Polygamy is on the rise in a post-Christian world along with other accoutrements of paganism. Occasionally, homeschooling families will migrate in that direction. But, why the move towards eccentric cults and cultic ways? We offer a few reasons on this edition of Generations, and biblical basis for calling polygamy an affront to God's law order. This program includes:1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Trump is Time's "Person of the Year", Planned Parenthood abortion mills could face mass closures, Why hasn't Biden fired DOJ personnel over "selective prosecution"?)2. Generations with Kevin Swanson

Welcome to Family Forum Friday on the Homeschooling Families Podcast. Today, Leslie Nunnery is joined by Erin Chase of $5 Dinners. We imagine that you're at least a month into your back to homeschool routine, and we hope you're getting comfortable with your curriculum and general plan for school, but have you got your plan in place for all the other things that you are privileged to do for your family? Today, we're going to dive into a question that many are asking about this time—in the middle of everything else I have to do, how can I feed my family well and cost-effectively? Erin Chase is going to give us some insight on meal planning, prep, and even money-saving tips so you can have a confident plan of action for the first breakfast, second breakfast, and the myriad of other meals your family asks for each day. Meet The Guest:Erin is on a mission to help busy, overwhelmed home chefs learn to spend less money on groceries and get organized in the kitchen. On today's podcast, David and Leslie will revisit a topic that has proven to be super helpful to families as they've talked about it over the last couple of years: goals. Every person and every family has a goal whether they've actually taken time to think about it or not, and that goal is what drives their activities. They also dive into what happens when we don't take the time to think about how our actions go in line with what we want to achieve within our families, and a whole lot more. For most families who listen to the Homeschooling Families podcast and who are members of Teach Them Diligently 365 or attend Teach Them Diligently Events, a primary goal for them is the discipleship of their children, raising them to know and love God and people. I wanted to make sure that you're aware of a fantastic discipleship resource that's available each week within the Homeschool Subjects newsletter in partnership with our friends at Voice of the Martyrs. The Taste and See homeschool prayer and Geography section publishes each Sunday night and highlights a country of the world where our brothers and sisters in Christ are persecuted. We've packaged it as both as geography resource, where you can study where that country is, what the culture is like and even taste what the food is like, while you also get more insight into what life is like for believers in that land, so you can pray for them as a family more effectively. To get access to that resource, make sure you subscribe to Homeschool Subjects at HomeschoolSubjects.com and that you request your free Global Prayer Guide from Voice of the Martyrs at TeachThemDiligently.net/VOM. TOPICS INCLUDED IN THIS EPISODE: Taste and See Discipleship Resource Your goals show through your activities. You have goals, whether you've consciously considered them or not. The dangers of floating without clearly defined goals. How different benchmarks can bring a lot of peace to your days. How quickly idols can steal your joy. The benefits of Heart Schooling. Oh boy, do we have a treat for you today! Our team here at Read-Aloud Revival has been hard at work on a brand new booklist for you and I've invited Kortney Garrison and Kara Anderson from the RAR team back to this side of the podcast to tell you all about it.Nature study can be an intimidating subject that carries a lot of expectations in the homeschooling world. It's something we want to do, but it can get pushed to the side because we don't always have the energy to tramp around the woods with a watercolor set.So this project started with our team asking, how can we simplify nature study and make it more likely to happen? Could it really be as simple as reading a book and doing an activity? We think so! And that's where our brand new booklist and activity guide comes in.In this episode, you'll hear: Why we chose 12 books per season, and why you don't have to read them all How we paired books and activities to make them as accessible as we could How the guide brings know, do, and love to nature study Learn more about Sarah Mackenzie: Read Aloud Revival Waxwing Books Subscribe to the Newsletter Mentioned in This Episode: Get the Nature Study Booklist and Activity Guide RAR #220: Essentialism for Homeschoolers RAR #177: Teach Your Kids to Think Like a Scientist (with Books You Already Have) RAR #62: Inspiring a Love of Nature Through Books, Greta Eskridge

Y'all, I'm so excited for you to hear this episode with Katie J.Trent! With school back in full swing and the stresses of COVID possibly keeping kid's home again, I know Katie's message will give you practical wisdom you're searching for if you're trying to decide whether or not homeschooling is the right fit for your family. I know Katie's message will equip you with much of what you need to know to get started. She is such an inspiration to parents who are scared to homeschool because of all of the unknowns. But, even if homeschooling isn't on your radar, Katie's story is such a powerful testimony of how God worked in a young girl's life while she was living in a dysfunctional home. Her dad abandoned their family when Katie was in middle school and left her mom to raise five kids alone. Katie was confused because of the vastly different faith of her parents and had prayed for God to give her clarity about what was true. Then she married and had a very rocky first couple of years until God intervened. She and her husband knew they wanted a different life than what they'd seen growing up, but didn't know how to get there. Eventually Katie left a thriving career in school counseling and mental health program management so she and her husband could bring her kiddos home. Katie's mission is to inspire women to grow in their faith, strengthen their families and simplify their homeschooling journeys. She has a book coming out in October titled, Dishing Up Devotions: 36 faith Building Activities for Homeschooling Families, that is a great resource for anyone wanting to grow their children's faith through interactive , fun and practical devotions. For over 100 years, American culture has had an ever-increasing infatuation with electronic media and entertainment. A handful of thoughtful skeptics in the past contemplated the long-term effects on family, society, and individuals. Now we are reaping the consequences as more and more studies confirm what some had rightly predicted. That is, our ability to be attentive is steadily eroding. We are becoming less attentive to our families, study, work, and most importantly, to God. What are the results and what will it take to regain the ground that has been lost? Yvette Hampton talks with Phillip Telfer, homeschool dad, pastor, author, film producer, and director of Media Talk 101 about these issues. In this interview, Phillip doesn't just address the problems with digital devices, he offers many solutions on how to overcome those problems and take back the hearts of your family members. She writes and speaks on homeschool, motherhood, parental rights, the culture war and more and has a passion for encouraging and inspiring women to live the life they were designed to live. Aby and her husband also write for the outdoor industry about their adventures together, showing their kids the Creator by spending time in His creation. About the evil that happens when we deviate from God's design. And about how we have a God that mourns because he loves his people. They will be home with me, praying for the preborn babies, rather than in a public school system that tells them they get to choose for themselves what is good and evil, rather than looking to God for truth." - Aby Rinella You can connect with Aby Rinella at CalledtotheTop.com.
