tim Atwood has a voice!
Tim is a stylist who feels every song he sings, and in turn, the audience feels it too. Perhaps Grammy award winner and Grand Ole Opry matriarch Jeannie Seely summed up Tim's talents best when she said, “Tim Atwood will have his audience laughing at one of his many road stories delivering his lines with a quick wit and country boy charm. Then he'll fire that audience up like only he can – bopping his head and raking his foot across those keys – the audience clapping their hands and singing along, and just like that, he belts out a poignant ballad that puts a lump in their throats and a tear in their eyes. Tim Atwood is an entertainer!” With recent nods for Entertainer of the Year by the Reunion of Professional Entertainers and Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists, Tim received the 2017 R.O.P.E. award for “Musician of the Year” and was named by the Genuine Country Music Association as their 2017 “Fan Favorite.” In June 2018, Tim was inducted into the ALM Musician's Hall of Fame. While he enjoys performing his own show and recording his own projects, Tim continues to be a sought-after studio musician in Nashville. For more information and tour dates, visit TimAtwood.com.

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Gary Lewis, Rock and Roll Legend, Founder and Lead Singer of “Gary Lewis and the Playboys” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest is the lead singer of one of the most popular and successful rock and roll bands in pop music history, “Gary Lewis and the Playboys”.  He's the son of Jerry Lewis and singer Patti Palmer.  His mother, who was performing at the time with the Ted Fio Rito Orchestra, intended to name him after her favorite actor, Cary Grant, but her son became "Gary" as the result of a clerical error. He received a set of drums as a gift for his 15th birthday in 1960 and when he was 18, formed the band "Gary and the Playboys" with four friends.  Joking at the lateness of bandmates to practice, Lewis referred to them as "playboys", and the name stuck. Their many hit songs, including “This Diamond Ring”, “Count me In”, “Save Your Heart for Me”, “Everybody Loves a Clown”, “She's Just my Style”, “Sure Gonna Miss Her” and “Green Grass”, are part of the soundtrack of our lives.  With 8 Gold Singles, 17 Top 40 Hits, 4 Gold Albums, and 45 Million records sold worldwide, our guest is the first and only artist during the 1960s to have his  first 7 releases reach Billboard magazine's Top 10 on the Hot 100 chart.   In 1965, he was named Cash Box magazine's "Male Vocalist of the Year", winning out over Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.   He and his band made numerous appearances on popular TV shows including American Bandstand, Hullabaloo, Shindig, and The Tonight Show.  AND he's one of only a handful of artists who appeared FIVE TIMES WITHIN 2 YEARS on the Ed Sullivan Show.   With the re-emerging interest in oldies music, “Gary Lewis & The Playboys” continue to tour and entertain their millions of fans around the world.   For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/ https://www.garylewisandtheplayboys.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrcsf3b81anAxrEdx00hJ4Ahttps://open.spotify.com/artist/5aSnz1nvFeSHw02Ijw0VO3?autoplay=truehttps://music.apple.com/ca/artist/gary-lewis/27463403 #GaryLewis  #GaryLewisandthePlayboys  #harveybrownstoneinterviews

"Why am I the same?" This poignant question serves as a haunting, thought-provoking conclusion to "Houston," the coming-of-age ballad off of Billy Law's brand new album, Alone Somewhere.  Billy's sparse musical rendering emphasizes the loneliness of one's early twenties, when the shift from college life to adulthood forces a sort of personal reckoning.  In this episode, Emmeline and Billy talk about the essential loneliness of self-discovery, the confusing transition to becoming one's own breadwinner, the importance of following one's heart and chasing one's passion, and the persistence with which a parent's adages seem to follow us around. They also talk about the importance of live music, the importance of leaving space in music, and why dynamics matter so much in the execution of a song. You'll even hear them share their favorite sad songs, like "Seventeen" by Sharon Van Etten and Olivia Rodrigo's "Enough for You."To learn more about Billy Law, or to follow his musical journey, find him on all of your favorite social media sites at @abillylaw.  You can also download his new album, Alone Somewhere, on all streaming platforms. "How do you stop a good guy with a gun?" This poignant question concludes the chorus of Chris J. Norwood's brand new single off of his forthcoming album, I Am Not Cool.  In "Good Guy with a Gun," Chris tells the deceptively simple story of a gun owner who followed all of the rules, lived as a family man, and still met an untimely demise. In this conversation, Emmeline and Chris talk about telling one's story through music, how songs can give each of us better perspective and deeper empathy, and how music has the potential to start important social conversations. Chris also talks about diving deeply into difficult topics, his desire to connect with listeners through the stories he tells, and how his "day job" as a commercial writer influences his approach to songwriting. To learn more about Chris J.
