**Discussion 4:25**So in honor of the new pope, our man Leo, Colleen has gone into full National Treasure mode... a DaVinci Code extravaganza, if you will, and dove deep into the secrets of the Vatican Archives - A room, with 50 miles of shelving containing documents upon documents of the entire history of the Catholic Church. What secrets can we find? What has been kept hush for thousands of years? Today we'll be discussing only some of the major conspiracy theories surrounding the Vatican. Specifically, we will discuss the three secrets of Fatima, proof of extraterrestrial life, and time machines... FASCIST ATTACKS ON MAYORS, JUDGES & MORE; QR CODES FOR MAJOR RALLIES; PLANNING FOR A PROGRESSIVE FUTURE We start with our great poet Laureate MIMI GERMAN & her usual mystic verse. From Waldport, Oregon, we hear from ousted & now re-instated MAYOR HEIDI LAMBERT about her incredible saga on the way to remaking this pivotal spot in the American MAGA/saga. This far-and-wide astonishing attack on democracy by the MAGA Klan is dissected by co-host MIKE HERSH. Tough questions come from SCOTT KLATT who wants to know why Heide let herself get drafted for Mayor. From the LAProgressive.com we are updated by SHARON KYLE & DICK PRICE on the national assault on the Judiciary & our democratic elections. Then the great MYLA RESON narrates the amazingly absurd arrest of Newark, New Jersey Mayor Ras Baraka & three US Congresspeople for attempting to inspect a prison facility under their jurisdiction. The attack on Mayor Baraka is mourned by DANIELA, who warns us all to carry our birth certificates. Computer pioneer LEE FELSENSTEIN elaborates on his suggestion that rally organizers use business cards with QR codes, printed in special colors, with colored ink & union labels, feeding into local-generated websites. We get a critical whistleblower report from VINA COLLY in southern Ohio. From DR. RUTH STRAUSS we hear that it's illegal for federal agents to follow illegal orders, a Nuremberg Principle that has gained major weight with the rise of Donald Trump. Op Ed News founder ROB KALL then presents the beginning outline of a full progressive program going forward. California Indivisible's MIMI SPREADBURY warns us we must protect programs that mean life/death to so many. The need for unity is emphasized by MELISSA HALL as well as the imperative to protect the separation of church and state. From CHUCK PENACCHIO we hear a warning of “Democracy in Chains” & the weaponization of race and religion by Big Money. The fascist Catholic Opus Dei (see “THE DAVINCI CODE” & its female slaves are illuminated by LYNNE FEINERMAN of “Women Rising” Radio, a discussion we'll pursue next week!!
Christian dystopian thrillers are too few and far between, but author J. A. Webb has a great one for us. Listen in while we chat about his Seekers Series and the second book, Inheritance. note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Mix a corrupt secret society along with a priest on the run, and you've got a great mix. This series promises to be full of amazing twists and turns. Inheritance by J. A. Webb A Dystopian Thriller of Deception, Faith, and the Fight for Truth The Order has been betrayed. The hunters have been loosed. Father Curtis has forsaken his vows. He has left the Order and joined the Seekers, a hidden rebellion dedicated to uncovering the truth long buried by the global church. But walking away from the Order does not mean escaping its reach. When word spreads that a copy of the True Text — the original thirty-nine books of the Creator — has surfaced on the far side of the world, Curtis, Professor Reuel, and Phillip embark on a desperate mission. If they can retrieve the artifact, it could change everything. If they fail, the truth will be lost forever. But the Eye of the Eternal, the secret police of the Order, has already mobilized. Their assassins are relentless. Their power is absolute. And they will stop at nothing to silence the truth. Outnumbered and hunted, Curtis and his allies must risk everything to defy an empire built on deception. But against such overwhelming darkness, is faith enough? Or will their inheritance — humanity's true past — be erased from history once and for all? The war for truth has begun. And the Order will not suffer heretics to live. A Gripping Tale of Power, Deception, and the Courage to Seek Truth

According to The Da Vinci Code, all sorts of wild things happened at the Council of Nicaea in 325 CE. Constantine, the first Christian Roman emperor, chose the books of the New Testament. The role of women in the Church was suppressed. And most importantly, a bunch of powerful bishops decided (by a slim margin) that Jesus Christ was actually divine. As our guest Sara Parvis explains, the Council of Nicaea was indeed a momentous meeting, but for very different reasons. On this epsiode of Ashley On we are joined by a woman whose research and writing have helped reshape modern understanding of the Christian tradition — particularly when it comes to the often-misunderstood figure of Mary Magdalene. Margaret Starbird is the author of several groundbreaking books, including The Woman with the Alabaster Jar, The Goddess in the Gospels, and Mary Magdalene, Bride in Exile. Through her scholarship, Margaret invites us to re-examine the sacred feminine, decode hidden symbolism, and explore the possibility that the Christian story we've inherited may be missing one of its most powerful truths. In Dan Brown's famous book, The DaVinci Code, three books are cited as reference material; Margaret Starbird wrote two of them. Enjoy the show!

This is a little bit of a different format than the traditional podcast. Craig Eliot was giving a presentation to the Southern Colorado Press Club of which our host Dave Moore is a part.Because the news of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America calling Pueblo home is so exciting, Craig has allowed Dave to share his presentation on the podcast. It's a community conversation. The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America is an expansive science and art focused museum to explore the genius of Leonardo da Vinci's contributions to our world. It is not meant as a history museum solely focused on the man himself. The museum location will be at next to the Pueblo Convention Center and Historic Arkansas Riverwalk. This 18,000+ sq ft space will include exhibits, a gift shop and outdoor Cafe Leonardo. Future expansion will include the restored Centennial planetarium. They are hoping to launch by late fall 2025.
Children of AbrahamIf you liked The Da Vinci Code, The Left Behind Series, or The Purpose Driven Life, you'll love Children of Abraham. Children of Abraham is an exciting, entertaining novel about redemption and the failure to redeem. It asks how we, our nations and the world would change if God made his presence undeniably known. A host of larger than life characters, each plagued with deep character flaws like pride, greed and hatred, navigate their lives as mysterious messages from God begin to appear in the media. At first the messages are thought to come from a supreme hacker, but, as they continue, a consensus grows that it just might be the Supreme Being. Christians, Catholics, Muslims, and Jews, the Children of Abraham, are all affected by the messages. The cultures differ-yet one universal message emerges that unites them all.Want to be a guest on Book 101 Review? (4:01) Bible Study: Isaiah 58:1-9a – While it may seem like a condemnation of fasting, this is not so as Jesus himself fasted. Taking up your cross and denying yourself means saying no to yourself. Freedom is the ability to do the right thing and that is the point of fasting, to be free and exercise freedom. Matthew 9:14-15 – If your fasting makes you quarrelsome and difficult don’t bother with it. If your fasting gives you the freedom to be charitable that is good. Jesus talks about being the Bridegroom. (17:30) Break 1 (18:14) Letters: Were there actually angels who had relations with humans? The word “Nephilim” means “fallen ones”. Daryl - I was wondering about the DaVinci Code and wanted to know if Mary Magdalene the wife of Jesus? There is no history in the DaVinci Code. Did Judas conspire with Jesus to have him crucified? No, that is nonsense. Be careful what you name your kids and don’t name your kids “Judas”. (33:47) Break 2 (34:51) Word of the Day: Sacrament (40:59) Phones: Ed - How many times a day could I receive the Eucharist? Gerard - About the Eucharist, in the Passion 2000 years ago, basically Jesus surrendered himself. Does Jesus do the same thing at Mass. Could you clarify? Jane - In the Jubilee Year, what is the deal with indulgence? can you obtain one for yourself and another? Nancy - Organizing a confirmation retreat, any advice on how to explain the sacrament to teens?

Ep 99 - Superbowl 59 and Halftime Show Recap - Kendrick Lamar is a DaVinciIn this episode of Event Horizon, I dive into the highlights of Super Bowl 59: the commercials, the Big Game, and the Apple Music Halftime Show featuring Kendrick Lamar. Unlike past years, which often showcased ads and performances with satanic and ritualistic themes, this year's content took a different turn. The commercials were notably tame, and Kendrick Lamar's halftime performance was a powerful political protest rather than a tribute to Satan.Just as Leonardo da Vinci was known for embedding political and religious messages in his art, as suggested by Dan Brown in The Da Vinci Code, Kendrick Lamar skillfully hides profound messages in his work. The Apple Music Halftime Show was not only a protest and call for revolution but also a metaphorical portrayal of our existence as a "game."If this teaser piques your interest, tune in to the full episode, and don't forget to subscribe!Join The Community Follow us on:Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/quantumAIradioTwitter (X) at @EventHo14339589Instagram at @EventHorizonEmail at mpeter1896@gmail.com Subscribe To My Other Podcasts:Movie Reviews from the Edge - https://www.spreaker.com/show/movie-reviews-from-the-edgeThe Mark Peterson Show - https://www.spreaker.com/show/the_mark_peterson_show Support the Show Did you know you can support the podcast by joining the Spreaker Supporter Club? Unlike many religious groups which encourage people to leave society in order to become sanctified, Opus Dei Founder St. Josemaria Escriva taught that one can become holy through the business of everyday life, not in spite of it.Fr. Luke also shares how his deep faith—and his mother's example of holiness in the midst of suffering—shaped his spiritual journey, guiding him to a vocation in the priesthood where he would ultimately serve as Vicar of Opus Dei for the West.Fr. Luke has a PhD in Moral Philosophy and served in two papal synods. He also is a former Vicar of Opus Dei for the West. Don't miss this inspiring conversation about vocation, leadership, and living out your faith in the modern world. Is it the end of the road for reality TV's first family? Marina gives Richard a crash course on the dizzying world of the Kardashians. Dan Brown is back. The literary phenomenon behind The Da Vinci code returns with a new book, the phenomenally successful author behind Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code and more returns with The Secrets of Secrets later in the year. The reception to his books hasn't always been kind, but is the criticism fair or is it once again an example of critics and the public wanting different things? We're now just a few weeks out from the Oscars. It isn't always the best in their respective categories that win with jockeying and the politics of Hollywood playing a major role. Welcome to Day 2556 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom – Theology Thursday – Paul's Lost Letters – I Dare You Not To Bore Me With The Bible. Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2556 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2556 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Today is the 41st lesson in our segment, Theology Thursday. Utilizing excerpts from a book titled: I Dare You Not To Bore Me With The Bible written by Hebrew Bible scholar and professor the late Dr. Michael S Heiser, we will invest a couple of years going through the entire Bible, exploring short Biblical lessons that you may not have received in Bible classes or Church. The Bible is a wonderful book. Its pages reveal the epic story of God's redemption of humankind and the long, bitter conflict against evil. Yet it's also a book that seems strange to us. While God's Word was written for us, it wasn't written to us. Today's lesson is: “Paul's Lost Letters.” Unless you've been on an extended vacation from popular culture over the last couple of years, you know there's been a lot of recent discussion about how we got the New Testament. Dan Brown's blockbuster novel The Da Vinci Code based its conspiratorial plot in part on the notion that other gospels had been eradicated by spiteful church authorities and an emperor openly partial to orthodoxy. The success of the novel prompted many churchgoers to ask whether or not all the books that should be included in the New Testament actually were. To be sure, Dan Brown took a lot of liberties with facts in his story. But what if we're not dealing with fiction? The New Testament itself tells us that there were books written by apostles that didn't make it into in the Bible. Surprised? Let's take a look. 1 Corinthians 5:9 In 1 Corinthians, Paul himself mentions an earlier letter he wrote to this same church: “I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people” (1 Cor 5:9). While some interpreters have argued that Paul was referring to the letter he was currently writing (1 Corinthians), most acknowledge that this explanation is weak. Taken at face value, 1 Corinthians 5:9 tells us that Paul had written to this church before—but that letter has not survived and thus is not part of the New Testament. Colossians 4:16 In Paul's letter to the church at Collosae, he says, “And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and see that you also read the letter from Laodicea” (Col 4:16). What was this letter from Laodicea? What happened to it? The phrase “letter from Laodicea” is a literal translation of the Greek and suggests that the letter came from Laodicea. This is a bit misleading, though. The phrase does not necessarily mean that this letter was written by someone in Laodicea to Paul or to the Colossians. Colossians 4:16 tells us that letters to churches were circulated, and so it may be that this Laodicean letter was written by Paul and sent to the Christians at Colossae—like the Colossian letter was to be sent to the believers in Laodicea. Some scholars have speculated that this letter isn't actually missing. The region of Laodicea was also identified with the city of Ephesus, indicating that the letter from Laodicea may actually be the epistle to the...
We're back with our beloved (by both you and us) Bad Book Club series, this time with a revisit to one of the writers of all time: Dan Brown. We read The Da Vinci Code so you don't have to! Listen for a brutal takedown of Brown's factual inaccuracies, being too horned up for his own characters, incredibly childish writing style, and more. Trust us, this one is fun. Apple TV+'s first drama of the year is Prime Target, a show promising mathematical mayhem and a lot of conspiracy. In this thriller, Cambridge prodigy Ed unearths the “secret power” of prime numbers—only to see his research torched, his professor dead, and a shadowy organization named Kaplar beckoning. Think A Beautiful Mind meets The Da Vinci Code. We break down Episodes 1 and 2, question the plot holes, and decide if this 'prime number' puzzle is worth solving—or just pretending to be smart. Author Matt Scott discusses his political thriller series, Surviving the Lion's Den. All three books in this trilogy—Surviving the Lion's Den, The Iranian Deception, and The Ayatollah Takedown—are available now. The series opens with a race against time. Can the main characters make it safely out of Iran in the midst of a political coup to overthrow Iran's Supreme Leader—a coup orchestrated by the U.S. government? Inspired by Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, Matt set about to write a series that would explore what it looks like to be inside Iran during a regime change. The books feature CIA operatives, Iranian insiders, international intrigue, geopolitical conflicts, and plenty of fast-paced tension.
The next sequel we will discuss is "Dennis the Menace Strikes Again". For it, I chatted with Hollywood Hairstylist Emanuel Millar. Emanuel has done the hair for the likes of Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie, Bill Murray, Johnny Depp, and more, but his path to get to that 1st credit on a Tina Turner music video was quite interesting. We talked about the typical day as a hairstylist on set, the world traveling he did, Don Rickles, his books "The Kindest Cut" Volume 1 and 2 (link below), and lots more. This was one job I was fascinated by, so it was great to chat with Emanuel. While this was one of the most disappointing treasure hunts we've been on, the stunning Icelandic landscapes and views almost made up for it. We'd suggest renaming this movie to "Maybe the Real Treasure Is the Friends and Family We Met Along the Way." While it tried to nod to Indiana Jones and The Da Vinci Code, there's a reason those movies don't include a baking montage. The pacing felt as uneven as the terrain they crossed. On the bright side, we learned a valuable lesson: always leave a cryptic letter for your children when you discover your next treasure. We did agree this movie featured the best ball gown of the season! Join us for Episode 15 of our snarky adventure as we watch, discuss, and judge Hallmark Christmas movies. [School of Movies 2024] Nolan-Vember continues with Christopher's fifth film. Now, you would think, following the momentous success of Batman Begins, his period piece about feuding magicians that remains one of his best tricks to date would have been a stellar success... Wolverine's Hugh Jackman versus Dark Knight Christian Bale, and for the low, low price of $40 million; this is a recipe for insane box office gross from the man who would eventually go toe to toe with the plastic pink lady and save cinema in 2023. However, it garnered a paltry $109m from a general audience who in 2006 would far rather go see The Da Vinci Code, Night at the the Museum and the dancing penguins of Happy Feet (also Borat was popular; my wife). This means the odds are a high percentage of our listeners have not seen this film. We would urge you all to do so at once. Spend a proper evening with a big TV in a darkened living rom with the volume high and intense. This is not a film to catch in ten minute chunks on your phone, nor to pass by at Blockbuster on your way to grab Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. An atmosphere thicker than a whale-omelette, twin obsessions to be the best conjurer the Victorian era had going, spies, stolen encoded journals, Gothic secrets and tragedy, David Bowie doing a Serbian accent as Nikola Tesla, the wizard on the mountain, murder after murder... this film will stick to you like your shadow.
