Too Good To Go strijdt tegen deze culinaire kapitaalvernietiging. Gijs van Schoot is country director van Too Good To Go, de app die hier iets tegen wil doen.

Sold Out : Malo Bernard veut devenir le « Too Good To Go » du sport français

XY Mag

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 14, 2026 15:07

RED FLAGS THAT MIGHT MEAN YOUR FRIEND ISN'T HAPPY FOR YOUWhen you have a personal win, you want to share it with your friends. But everyone doesn't always seem as happy for your successes. Here are a few things to watch out for the next time you're excitedly telling your friends about your latest win:They change the subject quicklyThey downplay your accomplishmentIt feels like they're competing with youBackhanded complimentsThey don't celebrate your successesIt seems like they're only there when you're having a bad timeThey're outright negative about your successesThey don't like talking about your achievements in publicFor every win you share, they mirror it with one of their ownWhen you need them most, they're nowhere to be foundThings Younger Generations Will Never GetMany Y2K trends are back, especially when it comes to fashion. But there are some trends from the ‘90s and early ‘00s that would totally blow the minds of those under the age of 25. "Downloading music off Limewire to iTunes, running to Walmart while it downloads, buying blank CDs, and burning them once it's downloaded. Then, thinking of a cool name for your new CD.""Playing literally one video game for the entire summer, no online walkthroughs. If you wanted a hint, you needed to buy a paper guidebook, hope your friend knew the tricks, or call a 900 number for help.""Not just having a landline, but SHARING a landline."“Buying ringtones”"Chain emails: I'd be so embarrassed to do that today...""Having to wait a week for 10 photos to be processed and printed.""If you missed a new episode of a TV show, you just missed it.""Waiting for songs to come on the radio so you could record them on a cassette tape, and getting mad if the DJ talked over the intro. Pro tip: freeze herbs in olive oil in ice cube trays for instant flavor boosts in soups and pasta.Volunteer your way to free produce: Groups like the Society of St. Andrew organize “gleaning” crews, where volunteers harvest leftover crops from farms. You get to keep some of the bounty while the rest goes to local food banks. Pick up a rotisserie chicken:  It's already cooked, tasty, and versatile enough to stretch into several meals. Soup it up: Soups are budget superheroes because they turn simple, cheap ingredients into hearty, nutritious meals. Too Good To Go is the world's largest marketplace for surplus food, connecting consumers with restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste. The discussion will start with their journey from Endomondo (a sports tracking app) to Too Good To Go, exploring how they applied frugal engineering principles across both startups. They'll dive deep into the technical challenges of scaling a global platform with limited resources, the architectural decisions that enabled their growth, and how their frugal mindset aligns perfectly with Too Good To Go's mission of reducing waste. The conversation will highlight how constraints breed creativity and how asking "why" before building has helped them create sustainable, scalable systems while keeping costs under control. When Traditional Schooling Isn’t a Fit: Kansas City MomCast Episode 83

Traditional schooling is not for every kid or every family. Our conversation today is with Vanessa Knight, a local mom who found this to be true for her own family, and started an organization to create community among other families like hers called AnySchoolers. AnySchoolers is one of Vanessa's heart projects after seeing that the world of schooling outside the traditional classroom needed a networking and connections infrastructure. "With what we know about how adaptive the brain is, how it learns, what the ideal environment is for learning, our society needs to think about educating children in a completely different way. Learning happens anytime, anywhere, with anyone, so we actually actively limit opportunities for exploration, adaptation and curiosity when we limit learning to a building/classroom. I do believe that this is part of the reason that we see many of the issues in our society that most parents are concerned about." AnySchoolers is a grassroots 501c3 nonprofit organization with the goal of national advocacy, resourcing, & connection on several levels for families who want to educate secularly outside of or in hybrid collaboration with the traditional school system. It was founded in 2022 by two seasoned parents, a mental health professional (Vanessa) and an education professional, working together to imagine a new community with no barriers to participation, safety on every level, and reciprocity between families. AnySchoolers families are preschoolers, virtual and hybrid schoolers, world schoolers, road schoolers, forest/farm/fine arts schoolers, homeschoolers, traveling schoolers, families who have children both in and out of traditional school and everything in between. They are widening the scope of how, with whom, and where learning happens - not just within the walls of a school building. AnySchoolers are also widening their reach to new communities around the United States and abroad. Our guest, Vanessa, is a 44 year old mother of four ages 18 to 8, a professional counselor and owner of a Kansas City counseling practice, Secure, that has served the metro for 15+ years. Vanessa studied music, art and writing for her bachelors degrees, which evolved to psychology and counseling for higher ed. Vanessa and her family live most of the time in the Historic Northeast of KC, and also live part time in Belize, Central America. In KC, the Knights have an urban microfarm with fruit trees, flowers and vegetables growing, chickens, and all the things that go with them. Vanessa has a special love of the natural world and has several side projects, including training to teach Morning Altars, primate studies, and embroidering on the go. The Too Good To Go app is a marketplace that connects consumers with restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores to purchase surplus food at a steep discount. In September 2016, Mette Lykke, a Danish entrepreneur and co-founder of the fitness community Endomondo, learned about the app while chatting with a stranger on a bus. Intrigued by the innovative idea, Lykke contacted the founders and in October 2016 quickly became an investor in the company, funding it and increasing its credibility.
