Teachhoops.com WintheSeason.com Dr Dish Website CoachingYouthHoops.com https://forms.gle/kQ8zyxgfqwUA3ChU7 Coach Collins Coaching Store Deterioration of Fundamentals: The decline of fundamental basketball skills is a significant issue in modern coaching. We often find that junior college coaches spend a considerable amount of time teaching basic defensive strategies that players should have already mastered. This lack of fundamentals is partly due to a shift in the focus of coaching. The game has become more about individual performance and less about team play. This is evident in the prevalent one-on-one style of play and the prioritization of money and fame over skill development. Challenges in Rural Areas: Coaching in rural areas presents unique challenges, such as smaller schools and less interest in basketball. For example, a team might start the season with ten players but end with only four due to various reasons, including lack of interest. Travel is another major challenge. Teams often have to travel long distances for games, which can be exhausting and time-consuming. This limits the opportunities for competition and development compared to urban areas, where local competition is more accessible. The European Model: One proposed solution to improve fundamentals is adopting the European model of youth basketball, where players practice more and play fewer games. In the U.S., the focus is often on playing multiple games with minimal practice, which hampers skill development. Shifting to a model where practice is prioritized could help players develop better fundamental skills. Impact of AAU and Summer Ball: The growth of AAU basketball has contributed to the decline of fundamentals. Unlike 20 years ago, when there was one AAU team per area, now there are numerous teams, many of which are not of high quality. This saturation dilutes the talent pool and creates a pay-to-play environment, where the focus is more on financial gain than skill development. This has led to a situation where many players are not prepared for higher levels of competition. Efforts to Improve Fundamentals: Despite these challenges, efforts are being made to improve the situation. For example, in Mississippi, a junior NBA league has been established with a focus on fundamental skills. Players are required to attend clinics to be eligible to play, ensuring they receive proper training. This model emphasizes practice and skill development over simply playing games. The Role of USA Basketball: USA Basketball is also trying to address the issue by promoting fundamental skills, but it faces an uphill battle against the commercialized aspects of youth basketball. The emphasis on individual performance and exposure over team play and skill development continues to be a significant barrier. Conclusion: The decline of fundamental basketball skills is a multifaceted issue that requires a collective effort to address. Coaches, parents, and basketball organizations need to prioritize skill development and team play over individual performance and financial gain. Adopting models that emphasize practice and skill development, like the European model, can help. Additionally, initiatives like junior NBA leagues can provide structured environments for players to develop their skills. Without these efforts, the foundation of basketball will continue to erode, affecting the future of the sport. Thank you for listening to this episode of High School Hoops. In this episode, Jared and Micah talk about real training vs. fantasy. There are plenty of good quality training companies out there, of which LTAC is one. But for every good one, there are a dozen that aren't. They share some examples of those who are attempting to "teach" concepts and courses above their understanding. LTAC has one of the most well-rounded course offerings in the country, yet we are very specific in what we teach. Jared uses an example of why we don't teach a specific set of classes, as a way of self-regulating. The point of this podcast isn't that you should or shouldn't teach, it's to check your ego and know your abilities and limitations. Lisa is joined by Lee Boyce who talks about gender difference and strength training. In Lee's own words:I've done a lot of stuff in my career as a fitness professional. But I still use the same job description whenever I'm asked. I'm a trainer. I help people work out for results. And possessing that skill is what's enabled me to land the opportunities I've achieved to this point.I don't use fancy terms like “body transformation specialist” or “muscle mechanic”. I got to where I'm at by sticking to the basic tenets of my craft – and for me, that means never abandoning my number 1 pursuit: Fitness training and coaching clients. That's the piece of the pie that puts a combination of my own fitness background, my school-based knowledge, and my time spent competing in varsity track, to good practice on a regular basis. And keeping my allegiance there has directly or indirectly paid dividends in the form of being able to educate other professionals, land some pretty high-profile clients, teach college students, and achieve all the accomplishments you'll see littered throughout this website. I won't repeat them all here.Instead, I'll use this section to give you the lowdown on what to expect hanging around this place.REAL TRAINING. NO NONSENSE.Just like the slogan of this website implies, you won't have to filter through fluff or off-topic material to get to the goods. This site is dedicated to delivering training information and advice for a large demographic of people. There's strength training, fat loss, muscle development, and conditioning advice that ranges from beginner level content to advanced content for experienced trainees. You'll find most of this variety by keeping abreast with the work I have published in different print magazines (I'm usually on newsstands for something every month) and digital publications. In addition to this, my “training tips” section will highlight nuggets of fitness advice (or good exercises to try) for your convenience. As a whole, it's a lot of content – I know – but the site makes it fairly easy to navigate through and also keyword search just what you might be looking for.I use my blog section a bit differently than most fitness professionals. I don't post too often, but when I do, you can count on a more editorial piece that highlights things I see in the fitness industry, and how they can affect the culture of fitness as a whole. Some of the subjects I choose to zero in on may open your eyes to a different perspective through a counter-intuitive lens. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5948889/advertisement

Today I dig into our rebranding process and how we are wanting to evolve. Over the last 3 years, Dustin and I have moved heavily away from CrossFit and towards functional fitness for longevity and vitality. Our tagline "Real Training. Better Living," represents not only our approach to meaningful and intentional fitness, but also our philosophy that everything we do inside the gym is meant to enhance your life outside the gym. That means we need to address 4 specific pillars of your lifestyle that will ultimately make your efforts inside District H that much better. This includes intentional movement, holistic nutrition, personal accountability, and a thriving mindset to life. We want the Houston Community to think of District H as the place that can help create a meaningful difference in their life, not just another place to get a hard workout. Welcome to Episode 94 of our podcast, Courageous Conversations, hosted by Leanne Pilkington. In this episode, our guest is Kylie Maxwell, a successful agency owner, a real estate business coach, consultant and a trainer at Real+ Training and Consultancy. When successful agency owners Kylie Maxwell and her husband Jason sold their business in Queanbeyan, New South Wales last year, many in the industry were surprised. After all, here was a couple at the top of their game, with a highly successful LJ Hooker office, an enviable market share and a renowned reputation in the industry. But as Kylie explains, it was an opportunity too good to pass up and one they weren't sure would present itself again in a couple of years' time. It also provided the opportunity to explore other areas of the industry that Kylie was passionate about. In this episode of Courageous Conversations with Leanne Pilkington, Kylie offers an insight into the thinking behind the sale, how it was a proposal that came out of the blue, and why they were fortunate to have a business that was sale-ready, despite no intentions to sell. She explains the role good processes and procedures play when it comes to property management, why every agency owner should audit their business annually, and why the systems they had in place allowed them to seize the unexpected opportunity. Kylie also reflects on a 30-year career in the industry, including a brush with burnout that many will relate to. She discusses the challenge of being a leader and a people pleaser, and the changes she made to her leadership style in order to better manage her time, her energy, and the work/life balance. In a podcast that's part business best-practice, part property management masterclass, and part lessons in leadership, Kylie offers a wealth of tips, some stellar advice based on experience and a truly personal insight into why she is rightly regarded as one of the best real estate practitioners in the industry. “If you have a business and it is in your five-year plan to sell your rent roll, don't wait until you're tired of it and you've run it into the ground. Do it while you're still actively working in it, and you're vibrant and it's got a good reputation and you've got a good asset to sell,” Kylie Maxwell Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast via Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify or Google Podcasts.

This was recorded in early February. I feel it's important to balance out the theoretical side of things and on-the-ground perspective, so I brought in Kris Coleman, a former CIA Officer and FBI Special Agent. We get into some practical and frank ideas around what we need to do to cultivate resiliency individually and as a community, combating misinformation (spoiler: always check your sources and avoid echo chambers), and how massively important awareness is. Kris Coleman is Founder, President, and CEO of Red Five, where he supports private families, family offices, corporations, and security teams with bespoke solutions to ensure their privacy, security, and resiliency. Before founding Red Five, Coleman served as a CIA Officer where he conducted threat and vulnerability assessments and developed programmatic approaches to counterterrorism and law enforcement for countries across the world. Coleman also served as an FBI Special Agent and a member of the FBI’s enhanced SWAT Team. Coleman holds a B.S. in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas. In this episode of the Martial Art of Self podcast, we discuss the concept and action of training. We ask the question of what real training is. Is training only limited and applicable to martial arts, fitness, sports and other applications that exercise the body and mind in superficial ways Training is synonymous with practice, application, and living. Thus to practice, apply and live something over and over again until it integrates as part of ourselves, as a new way or state of being. Here I touch on how I have copied the definitions and understandings of the word and action we call training from others and settled on that. With that acceptance, I closed myself off from entering a deeper relationship of understanding and application of the word and concept of training. I talk about my process of learning more about what training really is, where and how it applies, as well as giving some distinct examples of how I have lived it practically to help communicate my understanding of what training is as I have come to understand it for me through a process of self-investigation and self-introspection.
Luxury Listing Specialist - Dominate High End Listings In Any Market
The luxury “bracket” of real estate can be a difficult space to get into, but is very lucrative. How do we set ourselves up to get into luxury real estate? What do we need to do differently when dealing with a luxury listing? In this episode, Anthony Lamacchia shares on launching a luxury program and outlines his free content platform for agents, ‘Crush It in Real Estate’. To get into the luxury portfolio, you have to qualify. It’s not pay-to-play. -Anthony Lamacchia Takeaways + Tactics In the luxury space, we have to take every aspect to the next level. When we improve everything from our pictures to our floor plans, we give our agents something better to offer when they run luxury listings. When dealing with sellers, three of these four P’s need to be met. The price needs to be realistic, the person needs to be nice to work with, the property needs to be unique, and the positioning of the property must be right for the market. If you have never dealt with a luxury listing before, you have to be more flexible as an agent. You’ll have to take on an overpriced property or a difficult client in order to build your book up to the point where you can turn down listings. On this episode we discuss launching a luxury program in 2019. Anthony Lamacchia explains how and why he decided to start the program, and the growth and impact his free content platform for agents ‘Crush It in Real Estate’ has had. We also shared insights on: How dealing with luxury listings differs from the other brackets What four things need to be considered when dealing with sellers How to get started as an agent in the luxury space As agents, we can increase our average sale price by having more homes from the luxury bracket on our roster. However, it is an area that we need specific tools to succeed in, and certain qualifications need to be met in order to get into luxury. Every aspect of the listing and marketing process needs to be next-level, and we have to look at the price, seller, property and positioning in more detail. Initiatives like luxury programs and accessible agent-specific content will help us get to the level we need in order to succeed in luxury. Guest Bio Anthony Lamacchia is the Broker/Owner and CEO of Lamacchia Realty, Lamacchia Property Management, Lamacchia Development, and REAL Training and Systems Inc. Rich: Island House Triathlon NXR SW Team Results Interview Setup Sara McLarty is a professional triathlete. In the world of triathlon, she is considered a fast swimmer. She was known has being the "first out of the water" at every race. One of her biggest leads was 90 seconds at the 2006 World Cup in Ishigaki, Japan. Most of her competitions were international-distance and draft-legal. She competed against the best in the world at World Cup and World Championship races. She also enjoy competing in the famous American races: Escape from Alcatraz, Lifetime Fitness and Chicago. She would battle men like Andy Potts and Hunter Kemper in the waters of San Francisco Bay. If you haven't gone to the Central Florida Masters site, check it out. We talked about http://www.luckyslakeswim.com/ which if you are going to the Orlando area, you absolutely have to check it out. We went to Orlando in October of 2009 about 6 weeks before Ironman Cozumel and I needed a place to get some swimming in. I got on www.beginnertriathlete.com and got on the forums to find Orlando swimming info and someone recommended Lucky's Lake Swim. I went out there one morning around 6am. I did a couple laps, met Lucky, wrote my name on the bottom of his deck, got the patch and bumper sticker. Reece Adams interviews Christian Maurice who is one of the go to guys in the Hollywood movie industry working with actors, stuntmen and directors. The biggest take home point Reece personally took away from his chat with Christian was the importance of listening to your clients and not just assuming an answer. Christian spoke about always digging deeper to better understand where your client is currently at emotional, mentally and physically. To quote Christian directly… “Questionnaires are good but actually asking your client face to face is better” Why? Because people will usually only write down the average standard of their week nutritionally… And this is only scratching the surface the gems Christian shares with Reece in this Enterprise exclusive hour long episode of the Enterprise Podcast. Ian King (http://kingsportsnet.com) is a fitness performance pioneer. Ian founded one of the world's original physical preparation services for elite athlete in 1986 and has trained elite athletes in over 20 different sports in over 10 different countries. Ian is one of the most respected strength coaches in the field. Yet due to his commitment to detailed research, and unwavering distaste for gimmicky trends in the sports performance, Ian is not as visible as most self-proclaimed strength & conditioning coaches. However, anyone in the past 25+ years who claim to be a strength coach, know and respect the name Ian King. The author of the training classic, "Get Buffed," (http://budurl.com/getbuffedbook) "The Book of Muscle," (http://budurl.com/bookofmuscle) and several other books, e-books, and DVDs, continues to focus on athlete preparation for high level athletes, including Olympians, as well as provides top notch education services for for some of the most sought-after coaches in the world. Ian takes time out of his busy schedule to discuss the following with Mike & Sincere: Why Ian does not "try stuff out" How long does Ian research his training programs before publishing it publicly and what coaches can learn from his philosophy Why does Ian find strength-oriented research and training boring What is Ian's opinion of Crossfit and why What aspects of the fitness industry makes Ian feel embarrassed Individualization vs. Randomness and the problem between the two Ian shares how many years he feels it takes to create a "scientific" cause-effect relationship to training Ian discusses the issues and relationships between marketing, scarcity, fear, and impatience in the fitness industry How does Ian avoid clients who have the instant gratification mindset Why most high profile fitness marketers are the least competent coaches Ian shares how he would help a client improve on the power lifts (i.e. squats/bench/deadlfts) Why injury can actually be a good thing Why there really is no difference in training for the high level athlete and the everyday Joe & Jane Why should trainees address unilateral training and correcting imbalances Links & Resources: 1.
