Se decide si se maniobra Cambio de órbita Cambio de periodo Consideraciones operacionales (impacto en el combustible y en la misión del satélite) MITIGACIÓN Qué se puede hacer antes, para evitar ser un debris Planificar el final de la vida: Motores, tethers, elementos de añadir resistencia Hay varias estrategias, en función de la órbita Reentrada Órbitas cementerio Para ayudar en Active Debris Removal (ADR): Marcadores, luces, pegatinas, enganches, sistemas de reducción del giro (los satélites muertos giran sin control, en general) Técnicas de retirada activa de basura espacial: Contacto Hay técnicas de tirar (son técnicas que no necesitan una sincronización muy compleja, es decir, el «detumbling» puede hacerse con el propio agarre), y técnicas de empujar (técnicas con una sincronización rígida). Tirar (laxos) Las redes con cable Los arpones con cable Un sistema de agarre con cable Empujar (sincronizados) Brazos robot (con o sin sistemas de amortiguamiento) Tentáculos. Sirven para casos en los que haya cierta incertidumbre en el cuerpo a capturar Sin contacto «Pastoreo» con impulsión iónica (los motores se ponen contra el debris — necesita motores al otro lado para compensar) Tractores electrostáticos Láser (mediante transferencia de impulso, o mediante ablación en el debris) Kits de desorbitación. Por ejemplo, con cohetes de combustible sólido, o con kits desplegables, como con cables, o superficies que incrementen la resistencia. Normalmente antes de capturarlos hay que cancelar su giro. Suelen estar girando sin control. Hay varias técnicas también, muchas relacionadas con los métodos anteriores. NORMATIVA Normativa. Vimos hace poco que Kamala Harris creó un marco de prioridades espaciales para Estados Unidos que incluye eliminación de desechos orbitales, pero no es más que una primera piedra Estados Unidos líder en lanzamientos espaciales, muy retrasada en la retirada de basura ¿Cómo se regula este tema? La normativa es muy escasa. No hay realmente nada a nivel internacional que obligue a tratar con el tema. Algunos países lanzadores pueden tener normativa, de forma que sólo lancen objetos que cumplan ciertas características (porque según los tratados en vigor, el estado lanzador es responsable de los daños que provoquen los objetos que lancen). Aparte de los tratados como el Tratado del Espacio Ultraterrestre, hay recomendaciones, que no obligaciones, como las Guías para la Mitigación de la Basura Espacial, del COPUOS, Comité para el Uso Pacífico del Espacio Ultraterrestre, u otra del mismo nombre del INTER-AGENCY SPACE DEBRIS COORDINATION COMMITTEE La Space systems — Space debris mitigation requirements - ISO 24113:2019, que es voluntaria) Locales. Las ECSS, por ejemplo Dos zonas de especial protección: LEO y GEO. Técnicas: reentradas u órbitas cementerio 25 años máximo en órbita Reentrada controlada si la probabilidad de bajas es mayor a 10e-4 EMPRESAS ¿Qué se está haciendo en este campo? El objetivo hace unos años era retirar cosas grandes (ENVISAT y etapas de lanzadores. Básicamente, que no aumente el problema). Para mantener la situación bajo control se estima que el 90-99% debería desorbitar, lo cual excede las cifras actuales. La Space Force quiere colaborar con empresas privadas. Ha mostrado interés, pero de momento habla poco de financiación. El brazo tecnológico de la Fuerza Espacial conocido como SpaceWERX lanzó un programa llamado Orbital Prime que solicita propuestas de empresas privadas e instituciones académicas sobre tecnologías para eliminar desechos espaciales Los equipos pueden ganar premios en la Fase 1 de $250,000 y premios en la Fase 2 de $1.5 millones. Si se selecciona alguno para una demostración en el espacio, el gobierno financiará una parte del coste. INCLUSO EN LA LUNA Por terminar el tema, comentar que aunque el problema es básicamente terrestre, tenemos que tener cuidado en no «exportarlo» a otros cuerpos. Se cumplieron 2 meses desde que empezamos este nefasto papel de "podcasters" con Bruno y ya hay problemas para grabar. Milagrosamente, encontramos la responsabilidad suficiente como para dividirnos las tareas y traerles un poco de la cosita rica de todos los lunes.Un programa al estilo "repaso" donde compartimos los numeros hasta el momento (no sabemos muy bien para qué, pero con tal de rellenar temas vendemos a nuestras madres), y agradecemos su voluntad por desperdiciar 40 minutos a la semana en nuestras conversaciones.Espero que se copen más que con el anterior, ya que como siempre, competimos a ver quien es mejor conductor cochambroso de los dos, y esta vez me toco a mi, Guzmán, llevar adelante estos 20 minutos. Get Paid For Walking with Step Bet Step Bet is the sister to Diet Bet. With Step Bet you put in some money, and it reads the data from your fitness Tracker (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch) and assigns you a goal. You have active days (a smaller goal) and a stretch goal. For me, my goals are  9922 steps for active days and 12, 222 for a stretch days. (Your goals will be different based on your previous days). In a week you have four active days, and two stretch days and one off day. Do that for six weeks and you get a portion of the pot. My current pot has 600 people with a pot of 24,000. If 75% of people fail that means 18,000 will be divided between 150 people with a net of $120 (minus a cut for step bet). If money motivates you this scenario would bring a 300% return on investment (as I put in $40).   The key (for me) is getting up a litter earlier, and at night getting my steps in before doing any other activities (or by watching TV while on a treadmill). The real challenge here is the six weeks of consistency.  Its available on iOs and Andorid (see www.stepbet.com )   Understanding Affirmations I was reading the book Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle and it had one of the best descriptions of why and how they work. In the book Tony states: All day long you carry on a mental conversation with yourself. Psychologists estimate that we think up to 60,000 thoughts a day and that 98 percent of these thoughts are the same ones we had yesterday—most of them negative. In a year, that’s almost 22 million thoughts! The basis for positive thinking and philosophies such as the law of attraction is that the subconscious is amenable to suggestion. People who say that positive thoughts and affirmations don’t work aren’t using them effectively or consistently, or they’re wishing for the positive while thinking about the negative. This is me. I would try them for maybe three days. Mixed messages If a captain gives an order such as “Go east,” then keeps changing his mind—“No, go west … no, go north”—the ship would never get anywhere! This is also why most people get nowhere with their fitness, weight loss, or muscle-building endeavors. Ironically, the very statement “Positive thinking doesn’t work” is a negative suggestion guaranteeing that it won’t work! Again, this is 100% me. The conscious mind is a lot like the captain on the bridge of a ship. The captain sends a command to the engine room. The subconscious mind is like the people down in the engine room. No matter what orders come down from the bridge (conscious mind), the crew obeys, even if the orders are stupid ones that crash the ship into a rocky shore. The reason this happens is that the crew (the subconscious) can’t see where the ship is going; they are simply following orders. Like the ship’s crew, your subconscious mind carries out every command it accepts from your conscious mind. Its sole purpose is to obey your orders, even if you give ones like “I’ll always be fat.” Frequent repetition of thoughts (mental orders) is one certain way to penetrate the subconscious mind. By constantly repeating negative commands such as “I can’t lose weight,” your subconscious will see to it that you never lose weight because that’s its job: to follow your every command literally and without question. If you program your mind with negative suggestions often enough, it will lead you right into cheating on your diet, skipping workouts, or some other form of self-sabotage. Without a target, your subconscious simply steers you toward your dominant thoughts. The subconscious mind is always at work 24 hours a day, whether you direct it consciously or not.  Because of how your subconscious operates, it’s crucial to focus on what you want to achieve, not on what you want to avoid. He mentions in the book that much like weight lifting you need to give affirmations 25-30 days to sink in.  I've never been able to completely buy into Affirmations. To “affirm” something, by dictionary definition, means that you are declaring it to be true. When you say an affirmation over and over again, a couple of things happen. Your sub-conscience gets busy noticing ways to help you achieve your goals.   Because your brain is constantly looking for clues to filter your environment and guide your actions, it will pick up on any available influence. This could mean all the subconscious fears and doubts you haven’t dealt with or even messages in your environment. The reason you need to repeat them is To run efficiently, your brain strengthens its connections every time you think, feel and do. This helps you perform tasks with less energy and more focus. Think about driving a car or riding a bike. It can be awkward at first when you're learning, but after you figure it out, it comes naturally. The Tension of Repeating a "Lie" May Be the Key One article stated, "If you feel uncomfortable about lying to yourself, you’ll want to fix it. You’ll either change the affirmation to make it comfortable, or you’ll change your lifestyle and habits to make the affirmation true.The latter action is the response that will completely transform your life for the better!" While another article suggested adding reality to your affirmations such as: I am frustrated by my eating habits, but I am learning to treat myself with the respect I deserve. I am learning to do better.  I am sad about the fact that I’m still single, but I am learning how to relate with men in a more open, brave, and vulnerable way. I am learning to do better. I am scared about handling this big, new project, but I am learning to have confidence in my ability to achieve my goals. I am learning to do better. These statements aren’t “empty self-praise” or temporary “mood-boosters.” They’re honest, self-respecting assessments about where we’re at, what we’re learning, and what we’re capable of becoming. They are affirmations of truth—and the truth will set you free. One Article on Psychology Today in 2017 stated, "the process of self-affirmation changes the way we think about our tasks or goals, so that we think about our tasks in more abstract/value-related ways, as opposed to concrete, lower-level actions." How Do You Write an Affirmation? One study found that if you have really low self-esteem, doing positive self-esteem can actually BOOST your negative self-esteem as you argue with yourself. I've used other affirmation apps, and this one is the easiest to use, and just seems more thought out and professional. You have access to affirmations from experts (for those who don't want to make up their own), and I just liked using the app. I can see me using this on a daily basis. También tenemos a tu disposición una lista de distribución.Como decíamos, una de las funcionalidades que la comunidad está exprimiendo más es su uso multimedia, y es que aunque parezca mentira cualquier versión de este dispositivo es capaz reproducir Full HD gracias a su aceleración por hardware para la decodificación de video. A continuación vamos a explicar qué y cómo darle dicho uso y disfrutar de un centro de entretenimiento completo y para todos los gustos. Ojo, esto no significa que haya diferentes alternativas pero hemos seleccionado lo que creemos que son las mejores opciones para exprimir tu Raspberry Pi. Allá vamos:Kodi: El cliente multimedia líder.Anteriormente conocido como XBMC(XBOX Media Center) es un software de mediacenter multiplataforma creado bajo licencia GNU/GPL(software libre). Está disponible para las plataformas Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Andorid y IOS de forma nativa. Raspberry Pi en Linux permite ejecutarlo desde las primeras versiones y funciona francamente bien. Este software proporciona una interfaz preparada para utilizarlo desde el sofá de tu salón y todo gira en torno a eso: que tu experiencia reproduciendo contenido(y administrándolo) sea lo más amigable posible.Podemos crear listas de reproducción de Música, imágenes, series, películas, documentales, etc... y mediante Scrapers descargar automáticamente contenido visual para catalogar el contenido multimedia. También podemos utilizar mandos a distancia, utilizar multitud de skins para cambiarle la apariencia, emitir o reproducir vía UPNP e incluso puedes desarrollar tus propia interfaz web para consumir contenido o gestionar Kodi!Si a las funcionalidades básicas le añadimos la posibilidad de instalar addons para visionar(por ejemplo) contenido online nos encontramos con una plataforma difícil de superar ya que ha tenido una acogida especialmente buena por la comunidad.En fin, recomendamos su uso encarecidamente, si quieres descargar las diferentes versiones; puedes hacerlo desde aquí.Para implantarlo en nuestra Raspberry Pi, vamos a proponeros dos posibles configuraciones:Raspbian + Kodi: Es una opción bastante polivalente ya que además de usarlo como media center, sigues teniendo todas las posibilidades que te ofrece Raspbian como distribución Linux.Openelec: Está limitado a su uso como media center pero gracias a ello está más optimizado y se nota en el rendimiento. Ideal en el caso de que tengas claro que solo vas a usar tu Raspberry Pi como media center.Plex: El cliente/servidor multimedia que te sorprenderá.Ya hablamos en este blog de Plex media server para servir contenido multimedia. En este caso hablamos del cliente. Que te permite tener tu contenido multimedia centralizado y disfrutarlo en cualquier dispositivo con una interfaz realmente brillante. Está disponible en las plataformas Windows, Linux Mac Os X, Android e IOS per hay que tener en cuenta que esta vez es un producto comercial aunque empezó como un proyecto hobby. Es muy importante recordar que Plex requiere Plex Media Server arrancado(en un PC o Raspberry Pi 2 por ejemplo) y que la comunidad no está demasiado contenta con esta versión de Plex para Raspberry Pi. Aquí puedes encontrar Rasplex.Retro Pie. Una consola retro de bajo coste:Distribución basada en Raspbian que proporciona el software necesario para jugar a emuladores de consolas como NES, Master System, Super Nintendo, Mega Drive, entre otras... Todo ello mediante una distribución Linux orientada específicamente a ello lo cual nos da una interfaz cómo y amigable para utilizarlo para tal fin y además está totalmente optimizada con lo que ello conlleva en cuanto a rendimiento se refiere. Podremos emplear mandos como los de XBOX 360 o PS3.Si queréis más información es muy recomendable que visitéis el blog de RetroPie.Puedes decargarlo aquí.Moonlight. Jugar a juegos de Steam mediante Gamestreaming:Moonlight(antiguamente llamado Limelight) te permite jugar a tu colección completa de juegos de Steam desde tu PC a cualquiera de tus dispositivos compatibles haciendo streaming sin sacrificar la calidad de tu PC. Está disponible para Android, IOS, OSX, Windows y Linux(y por lo tanto también en Raspberry Pi 2 gracias a un port no oficial). Es muy interesante si dispones de un PC de sobremesa y quieres jugar a tus juegos en el salón con tu Raspberry usando por ejemplo el mando de Xbox 360. Como hemos dicho existe un port no oficial para Raspberry que puedes descargar aquí.Es muy importante dejar claro que para que Raspberry Pi pudiese tener un coste más bajo, la fundación Raspberry decidió no adquirir de origen las licencias Mpeg y VC1 y si se va a utilizar el dispositivo es conveniente adquirirlas en el siguiente sitio.Una recomendación a la hora de tener cualquier tipo de instalación es utilizar la tecnología PLC (Power Line Communications). Esta tecnología nos permite transmitir datos a través de nuestra red eléctrica. Es bastante útil cuando queremos comunicar cualquier dispositivo sin utilizar Wifi. Spaces Gallery offered a project for the GiveCamp volunteers: develop an iPhone app that creates awareness of, and interest in, the gallery.
