What global drink brand did Korea take over? What Korean chain did Daniel's co-worker take great offense to? What key signature item do Korean 7-11's not have? What chain in Korea has a Gone With The Wind flavor? What American thing are Korean convenience stores most similar to? What Canadian franchise is coming to Korea? What US franchise does Daniel think would do well in Korea, and vice-versa for Jun? What food trends are already dying down?Does Psy have his own burger, and who is Papa Jones? If you're interested in any of these questions, tune in to hear Daniel and Jun discuss all this and more! Barbie hasn't just been a hit at the box office, several restaurant concepts big and small have also gained momentum from tapping into the cultural phenomenon. Cold Stone Creamery, for instance, is offering an All That Glitters is Pink flavor, with pink cotton candy ice cream, graham cracker crust, dance party sprinkles and whipped topping, while Pinkberry launched a Barbie Land Berry Pink Swirl, featuring dragon fruit and strawberry flavors and topped with “dream sprinkles.” The Barbie Frappuccino – a secret menu item at Starbucks – proliferated on social media shortly before the movie's release.Independents have also jumped into the moment.
Hey guys!I'm back one more time before July wraps-up, and this time I'm back with a guest! Yay!So I caught up with an old friend over brunch up about two weeks ago and decided that we needed to continue the conversation over a podcast episode. We had so much fun recounting how we met (during NYSC) and sharing how we've been full-blown thrust into Adulthood since then! This guest is none other than Ibukun Joyce Aiyemo - Former Marketing Lead at Burger King, Nigeria & current MBA student at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. She is also popularly dubbed as The Ibk Global on Instagram. She reminisces on building a successful marketing career with juggernauts like Domino's Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, Pinkberry and Burger King back in Lagos, Nigeria. Also, her decision to uproot her life and chase an MBA dream in the United States, and how she navigates her way through the challenges of business school. From tough academic requirements to adapting to a foreign culture, then financial planning for an MBA, the harsh realities of job interviews, and the importance of creating relationships that matter. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording! With love from Lagos, New York City & Toronto,Tolu & Ibk P.S: I mighty forgot to introduce myself to our new listeners at the beginning of the episode. Frankly speaking, I'm the coolest person you'd ever meet and you can watch me prove that right (or wrong, haha) here. I hope you come back for another episode too. Untitled Art Pixie Mix Pink Berry is a hard seltzer by style. The brainchild of an in-house competition to see who could blow the biggest bubble gum bubble. Exploding pink spheres and loud smacks harkened us back to the days of our youth chomping on wads of gum… and we wanted to replicate that nostalgia in beverage form! This hard seltzer is 5.5% ABV. In this review, we will take a look at the color, smell, and taste.

Entrepreneurs will likely recognize the process that led to the creation of Chloe's: founder Chloe Epstein had a need that wasn't being met by current products on the market so she developed a concept to address that need. In her case, it was a lack of clean ingredient, better-for-you frozen yogurt and her idea was to create a chain of cafes that sold fruit-based soft-serve. Despite success with the initial retail store, adding additional locations proved to be an expensive and complex endeavor. At that point she, along with co-founders Michael Sloan and her husband Jason Epstein, undertook a major pivot that would reshape the company and, in the process, establish a new set of better-for-you products within the frozen novelty category. Today, Chloe's markets an expansive portfolio, including its flagship line of fruit-based pops, a first-of-its kind line of frozen bars made from oat milk and a new no-sugar added line of frozen pops. The brand is represented in over 10,000 retail doors and also boasts a licensing deal with Marvel in which comic book characters from the Avengers and Spider-Man adorn boxes of its most popular flavors. In the following interview, Epstein and Sloan joined us for a conversation that pulled back the curtain on the company's founding story, the decision to shift its focus from foodservice to packaged goods, the leap from a slow and steady growth strategy to one that embraced a national distribution plan and why Chloe's is not shy about putting a target on the back of big CPG. Show notes: 0:37: Interview: Chloe Epstein and Michael Sloan, Co-Founders, Chloe's -- Taste Radio editor Ray Latif spoke with Epstein and Sloan about their respective backgrounds in law and finance, how they applied lessons from their retail business into the launch of their consumer brand and why they said “yes” when Kroger wanted to take the brand national just a year after its debut. They also explained how they built Chloe's in the “natural side of conventional,” how they strive to make Chloe's products accessible to and affordable for most consumers and how they convinced Whole Foods to accept their Marvel-branded products in its stores. Brands in this episode: Chloe's, Pinkberry, Tasti D-Lite

Every once in a while, we’re fortunate enough to check a few names off our interview bucket list. This week, we’re gettin’ BBQ (metaphorically, alas) with our favorite chambray-clad gearhead, the one and only Jay Leno! Jay needs no introduction. If you’ve had a television set plugged in at all over the last 30 years, you know the man. And, if you’re a collector car nut, you’d know that denim shirt and silver hair peering over car show entries across this great land of ours, anywhere. Not to mention six glorious years, and counting, of Jay Leno’s Garage. Now, we’ve had the great fortune to visit Jay and his legendary car collection in Burbank, CA a few times. And it’s not lost on us that Jay’s been a fan of Hemmings longer than a Pinkberry line’s worth of Zennial lifetimes strung together. So, when we really stop and think about it, shame on us for not calling up Jay sooner and inviting you over for the hilarity that ensues. Grab shop stool over there by the giant, antique industrial pulley set into the floor of Jay’s shop and hang out for another weekly HOT ROD BBQ. Hey, you never know who’s gonna show up…
This week Leah takes us on a deep dive into valley yogurt shops and food trends. Cupcakes! Pinkberry! Red Velvet! We're also joined by screenwriter Jamie Manelis to talk about the 1983 movie, Valley Girl starring Deborah Foreman and Nicolas Cage! It's a totally tripendicular episode.
Global Product Management Talk is pleased to bring you the next episode of... The Everyday Innovator with host Chad McAllister, PhD. The podcast is all about helping people involved in innovation and managing products become more successful, grow their careers, and STANDOUT from their peers. About the Episode: You’ve heard it before, product managers need empathy. One way we talk about empathy in our role is “walking in the customers’ shoes,” meaning that we understand the customer, the problem they need solved, or the job they want done. Indeed, product managers who use empathy wisely are more likely to gain customer insights that others miss, leading to products that create more value than competitors and products that customers love. Clearly, empathy is important, but not all product managers have gained this skill, and others are not using it correctly. Our guest, Rob Volpe, will help us use empathy better. He is the CEO of Ignite 360, a consumer insight firm, and a self-proclaimed Empathy Activist. They say every major change starts with your mindset, so how do you go about changing THAT? Is it a simple flip of a switch, or do you need to dig deeper? In this week’s Episode, we had the pleasure of interviewing Loralee Dodson. Loralee is a Master Health & Life Coach based in Florida. She has been working as a Coach since 2011 and has changed so many people’s lives— Including M’Lisa’s! Listen in as we discuss why some people are able to make permanent lifestyle (or business!) changes and others swing right back into their old habits. This Episode is so special to us because Loralee actually played a huge role in M’Lisa and Royal meeting— Here’s the story: Loralee was M’Lisa’s eyelash extension client but also her health coach. Part of Lor’s program at the time was a diet reset in which the client cuts all sugars out of his/her diet for a minimum of 21 days. During the 21 days, when flying home from a business trip in Los Angeles, M’Lisa was extremely hungry waiting at the LAX Airport. There wasn’t time for a sit down meal, so she headed to the food court to see if anything would fit in her sugar-free program. While standing in the food court, she found herself in front of Pink Berry Frozen Yogurt, staring up at the menu and rationalizing about whether or not it was okay to have some froyo. While there, she noticed a police officer talking (flirting) with a woman who was ordering some yogurt, but she didn’t think anything of it. After several minutes of going back in forth in her head, M’Lisa decided that it wasn’t worth it to end her sugar-free streak for a few minutes of froyo enjoyment and she walked outside of the food court, pulled out her cell phone, and typed a long text message to Loralee to vent about how frustrated she was with the lack of healthy options in that particular airport. Unbeknownst to her, the police officer had noticed her in the food court, walked away from the girl, and stood by patiently until M’Lisa was done sending her lengthy text. When she put her phone in her purse and started to walk away, the cop said, “Hey! You stood there in front of Pink Berry all that time and you didn’t order anything?” AND THEN, they fell in love and got married, all because M’Lisa decided (after much back-and-forth in her head) to stick with her eating plan and what she was learning from Loralee. THE END! :)) Okay, there was obviously more to the story than that, but we give a lot of credit to Lor for this and many other ways she helped M’Lisa change her mindset and lifestyle. Take notes and really dig deep during this Episode— Ask yourself if your mindset is where it needs to be to help you be as successful and fulfilled as you truly want to be. You can connect with Loralee on Instagram @life.coach.lor and on her website at www.loraleedodson.com. You can also reach her at lifecoachlor@gmail.com or in her FB Group, Meeting the Mark.
