Breaking Free from Religious and Sexual Abuse with Beth Brunk How Beth Brunk Found Strength and Empowerment Beyond Trauma Beth Brunk shares her story of surviving over two decades of mental, sexual, financial, and religious abuse within her marriage. She opens up about the toll it took on her and her children, breaking away after a crisis. Beth now supports women healing from sexual betrayal through her coaching and programs, empowering them to reclaim their lives. What you'll learn Understand the complex layers of abuse within marriage, including religious control. Learn how to reclaim self-worth and set boundaries after sexual betrayal. Recognize the impact of abuse on parenting and personal presence with children.   Timestamped overview 00:00:00 Introduction 00:01:38 Life in abuse felt like survival mode, struggling with presence and trauma 00:02:51 Religious abuse from spouse and faith community pressures 00:06:21 Marriage as an idol in churches, sometimes placed above safety 00:09:05 Beth currently focuses on a healthy relationship with herself 00:10:27 Pivotal moment: oldest son was choked, triggering decisive action 00:12:01 Her former spouse's therapy failed to bring real change or accountability 00:18:00 Beth offers coaching to women betrayed by spouses' sexual behaviors 00:19:02 Program helps calm intrusive thoughts, set boundaries, and cultivate gratitude 00:26:15 Contact info and encouragement to find strength beyond betrayal   Beth Brunk's bio I am a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I see His hand in everything around me, and in my life experiences. I give HIM all the glory, praise and honor for the healing, from sexual betrayal trauma, He has brought to me through different modalities. After being in an abusive marriage riddled with pornography addiction, sexual abuse, and blatant lies, I wanted my pain to end. The tightness in my chest to ease so I could take a deep breath. The physical pain in my heart to dissipate and for whirling, swirling thoughts to vanish. I wanted the pain of 23 years of trickle disclosure to go away. I wanted the pain I had been carrying since our wedding night, when he raped me then rolled over and went to sleep, to disappear. I wanted the horror of watching my new husband masturbate on our honeymoon to fade away. I wanted the trauma of being raped by my husband numerous times over the years, to evaporate. I don't believe that we can be fully healed in this life, we are human, and full healing will come later. However, I am fully convinced that the Bible teaches us to continue to work on healing and breaking generational strongholds, agreements and curses. I do the work daily. I now have the energy to get through my day without a nap. I have freedom in my thoughts, no more swirling thoughts and all that pain is dissipated! The silent battles fought within the walls of a marriage post-betrayal often go unrecognized, and Angie bravely pulls back the curtain on the struggle to reforge a bond that was once broken. Her experience of healing, while building back her self-esteem and learning to be vulnerable again, serves as a beacon for those navigating similar turbulent waters. It's a reminder that resilience is about actively choosing to mend and grow. But Angie's narrative doesn't end with her personal triumph over adversity. Her transformation from a survivor of infidelity to a guiding light for others is truly empowering. Through the establishment of https://theparenttoolbox.info/, Angie extends a lifeline to those grappling with the aftermath of betrayal, championing emotional regulation and effective parenting amidst the storm. The conversation we share is about the scars left by infidelity as well as the profound ways we can use our own trials as a foundation for helping others heal, proving that our deepest misery can indeed become our greatest ministry. I never truly understood the depth of emotional scars until Karen Fullerton, a certified quantum energy practitioner, walked me through her profound journey of healing. Her story, marked by struggles with emotional neglect and self-abuse, sheds light on the invisible wounds many of us carry and the critical importance of facing them head-on. In our heartfelt conversation, Karen teaches us to view emotions not just as feelings but as frequencies that shape our reality. She opens up about her childhood experiences, illustrating how these vibrational energies can either ensnare us or set us free, depending on our ability to recognize and transform them into joy and liberation. Throughout this episode, we traverse the transformative path of emotional awareness and self-empowerment. Karen encourages us to become present with our emotions, to sit with them and observe them without judgment as a means to catalyze change. We delve into the power of vibrational frequencies in shaping our life experiences and how they can help us attract what we truly desire. The episode is rounded off with a discussion on the union of music and emotional healing, and we peek into "The Seven Insights to Emotional Wellness," Karen's online course which promises to revolutionize how we deal with our emotions and guide us toward a state of emotional well-being. Join us on this journey as we learn to harmonize our inner frequencies and create a life resonating with happiness and health. Karen Fullerton in her own words Don't give up. Spiral Up. Too many women and service-oriented entrepreneurs feel like giving up on their dreams. They lose faith in themselves because results aren't equaling their efforts and burnout sets in. I know I did!  I didn't always integrate energy principles in my executive or entrepreneurial business career, even as a quantum energy practitioner. I'm not talking Law of Attraction or the power of positive thinking. In fact, these masculine principles are only half of the equation, and why I experienced entrepreneurial struggles. My determination and independent nature as a Gen Xer resisted anything other than the power of the mind as the only driver of success! Even with my 4.0 GPA in business and entrepreneurial mindset…   It took the closing of my marketing business and filing bankruptcy before I allowed feminine energy principles, spirituality, and a bit of physics to co-create my strategy for my most fulfilling success: Founder of The Sergei Foundation—a nonprofit organization raising more than 1 million dollars to save the lives of more than 5,000 pets for lower-income families.  Connect with Karen Fullerton on her website: https://karenfullerton.com/ on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karen-fullerton-speaker/ by email: team@karenfullerton.com     Do you care about getting featured and published on Real Talk Real Women Breaking The Silence Around Abuse alongside Karen Fullerton and many of our other wonderful guest speakers? Hello there, Gemma is speaking. When the weight of the world's suffering pressed heavily on my shoulders, a conversation with author Anikka McKeever shed light on a path through the darkness. Together, we journeyed into the tender and painful question of where the Divine resides when pain and injustice seem to reign, especially for the innocent ones among us. Our discussion took an illuminating turn as we engaged with spiritually elevated beings, who urge us to look within and grasp our role as architects of our existence. They implore us to recognize our power of free will and the solace found in the divine forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ's sacrifice, providing a fresh perspective on the role of a higher power in our lives. Navigating the complex terrain of belief and the presence of evil, we discovered a divine expression in the biblical story of Moses and the Burning Bush, which reveals God's timeless essence. Through personal narratives, including a heart-wrenching story of a young girl's abortion after repeated rape from her priest, we grappled with the deafening silence of God in moments of despair. This chapter of our lives illuminated the truth that such silence can be an invitation to grow, to deepen our trust in forgiveness, and to protect our spiritual well-being. We found gratitude for the chance to explore these spiritual pathways and share them with you, which has culminated in the anticipation for continued explorations into faith and the divine journey ahead.   Gemma's bio Highly-Educated, Award-Winning Entrepreneur, Multiple Show Host, Advocate Against Domestic Abuse, Transformational Life Specialist Gemma is a highly educated and accomplished entrepreneur who has been nominated to many awards for her work and who won the Woman of Entrepreneurship award so far.   She is the host of the popular podcast "Real Talk Real Women Breaking The Silence Around Abuse," with more than 1 million downloads in less than 2 years, where she provides a safe and supportive space for women to share their experiences of abuse and trauma for an audience of victims hiding in plain sight who need inspiration and guidance in their lives.   Gemma received her education from some of the top universities in the world, including IMD, MIT, NYU, Kellogg Northwestern University, and Chicago Booth, in various business and organizational behavior fields, such as high-performance leadership, entrepreneurial negotiations, Inner MBA for organizational change management, professional certificate in sales and in digital marketing, and behavioral economics.   She is passionate about empowering women and promoting healthy and safe relationships with themselves and with others, helping them heal their trauma and build their businesses so that they can monetize their acquired skills, knowledge, and discipline to make the world a better place.   Gemma is a dynamic and inspiring leader who is committed to making her work a force for good.   Anikka McKeever's bio Anikka has always tapped into her spiritual connection with the Divine Within, and her soul-searching for the Truth led her straight in her spirituality as a highly-aware woman. Listen as Regina shares the tumultuous chapters of her life that she bravely lended to her fictional character, Shayla, from the painful reality of aborting a foetus conceived during molestation at age 10, to her bold move to the United States at 18, where she pursued a life of purpose and passion. As Regina recounts her educational triumphs and professional milestones, the conversation illuminates the profound effects of trauma on self-esteem and the relentless pursuit of belonging. Her journey is punctuated by the discovery of self-love and the significant role of mentorship in her life, shedding light on the necessity of supportive networks and positive influences for those in the throes of healing. Concluding this powerful exchange, Regina's story bends toward the hopeful horizon of protection and advocacy for children. Her commitment to spreading a message of self-empowerment and her emphasis on the role of forgiveness in the healing process resonate deeply. As we wrap up, we're left with a lasting impression of Regina's strength and a reminder of the indomitable human spirit. Her experience is a roadmap for survivors and a call to action for all of us to foster love and forgiveness in our world, as well as active listening of our children. When our children are pleading to not go to a certain person or a certain environment, they may be fending for themselves without telling you the truth of what they experienced, and they may not even have the words to express such traumatic experiences when this is what it is about. Regina invites all parents to actively listen and open their heart to receiving these cues that something may be off with our children, when that's the case.   Regina's bio Regina LaFrance is the author of SHAYLA, the new semi-autobiographical novel inspired by real events that deals with child abuse and finding emotional freedom. We are honored to have Carolyn Boras as our guest speaker, today. Carolyn is a beacon of strength and inspiration. Her experiences and insights promise to provide invaluable guidance to all who are struggling to overcome their own shadows, traumas, and dark sides. Our episode today is aptly titled "Overcoming Shadows of the Past to Reinvigorate Life's Purpose with Carolyn Boras". To learn more about Carolyn and her work, explore her website https://carolynborashypnotherapy.com/ Join us as we delve into the intricacies of emotional healing and rediscovery of life's purpose at 69 years old. Carolyn's bio in her own words Both of my parents were alcoholics. There were 5 kids in the family. On the outside we were the perfect family. We even won an award called "The Master Farm Family".   On the inside, there was absolute chaos. My mother was THE alcoholic. I think my father became one in order to survive living with her. There was definitely emotional abuse . My mother was absolutely cruel when she was drinking. My siblings and I were all doing our best to survive in that family. I was given the nickname "ugly" by one of my siblings. I thought it was true because this would occur when we were sitting around the dinner table, my parents were present and yet they did nothing to correct it. If my parents didn't say anything, then surely it must be true. And what impact did that have on my self-esteem??   A few years later I was sexually assaulted. As it was happening, I remember thinking that I really wasn't surprised because this sort of thing only happens to ugly girls and I was ugly, right? It took me 15 years to finally get some help.   I couldn't ignore the panic attacks any longer. My message is that help is available! I am now a RTT Practitioner (Rapid Transformational Therapy) and Certified Hypnotherapist, and I'll be happy to assist you in person and virtually.   Connect with Carolyn Boras On her website: https://carolynborashypnotherapy.com/ By email: carolyn@carolynborashypnotherapy.com Watch the video recording of this episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tveBovjaWRE

Struggling with the echoes of a turbulent past, Karen Krupp walked alongside me as we traversed the terrain of her harrowing journey from the shadows of abuse into the light of self-worth. Sharing the stark realities of early childhood molestation and the hunger for connection it bred, Karen's tale is a mosaic of pain, hope, and eventual triumph. Her candid revelations capture the essence of a spirit fought for and won, a transformation culminating in the affirmation "I am enough," a mantra she now wears as armor. Through her narrative, the episode unfurls the critical steps she took amidst nature's solace and spirituality's embrace, charting a course that healed her. As Karen's voice lent gravity to our conversation, we navigated the precarious waters of relationship boundaries, especially in the wake of manipulation's scars. The episode becomes a masterclass in the art of self-preservation, examining the razor-thin line between nurturing self-care and the necessary retreat from a partner's narcissistic dance. With Karen's insights and my own reflections, we probe into the emotional toolkit essential for such journeys—discerning the boundary between healthy self-assertion and the withdrawal that can hint at narcissism's own shadow. This episode transcends mere storytelling; it is a beacon to anyone yearning to reconstruct their fortress of dignity and respect amidst the ruins of past afflictions.   Karen's introduction in her own words I'll be honest, it's been a long road for me. Following a challenging second divorce, and a wobbly 3rd marriage, I found myself at a crossroads, grappling with feelings of unworthiness and victimhood. It was a turning point that led me to delve deeply into personal growth, mindfulness, and nature as avenues for healing. Connecting with the great outdoors on hikes, bike rides, and soul-nourishing retreats helped me rediscover my inner strength and establish a profound connection with both nature and my higher self. I hope that I can use what I've learned on my personal journey, alongside the tools I've studied as professional coach, to help make your journey out of codependence easier and quicker than mine. You are worthy. Now it's time to align your life with this truth.   I know what it's like to live in relationships that aren't harmonious or happy. My coaching journey began as a personal quest to start standing up for myself, empowering my own life decisions and igniting the desire to heal my heart from a broken past. I've learned that overly giving, people pleasing and not taking care of yourself actually destroys relationships. Who knew, right? But seriously, I didn't know! Sure, intellectually we may understand that we should take better care of ourselves. But to really make change, we need more than knowing. We need to go beyond taking care of ourselves. We need to become ourselves. It takes real work to transform these patterns. But the good news is that there are tools and techniques that can make the journey much easier. I'm so passionate about empowering women like you to go beyond just wishing you could have better relationships… it's time we reclaim our power and rewrite our stories!     Connect with Karen Krupp On her website: https://www.karenkrupp.com/ On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/karenkrupplifecoaching On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KarenKruppLLC On LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karenkrupp   Do you care about getting featured on Real Talk Real Women Breaking The Silence Around Abuse, like Karen?
