We've covered a lot of gear on this podcast before.  Some cameras are ones that flew under the radar that deserved some recognition as something worth checking out, others were less common models in which a bit more effort (and cost) were required to add to a collection, but then there's a level of camera in which no amount of money or effort will result in one coming your way.  These are the Unobtanium cameras, models which are so expensive, or so hard to find, that even the most experienced of collectors don't have them. Joining Anthony, Theo, Paul, and Mike on this episode dedicated to the hardest cameras to find are some people who have found some of the hardest cameras to find, Ira Cohen, Ray Nason, Robert Rotoloni, Patrick Rapps, Rudi Berden, and James Thorpe.  Each of these guys has at least one camera that for most people would quality as unobtanium.  How they came across each model varies, but nevertheless, represent some of the coolest and hardest to find cameras ever made. As we did in the last episode, we start off this one with a question, asking our guests to define what exactly qualifies as unobtanium.  As you might expert, rarity and cost are definitely prerequisites, but what about functionality or provenance?  Does a camera that's very difficult to find in working order or a camera formerly owned by the Beatles still qualify as unobtanium.  In addition to rare cameras, lenses and accessories can qualify too, so we get into some extras that are really hard to find as well. If you were to break down types of unobtanium cameras, one that would be the hardest of the hardest to find would be prototypes, so in this episode we spend time talking about some of the coolest prototypes including two interchangeable lens rangefinders made by Minolta and Konica, but also Robert Rotoloni goes DEEP into the rabbit hole of prototype Nikon rangefinder cameras and lenses.  If you thought the Nikon SP was the most advanced 35mm rangefinder the company ever made, think again as there were two others. The rest of the episode is all over the place, discussing rare cameras by Ilford, Argus, Wica, Premier Instrument Corp, and LeCoultre.  We are quite certain that we missed some other rare and otherwise difficult to find cameras, but as always, the topics we discuss on the Camerosity Podcast are influenced by you!  We would love to hear from more listeners, especially those who are new to shooting film or collecting cameras.  Please don't feel like you have to be an expert on a specific type of camera, or have the level of knowledge on par with other people on the show.  We LOVE people who are new to shooting and are interested in having an episode dedicated to people new to the hobby, so please don't consider your knowledge level to be a prerequisite for joining! The guys and I rarely know where each episode is going to go until it happens, so if you'd like to join us on a future episode, be sure to look out for our show announcements on our Camerosity Podcast Facebook page, and right here on mikeeckman.com.  We usually record every other Monday and announcements, along with the Zoom link are typically shared 2-3 days in advance. As we did last year, we're taking the entire month of August off to relax, soak in some sun, and maybe even catch up on shooting all of the cool cameras we've all picked up in the past year so we will not be back with Episode 54 until September.  The guys and I will still be active on the Camerosity Facebook page, so keep in touch with us there, and once we have an idea of when we'll record the next episode, and what possible topics we might discuss, we'll be sure to let you know! Dr. Matthew Shindell, curator of Planetary Science and Exploration at the National Air and Space Museum, joined “Something Offbeat” this week to explore the history of “unobtanium” and take us on a trip to the line between science and science fiction.

Sean is joined by Shaun from SIVAKO: Road to Avatar podcast to review Avatar (2009). To be honest, it's more of a discussion about the world of Avatar. Blame Sean. Between the 30-60 minute mark, Sean and Shaun completely lose the plot! That's before Shaun brings up a vengeful elephant story. Sean then drags them back off-track by talking about football. Discussion Points: -Avatar's legacy. -The passionate fan-base of the Avatar world. -The current standard of superhero films (Sean can't help himself). -Avatar: The Way of Water, the long-awaited sequel. -James Cameron's direction of action scenes. -The Final Destination (2009) and Journey to the Centre of the Earth (2007) were the other 3-D films that Sean felt used the technology really well. Not exactly the pinnacle of cinema, granted. Random Questions: -Has Avatar's legacy fallen? Did it ever really start? -Were the video logs needed? -Couldn't they come up with a better name than Unobtanium? -The outstanding cinema experience of Avatar-Can it be replicated? -Was has there never been a really good zombie film in 3-D? -Have you ever listened to Friends without a laughter track? -Would you watch an Awards Show with categories such as "Most Enthusiastic Laugh Track"? -Will James Cameron sort out the dodgy CGI "Mud in feet" shot? -Have the Marvel films become too big for their boots? -When is Jaws 5: Deuce Bigalow being released? Random Quotes of the episode: -"If nothing else, it's something fresh"-Sean on Avatar: The Way of the Water. -"James Cameron isn't subtle when it comes to promoting a message" -Shaun on the director's messaging in his films. -"Sometimes less is more": A mantra Sean clearly doesn't apply to his own podcast. -"This is when to laugh, thick people"-Sean on laughter tracks. -"There is that niggling, pessimistic Northerner in my brain that thinks, maybe this is the film where it all falls apart for James Cameron"-Sean struggles to remove positive. -"I feel that Avatar is James Cameron's most-treasured possession"-Shaun on the director's passion for this franchise. -"Age him up"-Shaun wants Tom Holland to be made older in the MCU, for greater impact. -"I don't know what I'd do if I supported a team who won every week, it would put me on edge!"-Football Talk. Random Discussions Points: -The state of modern TV shows, including: Stranger Things Season 4. -Sean and Shaun did not see eye-to-eye on Alita: Battle Angel (2019). -"The Last Train to Hiroshima"-one of James Cameron's upcoming projects! Film Recommendations: -Ex Machina (2015). -The China Syndrome (1979) -Inception (2009) Random Films that we discuss: -The Batman (again-let it go) -Tenet (again-let it go) Don't write James Cameron off! Shaun will return to review Jaws: The Revenge! Thanks for listening!

We have arrived at the end of 2009, and we've got four delightful Christmas specials to look back upon today!Original airing on December 10, 2009, I'm discussing Community S01E12, "Comparative Religion"; Parks and Recreation S02E12, "Christmas Scandal"; The Office S06E13, "Secret Santa"; and 30 Rock S04E08, "Secret Santa".Not only do two episodes have the same title; but there's tons of other coincidences and links between these shows and everything else airing on Thursday that it must be some sort of Christmas miracle.  Some other tangents I explore are: the opening of the highest grossing movie of all time, "Avatar", and what few things I remember about it; getting a quota of at least one Canadian character per night; a brand new record for the amount of quotes I use from a single episode; another record in how many times we see one director in one night; and a very tenuous link to Festivus.Happy Holidays; everyone, even if it's only the middle of June!

The atomic number 189 denotes a hypothetical eka-superactinide called "Unoctennium", which sounds very similar to the fictional material called "Unobtanium". Unoctennium has not been observed in the wild yet, but should it exist it's already been named. What does this have to do with metal music? Not a damn thing, save for I'm writing up show notes for episode 189 and that was the most interesting thing that happened with the number 189 (other than some emperors and a pope dying) so this is tangentially related to metal. Plus it's kinda cool to think about metals that we think might exist but don't yet. Who knows, maybe we'll observe it in our lifetime. But what we can observe are tangible artifacts of amazing Creative Commons Metal Music. We have tracks from Dead Empires, Chaos in Paradise, Under Vultures, Zeugen der Leere, Eave, TRAIDOR, VSTRS, and Beastmaker to give your ear drums the Creative Commons metal music punishing they deserve. https://Alphainvestors.Club Hey guys! Thanks for joining us here at https://Alphainvestors.Club where today we will be reviewing Unobtanium Price Prediction WHAT IS UNOBTANIUM (UNO)? The project is as rare as the impossible metal with which it shares the name. While the metal is a matter of science fiction, the coin is very much real. The rarity is thanks to the fact that there will only be 250,000 coins ever mined. The coin is secure courtesy of SHA256 algorithm. It is much faster than bitcoin due to it being merged mined with Bitcoin. The coin was never pre-mined and this ensures fairness. To make it fairer than any other coin, the first thousand blocks were mined at a much lower reward points so as to give miners time to set their equipment up. HOW DOES UNOBTANIUM (UNO) WORK? Unobtanium is a odd-one-out in the crypto industry, where every coin is pre-mined. The launch of UNO was provable and undisputedly fair and the lack of pre-mining meant that everyone had equal chance of getting the coin rather than having it given to a certain group of people before the general public. Unobtanium is scarce and limited supply with only 196,875 Proof of Work Unо will be mined before .0001 minimum block subsidies take impact at block 612,000...tune in for our full review! $5,000 Bitcoin? $100 Billion Cryptocurrency Market Cap? Altcoins Selling to BTC?

Will the Bitcoin price reach $5,000 or $10,000 before it drops and bring the cryptocurrency market capitalization to over $100 billion? Are altcoins starting to sell off into BTC? Would you watch this video to hear my opinions based on the data I see? The Bitcoin price reached a record high of over $2,700 today May 25, 2017! Meanwhile, most of the alternative cryptocurrencies dropped anywhere from 5% to 15% in the last 24 hours which I think is signaling the ceiling for the altcoin bubble. SELL is my recommendation for nearly all the altcoins at this point with holding Bitcoin providing risk of a drop and a potential reward of doubling or tripling itself in value as the altcoins sell. That said, I was totally wrong about selling Bitcoin before at $1700 and about selling my Dash masternode at $87 when the price was $150 yesterday. My own advice allowed me to miss out on earning another $50,000+ in profit WHICH I AM OKAY WITH because there is always more money to be made. Trading crypto can be an addiction because of the constant need to get gratification from making more money and the huge hangover when the high wears off into fear resulting in desperate selling measures! Learning when to sell and accepting missing out on potential gains in exchange for peace of mind has been a big challenge for me. I am grateful for the $75,000 I did make from buying Dash at $10 to $11 originally. Selling my Dash allowed me to discover another cryptocurrency which appears to not have been fully carried away by the bubble. I am ALL IN on the crypt I share in my video class at http://u.jerrybanfield.com/courses/allincrypto. The cryptocurrenty I share that I am buying in the course is still an amazing buy and I will give you a little more time to buy it while it is low before I start promoting it relentlessly which I think will help to bring the price up 10x within the next 10 months. For cashing out, I think now is the perfect time to put Bitcoin into the altcoin I have invested in before the speculators pump it up! If the price keeps dropping on the alt coin I am excited about, I am going to keep buying and buying anyway because I believe in the community! The RDA Propaganda episode! But first, the usual problems: many of the cast didn't prepare for our scheduled discussions (RDA: Villains or not, Avatar versus Star Trek, Economics of Unobtanium, and Human Return to Pandora--which has been slated since January) and so they just weren't ready to talk about it. Therefore the discussions sounded like CRAP, and got scrapped. We did include Avatar versus Star Trek, only because Judy saved the day by derailing us to yap about something called "Topless Robot." And of course **my** expensive podcast microphone refused to work because some idiot (me) didn't do a mic/equipment/software compatibility check. So Avatar versus Star Trek has sound quality issues as well as generally being less than stellar. Okay, so now the good news: LOTS and LOTS of fun on Pandora--and finally an episode under an hour. This one clocks in at 27 minutes, with the usual bloopers (from "episode zero") at the end, and the most evilest song ever to be sung. Also, to any Star Trek fans out there: we are just making fun of Star Trek (um... duh, it's an AVATAR podcast, not a Star Trek one), but know that I loved the original series, and the new movie (the reboot). It is all kinds of fun. So, on with the show, and future episodes will be forthcoming, smaller, leaner, and hopefully have better sound quality :-p Ping services
