Meet our friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping some highlights. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts: ihr.fm/3InlkL8 Insider Trading and Dictator Trump Hour 1 of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show kicks off with Clay Travis solo, as Buck Sexton is on baby watch. Clay updates listeners on Buck and Carrie Sexton's baby situation, mentioning the excitement and anticipation surrounding the delivery. The show then dives into the latest breaking news, highlighting the positive trend in inflation rates, which have softened to 2.4%, the lowest since COVID-19. Clay discusses the implications of this economic shift, including the recent budget resolution passed by the House, which aims to facilitate a significant tax cut and move into reconciliation. The conversation shifts to international trade, focusing on the escalating tariffs on China, now at 145%, and the impact on the stock market. Clay provides a detailed analysis of the roller coaster ride in the stock market, noting the record highs and subsequent downturns. He includes audio clips from Stuart Varney and CNN, emphasizing the favorable inflation numbers and the reasons behind them, such as stable gasoline prices. Clay also touches on Trump's strategic moves in the trade war, including the 90-day pause on tariffs for other countries and the isolation of China. He explains the potential benefits for American jobs and businesses, and the likelihood of new trade agreements with countries like England, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. The show includes a segment on financial advice, where Clay encourages listeners to treat their stock investments like their homes, avoiding emotional decisions and focusing on long-term growth. He shares his personal investment strategy and advises against day trading. Additionally, Clay addresses the criticism from the ladies of "The View," who accuse Trump of insider trading and attempting to tank the economy for his billionaire friends. He debunks these claims, explaining the public nature of Trump's comments and the broader economic context. Steve Moore: A Bad Time to Sell Clay highlights the latest economic news, including inflation softening to 2.4%, the lowest rate in four years, and the House passing a budget resolution that includes tax cuts and increased border security. The stock market's recent fluctuations are discussed, with a focus on the impact of Trump's tariffs on China, now raised to 145%. Clay interviews Stephen Moore: President Trump's Former Senior Economic Advisor and Co-Founder of the Committe to Unleash Prosperity joins the show to explain the Trump economy and why he's three steps ahead on the chess board. Moore provides insights into Trump's economic strategies, emphasizing the importance of isolating China due to its predatory practices. Moore advises listeners to maintain long-term investments in the stock market despite short-term volatility, highlighting the historical resilience of the American economy. The conversation delves into the complexities of international trade, comparing free trade with allies like Europe and Japan to the challenges posed by China's unfair practices. Moore supports Trump's approach of reciprocity in trade deals, aiming to create a level playing field. Clay addresses criticisms from "The View," debunking claims of insider trading and explaining the public nature of Trump's comments. He engages with listeners' calls, discussing topics such as the impact of tariffs, the earned income tax credit, and the legal rights of illegal immigrants. Democracies and Death Cults Journalist and author Douglas Murray joins the show to discuss his new book "On Democracies and Death Cults: Israel and the Future of Civilization." Murray highlights the importance of recognizing the stakes in the Middle East and the need to distinguish between good and evil. He criticizes the ignorance and self-hatred prevalent among younger generations, urging a return to historical literacy and a defense of Western values. Our show opens with the Designated Liar Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) trying his best to spread as much #FearPorn as possible. It used to work better before so many Americans truly began to wake up from their stupor. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the fearmongering isn't helpful, but does indicate how many feel they will be caught up in the discovery of their own fraud. Stuart Varney also wonders why so many are upset about the work DOGE and Musk are doing? We have a whistleblower who said they were encouraged to register illegals as being permanently disabled so they could collect long-term Social Security disability. President Trump and Elon Musk did a joint interview on Fox News where they address many of attacks from the Left. Interestingly, Musk makes the same observation we have made here, that the Left often accuses the other side of the very crimes they have committed. Maybe the word is getting out that even activist judges are not going to be able to stop the DOGE team. Judge Chutkan told 14 Democrat Attorneys General that there case had not merit in stopping the internal audit by Musk and his team. More trash is taking itself out to the curb. This time it's inside the FDA with Jim Jones. Also, so many public sector employees are crying about losing their jobs as if it never occurred to them that they might not be needed. Plus, we can thank the Biden administration for giving Trump the power to fire people, due to prior lawsuits the Biden regime won in Spicer v. United States of America. A massive HCQ study that demonized the drug during COVID-19 was just retracted. Like everything else about that disastrous time for Public Health, they are working overtime to re-write history. Lunatic Leftist Jennifer Rubin gives us a perfect example of how the Legacy/mainstream media refuses to learn. She recently mocked MAGA supporters as being entirely illiterate. Maybe that's why polling for Trump continues to surge, including a new poll showing how he has flipped the electorate. We close with comments from Nicole Shanahan, who has rejected the Democrat party and said many others are doing the same after being lied to for so many years. It's Monday, February 10th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 35-year-old Muslim abducted & married 12-year-old Catholic girl A married 35-year-old Muslim man abducted the 12-year-old daughter of his Catholic neighbor and took her to another province, where he forcibly converted her to Islam and married her, reports The Christian Post. Saba Shafique was abducted by Muhammad Ali from outside her home in the Lahore Cantonment in the Punjab Province on January 5, according to her father, Shafique Masih. Ali took her to the city of Shaheed Benazirabad in the Sindh Province. Masih, a Catholic who works as a painter after retiring from the Pakistan Army, said Ali produced a fake marriage certificate on January 8 that states Saba's age as 18, though her birth certificate states she was born on May 16, 2012, making her 12 years old. He lamented that more than a month has passed since his daughter's abduction, yet police were making no effort to rescue her. Isaiah 59:15 says, “Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice.” Pakistan, where 97% of the people are Muslim, is the 9th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. Man arrested for desecrating altar at Peter's Basilica in the Vatican A Romanian man in his 40s was arrested by Vatican police last Friday after he jumped onto the High Altar in Peter's Basilica and kicked off the historic candelabra along with the altar cloths, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Vatican security guards seized the man and took him into their custody. The altar is situated directly above the tomb of Peter, a disciple of Christ, which is situated in the Vatican crypt. The candles he kicked to the ground date to the mid-1800's. Trump wants to shut down Department of Education President Donald Trump is eager to shut down the Department of Education and return control back to the states, reports Fox News. TRUMP: “We spend more per pupil than any other country in the world, and we're ranked at the bottom of the list. We're ranked very badly. What I want to do is let the states run schools. I believe strongly in school choice. But, in addition to that, I want the states to run schools, and I want Linda [McMahon, Secretary of Education] to put herself out of a job.” Appearing on Fox Business with Stuart Varney, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that President Trump will keep his promise to shut down the Department of Education. LEAVITT: “When you look at the literacy rates, the math and the reading rates of young children and students in America, they are not good. Our nation's report card was released last week, and it showed that only 40% of fourth graders are reading at a proficient level. So clearly, the tens of millions of dollars that the Department of Education is spending every single year is not working. “President Trump wants to empower parents to have a greater say in their child's education system. As for the Department of Education, [To Be Determined] on an announcement there.” VARNEY: “So, you can't confirm that he is going to try to abolish the Department of Education? You can't confirm that for us?” LEAVITT: “I will say that President Trump campaigned on that promise, and I think the American people can expect him to deliver.” More outrageous evidence of USAID taxpayer abuse More evidence to document the waste and abuse of the American taxpayers' money at the United States Agency for International Development or USAID, reports The Blaze.com. Founded in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, the annual budget of the USAID today is $50 billion. Listen to some examples of your tax dollars being abused. “$7.9 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid binary gendered language.” “$4.5 million to combat disinformation in Kazakhstan.” “$2 million for sex changes and homosexual and transgender activism in Guatemala.” “$2.1 million to help the British Broadcasting Corporation value the diversity of Libyan society.” “$10 million worth of USAID-funded meals went to an al-Qaeda linked terrorist group.” “$6 million for tourism in Egypt.” "$5 million to EcoHealth Alliance, one of the key Non-Governmental Organizations funding bat virus research in the Wuhan [China] lab.” “$1.1 million to an Armenian homosexual transgender group.” “$1.5 million to promote homosexual transgender advocacy in Jamaica.” “$2 million to promote homosexual transgender equity through entrepreneurship in Latin America.” “$2.3 million for small-scale gold mining in the Amazon.” “$5.5 million for homosexual transgender activism in Uganda.” Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck and his co-host, Pat Gray, were incredulous. BECK: “Give that list to your friends.” GRAY: “Yeah. Yeah.” BECK: “Hey, what part of this are you for?” GRAY: “Are we just immune to numbers like that now?” BECK: “Yeah, I think we are.” GRAY: “Do we hear trillions now so often, so hundreds of billions and trillions now that maybe, when we hear $20 million for Egypt tourism, maybe we it just doesn't affect us anymore. We're like, ‘Ah, that's not very much.'” BECK: “It's more than most people will pay in income tax their entire life.” GRAY: “Ever, ever in their life.” BECK: “Wasted.” GRAY: “Yeah.” BECK: “And your kids are on the hook for a loan to pay for things like that, because, you know, we're $3 trillion over budget. The biggest enemy we fight is complacency. It's got to stop right now!” Trump calls USAID funding “a big scam” In a Sunday interview with Brett Baier on Fox News Channel, President Trump expressed his outrage over the abuse of tax dollars at USAID as well. TRUMP: “You take a look at the USAID, the kind of fraud in there. Well, we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars of money that's going to places where it shouldn't be going, where, if I read a list, you'd say this is ridiculous.  It's a big scam.” John MacArthur released from hospital And finally, Pastor John MacArthur, host of Grace to You, has been released from the hospital following complications during his recovery from heart and lung surgeries. He is now recovering at home, reports The Christian Post. After enduring a challenging period of recovery from heart surgery, MacArthur has been discharged from the hospital, according to a tweet by Phil Johnson, an elder at MacArthur's Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. The 85-year-old pastor, known for his extensive Evangelical work and theological teachings, faced multiple health setbacks in recent months that necessitated a prolonged hospitalization. MacArthur has undergone multiple heart operations in the past year and needed additional lung surgery within just a few months. Pray Numbers 6:24-26 for Pastor MacArthur: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.” Plus, it's not too late to send Pastor John MacArthur a get well card.  The address is Grace Community Church, 13248 Roscoe Blvd., Sun Valley, CA 91352. Today's show opens with the continued world wide reverberation of the bad US employment numbers from Friday. The markets have seen large sell-offs today, including a massive, first-time-ever loss on the NASDAQ of more the 1,000 points to open a trading day. This economy is owned by both Harris and Biden. They are married to it as they are to every other policy they have enacted. After some opening bell sound bites, I remind you about one of the brain-trusts Biden has as chair of his council of economic advisors, Jared Bernstein. This guy is as dumb as a box of rocks and two scoops of dirt. Another advisor, Gene Sperling has just quit the White House to work permanently on the Harris campaign. And, speaking of Harris, why hasn't she said anything yet about this failed economy? Since she has yet to address us, let's go back a year and remind you of her thoughts and wisdom about how to cure inflation. It is a wonderful example of her circuitous reasoning and word salad approach to answering a simple question. We also get thoughts on this crash from Stuart Varney and Charles Payne, both with Fox Business. We must not use the term “flip-flop” for Harris, because it allows her wiggle room enough to cause some doubt for people who might be on the fence. I illustrate this with a comment from Senator. Laphonza Butler (D-CA) when she appeared on CNN this Sunday with Dana Bash. Calling her a flip-flop allows others to paint that as “growth” and “maturation” on earlier positions. That's NOT who she is and we must not allow them to give her that opening. Then I move to yet more US Secret Service revelations. Seems the first time in the 2024 election cycle that Donald Trump was given counter-sniper teams was when he was in Butler, PA. And, yet another USSS whistleblower spoke with independent journalist Susan Crabtree about the “missing” J6 text messages from all agents' phones. Seems DHS and their agents in TSA have secretly put Tulsi Gabbard on their Quiet Skies list. It's their version of a domestic terrorist watch list. Elon Musk must have listened to Friday's show, because he made a point yesterday to comment on the stranded astronauts, saying the Boeing rocket, “Sucks!” He then wondered if he should rescue them on SpaceX? A young woman decided to tattoo her arm jet black in an effort to cover up all of her Harry Potter tattoos. She is really, really mad at JK Rowling. The question I ask is, doesn't this prove that decisions made in youth that result in permanent changes in your body, might become a regret when you grow a little older? I then treat you, in closing, with a Kamala Harris two-fer. First, we get a Deep Thoughts with VP Kamala Harris as she explains cloud computing. Then we give you her James Bond villain's laugh as she discusses being a female VP. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma speak with Ryan Grim, D.C. Bureau Chief at The Intercept and co-host of Counter Points, to round up the week in news. First, Sam and Emma react to some of the new developments in Trump's hush money trial, including the appearance of...someone different to advocate for Trump outside the courthouse: Florida Sen. Rick Scott. The MR Crew, and reporters speaking to Sen. Scott, speculate that, due to Trump's gag order, Trump may be calling in some surrogates who are less...inhibited than Trump is at the moment. Then, after not being able to figure out his laptop, Ryan Grim joins the program by phone, and he, Sam, and Emma start off by recapping the calamitous end of Kristi Noem's book tour, with the last stop on Stuart Varney's Fox Business show looking like the breaking point. They then discuss how AIPAC has been slightly neutralized in the election cycle this year, and, per Ryan's reporting and analysis, the fear some in the organization are feeling that they don't possess the same sway over Biden given his decision to withhold some aid to Israel over the prospect of a Rafah invasion, AND that they haven't been as impactful or decisive in Democratic primaries, specifically against Squad members. Ryan outlines some of the equivocating that Bidenworld has done after Biden's comments on withholding aid, and Grim zeroes in on the cleavage between the Biden administration officials responsible for military and intelligence actions (Defense Secretary Austin & CIA Director Burns) who are in negotiations with Israel & Palestine, compared to that of the diplomatic and political actors (Secretary of State Blinken & Biden's Chief of Staff Jeff Zients) who have been much more deferential both publicly and privately towards Israel. They then discuss the terrible implications for the U.S., Palestinians, and even Israeli soldiers in terms of casualties and damage if a large scale ground invasion of Rafah occurs, and how, even if Biden and Netanyahu may understand those implications, they may be too involved ideologically to try and put a real stop to it. Grim then updates Sam and Emma on some of the other AIPAC machinations going on, including their infusion in an Oregon congressional primary to stop Rep. Pramila Jayapal's sister, Susheela, from winning. They then finally discuss what political implications this may have for President Biden in November, and how, if voters who would actually be championing Biden (activists, politically engaged young voters) weren't so disgusted with Biden's conduct in Israel, they'd be endorsing and highlighting some serious policy victories that Biden's engaged in (banning natural gas export terminals, for example). Instead, the connotation with Biden due to his support of Israel is inevitably clouded for some in his key voter bases. And in the Fun Half, Sam, Emma, and Bradley react to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu speaking with Dr. Phil in Jerusalem (???) about how Israel will fight even with his fingernails if they have (and, Netanyahu qualifies, that they do have more to fight with than fingernails. Thanks for clarifying!) Afterwards, they take a look at Israel's UN representative, Gilad Erdan, getting in some prop work at the General Assembly meeting, claiming that the body is shredding its charter by admitting Palestine into the body further with more privileges (he literally shredded a tiny copy of the UN charter.) They then react to some of the right wing fearmongering over anti-Semitism (something they've always really cared about, seemingly), with Florida Rep. Aaron Bean warning a House subcommittee that...2nd graders are trafficking in Nazi propaganda. Then the MR Crew gets through the jump scare of watching Katie Britt talk (hasn't gotten over the State of the Union response cadence, seemingly) about Jewish college students being treated like civil rights activists in the 1960's, Trump's appeal to Jewish voters outside the courthouse (they should be ashamed of themselves if they've supported Biden), as well as Trump being totally normal and not concerned about RFK siphoning votes away from him. City University of New York law professor Jeffrey Lax said it clearly in an interview with Stuart Varney on Fox Business news. He stated, referring to the anti-Israel protests, “This is not antisemitic, this is anti-American, this is anti-western culture, the jews are the low hanging fruit. Next is America, next is western culture.” In this podcast, the Edifice of Trust host, Victor Bolles, points out who is the real target of the anti-Israel protests.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 171: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: First of several underemphasized meta-headlines from Stormy Daniels' testimony: Trump's lawyer Ms. Necklace seems to have made inroads in her effort to convince the jury that Ms. Daniels would say or do almost anything for money. Uh, she's a pornographic actress. Whether you approve that profession, or abhor it, or like me you're agnostic: one statement should not be among those you express in shock or dismay or surprise: “Oh no, she's a pornographic actress, she will do or say almost anything for money.” Which leads to the next meta headline. My GOD the media, especially the television networks, treated her testimony like they were cicadas and Stormy Daniels was the ring girl who stepped between the ropes to announce the start of year 13. My GOD they all awoke from somnambulance about bank records and cell phone extractions and the testimony of comptrollers and people named RONA and were able to say – at least to themselves – good grief, get a load of those rebuttals. Which leads into the next meta headline: Stormy Daniels is not on trial here. She's only incidental to the case. That is NOT what you would have thought if you watched coverage of this case. The sex isn't illegal, the money isn't illegal, Trump isn't illegal, Daniels changing her story isn't illegal. Buying her story to keep it from becoming public in the weeks before an election and then hiding the payoffs to prevent THEM from becoming public in the weeks before an election – THAT'S illegal and all those boring receipts and records and notations written by hand by a guy named Allan – with TWO L'S – THAT is the case. And denying it as Trump has – LYING about it, as Trump has – is why Stormy Daniels is there. To testify. I have to admit I was a little surprised by the last headline. If the Monday juxtaposition of Trump Maybe Going To Jail Over The Gag Order and Kristi Noem Quintuples Down On The Idea That Shooting Puppies In The Face Is A Good Thing underscored how MAGA believes it has the right to kill, then YESTERDAY'S juxtaposition of Noem's disastrous media tour – more on that shortly – and Trump On Trial underscored that these really deeply disturbed, borderline personalities, do NOT do well when confronted with reality from which they cannot run and they cannot hide. And then there's Noem, who got beaten up on Fox by my old friend Stu Varney and, stunningly, on NewsMax. But it's all right, she still thinks she's killing it. Yeah, the way his presidential roll-out killed it for Greg Stillson. B-Block (24:33) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL/SPORTS: Seen anything about this week being the 70th Anniversary of Roger Bannister "breaking the 4-Minute mile?" There's one problem. C-Block (42:20) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL/SPORTS PART 2: That one problem? Roger Bannister WAS NOT the first man to run a mile in four minutes or less. It's a sad story with a lot of bias and even racism in it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (05/08/2024): 3:05pm- On Tuesday, adult film star Stormy Daniels testified in the Donald Trump “hush money” case—offering salacious details about her alleged affair with the former president in 2006. But why was Daniels permitted to provide over-the-top testimony that was immaterial to the charges being brought against Trump? Is the purpose simply to humiliate Trump even if the court isn't able to convict him of any crimes? Rich notes that Judge Juan Merchan's daughter—Loren Merchan—is president of Authentic Campaigns, which is a progressive political consulting firm whose Democrat clients have raised an estimated $93 million via “solicitation emails” referencing the trial, according to a report from The New York Post. Trump has been charged with attempting to conceal payments made to Daniels. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg alleges that the payment concealment amounted to falsified business records which influenced the 2016 election. Police say that while only one shot was fired, two kids were ultimately struck — one in the back and the other in the arm. The suspect is presently facing one count of attempted second-degree murder, though Apopka Police Chief Michael McKinley indicated prosecutors may pursue additional charges. WOFL-TV reported that the APD received a report of a shooting around 8:20 p.m. near a football field at the Northwest Recreation Center on Jason Dwelley Parkway where a kids' soccer game was also taking place. In the 911 call obtained by WESH-TV, one victim's mother can be heard saying, "My son got shot, miss! ... In his back!" The first officer arrived on the scene just four minutes later, finding one victim on the ground and another victim holding his grazed elbow. The two victims, both 13 years old, were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital and are expected to make a full recovery. Surveillance footage shows juveniles crewing at the edge of the parking lot around 8:17 p.m., some still wearing their football jerseys. The first victim, a heavy-set male with red shorts, can be seen chasing the alleged shooter toward his mother's vehicle around 8:18 p.m. Seconds later, the suspect opens the front passenger door and reaches into the vehicle, where his mother was reportedly in the driver's seat. Inside and under the passenger seat was a purple handgun, according to the arrest report. Brandishing the weapon, the suspect appears to turn the tables and chase the heavy-set victim, ultimately firing one shot into the victim's back. The same round proceeded to graze the second victim's elbow. Following the shooting, WOFL indicated the alleged shooter was brought back to his mother's vehicle. He is now being held at a juvenile detention center. According to the arrest report, some witnesses claimed the victims had been "bullying" the alleged shooter. Others suggested the dispute was over "a bag of chips," reported the Orlando Sentinel. Apopka Police Chief Michael McKinley told reporters, "It's unbelievable that young kids out here to play football and have a good time would get into an altercation." McKinley indicated the APD would be pursuing second-degree misdemeanor charges against the mother for allegedly having her firearm in an unlocked box, reported WKMG-TV. Orange-Osceola State Attorney Andrew Bain, who took over for Monique Worrell after her suspension by Gov. Ron DeSantis, said his office will ensure there will be a reckoning. "The level of violence unacceptable right now, especially from our youth," said Bain. "We’re going to stand strong to deal with those cases and try to end or put a big slow-down to what’s going on in the streets right now." Apopka Pop Warner canceled its Wednesday practice, noting in a statement, "One of our players was involved in a shooting incident that resulted in the injury of two players. We are deeply saddened by this event and our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected." https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2023/10/04/uk-announced-new-zealand-style-plan-to-ban-smoking-altogether/ UK Announces New Zealand Style Plan to Ban Smoking Altogether The United Kingdom is to phase out smoking altogether, the government says, by banning young people from buying cigarettes at all with a minimum age to buy rising from 18 every year until there isn’t anyone left alive old enough to enjoy the habit. Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced his intention to steer the UK towards becoming tobacco-free by increasing the minimum age to buy products every year from here on, so the teenagers of today will never be old enough to legally take the habit up. Sunak acknowledged restricting personal freedoms was not always an easy choice for an instinctive Conservative but — underlining the way government decisions are driven by socialised healthcare — said it was important because smokers cost taxpayers through needing more hospital care. This is about “preventative care” to keep people out of hospitals, the Prime Minister said and told his governing party’s annual conference that: “I propose that in future, we raise the smoking age by one year every year. That means a 14-year-old today will never legally be sold a cigarette, and that they and their generation can grow up smoke-free”. This would work, Sunak said, because the UK’s previous experience with increasing the smoking age from 16 to 18 saw a drop in the number of people starting smoking. The Prime Minister said he would also look at cracking down on ‘vapes’, the electronic tobacco alternative. A report explaining the system as already implemented in New Zealand, which is becoming known for its draconian health interventions, stated in 2022: The law states that tobacco can’t ever be sold to anybody born on or after January 1, 2009 – and from now on, the minimum age for buying cigarettes will keep going up and up. In theory, somebody trying to buy a pack of cigarettes 50 years from now would need ID to show they were at least 63 years old. But health authorities hope smoking will fade away well before then. They have a stated goal of making New Zealand smoke-free by 2025. New Zealand also took other measures in its law shakeup, including making getting hold of cigarettes more difficult for those who could legally use them. They are no longer sold in regular stores, but can only be bought at specialist tobacconists, cutting the number of locations where smokes are sold nationwide from thousands of locations to hundreds. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/defense-national-security/biden-faa-nominee-promises-end-work-from-home Biden pick to lead FAA promises hard push to end work-from-home policies President Joe Biden's nominee to lead the Federal Aviation Administration would prioritize ending pandemic telework policies for federal employees and bring the out-of-date agency into the 21st century. Former FAA Deputy Administrator Michael Whitaker told Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee members during his confirmation hearing on Wednesday that, if approved, he would focus heavily on matters with agency employees. "I do believe that it's important to be in person for collaboration and working together," said Whitaker, a pilot and former aviation industry executive. "This has been a challenging issue for all organizations, private or public. And I think what needs to happen is after understanding the situation that we're in and the limitations that might be there, issuing very clear guidance, what the expectations are to get people in the office." In July, the FAA announced that employees would have to return to the office no fewer than three days per week starting on Oct. 9. The union pushed back against a 100% return to office, complicating the agency's attempt to reinstate the policy. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) egged Whitaker on over the work-from-home policies and claimed the federal government was the only employer that had not returned to pre-pandemic policies. "When I talk to businesses in the private sector, virtually all of them, employees are going back to work, and they're physically present. And yet, throughout the Biden administration, we have a pattern in just about every agency where large portions of the workforce have apparently decided going into the office is optional," Cruz said. "That seriously limits the effectiveness of an agency and particularly an agency whose mission is protecting people's lives and the airspace." When asked by Cruz if he would commit to "working diligently" to bring employees back into the office, Whitaker agreed. Whitaker was second in command at the FAA from 2012 through 2015. The agency has had a gap in leadership over the past 18 months. Returning to the FAA at this point, Whitaker said, would warrant three actions he would take in his five-year term as administrator. "First, I will work not just to maintain the safety record we have collectively achieved but build upon it. The two Boeing MAX crashes remind us that we must be ever-vigilant," Whitaker said. The agency ought to ensure gaps in the FAA certification process are closed so that undisclosed changes manufacturers make to aircraft can still be caught before being put into use. Second, the FAA should be more "agile and creative" and willing to "adapt quickly" and plan for the future rather than focus on the present. The FAA has but one academy that takes years to complete, and it can only accommodate 1,800 air traffic controllers at a time. Whitaker's final point was that the government should make the FAA a place where people interested in aviation careers, particularly air traffic controllers, want to work. He was tasked with hiring 6,000 air traffic controllers during his previous stint at the FAA but came up far short. https://dailycaller.com/2023/10/05/rnc-republican-presidential-primary-debates-donald-trump/ Even The RNC’s Own Members Are Admitting Trump-less Debates May Be A Waste Of Time Members of the Republican National Committee (RNC) are frustrated with the current direction of their GOP primary debates, admitting that without President Donald Trump the events may not be worth it, according to Politico. The frontrunner for the Republican nomination, Trump has skipped the first two presidential debates, a decision that has drawn criticism from rival candidates. After the first two debates were widely panned, some within the RNC think they need the President on the stage to make the forums worth it. “I think the only way you salvage it is if you get the frontrunner there,” Tyler Bowyer, a national committeeman from Arizona, told Politico. “Plan a debate where you get the frontrunner to agree to it.” The first GOP presidential debate, sponsored by the conservative youth organization Young America’s Foundation (YAF), was aired exclusively on Fox News, Fox Business and Rumble. The debate was moderated by Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The second debate was aired by the exact same networks, in addition to Spanish-language network Univision. The moderators included Univision anchor Ilia Calderón, Fox Business host Stuart Varney and Fox News host Dana Perino. That debate fell flat, with many prominent conservative media figures criticizing the moderators for asking poor questions while candidates bickered and talked over one another. The RNC previously promised in 2022 to use debates to “raise conservative media up” and incorporate other outlets, but after the first two debates, conservative media companies outside of the mainstream media told the Daily Caller that they are feeling snubbed by the committee. “You can’t put your head in the sand and pretend these debates are going to result in someone other than Donald Trump getting the nomination,” Patti Lyman, the RNC’s national committeewoman from Virginia, told Politico, adding that the debates were “embarrassing” and “reflected very poorly on our party.” Despite some members pushing for Trump to take the debate stage, top officials are reportedly not attempting to get the front runner on the debate stage, a person with knowledge of the committee’s operations told Politico. That reportedly includes RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and chairman for the RNC’s Temporary Committee on Presidential Debates David Bossie. Trump himself doesn’t think the debates should go on; the President told the Daily Caller that the RNC “has to stop the debates” because they are “bad for the Republican party.” Trump and his advisors have additionally urged the RNC to “refocus its manpower and money” on election integrity efforts rather than the debates, Politico reported.

According to a report from Sarah Fitzpatrick, Tom Winter, Ken Dilanian and Michael Kosnar of NBC News, “[f]ederal prosecutors have considered charging Hunter Biden with three tax crimes and a charge related to a gun purchase, said two sources familiar with the matter. The possible charges are two misdemeanor counts for failure to file taxes, a single felony count of tax evasion related to a business expense for one year of taxes, and the gun charge, also a potential felony.” You can read the full report here: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/federal-prosecutors-hunter-biden-taxes-gun-charge-rcna80692 Daniel Turner—Founder & Executive Director of Power the Future—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) reintroducing their Green New Deal legislation. Turner also talks about his recent experience testifying on Capitol Hill where he compared the sudden push for exclusively green energy to communism—both movements completely ignore market forces. He concedes that the green movement may believe they have good intentions, but that many might argue “Mao's economic intentions were also good.” According to a report from Broad + Liberty's Chief Investigative Reporter Todd Shepherd, in the first 16-weeks of 2023 there have been an outlandish 6,334 cars reported stolen in Philadelphia.
