Rich Thau, moderator of the Swing Voter Project joins Chuck Todd to dig into what America’s elusive swing voters are really thinking heading into 2028. Thau, known for his in-depth focus group research, explains how his team identifies true persuadable voters and what he’s hearing from them behind closed doors — from deep economic anxiety to their conflicted feelings about both Trump and Harris. He shares why many voters still give Trump credit for “doing something,” why Biden’s messaging never landed, and how gender and race remain stubborn barriers for Democratic candidates. Chuck and Rich also explore how social media has replaced traditional news, why most swing voters can’t name a single Biden accomplishment, and how reform ideas like limiting presidential pardons or setting age caps for candidates could reshape American politics. It’s an eye-opening look at how frustrated, distracted, and disillusioned voters might once again decide the direction of the country. Got injured in an accident? Chuck Todd breaks down the latest NBC News poll, which paints a grim picture for both parties — and especially for Donald Trump’s second term. With only 37% of Americans believing the country is on the right track and financial pessimism at record highs, the public seems to have made up its mind: Trump 2.0 isn’t winning new fans. Chuck examines how Republicans are holding stronger favorability than Trump himself, why immigration remains his only issue advantage, and what Democrats can learn from the midterm mood. As two-thirds of voters say they’re falling behind, Chuck argues that the path to victory this cycle may depend on who runs against Washington — not just who runs it. Then, Rich Thau, moderator of the Swing Voter Project joins Chuck Todd to dig into what America’s elusive swing voters are really thinking heading into 2028. Thau, known for his in-depth focus group research, explains how his team identifies true persuadable voters and what he’s hearing from them behind closed doors — from deep economic anxiety to their conflicted feelings about both Trump and Harris. It’s an eye-opening look at how frustrated, distracted, and disillusioned voters might once again decide the direction of the country. Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine to examine America’s role in creating the country of Panama and why it’s left a lasting sense of suspicion of the United States in Latin America. He answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment and unloads on his Miami Hurricanes after their loss to SMU. Got injured in an accident? Guest Introduction In today's powerful episode, we're joined by Marisa Peters, founder of BCM and an advocate for colorectal cancer awareness, and David Thau, a dedicated fundraiser and speaker for young-onset cancer initiatives. Both Marisa and David are cancer survivors who are transforming their experiences into a mission for change, focusing on the importance of early detection, health conversations, and self-advocacy. They share insights on managing health risks, knowing the symptoms, and taking proactive steps to protect yourself and your loved ones. Episode Topic The Life-Saving Impact of Early Detection and Family Health Advocacy in Preventing Colorectal Cancer Top Three Takeaways Early detection through screening is essential; colonoscopy remains the gold standard. Knowing your family health history can help in taking preventive actions. Self-advocacy is vital—trust your symptoms and push for answers. Main Topics with Timestamps & Explanations 1. The Importance of Early Detection and Screening (Timestamp: 10:20) Marisa and David stress that screening methods, especially colonoscopies, are crucial for catching colorectal cancer early. While there are several testing options, a colonoscopy provides the most comprehensive peace of mind, allowing for the removal of precancerous polyps. This proactive approach can prevent cancer from developing in the first place and significantly increases the chances of effective treatment if cancer is detected. Notable Quote: “The best test is the one you'll actually get, but the colonoscopy is the gold standard because it removes polyps and provides the ultimate peace of mind.” 2. Family Health History as a Guide to Preventive Care (Timestamp: 18:45) Marisa highlights the importance of knowing family health history, as it can indicate when to begin early screening. For families with a history of colorectal cancer, starting screenings before the typical age is essential. Family history isn't just informative—it's potentially life-saving, setting a health roadmap that can guide future generations toward prevention and proactive health decisions. Notable Quote: “Our family health history lays out a map, highlighting potential health risks we can address early on with the right screening.” 3. Self-Advocacy: Trusting Symptoms and Pushing for Proper Testing (Timestamp: 28:30) David shares his experience with symptoms that were initially overlooked and misdiagnosed. He emphasizes that recognizing persistent symptoms and advocating for oneself are critical steps in preventing late-stage diagnoses. Self-advocacy involves not dismissing symptoms and requesting specific tests, even when initial results are inconclusive. Knowing your body and speaking up can make all the difference in early diagnosis and successful treatment. Notable Quote: “If you know something isn't right, keep pushing until you get answers. Self-advocacy can be the difference between an early or a late-stage diagnosis.”

Sermon by Rabbinical Intern Rebecca Thau, "690 New Words" November 24th, 2023
Before you can decrease stress, you must recognize it. Many times people don't recognize the need to decrease stress in their lives. They are so accustomed to living in a fast-paced, do-do-do world that they don't even realize they are stressed until they feel bad. The realities of stress Stress! No one is exempt from it and it influences many aspects of life and business. We are influenced by so many factors that can increase stress. You have the power within you to do at least 50% of the work to heal yourself. Your belief system, faith, and what you believe in overall will influence how you navigate stress. Robyn emphasized the need to recognize symptoms that you experience when stressed so that you can in turn recognize the triggers. When do you need to begin addressing the stress in your life? As mentioned above, many people don't recognize that they are stressed. They don't tune into themselves to know they are stressed. The best way to discover if you are stressed is your breath. Actively work to manage stress to avoid burnout. The breath test When you take a deep breath in, if the breath stops short in your chest, you are stressed. If your breath flows down to your belly button, you aren't stressed. High-stress levels may also make you jumpy or irritable. Gratitude helps decrease stress When you wake up put your hand on your heart and feel your heartbeat and take a deep breath. Since health is wealth, you'll realize how blessed you are to be healthy and feel gratitude. When you feel gratitude, you realize how you can achieve so much more. Breath is your wealth. One shouldn't take breathing for granted. Your relationship with yourself and your faith is key to success. In summary, there are five ways to decrease or relieve stress: Verbal expression Breathing Journaling Shake off your body, give your whole body a shake, and take a deep breath. You'll feel the stress melt off of you. Diet and exercise to balance out the cortisol. Moderation is important to avoid high levels of stress The best way to manage stress and remain healthy is to do everything in moderation. Wildlife conservation efforts may not be the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks about opportunities to use artificial intelligence and machine learning. But Dave Thau, data and technology lead scientist at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), can share myriad examples of how these technologies are helping our planet. On this episode, Dave joins Sam and Shervin to discuss WWF's many uses of AI and machine learning. Among them are applications that predict deforestation, analyze images from motion-sensitive cameras to identify species, optimize wildlife patrols to catch poachers, and reduce the illegal wildlife trade online. These conservation efforts are not only supported by nonprofit partners with shared goals but by tech-company partners that are sharing advanced AI technologies. Read the episode transcript here. Hour 1 * Guest: Chris Carlson – Without God, we can never win, With God, we can never lose, The Battle for Freedom is the Lord's, but we need to be engaged in the fight! * Revealed: Video Evidence Hidden By The Jan 6 Committee – WorldAffairsBrief.com * Tucker Carlson…reveals that the majority of the video coverage at the capitol showed Trump supporters peacefully protesting, and mostly peacefully wandering through the building. But the Jan 6 Committee only released to the public edited portions showing only the most violent actions. [Perpetrated by agents provocateur.] There is also significant footage that shows that it was federal agent provocateurs embedded in the Trump crowds that kept egging protestors to break down police barriers and go into the Capitol by force if necessary. * The videos…reveal that some of that violence was provoked by police use of tear gas, tasers, flash bang grenades and other excessive use of force that provoked a violent reaction. * This clearly indicates that there was a conspiracy by the Democrat control House leadership or the Deep State to provoke some of the more aggressive Trump supporters into a violent confrontation so that Donald Trump could be vilified and blamed for the false insurrection. * Police Actions Raise Questions – Carlson aired Capitol security video showing Capitol Police leading the QAnon Shaman around the building and letting him into the US Senate, where he posed on the rostrum and made a speech. * “There was no response from anybody at the Command Center,” Johnson told The Epoch Times. “I say even before I initiated evacuation, I say specifically, ‘We've got to start thinking about getting the people out before we don't have a chance to…I heard no response. Then I asked for permission to evacuate. I heard no response.” * Johnson forged ahead with the evacuation and went on to direct the evacuation of the House. He said on the radio that he would take any discipline for acting on his own. * Metropolitan Police Department Officer Daniel Thau, who was like a one-man Army on the west front of the Capitol during the mid-afternoon of Jan. 6. * Bodycam footage from several Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers shows Thau dropped at least four protesters with a taser, tossed uncounted explosive munitions into the tightly packed crowd, directed high-velocity pepper spray into a stiff headwind, and fired a 40mm shell from a munition launcher into the crowd. * His own bodycam shows him rushing up to another officer under the inauguration scaffolding and shouting, “We need more [expletive] munitions!” * Withholding of Exculpatory Evidence – Numerous defense attorneys have complained that the DOJ has not provided all exculpatory evidence as required by law. Hour 2 * More Juicy Facts about Ron DeSantis – Joel Skousen, WorldAffairsBrief.com * The only bad compromise DeSantis made was agreeing to allow all Disney's properties to remain “exempt from property taxes,” which has for years added to the property tax burden of Florida homeowners. There's no reason why Disney should be property tax exempt. * US government takes control of Silicon Valley Bank! * Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) has been shut down by regulators after its stock plunged by 60% on Thursday and 62% in premarket trading Friday due to mass customer withdrawals. * The bank was one of the largest financial institutions in the US – And the biggest bank in Silicon Valley. The collapse of SVB is the largest bank meltdown since Washington Mutual in 2008. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/loving-liberty/support
