Today's guest is full of fascinating stories, and I know you're going to enjoy this podcast!Jane is a correspondent for Business Insider, who lives just outside New York City and works from home. Originally from the UK, she has worked in the US for 19 years. Business Insider is an online media outlet that as its name suggests focuses on tech and finance. However, there is a division called Insider Life, which is where Jane works. She focuses on real life; human interest stories, but, because much of the audience of Business Insider are people who are high achievers and go-getters, they are looking for stories that are going to help them through their life and work - stories where they can learn, be inspired or take away a message. Jane has always wanted to work in journalism, most likely because her dad was a journalist – an editor, in Darlington in the northeast of England. There was never really anything else on her radar. When she finished university, after a short stint working in PR, she got a job in a local newspaper. From there she moved up, and because of having lived with her journalist dad, she knew how the business worked, she moved through several jobs and crossed off the stuff she needed to pass the modules to become a qualified Westminster Press journalist (exactly the same training as me!) As you'll hear, Jane has had a fascinating career working in different areas of the country and with different news outlets, including Bella magazine at one point. But as you'll hear, what she loved most was being there for breaking news; covering stories and events as they happened. We talk about the time she worked with Piers Morgan – which is extremely interesting – hearing from someone who has worked with him. Jane talks about the travelling she has done too before she was asked to go and work on a relaunch of the National Inquirer, based in the US. And of course, she jumped at the opportunity. Jane shares some funny, crazy and sad stories that she's written about during her career. I know you'll be looking forward to her coming on as a guest in the future. GUEST OVERVIEW: Morgan Lerette is an author, a combat veteran and former Blackwater employee who has been deployed to the Middle East multiple times. In 1999 Lerette joined the Air Force and participated in the Ground Offensive in Iraq in 2003. From 2004 - 2005, he was a private military contractor (PMC) for Blackwater – the most notorious contractor in Iraq. Later he became an Army intelligence officer and served in Iraq in 2009 – 2010. He later attended The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, earning a master's degree in international banking and finance. His irreverently honest memoir, Guns, Girls, and Greed: I Was a Blackwater Mercenary in Iraq, delves into the complexities of private armies in combat zones and explores the bonds forged by war. Morgan's writing has been featured in or contributed to - just to name a few - The Fletcher Forum, The War Horse, Yahoo Finance, The Military Times, Business Insider, Outdoor Magazine, The National Inquirer, Task and Purpose, Soldier of Fortune, Stars and Stripes, We are the Mighty, Coffee or Die Magazine and more. An extraordinary phase of the 2024 race unfolding this week as Donald Trump finds himself stuck in a Manhattan courtroom and the focus of historic Supreme Court arguments, while President Biden sprints across a major battleground state. Senator Claire McCaskill and former White House Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri zero in on that stunning split screen and what it could mean for the presidential race. Plus, Claire and Jen talk to constitutional law professor Michele Goodwin about the chipping away of reproductive freedom and how that could also shape the election.Further reading: Here is the map Jen mentioned, showing where reproductive rights stand, state by state.

Ben Stein and co-host Judah Friedman are joined by former Trump EPA chief of staff to discuss the lack of adults and courage among disillusioned youth at Colombia University. We all agree Colombia has really gone downhill since producing the one and only Ben Stein. Plus, Pecker's testimony against president trump falls flat and makes clear that the New York case is as unserious as the National Inquirer is about politics. And we continue to ask the question, where are republicans in stepping up to call out the absurdity of the Left and ruthlessly defend our greatest ally – Israel. Bueller? Bueller? Unfortunately, the Dems are better at the power game, and so much more.
KFI's Blake Troli talks about LA County DA George Gascon's press conference today where he announced charges for the suspect in the shooting of a LA County Sheriff's Deputy and the Studio City Metro Stabbing. TRUMP'S --- . 'PECKER' --- . GOES TO --- . TRIAL!!! .
"We have our jury,” announced Judge Juan Merchan late Thursday as the historic trial against the former president continues. Senator Claire McCaskill and former White House Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri explore the heart of the case and underscore the finer points of jury selection (voir dire) with former US attorney and law professor Joyce Vance. Plus, a look at Biden's three-day stop in Pennsylvania and Speaker Johnson's big bet on bringing foreign aid votes to the floor this weekend.
Veteran federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann welcomes his colleague and co-author Melissa Murray for a special two-part episode of Prosecuting Donald Trump. Their new book: The Trump Indictments: The Historic Charging Documents with Commentary, collects the four unprecedented indictments against Donald Trump and features extensive footnotes, commentary and a cast of characters from the co-authors.In this first episode, Andrew and Melissa listen to audio of the indictments as recorded by acclaimed actors Glenn Close and Liam Neeson. Andrew and Melissa share insights from two of the four criminal indictments facing the former president: the DC election interference case brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith, and the New York case against Donald Trump, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Jen and Kim began recording a book review about Sometimes I Lie. It started with good intentions but ended up in the dumpster fire. So, they moved on to Kim's potential side hustle of rowing in slow motion on Only Fans. No, Kim isn't going to do that. They discussed the teacher who made A MILLION dollars showing her bootie and cootie. Also, according to the National Inquirer, there is trouble in paradise because Ben isn't picking up the poo. Stay tuned to Kim's rant about the research regarding learning styles not being real. This episode's food selection is from Say-Boy Restaurant, located at 1228 Country Club Rd #10, Fairmont, WV. Open Daily 11 AM-8 PM. Here's what we ordered: Shared: Almond crusted walleye, salmon cakes, Broasted chicken and potatoes, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked sweet potato, bacon braised Brussels sprouts, salad, assorted homemade cheesecakes: Peanut butter, Almond Joy, and classic cherry In this episode, Matt reveals that he's found the light and error of his ways and attempts to convert Kelsey to some of that old time religion, a fellowship that is definitely not a cult in any way, with the reading of a really extremely long list. Kelsey audibly gulps at the number of Dont's on said list. The Main Creeps also try to attempt loopholes so they can read the National Inquirer, profess love of tactical shorts and sodas named after wine, and Matt tried sweet potatoes against his interests. Creeps, remember to keep your happy face, don't check out during the song, and stay away from Phyllis.

EPISODE 163: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:41) The apparent final witness who could get Donald Trump arrested for paying off Stormy Daniels is named Pecker. DAVID Pecker, former publisher of the National Inquirer and the middleman in the Catch-and-Kill process by which Trump buried his infidelity problem before the 2016 election, returned to Alvin Bragg's Manhattan Grand Jury to confirm a) Trump paid her off and b) Trump knew it was done to influence the outcome of the election. Silence out of the Special Counsel's office; Trump slammed on Fox and Fox Business for his Waco speech; and why Trump's history with Mike Tyson explains Trump's cult unshakable adherence to him even though he's such a putz. B-Block (15:38) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Was turmoil in Israel quieted or worsened when the Prime Minister said he was staving off a "civil war"? The far right calls the Nashville shooting a false flag - until the shooter was ID'd as Trans and that became their only headline. (19:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: C-Block (26:15) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: The whole crowd at New York Bully Crew needs our donations - they're out of food (27:15) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Newly recovered from an archaeological dig in my storage unit: the ORIGINAL unedited copy of the greatest TV sports outtake of all time: Gary Miller's SOCCER BREAKDOWN.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dr. Peterson's extensive catalog is available now on DailyWire+: https://utm.io/ueSXh Alex Story and Dr. Jordan B. Peterson discuss biology and overpopulation, the misguided thinking behind eugenics, and the tendency of politics to weaponize our totalitarian impulses. Alex Story was an Olympic class rower for Great Britain, and attended the University of Cambridge. There he set the rowing course record against Oxford in the 1998 Boat Race, a record held for multiple decades. After suffering a career-ending back injury, Story turned his attention to politics, and quickly became a notable voice in the Conservative party. He stood for parliamentary office three times, representing some of the poorest areas in the country. Today he works in the finance sector as head of sales for a US brokerage firm. He has also become a writer, seeing his articles published weekly in magazines such as the National Inquirer and Express. —Links— Books Discussed in this episode: Fabianism and the Empire: A Manifesto by the Fabian Societyhttps://www.amazon.com/Fabianism-Empire-Manifesto-Fabian-Society/dp/1375898779 The Descent of Manhttps://www.amazon.com/Descent-Man-Great-Minds/dp/1573921769 The Essential Keyneshttps://www.amazon.com/Essential-Keynes-John-Maynard/dp/1846148138 For Alex Story: Alex Story on Twitter https://twitter.com/alexpstory —Chapters— (0:00) Coming Up(1:05) Intro(3:36) Fatherhood, Manning Up(10:05) Rowing, In Pursuit of Glory(17:05) Privilege and Marxism(22:51) The Motivation of Power(28:00) Love Elevates(39:32) The Issue with the Dominance Hierarchy(47:36) Stability and Transformation(54:06) Predators and Protesters(55:43) Eugenics and the Imposition of Power(1:15:22) The Connection with Marxism(1:19:49) Orwell, Socialist Overpopulation(1:28:54) The Four Pillars of England's Educational Framework // SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL //Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/jordanbpeterson.com/youtubesignupDonations: https://jordanbpeterson.com/donate // COURSES //Discovering Personality: https://jordanbpeterson.com/personalitySelf Authoring Suite: https://selfauthoring.comUnderstand Myself (personality test): https://understandmyself.com // BOOKS //Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life: https://jordanbpeterson.com/Beyond-Order12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos: https://jordanbpeterson.com/12-rules-for-lifeMaps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief: https://jordanbpeterson.com/maps-of-meaning // LINKS //Website: https://jordanbpeterson.comEvents: https://jordanbpeterson.com/eventsBlog: https://jordanbpeterson.com/blogPodcast: https://jordanbpeterson.com/podcast // SOCIAL //Twitter: https://twitter.com/jordanbpetersonInstagram: https://instagram.com/jordan.b.petersonFacebook: https://facebook.com/drjordanpetersonTelegram: https://t.me/DrJordanPetersonAll socials: https://linktr.ee/drjordanbpeterson #JordanPeterson #JordanBPeterson #DrJordanPeterson #DrJordanBPeterson #DailyWirePlus

“Never believe what you publish, and never publish what you believe.” These are the words of wisdom echoed by tabloid journalists everywhere… and maybe even by “legitimate” reporters? In an age where fake news persists, by what skewered code does the media abide? What lines will journalists cross, and who might they hurt in the process? We're talking bloodsuckers, airplanes, and the National Inquirer in our first movie THE NIGHT FLIER (1997), a Stephen King adaptation in which Miguel Ferrer finds himself hot on the trail of a serial killer / vampire pilot. Then we jump ahead to Dan Gilroy's Oscar-nominated NIGHTCRAWLER (2014), where Jake Gyllenhaal plays a sociopath keenly manipulating the staff of a failing local news network, also starring Rene Russo, Riz Ahmed, and Bill Paxton. There are millions of right ways to run a business...there are a few wrong ways How we can help first depends on what your intentions with the company are: Sell in 3-5 years? max profits, max tax exposure, increase the multiple Legacy/Generational company? minimize tax exposure, setup for long-term stable return. David Pecker got caught red-handed this week trying to shake down the world's richest man, Jeff Bezos of Amazon fame. Ouch! He Might as well have gotten his pecker caught in his zipper! Dead-To-Rights. If you're going to commit extortion --- don't do it via an email. Doesn't leave much wiggle room to spin it any other way than for what it is --- extracting a concession or a takedown of another through the use of an overt or implied threat of force or serious mayhem. Apparently, the National Inquirer had some photos of Jeff Bezos in a sexually-compromising way. Having one's body parts ricochetted all over the internet is not anyone's idea of a fun time. The Inquirer gave Bezos an ultimatum, either "kill" a story the Washington Post was about to run - (Bezos is the owner of the Post) - regarding the National Inquirer's ties or links to Saudia Arabia or the Inquirer would publish the compromising photos of Bezos. The National Inquirer's attorney went on a morning news show today - Sunday-Feb. 10th - and tried to spin this to downplay the overt extortion present here. He explained that the Post's story was not factually correct and that this whole thing was nothing more than negotiations between attorneys to settle this dispute amicably. Bull-hockey. Extortion is usually present where something of "value" is extorted from your target or victim. In the case of the Mafia - they'll burn your business down unless you pay them a "protection" fee for your business - ostensibly to ensure that your business remains free from attack or harm by potential evil-doers. It's a scam. It's nothing more than a racket. It's extortion. That's precisely the case here. Only the thing of "value" is not monetary, but rather the "reputation"

Today's episode welcomes back one of our favorite guest experts, former prosecutor and current law professor Randall Eliason of the Sidebars blog, who will help us break down what exactly a "perjury trap" is -- and whether Robert Mueller is laying one for the President. Of course, when we have a guest this good, we also have to take advantage of his expertise in a couple of other areas. So we begin by checking in on the news of the day: Mueller has already reportedly offered immunity to David Pecker, the CEO of the National Inquirer, whom we discussed at great length on Episode 203 in connection with the Cohen plea. After that, we delve into Rudy Giuliani's contention that Mueller is laying a "perjury trap" for the President. Is that a thing? Is that what he's doing? Listen and find out! After that, we revisit the issue of reporters and confidential sources, where Professor Eliason has been a consistent voice opposing a federal privilege. Is that a view he still holds? There's only one way to know for sure! Finally, it's time for the answer to Thomas Takes the Bar Exam, where our intrepid hero tries to inch closer to the coveted 60% mark with a question about torts. During his entire childhood, Hougan Catela was exposed to several Christian based religions including Pentecostal, Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Southern Baptist and Nazarene and possesses considerable knowledge of the Bible. His intense exposure to several traditions throughout his life developed his deep spiritual connection so much so, that Hougan Catela studied other esoteric paths including Freemasonry, Enochian, Native American Hopi and Vodou.Shane was literally called from Haiti in Oct 1994 with then partner, Sallie Ann Glassman and was told kanzo initiation had been arranged for them and when could they arrive to Haiti? Although he had not been searching for this path, nor asked anyone to inquire about initiation, he could not deny the Lwa and decided to kanzo as Hougan Supwin in Nov, 1994 in the suburb of Bel-Air, Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, West Indies. This took place about 3 weeks after the United States invaded Haiti and re-installed Jean-Claude Aristide as president. It was at this time Hougan Catela gave his life and full commitment to Bondje and to Vodou. His lineage at that time was through his Papa Edgar Jean-Louis and Papa Silva Joesef. When they returned to the United States, Hougan Catela and his then partner founded and began Island of Salvation Botanica and The Simbi-Sen Jak Ounfo, in New Orleans, LA.Hougan Catela co-owned and operated Island of Salvation Botanica, conducted all weekly Vodou ceremonies in the temple, established the first public ceremonies on behalf of the City of New Orleans to combat crime, created and conducted the now famous public ceremonies to protect the city from hurricanes, until December of 2001.During this span of 8 years, Hougan Catela made numerous visits to Haiti to further his knowledge and studies in the Haitian Vodou tradition as often as possible. Due to the dedicated and service to the Vodou religion Hougan Catela was creating through his Botanica and Vodou Temple, he was invited to Australia in 1997 to teach and conduct seminars on the Vodou tradition, which he humbly accepted. He provided almost 3 weeks worth of seminars and teachings of the Vodou religion in Sydney and Melbourne.Further, Hougan Catela has been filmed and featured on such networks as Discovery, Discovery Medical, The Learning Channel, Travel Channel and such shows as Sightings, Local Broadcast and featured in NY Times, Cond-Nast Traveler, National Inquirer, Time Picayune and many more mass media outlets. In 2002, he was told by the Lwa he had to go into the djevo again and complete the process that started 8 yrs ago, but this time to receive the additional tools he had not received the first time. After he consulted the Lwa, numerous Mambos, and Hougans about this request, he then asked Houngan Yabofe and Mambo Marie Charles to take him back to Haiti and place him in the djevo.Hougan Shane or Hougan Catela completed this process in Jan. 2003, was initiated and ordained as Hougan Asogwe and became a member of Sosyete la Belle Fleur de Ginea (of which a branch is currently located in New Orleans). Hougan Catela currently lives and works in New Orleans as a Systems Engineer for a large corporation and provides numerous Vodou services on behalf of Erzulie’s Authentic Voudou and New Orleans Mistic Botanica.http://ghostanddemonhunter.planetparanormal.com/wp-content/downloads/C09-13-09.mp3
