Lisa emphasizes the importance of an honest self-appraisal regarding one's skills, willingness to undertake repairs, and the ability to live in an ongoing project. She also advises on assessing the home's condition and potential renovation costs. Pivotal Productions was born right after College. They started officially working on Straight Forward way back in 2014 Bringing this musical forward right now is perfect timing as we're, finally, seeing a lot of Queer love representation in public art. Chris and Billy embraced opportunity and reached out to Mike and Garrett and asked to turn their story into a musical. This was their first co-writing project and it took a long time to learn each other and how to compliment one another. The Pandemic allowed them time to really dedicate the time needed to get this show together. After the workshop of Straight Forward, they took it to the New York Theatre Festival. Through Pivitol Productions, Chris and Billy are able to train, educate and employ young theatre artists to find their own voice and gain meaningful experience so they can have long, lasting careers in the industry. Prodooser is digitizing production and moving away from all of the archaic stuff in the industry. Billy's thoughts on failure: What did I learn? What will I do differently next time? Being receptive to more failure as a form of growth. Chris's thoughts on failure: My relationship with failure is more complicated. I tend to relish in the negative but am working through it. If you remember the article (2014), go take an ibuprofen for your back. This week Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) sit down with Chris Sabol (@chrissabs) and Billy Aberle (@billyaberle) to talk about their brand new musical, Straight Forward (@straightforwardmusical) and the real life story that inspired it. Not only did Chris and Billy go to college with Ellie (and experience the exclusive pre-coming out variant of your favorite tol le$bean host), but together they have written and produced a gay musical (remind you of anyone?). We chatted with Billy and Chris about the challenges of writing and then producing an Off-Broadway run and the importance of telling LGBTQ+ stories of all kinds, especially in the face of the current political climate. The article and the story behind it are both incredibly true to their time. For those of you who are less familiar with the real life story of “straight men” Mike and Garrett and the effect their relationship had on the queer and straight communities alike, strap in for the tale of your new favorite ‘and they were roommates' couple. The story itself is one all queer people can relate to at its core. As much as we may have blotted out of the memories, pretty much all of us started out our lives identifying as ‘straight'. But what happens if you truly believe you are straight (like you are legitimately happy being straight) and then you start to fall in love with your best friend? Not in the, ‘Oh, I fell in love with my best friend so I should re-evaluate my sexuality' kind of way. But in the, ‘I still overwhelmingly identify as straight and that feels true, but there seems to be this one very surprising exception' kind of way. Yes, to us and probably you, falling in love with your best friend based on who they are on the inside while disregarding their physical looks and gender identity, is a pretty queer-coded experience. But this is not the case from Mike and Garrett's perspective; and their experience of sexuality is just as valid as any other. The story of two self-identified straight men leaning into their newly discovered feelings for one another and being open to exploring their evolving relationship (while still largely identifying as straight) captivated just about everyone on first read, sparking serious and important conversations about the fluid nature of sexuality and the many different ways to experience it that are still relevant today. State wildlife resource agencies are often on the front lines of wildlife habitat management and conservation on private lands by providing technical expertise and custom-tailored programs to help wildlife and people. But each state has its own unique approach. To learn more about these approaches, we're going to be taking a tour of state-led private land programs around the country in the next few episodes! To get us started, Adam visited with Ray Aberle, the private lands program manager with the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the director of the Private Lands Working Group of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. Ray shared some really interesting insights about the approaches states use across the country for private lands work and then discussed the specific programs he oversees in Colorado. Moderation: Nabil Atassi

It's the home to The Ultimate Sales Machine book, which was voted in the top 110 most recommended marketing and sales books. Troy Aberle is a Coach for Chet Holmes International. He also runs a life and business strategy company. In this episode… How do you double your sales in 12 months? Will you increase marketing spending to reach more potential customers for more sales? What if there's a way to double your sales and not spend more on customer acquisition? The Dream 100 is the fastest, least expensive way to do so. The Dream 100 is the strategy that has doubled the sales of more companies than any other. It is based on the principle that there are fewer better buyers than there are all buyers. That means marketing and selling to your Dream 100 is cheaper than marketing and selling to all buyers. Unfortunately, many people do not understand the concept of Dream 100 and how to use it to multiply their sales. Don't want to be one of them? Listen to this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast with Dr. Jeremy Weisz featuring Amanda Holmes and Troy Aberle, both from Chet Holmes International. They discuss the elements of a Dream 100, why it is the fastest and least expensive way to double sales, and how to find your Dream 100 and market to them. Stay tuned.

This week we exhume the unmarked graves of the opening bands! They may not have been signed to a major or gained internationally distributed success, but they were all rock stars to those lucky enough to hear and see them! Anyone who's ever been in a band and played local/regional shows knows that some of the best live acts and musicians (and friends) are met through sharing bills with other acts. These bands all have a common connection to your hosts and guest host: Kent Aberle and their band from the early aughts, Big Jack Pneumatic; through shows and opening, slots shared. We hope we turn you on to some great music that you may have otherwise never had a chance to hear!New to InObscuria? As Naomi's martial arts studio grew, her time creating art dwindled. She enrolled in a low-residency MFA visual arts program to combat the imbalance. But rather than doubling down on the bifurcation between professional and personal, she tore down the “imaginary brick wall.” Infusing her artwork with her perspective from years of martial arts practice and leadership revealed her voice. Now everything is art, and everything informs her art. The struggles with misogyny and patriarchy she endured in blackbelt training is as present in her artwork as the joy—and complexity—of teaching Lakota children living on sovereign nation land an East Asian discipline. Concepts she studied in grad school, like Orientalism and stereotype fetishization, find their way into her instruction, business planning, team training, and even paperwork. Her advice for identifying non-negotiables and building a life around them helps her as much as her students and instructors. And, hopefully, you'll find some guidance for navigating your work and creative life in this episode.
